Luz was starting to feel as though Eda wasn't understanding that she could help her out while Maxwell felt as though they needed to hear Eda out.
"You're... you're sending us away? But we can help! Why don't you get that yet?!" said Luz starting to get upset.
"We should hear Eda out but not here. This is not the time and place for this. I'm sensing a guard is near." Maxwell advised with a word of warning.
Luz couldn't contain her upset feelings as she spoke loud enough for a coven guard to hear them as Luz ranted off when she yelled out "CALL RAINE BACK! TELL THEM THERE'S NO PACKAGE TO RECEIVE! WE'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE UNTIL BELOS IS DEFEATED!" but the guard saw their shadows through the windows which the guard ran off to alert the others.
"We need to calm down. The guard has just ran off and reinforcements is coming. We have to go now." said Maxwell trying to keep their voices down. "Come on, we should at least hear Eda out."
After a long pause. Eda felt like her heart hurt enough from what she's doing and her heart emotionally hurt more with her next response.
"No. There's a reason." said Eda regretfully.
"After everything we've been through, I can't believe you're still underestimating me. Fine. Let's just get back to King." said Luz walking off in frustration.
"Luz, wait a minute. Let's hear Eda out. It's not what you think it is." Maxwell said attempting to calm Luz to get her to listen to reason. "Eda, please, do something. We can't fall apart."
As Luz was halfway down the flight of stairs. Eda flew out of the window with a crash as she turned into her Harpy mode while Maxwell ran down the stairs to catch up to Luz. Eda flew and landed in front of the two teenagers. Maxwell's heart was pounding from slight fear but at the same time he was wanting to hear Eda out and wanted Luz to do the same.
"You're going with Raine. They'll keep you both safe!" said Eda now trying to reason with Luz and Maxwell.
"You have a reason for this, do you?" Maxwell guessed as he knew the truth. "Luz, please hear Eda out. It's not what you think."
"You can't make me." said Luz pulling out a slip of paper that turned out to be an ice glyph.
"Yes I can." said Eda looking as though she really didn't want to do this.
"Luz, wait, don't do it!" Maxwell cried out.
Luz wasn't listening as tears formed in her eyes and slapped the ice glyph on one of the steps of the stairs which an ice pillar nearly hit Eda in the eye but stopped, missing her face by several inches. Luz began to use Eda's staff to fly off over a few boxes while Maxwell formed huge wings on his back to fly after Eda and Luz while Eda flew towards Luz to stop her.
"Eda, Luz, stop!" Maxwell cried out as a tear formed in his eyes.
As Luz tried to fly off with Eda's staff. Eda commanded Owlbert to stop which he obeyed and Luz began to fall towards the floor but Maxwell used a spell to create a force field around Luz's body to make sure she had a safe landing on the floor. After the force field disappeared, Eda flew towards an angry Luz.
"You two, stop! I beg of you!" Maxwell cried out.
As Eda flew towards Luz. That's when Luz pulled out another glyph and it was a light glyph as she tapped it and a bright flash of light blinded Eda which once the bright light disappeared. She saw that Luz wasn't anywhere to be seen but she walked around to find her. Maxwell's heart was breaking as he flew down to get in front of Eda.
"Eda, please, talk to Luz about it. Telling her the truth would be a better option. This constant fighting, arguing and leaving things unresolved is going to do no good." Maxwell pleaded.
"She wouldn't understand. I want her to understand but this would only make her believe that I didn't trust her when I do trust her. Do not disobey me, young man." said Eda as if issuing authority.
Maxwell tried to obey Eda but something bigger inside him told him otherwise. He had tears forming in his eyes more and they began to leak out of his eyes.
"Talk to her, Eda. It's the only way." said Maxwell trying not to break down.
Eda and Maxwell could hear Luz's footsteps and they turned to see Luz reappear as she let out a breath, she used an invisibility glyph which she was within running distance of Eda and Maxwell.
"Eda please! I lost my mother, now Daston is dead too. Daston may have done a lot wrong but Belos killed him in cold blood. Just please talk to Luz, it's the only option that'll clear things up. I can't lose you and Luz." Maxwell begged.
As Eda saw Luz attempt to run and she decided to go for Maxwell's suggestion which she flew towards her while Maxwell ran toward the both them. Eda got into front of Luz and blocked her exit while she had a remorseful expression.
"Luz, please!" Eda implored.
