Soos

11:40 AM

Soos kept walking even further into the town...

He seemed to be in a shopping district, probably where the business district is. He started to recognize some, if not all, of the shops, restaurants, and businesses as he passed them by. He remembered this part of town really well going into each establishment when he was here with Melody...

Gosh, I've really been walking here for a long time now...and I haven't even seen anyone in the town at all...and I'm not even close to finding Melanie...

Shaking his head as power-walked through the street, he mumbled to himself, "Dude, this is insane. Other than that priest guy, no one is here...have I like, entered another dimension, or something?"

He kept going for three more blocks...passing abandoned cars, dimly lit street lights as some of them flickered, and going through the intense and dense fog that surrounded him.

The silence around him grew more deafening, hearing his footsteps as he ran. The feeling of fear of losing his daughter out here with no one around to help...the priest named Vincent didn't offer any help, almost like he couldn't because...

What was that guy's deal? I really needed the help. ...But he seemed...almost a little hesitant? Like...maybe he wanted to help, but...he really couldn't? ...If that's the case, then why couldn't he?

Soos's power-walked slowed into a simple walk...

And...me calling 911...there was no one picking it up...but I received...a phone call...from...Melody...

...He then gradually came to a stop once more.

...Melody...

Soos...

Remember Silent Hill?

You said you would take me back there again someday...

But ever since little Melanie was born...we didn't get the chance to...

I remember our night together at the hotel...

...Please bring Melanie to Silent Hill...

...He remembered the letter perfectly well. Not because he had it in his right breast pocket, but because...

...Soos turned his head to his left.

Over at the next block and on the corner of the next intersection, there was...a diner...

...with the lights on.

Even the red neon-lighted sign on the diner's roof was on, glowing through this fog.

Eyes widened at this supposedly strange but welcoming sight, Soos turned to the diner and observed it for a moment. He looked up at the neon sign that was displayed on top of the establishment.

Diner '52

After reading the sign, Soos looked back at the windows of the building, the light dimly illuminating the place. He walked up to the sidewalk where the diner was, getting close to it as he looked at the large square windows of the restaurant. Looking through the glass windows, he sees the interior of the diner, the place having that old-timey 1950s diner feel to it, the name staying true to its motif.

While there were booths and tables on the left side of the restaurant, there was a curved bar section to the right, the bar looping to the left and arched downward to the right of the place. The barstools surrounded the whole bar counter, all of them there to serve patrons American food, malty milkshakes, and creamy pies...

...And that was when Soos, who was looking really closely inside the diner through the windows by cupping his hands over his eyes, saw someone in the upper left corner of the diner.

...A person...

The person, who looked like a man, was sitting down in one of the booths, with his back turned away from Soos. The man looks to be blonde, with a blue cap worn backward, his shirt, from what Soos could tell, looked like a blue and white striped polo shirt...

...He also looked a little portly.

I mean, I'm not one to talk, but...

Soos stopped cupping his hands over his eyes and continued to look through the window in question.

Is...Is he the only one there? ...Is this, uh...Is this diner open?

...Soos glanced at the door to his right, the entrance to the diner.

...Well, maybe this guy had seen Melanie?

So, Soos walked over to the entrance of the restaurant. Once he neared the door, he was about to grab the handle…

...Until he paused...

...No. Don't hesitate. No matter how odd this all is, you got to find your daughter...

...Taking a deep breath, and making a quick silent prayer to himself...he opened the door and went inside the diner.

Once he was inside, Soos walked onto the black and white checkered-tiled floor, his footsteps making small pitter-patter sounds in the quietness of this eating establishment. The sounds, however, didn't seem to alarm the person sitting in the booth at the back.

Deciding to just slowly walk over to the seated person, Soos basically tip-toed around the curved bar of the diner and went over to this man...

...He can hear noises from the man...it sounds like he's...eating?

Upon hearing that, Soos blinked and looked around the diner to see if anyone was working here, since from what he was healing, the man seemed to be...enjoying a meal?

Soos looked back at the back of the man in his seat at the booth. Curious, he arched his head to his right to see if there was actually any food on his table.

