Chapter 5
As the evening rolled around, Angel decided to invite her brother Derek. Lena hung around the graveyard with Spike, waiting on her brother and Angel. They had a couple of vampires they killed while waiting. It always seemed like Spike was the sweetest to her when it was just them.
"You're quiet tonight. Are you alright?" Spike sat on one of the benches of the graves right next to her.
"A little tired, could use some alcohol. Want to go home and lay down," she sighed.
"Sounds good, I sense there's something on your mind," Spike said, a little concerned.
"Ever since what happened last night with us and thinking about how much you've been there for me shows how much you care. You didn't have to help me, but you did. You were there when I didn't expect you to be but glad you were there." Her hand brushed along his cheek.
He took her hand, kissing it. "I wanted to be."
"I love you, I thought I needed time, but I was wrong," Lena admitted.
That meant everything to him hearing that. Spike wanted nothing more than to be loved back. He felt like the only other woman who truly loved him was his mother. Now, the one thing that he hoped for was happening.
His hand brushed along her face as he leaned in kissing her. The only thing he felt was happiness. This lasted a while until she pulled away looking at him. "This is the happiest I felt in a long time," Spike said, appreciating what she said.
Lena slowly pulled out a stake from Spike's long jacket pocket. She slowly moved back, seeing a vampire behind him. Spike saw the stake in her hand, looking like she was going to kill him. Then she pushed him out of the way, staking the vampire behind him.
"Bloody hell, a warning would have been nice. I thought you were going for me," Spike said, getting up.
"If I wanted to, I would have already," Lena got close to him.
"Sorry, I was waiting on your brother," Angel came up behind them.
Derek came over to them after he hung up his phone. "Sorry, I had a phone call. Getting to know a chick."
"You're here now, and already you're browsing for women? "Lena rolled her eyes at her brother.
"Well, you know," Derek shrugged.
"Sounds like to me love a man's got needs too," Spike chimed in.
"Shut up," Lena said, half annoyed
Spike and Derek couldn't help but chuckle. Angel ignored them as he kept walking. "Have any idea how many slayers are left?" Lena asked Angel.
"You and Buffy may be a few others. There aren't many after most have been killed off."
"I'm not sure if I count fully having half vampire in me. I don't drink blood. At least I don't think I do. I'm stronger than the normal slayer. I don't know what I'm capable of," Lena said, unsure.
"We can find out for sure," Angel assured her.
They finally made it to the scene, noticing they had cleaned everything up. "We made it, mate. What do we do now?" Spike wondered.
"We wait." Angel said, standing there waiting for something to happen.
Lena stood there, not too fond of waiting. Derek was on the ground, opening a bag of chips from his jacket pocket. He made a loud crunch, causing everyone to look at him.
"Really now?" Lena asked, annoyed at her brother.
Then, a noise came from the darkness, causing them all to look over. Lena took a step towards the noise. Derek tossed her one of his guns as she caught it, pointing it in that direction.
"Nice gun," Spike noticed her pointing it.
"Not your typical gun. It's meant for any sort of demon or vampire," Lena answered him.
Nothing seemed to be happening until she saw a couple of vampires coming towards them. When she pulled the trigger, the bullet went through one of them, causing them to catch on fire so fast and turn to ash, not giving them enough time to feel pain.
"There was something here, and whatever it was, it went away," Angel replied.
Derek went after the other vampire, staking that one catching them off guard.
"Where in bloody hell did you get that kind of weapon?" Spike asked Derek.
"There is a certain part of the military that was able to create a bullet that would kill a vampire instantly. I have access to them when I need them. When they tried to come forward with it being a way to kill vampires, no one believed them. They got shut down, and the supplies are stored away," Derek explained.
Spike remembered the chip in his head not being too fond of the military. Lena had been able to sneak away and get closer to the location, seeing a storage building.
Angel eventually ignored the conversation, noticing Lena was gone. "Guys, we can talk about this later. Lena is not standing with us," Angel said, trying to keep them on track.