Luz, still stubbornly resisting her, pulled out another ice glyph and slapped it on the floor which created an ice trail on the floor which she used to slide down on it, going beneath Eda like a baseball player sliding towards home plate.
"Maxie, force field her!" Eda instructed.
Eda punched the ice trail, destroying it while a force field formed around Luz as she stopped sliding but safely stopped her which she stopped as well. Luz looked up at Eda when the force field dissipated from Luz. Eda looked down at Luz with remorse.
"Raine will be here soon. I'll have King join you afterwards. Maxie will be with you as well. There's a reason for this and it breaks me to have to do this." Eda said showing remorse on her face.
"But we can help with your plan! I'll be willing to hear you out if you're able to comply with me." said Luz tears in her eyes.
"Please, talk it out!" Maxwell implored.
"It's time to go." said Eda holding her clawed hand out for Luz to take hold of.
That's when Maxwell sensed the brainwaves of others nearby and saw some of them coming towards them from behind Eda.
"Behind you!" Maxwell called as he pulled out his gun-blade.
The female guard captain attempted to blast Eda with a huge ray of cyan energy but Maxwell whistled loudly to cancel it out. Eda and Luz saw the female guard captain.
"Hands up, Owl Lady!" the female guard captain directed. "Southern Gentleman, you too!"
Maxwell had his gun-blade pointed at the female guard captain but then gotten an idea. He pulled the trigger to his weapon and shots were fired at the two Abomatons that were brought with them and a round hit both of them, causing the Abomatons to explode while a force field formed around everyone to shield them from the debris.
A male coven scout came from behind Luz after the force fields disappeared and the male coven scout used a glowing cyan blue net to capture Luz while another did the same thing to Eda when he back was turned but Maxwell used his gun-blade and formed a free hand to look like a gun as a blue ball of light was glowing on the index fingertip of his right hand. He had the gun-blade and his other hand pointing in both directions.
"Leave them alone and if you so much as touch them. I'll open fire on all of you." Maxwell threatened.
"I think we got the drop on you, young man." the female guard captain reiterated.
"Come anywhere near me, my sister or my wife. I promise I'll strike you all down like the Lord does to those that threaten to make the world burn with the hell fire with their hate and violence and sin. And I will become as mighty and merciless as the Lord when he strikes down upon those with great vengeance and furious anger upon those who attempt to poison and destroy their brothers and sisters. And you will know my name is Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!" Maxwell ranted with a threat.
The female guard captain was silent for a long moment while she suddenly had a suggestion to comply while at the same time take all three of them in. She raised a hand up to make a gesture for the coven scouts to comply. They removed the nets from Luz and Eda but placed handcuffs on them.
"If you, your sister and your wife come quietly. We'll keep any harmful hands, fingers and magic off all of you but you're to come quietly." the female guard captain instructed with some slight reassurance. "Everyone, do not call them any of the "you know what" words. Don't say or do anything that'll make things worse."
As Eda, Luz and Maxwell saw they were completely surrounded. They were forced to comply as the coven scouts and the female guard captain escorted them to where they'd take them off to.
"Not going to lie. Your disguise was very convincing." said the female guard captain. "How are you able to destroy the 2.0 models of the Abomatons so easily?"
"Sorry to say this madam but if you're coven scouts are forbidden to say anything to me, my sister and my wife. The same should apply to you too. Nothing against you personally." Maxwell kindly warned. "Weapons and magic much stronger than the Abomatons will always take them down. It's like bringing a knife to a gun fight. My magic and my weapons are the gun. The Abomatons are the knife. The gun always wins."
"Taken a mental note on that. Gentleman, no use of aggressive force will be needed." the female guard captain instructed.
It wasn't long till Maxwell began to feel as though there was one hope left for them and he knew what he had to do as he began to try and reach someone with his mind as he began to communicate with one person as he telepathically called out "Raine, it's me, Maxwell, me, Eda and Luz have been captured by the Emperor's ruffians. I don't know if you can hear me but if you can hear me. Please, help us Raine"
Back in a peaceful part of the Boiling Isles
Steve, King and Maxwell's shadow copy were sitting down near what looked like a fast-food restaurant. Maxwell's shadow copy had devoured his burger and fries and downed his drink which he drank lemonade. Steve took a bite or more of his burger and was enjoying himself while King was pushing around some of his fries in the pile of ketchup in his plastic basket that carried his food. King still had a saddened face while he saw a type of caterpillar like bug exploring the paper folded figure he had near him.