He sees a glimpse of what looks like...a big juicy burger. It was in his hands as he was devouring it with each bite...

...Um...maybe he isn't dangerous? But...if that's the case, then...where did he get the burger? No one is supposedly here...well, kind of, but...how did he get that food? It looks like it's freshly made...

The man kept eating, apparently ignoring the new visitor inside the restaurant, making gross humming sounds as he seemed to enjoy the meal he was having.

...I could...probably make myself known...

Soos cleared his throat, "Um...e-excuse me!?" he called out so the man could hear him through all the eating sounds he was making.

Startled, the man jumped in from where he sat, and quickly turned his head to his right to look at Soos, the hamburger still in his hands. It seemed he was surprised that anyone else was here in this town as well.

"What the-...?" the man put his hamburger down on his plate and turned his whole body around as he stood up, facing Soos. "Wh-Who are you?" he asked him.

"Uh...I-I should be asking the same for you," Soos said as he scratched his hair on his head in curiosity.

"Uh...th-the name's Eddie," the man named Eddie said, "Eddie Dombrowski."

Eddie seemed to have a chubby face with a big nose, his stomach not hiding the fact he was a little obese, his belly poking out a bit. Again, his attire was a blue and white horizontal-striped polo shirt, but he was also wearing some brown khaki shorts and some white socks that reached his shins, complete with gray tennis shoes on his feet.

"Um, okay, Eddie," Soos nodded, "I, uh, I'm Soos! Short for Jesús. My full name is Jesús Alzamirano Ramirez...b-but, call me Soos, please!"

"Oh...uh, okay," Eddie just stood there as he rubbed the back of his head, "Sooo...uh, who are you?"

"Well, I, um, I don't work here for one thing..." Soos looked around Eddie and saw his food on the plate. He then briefly looked around the diner, "Uh..." he looked back at the blonde and portly man, "How...did you get any food here?"

Eddie blinked, "Um...it's a restaurant, man."

"Wha-n-no, I mean, how? Like, this whole diner looks like it's...abandoned?" Soos looked around his surroundings again, "...Maybe? I mean, is there anyone working back there in the kitchen?"

"Oh...um, I don't think so," Eddie shrugged, "I just went inside the kitchen and saw this in there," he gestured to the half-eaten burger on his plate and table.

Now Soos blinked, "Wait, you...found food in the kitchen? Prepared food? Uh...w-was it yours or...?"

"Well...no, but, I was really hungry," Eddie defended himself, "I mean, I didn't see a ticket that anyone ordered this, and...well, I like a good hamburger every once in a while, so...I just decided to eat it."

"Uh...well, um...okay..." Soos scratched his head, a little troubled by that, but nonetheless could understand that. In fact, he was getting a little hungry himself. He looked at his watch to see what time it was right now.

12:00 PM

Wow. Right on the dot.

Soos looked up at Eddie again, "Um...so, do you, uh, do you live here? I mean, this whole town is abandoned, so...um, a-actually, do you happen to know why it's abandoned right now? You're the second person I've seen besides this priest guy at the church here."

"Priest guy?" Eddie asked in confusion, "I, uh, I'm not from this town. I just stopped at a rest stop and walked down some kind of nature path over here. I didn't encounter a church on my way there."

"Rest stop? ...Oh! You mean near the tunnel entrance?"

"Yeah, the one that was blocked off," Eddie said with a nod.

...Soos now looked confused.

"Blocked off? Um... it-it wasn't blocked off when we..." Upon remembering Melanie, his eyes widened as he went back to the important matter at hand, "Oh! Uh, Eddie, listen, I'm-I'm looking for my daughter! Her name is Melanie! She-She's about to turn seven tomorrow, and...well, she's wearing overalls an-and she has her hair in a ponytail! She's my sweet and precious little angel and she's lost! I...I need to find her. Have you seen her anywhere around here by any chance?"

Eddie just looked at him dumbly, "Uhhh...no, I haven't seen your daughter anywhere, man. Like I said, I'm not from here. Sorry..."