"She's still around. I sense her. Let's catch up, shall we," Spike started heading towards her direction. He was quiet trying to figure out which direction Lena went. "You know it ain't nice to wonder off without me, love," Spike spoke, looking around in the dark.
He then heard fighting on the other side, quickly rushing over there. Lena was fighting some sort of a demon all in black. Angel heard something running over to help.
Spike went behind the demon, finding a chain of some sort wrapping it around his neck, trying to choke him. He was trying to get Spike off him, and Lena was quick enough to find a large object long enough driving it through them. Blood was coming out of him until he passed out.
Angel walked over to it, wondering what it was. "Why didn't it turn to dust?"
"I'm not sure. Maybe my theory was right." Lena replied.
Spike knew what she was talking about looking at her. In some way, Spike had a feeling she may be right.
"What theory?" Angel asked Lena.
"Let's get out of here first, and I can explain." They left their location heading to Lena's apartment. Angel had never been there noticing how big the place was.
"Nice place," Angel said, admiring the space.
"For someone who only eats and sleeps, thanks. So, my theory was there could be some sort of new batch of vampires harder to kill newer generation sort of thing," Lena handed Angel her brothers book of vampires. It explained the different kinds and all about their strengths and weaknesses.
Angel looked through it, finding it interesting. Spike sat next to Lena on the couch. Derek was going over how to read it with Angel. Lena felt Spike's arm around her. She turned to look at him, lying her head on his shoulder. "You look tuckered out, pet," Spike kissed the top of her head.
"A little, just using my brain too much helping Angel with stuff," Lena said, stretching.
"This is amazing. It shows different breeds of vampires," Angel said, impressed.
"There's no proof they actually exist," Spike said, not too impressed.
"Hey, can I stay with you until I get my own place?" Derek asked his sister.
"You get the spare room. The closet is empty to store stuff." Lena tossed him the extra key on her key ring.
"My friend is coming by to drop off my stuff tomorrow." Derek said, catching the key, putting it on his set of keys.
"I'm going to head home before it gets dark. I'll see you in the office about one," Angel looked at Lena.
They said their goodbyes, and Lena excused herself from her brother and Spike. "Seeing you from another time shows you will treat her better than the guys now," Derek spoke.
"My first relationship was with the one who made me. I've had a relationship or at least tried and failed. I even fought for my soul to try to see if she would want to be with me. No matter what I did, it wasn't enough to prove myself," Spike explained.
"Vampires are usually soulless?"
"Yes, except for Angel being cursed with one and myself for fighting for it. When I met your sister, it was when I was living in the graveyard with a giant room. I saw her fighting learning she was a slayer. There aren't many mate, many were killed off by other vampires or demons." Spike got up grabbing blood from the fridge he left in there, warming it up in the microwave.
"My sister didn't give you any trouble?" Derek wondered.
"Maybe at first, we fought until she realized I wasn't so easy to kill. Then she would fight, and I would be there. Not once did she tell me to get lost. The one thing that stood out the most was her kindness. She respected me unlike most slayers," Spike said, remembering what he went through with Buffy.
"My sister is a good person and will do anything for you. I'm glad she has you. You have the strength to protect her." Lena came in the room seeing them talking.
"I'm heading to bed," she yawned.
"I should too. Night guys," Derek said, getting up and going to the spare room.
Spike got up, following her into her room. He shut and locked the door behind him. She wore long sleeveless white pajamas. Spike walked up to her seeing some of the street light shin going through the closed blinds. Their lips met as they kissed one another deeply. Closed were removed tossed on the floor as they made it to the bed. Their lovemaking was very passionate and loving. Spike found himself doing things to please her and himself.
Lena was able to return the favor. Not once did he take his eyes off her. Things started to intensify as he thrusted into her more. Her moans filled the room more so than his. Eventually, they found their release, and he shifted to get off her snuggling up, getting close to her.
"You are a charmer," Lena said, looking at him.
"Darling, no woman has seen this side of me before because they wouldn't give me a chance to show them the loving man I can be. You're the only one that has," he said, holding her.
"I love you," she said, looking into his eyes.
"I love you more than anything in the world." Lena had to get used to Spike being romantic. She couldn't blame him for trying, seeing he never got the chance to really show anyone.