"So that's the story of Noah's Ark?" said Steve sounding as though what Maxwell's shadow copy told him was something that could inspire him.
"Yes, so many people believe that God's wrath and anger is something that can't be changed but everyone often forgets that God is not a god of wrath and anger. But if one repents of their sins to God, ask for forgiveness, pray for others and what they need, thank God for everything in your life and pray for yourself when you know you need God. That God can become their savior and extends his mercy to those who repent of their sins and confess them to Him. God's not a god of wrath and anger, no, God is someone who wants us to be part of the greater good as he knows that being part of evil will lead us to a place he dare not want us to be in." Maxwell's shadow copy explained. "There are things God approves of but also things he doesn't approve of. Blaspheming is one of those things God disapproves of but turning to God for help in every situation in your life as you go through life itself so that you can build your faith with God and become closer to him, not that's something God approves of as well as waits for us to do so."
"But what if there's something we don't understand about God, his ways and all that comes with it?" said Steve.
"It's just like they've said about God. He works in strange and mysterious ways. Some things in life happen that can be a blessing in disguise. When I first came to the Boiling Isles. I was like a little kid on his first day of school. Shy, afraid and didn't know anything about the demon realm. But once I met Eda, Luz, King, Hooty. I was no longer flying blind." said Maxwell's shadow copy helping Steve understand his question. "All the good that came out of coming here. I thank God for that."
Steve felt like Maxwell's shadow copy's words were of great wisdom and yet he felt like the kid was actually smarter than him but he wasn't bothered by that. He felt like that if he were to give "God" a chance and see where it takes him. He felt like it would be a leap of faith but he'd try it out and see where it goes. If Maxwell or even his shadow copy has stated how his faith lead him this far, then Steve felt maybe he could give his faith a chance. He suddenly looked at King who looked a bit depressed while Maxwell's shadow copy also noticed King's depressed facial expression.
"Hey, uh, your drink's gettin' warm." said Steve looking worried.
"King, everything alright, hermanito?" asked Maxwell's shadow copy looking worried.
King placed his paper basket of food down beside him which there wasn't much left of it by then. He looked at both Steve and Maxwell's shadow copy.
"You know, Steve, Maxie, I always wanted to have power and command respect and fear! So, now that I kinda have all that, why does my stomach feel all... ugh? Like when Maxie had sugar and sweets for the first time when he had a little too much." said King appearing as though he was asking about something much deeper than anyone could think of.
Steve looked at Maxwell's shadow copy for a moment and the shadow copy shown King was right about something.
"The first time I had sugary sweets. I went a little crazy but then later on that day by the end of it. I had a sugar crash and felt like I had to lay down." Maxwell's shadow copy confirmed.
Steve looked at King, then at Maxwell's shadow copy and back at King.
"Wants can change, so can people. That's how I felt when I joined the Emperor's Coven. It was something I always wanted to do. But than once I had what I wanted, for a while, I thought I was doing something good. But than once Luz, Eda, Lilith, even Hooty, and even Maxie and all of your friends started to make a positive change in each other's lives as well as others, started to help others see both the light and the truth, seeing how much Maxie and Eda fallen in love and all the good that all of you were doing, even from what Maxie has told me and shown me. I started to think that what I'm doing as part of the Emperor's Coven or part of any coven for that matter might not be right and what Belos had me doing was not what I wanted to do." said Steve showing what he's been realizing.
"So you're no longer part of the Emperor's Coven, correct?" said Maxwell's shadow copy guessing the truth.
"Yes sir." answered Steve. "I even tried praying to God for once and asked him what he wanted me to do or if I should leave the Emperor's Coven."
"Did he answer?" asked Maxwell's shadow copy.
"Oddly, he gave me a sign I believe. I took a day to just ride on my motorcycle and it help clear my head as I started to think about my life choices, everything I've done before you and Luz came into the lives of others and all the good you've done for others, and all that Belos had me and others do for him. And I just didn't want to be part of something that had me doing bad things to good people. So I just quit the Emperor's Coven and I feel like a better man for it." said Steve explaining how he saw the light. "What about you, little dude? What change have you experienced?"
As the wind was blowing lightly. The paper figure that King made fell over and the purple roly-poly bug curled up to shield itself, making a squeak like sound. King took hold of the bug and held it in his hands as if he was trying to show a gentler nature.