"Oh...w-well..." Soos sighed, not letting the feeling of anxiety get to him. "Okay..." he then thought of an interesting question to ask Eddie, since he was wondering, "Uh, Eddie? If you don't mind me asking...if you said you're not from here, then...what are you doing here in Silent Hill?"

All of a sudden Eddie looked uncomfortable as his stance shifted a bit as he looked down at the floor to his right, rubbing the back of his head like a nervous tick, "Uh..."

"I mean, Silent Hill is known as a resort town, so I think you're probably just visiting here for vacation, right? Actually, uh, if this sounds too personal, then I'll stop asking questions, but where do you live?"

"...Uh...I-I live in B-Boston," Eddie answered, "And...well...y-yeah, I came here to just...relax..." Eddie looked like he was starting to ease a bit in his stance, as he continued, "I, uh, I wanted to see what Silent Hill was all about, ya know?"

"Ah, okay! I mean, yeah, this town was a blast to come to when me and my wife were here during our honeymoon! Heh, I think it's more of a honeymoon spot than any, but if you like the old historical New England charm here, then this is the place! Very picturesque!" Soos said with a smile and a thumbs up as he praised the town.

Eddie just nodded as he gave out a somewhat weak smile, "Uh, yeah! It's...nice here...it, um, lets...my problems fade away, honestly..."

Soos also smiled and nodded, but soon his smile faded away as he remembered the objective at hand, "W-Well, while that's true, I...I got to find my daughter. She could be anywhere..."

Frowning at Soos's predicament, Eddie said to him, "Hey, man, I...uh, I...really don't know what's going on with this town myself. I mean, I found a burger in the kitchen when I arrived here. Plus, there's a lot of fog here. But...well, I hope you find your kid."

Appreciating the words, Soos smiled at the other large man beside himself, "Thanks, dude. I'm hopeful, so...I hope I do find her."

Eddie nodded and smiled...but he also asked something else that bothered him a bit, "Did you say that you like, brought your daughter here to this town for her birthday? Like just the two of you?"

Soos's smile started to gradually drop, "Um...y-yeah..."

"Oh...uh..." Eddie once again rubbed the back of his neck as he looked hesitant to ask, but he did anyway, "What, uh...what happened to the Mrs.?"

"...Um..." Now Soos glanced down at the floor, his face expressing...a blank look of despair... "...She..." he closed his eyes and sighed, "She died from an illness."

Now Eddie felt really bad for even bringing it up, as he winced and tried to apologize, "Oh! Uh, s-sorry, man, I-I didn't know! I-I was just curious, I didn't-"

"No, you didn't know...she had like...a rare case of cancer. One that made her body all...all..." Soos took a deep breath and sadly sighed, "...it was really hard for Melanie. She was so scared to look at her mother when the cancer came around four months ago, it going through her system so fast that...my wife began to not look like...my wife...anymore..." he stood there, feeling the emotions whirl into him as he saw his once beautiful wife turning into...shaking his head, Soos got rid of the image and said to Eddie, "Sorry, I...it was a hard time for both of us."

"Hey, man, I'm-I'm really sorry...really," Eddie said, feeling a little guilty, "I'm sorry for your loss, Soos."

Soos nodded sorrowfully, "Thank you...m-...my wife, her name was Melody...she really wanted to go back here, to Silent Hill. She...She even wrote a letter to me before she passed...telling me to bring Melanie here..."

Eddie frowned, "Damn...well...I hope you find your daughter then."

"Hmm..." Soos breathed through his nose and let out a sigh as he stared down at the floor.

The two large men stood there in the diner as they were quiet for the time being...

...Eddie looked behind him, at the burger that he halfway-eaten. Turning back to Soos, he said, "Hey, um...do you, uh..."

Soos looked up at Eddie.

"...Do you want the other half of my burger?" Eddie offered.

The Hispanic man blinked, "Huh? R-..." He looked over Eddie and saw the burger on the plate. "...Really?" he asked looking back at the blonde man.

"I mean, yeah. I think you deserve it after all that's happened to you so far. You might need the energy more than me." Eddie explained.

"W-...Wow, uh...I mean...are you sure?" Soos asked him once more.

"Yeah," Eddie nodded, "I'm, uh...actually trying to watch myself from eating too much...yeah..." he glanced at his stomach poking out.