"So this would be you before you became a vampire?" Lena wondered.
"Yes, I've adapted so much to things now that it makes it hard to tell." Spike knew time has changed him, but it didn't stop him from trying to be romantic even if it did sound a little cheesy at times, reminding him of his bad poetry.
They fell asleep, but if Spike woke up, he would watch her sleep feeling like the happiest man in the world. The morning seems to arrive quickly. Lena awoke to Spike dozed off next to her.
Lena sat up with the blankets around her. She got out of bed, putting the other loose blanket around her from her chair in the room. Her phone was on the chair as she picked it up, going through it. She then felt arms wrap around her waist.
"Morning love," Spike kissed her cheek.
"You're lucky I knew it was you. I could have chosen to throw you on the ground," Lena turned to look at him.
"Morning to you to pet, you sleep on the bloody wrong side of the bed?" Spike kept his eyes on her.
He sat up on the bed as Lena faced him. Spike set her on him until he leaned in, kissing her lips. Whatever she was wrapped up in fell to the ground. He felt her wetness up against him, positioning himself to easily slide in. A moan came from her lips as she started riding him.
"Spike." she said as she rode him. "Make me yours, baby."
Spike would, but at this point, he didn't because he wanted her to know for sure. They found their release as held by her. "You sure that's what you want? I'm not opposed to it, but when I claim you, you're mine."
"Were you going to claim me anyway?"
"Yes."
They both kissed a little more and got up to get in the shower. Spike stayed there waiting for Lena to get ready. She came out dressed in black pants and a nice short sleeve red shirt. Her hair was down pulled to the sides, and she was wearing makeup.
Spike saw her as she put on her necklace and earrings. "You brush up well, pet."
"I found this on the floor." Lena handed him his chain necklace.
"I was bloody looking for that," Spike said, surprised she found it.
They both walked and put the door. Spike took a different way to avoid sunlight. Lena stopped to grab coffee and then headed into the office. Derek was at the elevator door when her doors opened.
"I brought a friend with me," Derek replied.
"Who?" Lena wondered.
He came out of the bathroom, and it was the guy who was built with blonde hair. "Riley?" Lena said, surprised to see him.
"It's been a long time," he said nicely.
Not long after, Spike came from another direction recognizing Riley. "Well, look what the cat dragged in."
"Spike," Riley said, not surprised to see him.
"Guess you met my other half," Spike stood next to her.
"You're with him?" Riley looked at her a little disgusted.
"He's got a soul now," Lena added.
Last I remember, you were all over Buffy," Riley reminded him.
Spike rolled his eyes. "I'm over her now. It's been a few years."
Angel came out of his office immediately recognizing Riley. "What's he doing here?"
"Friend of Derek's," Angel stepped in front of her, not too happy he was there.
"Derek, him and I had a not so good history," Angel said, warning him.
"Yeah, with Buffy." Riley added.
Lena felt a little confused. "Wait a second, you all had a thing for her?"
"Yeah, something like that. Spike was all about her then Angel." Riley answered her.
"Get out of here," Angel warned him.
"Wait, you knew Angel?" Derek asked Riley.
"Yes, not the best circumstances." Angel went to go towards Riley, and Lena got in between pushing Angel away.
"Stop it, both of you and Derek get him out of here," Lena ordered.
"You two office," Lena looked at both Angel and Spike.
Angel and Spike both followed her back to Angel's office. She shut the door behind both of them. "So, who was with Buffy first?"
"I was, then she dated that guy," Angel answered her.
"Spike," Lena said his name in a firm tone.
"I told you why I got my soul. We never really were together. There were many bloody failed attempts."
Lena felt a little like being the sloppy seconds. "A little warning would have been nice."
"It doesn't matter anymore. We've moved on," Angel said, explaining.
"He's bloody right, love. I'm in love with the most beautiful woman," Spike said, getting close to her. He took her hand in his kissing it.
Lena got close to him, wrapping her arms around him and pulling him in a hug. It was the first time Angel had heard Spike be honest about something in quite some time.