"I don't want people to see me as a big scary monster anymore." said King.
King and Maxwell's shadow copy turned to see Steve took off his helmet and he held his helmet out at King which King placed the bug in the helmet that Steve had with him. He pulled the helmet back towards him and as he shown to be having a gentler nature as well when looking at the bug. Steve shown without his helmet, he appeared to be a humanoid like witch with a pinkish complexion, pointed ears, blue eyes, thick eyebrows, and dark purple hair that was kept short, neat and trimmed. He had two moles on his left cheek and one on his right. He had a short, bone-white horn sticking out of the right side of his forehead.
He seemed to look similar to Mattholomule in the face but he didn't have a creepy, gremlin like face. Steve had more of a gentle natured face while Mattholomule had more of a creepy, smug, gremlin like face with a smug grin, the two of them had different colored eyes, Steve had a friendlier face than Mattholomule's smug like gremlin face that creeped others out. Steve had to be Mattholomule's older half-brother. Steve did have a bit more hair than Mattholomule did but not by much.
"Me neither." said Steve with a gentle smile.
King shown a smile in return. Which Steve looked back at Maxwell's shadow copy who had a gentle expression on his face as he had a smile as well. But his smile faded instantly when he sensed some familiar minds of people nearby.
"We got company." said Maxwell's shadow copy looking forwards.
"Unhand them, you coven shill!" came a woman's voice.
They turned to see it was Lilith who had her staff in both hands, the palisman glowing as she was ready to fight against Steve and so was Hooty while the other shadow copy suddenly realized who they were looking at.
"It's alright, Lilith, Hooty. It's only Steve. He hasn't harmed King or the other shadow copy." said the other shadow copy appearing to be calm.
Lilith and Hooty looked at who they were in front of but saw it was only Steve, King and another one of Maxwell's shadow copies. She lowered her staff and the palisman was no longer glowing a bright white light. She had a confused expression.
"Steve?" said Lilith looking confused but feeling somewhat relieved.
King got up and attempted to vouch for Steve.
"It's okay, it's okay! He's not a scout anymore! Did I read that right?" reassured King while looking at Steve.
Steve gave a nod of approval.
"He finally saw the light and I'm proud to see him as one of my own." reassured Maxwell's shadow copy.
Lilith approached them as she had a nervous grin on her face which turned to a smile of pride.
"Nevertheless. Let me shield you with my pitiful life, oh powerful—" Lilith began as if bowing down to a God.
"Stop! I'm still King, King! Isn't this how you acted with the Emperor?" King interrupted while appearing sharp at first but now noticing something concerning about Lilith. "I'm sensing a little bit of a pattern with you."
"Hey, girl, I've been there! I can recommend a good therapist!" Steve reassured while sympathizing.
Lilith looked on with subtle realization and blushed. She apparently knew that King was right. Hooty looked on at Steve with distrust.
"HE'S TRICKING YOU! ATTACK PLAN ACTIVATED!" cried Hooty about to attack.
"Hooty! Stand down!" said Maxwell's shadow copy that now stood in front of Steve as if acting like a human shield. He was speaking in a deep and demonic voice.
Hooty stopped halfway when he was about to attack Steve but stopped halfway once in front of Maxwell's shadow copy.
"Hooty, calm down. Steve is on our side now. I've delved into his mind, we spent some time with him and he's repented his sins as well as confessed them. He's officially quit the Emperor's Coven." Maxwell's shadow copy calmly reassured now speaking in his real voice. "Steve isn't the person he once was. He's become someone the good lord wants him to be."
After a moment, Hooty looked at Steve, then at King who nodded, then back at Maxwell's shadow copy. Hooty let out a sigh and stopped his attack.
"You've been with Lilith this whole time?" asked Maxwell's shadow copy.
"Yes. So was your other shadow copy." answered Hooty.
"I made sure no harm came to them." reassured the other shadow copy.
Before anyone could say another word. Both shadow copies eyes turned bright white and fell to the ground as their bodies were twitching rapidly. But what everyone knew was they were having a psychic vision as they ran to their sides. But the visions they were having was something they feared.
Elsewhere
Eda, Luz and Maxwell were placed inside what looked like a holding cell as one of the guards closed it. There were a line of guards and Abomatons lined up on both sides of the wall. A tall and slender female guard approached them with a clipboard in her hands. Eda, Luz and Maxwell were having their hands chained up from behind them which the chain connected them to a wall in their cell.