"Well...okay..." Soos's smile came back, although a little small, "Wow, that's really nice of ya, Eddie. I mean, you didn't have to do that to a stranger."

"Ah, well, just think of it as...well, no offense when I say this, but think of it as like a big guys pact, ya know?" Eddie offered.

"A big guy pact?" Soos raised a peculiar eyebrow, but his smile still remained as he chuckled, "Heh-heh, well, okay then! I mean, I am a big guy, so...yeah, I'll accept it!"

"Heh-heh! Nice, nice!" Eddie chuckled. He then turned his head to his right to look out the window...looking a little nervous all of a sudden, he said, "Um, well, I'll...uh, I'll...just, you know, go then, I guess."

"Huh? Go?" Soos blinked in slight confusion, "Why's that? I mean, maybe you can help me find Melanie!"

"Uh..." Eddie looked almost...unsure...but at the same time, he also looked like he wanted to help...however, he said, "I, uh, I'm sorry, Soos, I...I think it's time for me to head on out."

"Wha-" Soos was about to say something, but Eddie walked past him and began his way to the entrance/exit of the diner, "Wait! Uh..." he wanted to know why Eddie didn't want to help him out, but Eddie didn't seem to be stopping as his walking became a little faster, now reaching the door. Soos, though, couldn't help but shout out, "Uh, okay, but be careful out there, alright, Eddie?!"

Eddie paused when he was about halfway out of the door and turned his head to glance at Soos, replying back to him, "Oh, uh, th-thanks! I'll, uh, I will be! I hope you, uh, find your daughter!" he then walked out of the diner, the door closing behind him.

And once again, Soos was alone...

"...I wonder where Eddie was going...he looked like he was in a hurry..." Soos pondered.

...He turned to the half-finished burger on the plate that Eddie had eaten.

"...Well, I am kind of hungry from all the walking..." Soos's face turned determined, "Yeah...I need to eat something to keep my energy up so that I can find Melanie..." he looked at the sandwich, staring at it...and said, "Well, it's basically lunchtime...and Eddie gave it to me, so...I guess I shouldn't let this to go to waste."

And so, Soos picked up the half-eaten burger (it was compiled with cheese, onion rings, and bacon as well as having double meat patties stacked on each other and having mayo spread on the bun) and started to eat it where he stood.

...Mmm. This is pretty good...I wonder who prepared it?

12:45 PM

After finishing the other half of the burger, Soos exited the diner to try and find his daughter once again.

The fog was still roaming outside, the mist all around him as he walked back onto the street.

As soon as Soos was in the middle of the road, he looked around his surroundings, wondering where to go next...

"...Hm," Soos hummed as he looked down at the asphalt somberly, "While that half of a burger tasted good, it surely didn't make me feel any better..."

Soos looked forward from the path he hadn't taken yet...the upward path he was about to continue onto when he came up to the diner.

"..." Soos sighed soberly, "Well...it's time to find my Melanie..." he frowned just a bit, "I really wished Eddie would have helped me out...I really wonder where he had to go?"

...I guess it doesn't matter. I'm all alone again...

...Alone...

...Shaking his head, Soos just mumbled, "I need to keep going," and walked forward on the road...leaving the diner behind.

"Melanie! Melanie!" Soos called out to her. Deciding to go to the sidewalks and see if she went over to any alleyways, Soos power-walked over to the left side of the street and onto the sidewalk. Upon passing stores and other businesses, Soos checked to see if there were any alleyways, anything to tell him that she might've squeezed through there...

When he didn't see any, he mumbled, "Crud."

He decided to go to the right side of the street's sidewalks and see if there were any alleyways...

When he passed three stores upon seeing no alleyways...his power walk slowed down to a mere simple walk...until he stopped.

"...Just...what am I doing?" Soos said helplessly, "I mean, I...I just don't know what to look for at this point. Where do I even go from here, where do I actually go, where do I start to even look?!" he exclaimed frustratedly at no one, still standing on the sidewalk, "...This...This town, it's...something weird is going on around here, and I just don't know what! I only encountered two people here, the priest guy and Eddie, the whole place is filled with this-with this fog, which wasn't here before when me and...and Melody came here, and..." Soos just ran his hands through his hair and groaned, "Just...someone give me a sign! Anyone! Just anyone! I want to find my daughter! Please, God! I can't lose her!" he shouted out to the Heavens, to anyone who could hear him.

...Silence...nothing but fog and silence...

"...I...I can't lose her...not like how I lost Melody..." Soos pitifully said, a deep frown emerging as his eyes watered up, the tears forming and spilling down on his face as he stood there in despair.

...

...

...

...Soos...

Soos perked up, his whole stance straight up and on alert.

"...What?"

M-...Melody?

...

...

...

...Soos-Dear...

"...Melody?" Soos called out quietly.

He kept going, walking on the sidewalk, trying to locate the voice...

...

...

...

...Soos...where are you...?

"Melody?" Soos called out to her again, "I...I'm..."

Then, as he walked along the sidewalk...

...he reached up to an alleyway.

...Soos? Are you there...?

...Soos looked at the alleyway's entrance...

...It was coming from in there...

"...Melody?" Soos called out, now feeling a little unsure.

Is this...really my wife? My...My late wife?

...Soos. I'm here...I'm waiting...

...He turned to the alleyway and entered through it nonetheless.

He doesn't know why, he just...had to make sure that this voice was really...her...his wife...

As he went inside the alleyway, there was a dumpster and a few trash cans on each side of the walls. Passing them, Soos walked to the end of the lone alleyway, to see that there was a left turn.

...Soos...Soos...

Her voice was getting louder.

...If Soos turned the corner here, he might...he might be able to...reunite...

Standing there, Soos paused in continuing forward.

...Is this...a trick? A-...A trap...even?

...Soos...Soos...

...Hearing Melody's sad voice...her voice of want...

...Soos then proceeded to move forward, turning around the left corner of the alleyway.

He then sees...

...

...

...A trash can with its lid on...but there was something on the lid...

...A radio...

An old-looking portable radio.

...Soos...

...The voice was coming from the radio.

Soos looked at the device on the trash can lid and felt...

...Soos? Honey...are you there?

Snapping out of his despair, Soos blinked and stared at the radio.

"M-...Melody?" Soos said as he took a few steps toward the device.

Once he came close to it, he cautiously picked up the radio and held it in both hands to look at it.

...So-...Ar-...Hon-...Do-...

Melody's voice was breaking up on the radio.

"M-Melody? Melody!?" Soos exclaimed to his supposedly deceased wife.

Then...there was a quiet sound of static through the speakers.

"Melody!" Soos exclaimed once more, desperate to hear her again.

But then...the static grew louder...loud enough to blare through the speakers and make a dull racket, with the additional high and low waves of feedback being inserted into the static as well.

...It wasn't comforting Soos in the slightest.

Then...a peculiar growl came from behind him...

Soos froze.

The static was still blaring.

...Soos slowly turned around his whole body to see what was making the growl.

There in front of him...

...was a...dog...

...he thinks?

This dog looked medium-sized...

It was a...bulldog.

Again, he thinks it was a dog...but...

The 'dog' did look, in fact, like a bulldog, but instead of brown and white colors to its fur, its 'fur' was...gone. It was basically a hairless bulldog, with its peach-white skin being exposed.

But the weirdest and...probably most disturbing feature of this dog, was that it looked too...flappy? Its face had little mouth skin flaps on each side, and that's normal for a bulldog, but on the sides of its torso and ribcage, there were...flaps of almost long skin. Flaps that made it look like it was wearing some kind of coat...in fact, the upper torso of this bulldog's hairless skin looked a lot darker, the color being a blotchy red all over the top of its back, ribcage, and on the side flaps of the ribcages.

It looked like a red coat from how parts of the skin were darkened.

There were also two more things about the dog that made Soos back away from it in shock.

The first thing was the protrusion on the dog's top head. It was a long black cylinder that was poking out of its skull, as well as the bottom of this cylinder, there was a circle surrounding it. It looked like it was a hard material as if it was some kind of horn...but the odd thing about this 'horn' was that it looked like some kind of...top hat...