"An envoy from the castle is coming to collect the female human. The Owl Lady and the southern gentleman are to be taken to the Conformatorium for petrification. A real one this time." said the female guard.
Maxwell let out a loud, lion like growl as he used his strength to try and break free from the chains but no luck. Even the female guard was looking on and shook her head in disappointment.
"Not even the most powerful magic from you could break those..." the female guard began.
Maxwell let out a loud demonic like shriek and with what strength he had. He broke the chain that connected him to the wall, jumped up once while bending his legs and knees to let his still chained hands go over his lower body like he was jumping rope. And he ran towards the entrance of the cell to give the female guard and the other guards a menacing look of anger which left them visibly afraid of Maxwell. Maxwell had his eyes begin to glow a gold light.
"Touch my sister or my wife. Then may God have mercy on your souls." Maxwell threatened.
Maxwell let out a loud, realistic lion like roar which did leave the guards visibly terrified of Maxwell. The guards shuddered to think what Maxwell can do if at full power. Maxwell walked off and sat next to Eda.
"Why don't you just save yourself the trouble and put me down now." said Eda sarcastically to the female guard. "If we get out. Maxie is going to be the one you'll be worrying about."
"You happy now?" Luz said coldly.
Eda and Maxwell looked at Luz who looked disgusted but tears were forming in her eyes.
"This way, neither of us can stop Belos." said Luz coldly.
"Eda, tell Luz the truth, now." Maxwell instructed Eda telepathically.
Luz looked at Eda as more tears began to run down her face while Eda looked at the floor with guilt in her eyes.
"Why couldn't you just let us help with your stupid plan?! Is it 'cause we're kids? Do you think we're still that weak?! Well?!" said Luz her voice nearly breaking.
"It's because there is no plan, okay?!" Eda snapped as she looked at Luz and tears formed in her eyes.
Luz looked on with a shocked expression and wide eyes. Eda felt guilty for not telling Luz the truth while she felt guilty that she hurt Luz and was wishing she told her the truth sooner but she didn't want to hurt Luz more.
"Me and Lilith don't have magic since we forgotten to take another potion and we don't have allies, we're useless. We have you, my man and King. So, I was gonna do anything to make sure that you and my man are safe. But now... it's all over." said Eda her voice nearly breaking too. "I'm so sorry Luz. I never meant to hurt you."
Later on, Eda, Luz and Maxwell were taken by Abomatons to a carriage that was like a paddy wagon. Luz got thrown in a separate carriage as she tried to tell the guards that Emperor Belos is a witch hunter and he's been lying to everyone but the guards or Abomatons weren't listening. Luz tried to call out to a saddened Eda and a very irate Maxwell by begging to Eda that she'd do anything she'd tell her to do but Eda got thrown in a separate carriage while Maxwell kicked the Abomaton and it fell over which he got taken into the same carriage that Eda was in.
The Abomaton closed the window doors of the carriage Luz was in and after some time which felt like an hour or more. Luz was feeling very vengeful, angry. She growled with anger which eventually, the carriage stopped.
"Luz, we're going to open the carriage doors and when we do. Don't attack anyone. I got some good news for both of us"
Luz heard a male's voice talk to her in her head. When the carriage stopped, she kicked the doors open and jumped out, ready to attack.
"Where are they? Take me to Eda and Maxie! If you touch a single feather on her head, I'll... I'll..." Luz shouted.
"Luz! We got some good news." came a male's voice. "Darius Deamonne, don't use your magic to touch a lady!"
"Luz." said Eda while laughing and looking relieved. "Luz! It's okay."
Luz looked to see that they were in a cave or somewhere in an unknown location of some sort where Eda, Lilith, King, Hooty, Raine, Amber, Derwin, Katya, Steve, and Maxwell. Luz turned to see that Darius and Eberwolf were on top of the carriage that Luz was in. Darius looked on at Maxwell and he retracted his abominations magic.
"Sorry Mr. Logan." said Darius apologetically.
Maxwell came over to hug Luz while he shed a few tears of his own. Luz was a bit shocked and confused while Amber, Derwin, Katya and Steve waved and smiled to greet Luz.
"What's going on? Who are these people?" asked Luz confused.
"Before anything else. Let's get you out of these chains." Maxwell said looked up at Eberwolf. "Eberwolf!"