The second and last thing that he noticed, was that the dog's eyes were...just...dead looking. As in they were glassy...foggy...

Soos felt a little unnerved as he felt like he'd seen this kind of image before...

This...This isn't...I mean, that can't be...what I think it is...is it?

The dog kept growling at Soos, baring its canine teeth as it stood there on its four legs, looking ready to strike, its legs bent and the protrusion on its head aiming directly at him.

Not liking how this...dog thing was positioning itself, Soos was feeling extremely cautious...and maybe even afraid. He stood there still frozen, unsure how to react to something like this.

"Uh...h-hey there little guy...l-little...weird...monster-looking guy...I-I mean, I meant that in the nicest way possible, of-of course!" Soos nervously tried to backtrack what he said, as if the dog understood everything he was saying.

But as the dog kept growling...it started to bark.

AP! AP! AP, AP, AP!

...Soos then realized, that this dog was an old fear he had...a British bulldog...that still traumatizes him to this day.

Eyes widened in horror, Soos gasped in fear.

AP! AP! AP, AP, AP, AP!

Feeling trapped, Soos couldn't think of anything to avoid this bulldog monstrosity.

And the radio was still blaring loudly...

...Until a loud new voice, one that sounded dull and monotone, came through the static.

"FACE IT."

Soos snapped out of his fear and glanced at the radio in his hands.

"Wha-What!?" he exclaimed in question.

"FACE...IT."

"Wha..." Soos looked back at the bulldog (this Hell-Hound?), and before he knew it-

AP!

The Hell-Hound leaped at him!

"AH!" Soos quickly got out of the way of its aim.

The Hell-Hounds 'horn' struck the trashcan.

BANG-CRASH!

It hit the trashcan, sending the can forward to the other side of the small alleyway with a loud clang!

Soos hightailed it out of there.

With the radio still in his hands, his feet going as fast as he could, he ran out of the alleyway and back onto the foggy streets of the town. He turned to his right to try and escape the hell dog that was probably chasing him right now.

However, in his panicked run, he began to notice that the static from the radio in his hands was getting...softer.

But that still didn't stop Soos's running, as he kept going straight...straight onto the street, the fog concealing whatever was being hidden from his eyes.

He hoped he wouldn't run into anything that was a lot more frightening and menacing...especially since he couldn't see anything in this mist.

Soos didn't know how long he ran, but it felt like he was running a marathon...the street feeling like a neverending race.

He ran...and ran...

...until he sees a roadblock.

The street...looked like it was cut off...by some kind of border where the path was ripped apart, making it look like a long pit was separating the other side of the street.

Soos almost ran into the pit, until he skidded to a stop, his whole body weight leaning forward as his feet were practically almost on the edge of the cliff of this roadblock. He found his balance, though, and reeled back to not fall into the pit.

"What!?" Soos staggered back, looking at the unnatural roadblock in shock. "How...what is-?"

And then...the radio started blaring back loud static.

Glancing down at the radio, Soos was wondering what the heck was going on, until-

AP! AP! AP! AP!

AP! AP! AP! AP!

AP! AP! AP! AP!

...There were the sounds of not one...but three of those Hell-Hounds.

Turning around quickly, Soos only gazed in horror as he heard the strange barking come even closer.

Then, he saw their silhouettes in the fog. All three of them...

The Hell-Hounds came closer, making themselves known, their appearances still engraved in Soos's mind.

And the radio was still blaring even louder static.

Soos briefly realized something about the radio. Whenever there was any trouble like these monstrous bulldogs coming through to chase him, the device would blare louder with static...

O-Okay, that's helpful. I-uh, I totally might need this! So I can, uh...avoid these things...y-yeah! L-Like right now!

...Soos stood there frozen...

The Hell-Hounds are coming closer, growling as they bared their teeth and lowered their black 'horns' at Soos...

...Oh crap! I can't avoid them! What do I-

Then, one of the dogs leaped at him.

"ACK!" Soos barely dodged one as he moved quickly to his left. The dog almost got him with its horn, but as it soon landed, it skidded to the edge of the pit, and thanks to its body weight, it fell in with a yelp.

AYYY!

With one down (literally), Soos had to deal with two more of these Hell-Hounds.

As he was trying to regain his balance, one of the two hounds sprinted toward him and jumped at Soos when it got close. The dog opened its mouth, showing its canines as it neared one of Soos's arms.

Soos, on instinct, and from remembering one of his favorite games that he liked to play back at his Grandma Abuelita's when she was alive, he struck the dog with his free fist while the other one was holding the radio.

WHAM!

AIIIE-AYYY!

The Hell-Hound flew to the left of Soos and rolled on the asphalt as it landed on the ground, not moving as it was most likely either unconscious or dead.

Before Soos could feel proud and congratulate himself, though, a pain emerged in his right leg.

"AAAH!" Soos hollered out in pain.

Looking down, it was the third Hell-Hound. It sunk its sharp teeth into Soos's jeaned leg.

"UGH!" Soos groaned in agony.

The dog gnawed at Soos's leg, the animal thrashing around like it was a mad dog...which in some cases, it might as well be.

It was then Soos thought quickly and grabbed the black top hat 'horn' from the dog's skull, and pulled the animal off (the top hat horn actually feeling, surprisingly, really hard) with all his might. The Hell-Hound was still latching onto Soos's leg, but thanks to the man's raw determination and strength, he pulled the dog's mouth off of his leg, the animal ripping a part of his jeans as well as part of his skin underneath his pant leg.

Gritting his teeth hard as he ignored the extreme pain, Soos, now holding the Hell-Hound in his right hand by the horn, reared his arm back and threw the dog right into the pit roadblock, making its odd cry as it went in.

AYYYEE!

Soos grunted in pain as he grasped his right calf with his right hand, the pain shooting through the wound that the Hell-Hound took a bite out of.

From the sticky feeling that he felt when he grasped his leg, it seemed that blood was seeping out of his wound.

"Ah...crap," Soos swore as he gritted at the sting on the flesh of his calf, "I-I got get some first aid..."

He stood back up and tried to walk back where he was on his injured leg. Briefly, he noticed that the radio in his left hand, with its loud static once blaring, was going away...the device went quiet...

Ah, okay. So either I did knock out that one dog creature, or...I…

Soos shook his head and kept limping as he walked, "No. Don't think about it. It-It was some kind of...some kind of monster. A dog monster! I mean, even if you did, it-it wasn't-" he grunted at the pain as he limped back the way he came.

Not letting that thought linger any longer, he kept limping forward onto the street through the fog...

...But still, what kind of dog was that? Was it like...a franken-dog? Heh, that sounds...that sounds like a pretty good hot dog...yeah...

As he tried to keep himself going with some kind of positivity, he then pocketed the radio into his left jeans pocket, but not before he checked the volume on the thing before he did so, as to hear the static when other supposed dog monsters would come at him.

So far, the radio was silent...it was silent as he limped down the street...

...Everything was silent...silent in the fog, silent in the street, silent in the town...

Soos limped his way to an intersection he passed while escaping that one Hell-Hound...

...Come to think of it, Soos left one back there...was one of the three dogs that same dog he left back at the alleyway? Or will it...come back to get him?

Damn it, Soos, not now! You...You need to find Melanie! Wherever she may be, I just...I need to find her! I don't...I don't know what's happening in this town, but all I know is, is that I don't think it's safe here anymore! Which means Melanie could be hurt around here! I just...I mean, what happened around here? There were definitely not any killer monster dogs in SIlent Hill back when Melody...and I...

Shaking his head and gritting his teeth through the pain in his leg, he decided to take a right off the intersection. Upon going in that direction, Soos briefly looked up at the street name above him.

Harmony Road

"...I need some harmony right now...heh..." Soos mumbled with a humorless chuckle.

He continued on the road, limping all the way...

However, while he walked/limped his way down the road, the wound on his leg was likely dripping with blood, causing a trial on the asphalt...

His leg was also still in bad shape, but Soos just kept going...

He kept going to find his daughter...

...The radio then started to hum...

Soos stopped...his eyes wide.

"...Oh no..." he muttered.

Please no...don't let it get louder...

…Soos's plea fell on deaf ears as the hum grew into static...and the static grew louder.

No! Damn it, no! M-My leg, it-it needs medical attention!

Soos then sped up, the limping turning into some forced walking as he gritted his teeth through the pain. The adrenaline was coursing through, letting him awkwardly shuffle his way down the road for around a minute...

While he was trying to get away from whatever he was getting away from, he briefly thought of what it could be as he tried to run.

Oh man, if I did leave that dog thing back there in the alleyway, it might want a piece of my other leg! If that's the case, then that one was coming back for revenge! And I killed his buddies so...

...But then, Soos noticed something as he ran.

...Wait...would those...dogs gotten me by now?

The static grew a bit louder.

...That's...That's not a dog chasing me, is it?

...The static now grew even louder.

Running out of breath, Soos just kept going, limping as he was probably making his injured leg worse from all the running.

...The static was blaring loudly.

And then-

Hey amigo!

"Wha-!?" Soos then tripped on his own feet and fell on the asphalt, landing on his stomach and hitting his forehead on the road. "Ugh!" he exclaimed, the pain shooting into his leg as he tripped.

...It was then he heard footsteps...

Actual...footsteps.

Soos tried to stand, desperately trying to get up with one working leg and an injured one. His eyes closed while he forced himself up, the agony in his leg feeling too great all of a sudden.

Oi, Soos, amigo! What happened, son!?

...The voice...sounded oddly familiar...

...His eyes opened up wide, his facial expression looking shocked.

He then fell to the ground, his attempt at trying to get up failed.

Soos, Buddy, you need me to help you up?

...The voice was behind Soos...

...He tried again, still trying to get up as he grunted his way back up to his feet. His eyes were closed again, albeit tightly, almost as if he didn't want to look at whoever wanted to help him...

"...I...I'm fine..." Soos said, his tone dull, devoid of emotion.

Are you sure? You want me to help you, amigo?

"...No..." Soos gritted his teeth, not out of pain, but out of anger.

Aww, come on, champ. I'm here for you, eh?

"...You were never there for me..." Soos said in a surprisingly dark tone.

Hey now, son...don't talk to your father like that.

Rage seethed into Soos's expression as he spat out, "You weren't even there for my wedding."

...Soos...are you alright, son?

Soos bit the insides of his lips as he tried not to yell, to holler, to outright scream at the man who was posing as...

"...Just go, will you? What makes you think you can just waltz back into my life now?"

...

"..." Soos scoffed, not once turning to look behind him, "I won't ask for your help, either. I'm going to find my daughter, and when I do, I will never leave her...I'll be the best damn Dad that I will ever be...a lot better than you ever were."

...

"...Well? What do you say about that, Dad?" Soos sneered as he looked ahead of the fog, not giving his father the pleasure to look at him.

...I think you need to rest, son...your leg doesn't look too good.

For some reason, that set Soos off.

"Oh, NOW you're concerned!? NOW you're there to help!? NOW you want to be a father, when you never went to my birthdays, to my graduation, to my wedding, and even to the birth of your own granddaughter!? NOW YOU WANT TO BE A DAD!?"

...

"...WELL!? ANSWER ME!"

...

"..." Soos just clenched his fists, his teeth gritted as his eyes became wet as he closed them...

He broke down...whimpering and slightly sobbing...

...Why are you here, son?

Upon hearing that...Soos stopped crying.

"...What?" Soos said as a couple of tears went down his eyes.

...

...Soos, against his better judgment, turned his whole body to see...

...No one...

No one but him and the fog...

"..." Soos then turned his whole body back onto his stomach, as well as on his hands...

...Until he sees a towering figure in his view.

Surprised, he looked up at this person...

...Only to be met with a strong fist to his head.

WHAAAM!

And this is a terrible place to stop, I know. But just know that Soos is absolutely fine! We'll get back to him later, alright? ;)

I hope one of Soos's monsters the Hell-Hounds was a little okay, since they represent his fear of a British bulldog or something. X)

But yeah, tell me what you all think of this chapter! I love to know! :D

Thank you all for reading and keep on rocking everybody! :)