Maxwell saw Eberwolf which Eberwolf looked back at Maxwell. Maxwell spoke to Eberwolf in animal like grunts and vocal noises as if communicating with him through his own language. Eberwolf jumped down and landed on Luz's back. While Maxwell instructed Eberwolf to be gentle, he nodded and used his strong teeth to bite down on the chains from Luz's wrists and they broke off with ease, freeing Luz.
Luz looked at Eberwolf which Eberwolf looked at Luz with a grin and kissed her on her forehead and cheeks, even hugging her to show love. Which afterwards, he ran to Darius's side. Luz stood up on her feet.
"Luz!" cried King running up to her and hugging her.
"King!" cried Luz as she hugged him back.
"But how did?" Luz began.
"For starters, Maxie contacted me with his mind." came Raine's voice.
Raine approached Luz, King and Maxwell as they stood up on their feet. This was Luz and King's first time meeting Raine but Maxwell had already met Raine.
"So, you must be the famous human witch named Luz and the one man whose got Eda's heart as well as she has yours, Maxwell, finally meeting in person without the disguise. Eda's been bragging about you two for hours. I'm Raine." Raine introduced.
Luz and Maxwell shook hands with them while they shook the teenager's hands. Luz smiled and was nearly gushing at the moment of finally meeting Raine. Maxwell was showing his gentleman nature but at the same time he was slightly or visibly nervous about meeting Raine, Amber, Derwin and Katya without a disguise and without a mask covering his face but he knew how to be confident with an idea in mind that kept him confident.
"Raine Whispers, Amber, Derwin, Katya." Maxwell said listing their names off as they were almost gushing at meeting Maxwell as if they met someone who was the most positive role model to everyone. "Looks like you get to see me without the mask. I see a lot of good within you all. Thank you for coming to our aide for both me, my wife and my sister Luz. Forgive me if I'm delving into any of your minds but I did get curious about getting to know you all but I know a gentleman shouldn't delve into a woman's mind without permission from them first, let alone a kind soul like Raine. I was taught better than that from my own mother. I shouldn't lay a hand, finger or magic on a woman like Eda or any kind soul, no matter the gender if the person's pronouns are she, her, or they or them."
"It's alright, little man." Raine said with a chuckle. "Eda, you were right. A gentleman with humble southern roots that made him into the gentleman he is today as well as learning a lot of good from his loving mother."
Maxwell hiccupped and felt relieved to know that Raine, Amber and Katya weren't offended by Maxwell delving into their minds. Luz was gushing with a grin.
"Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm actually meeting you in person! We've heard all about your adventures with Eda, and how you became Head Witch of Bard Coven, where you're secretly a spy! A—And then you and Eda played that duet, you met Maxie while he was doing his part in helping Eda and the rest of you." said Luz gushing now with a gasp. "And then you got captured."
"And your memories got all scram-jambled." King chimed in.
"About that. Guys, Raine actually has some good news in mind about all of that." Maxwell reassured.
"Maxie's right about that. Actually, when Darius captured me, he was really protecting me." said Raine with a word of comfort.
They turned to see Darius still sitting on top of the carriage who jumped down onto his feet and approached them.
"I thought I was the only one who found this Day of Unity junk suspicious but Mr. Logan catching on long before anyone else did, I'll admit, I never met a young man so intelligent and kindhearted as well as merciful. When we began to assist. As embarrassing as it is for me to admit, I begged for mercy from Mr. Logan of my actions and he shown me mercy after I recited I think was a bible quote about asking for the lords mercy, I'm still new to that." Darius explained while he stood near Raine and Luz. "When I heard Raine was causing trouble, I had a feeling they'd know more. You would've been locked away if it weren't for me."
"And a little less bruised! You could've let me in on things before attacking me!" Raine argued.
"You're a horrible actor! I had to make it look real!" said a smug Darius while being honest.
"Ugh, this is just like Hexside." sighed Raine.
Maxwell let out a whistle to get Darius's attention which of course Maxwell shown a stoic expression but shook his head twice. Darius's smugness faded away immediately and looked towards Raine with a visibly apologetic expression.
"I apologize." said Darius.
Amber, Derwin and Katya came over and immediately began hugging Luz, King and Maxwell. Amber and Katya were kissing Luz and King out of affection as they commented on how adorable Luz and King are which Luz was overjoyed, King blushed while chuckling nervously but he ultimately allowed them to continue. The three kids hugged them back.
"The little human girl is so cute." said Amber being affectionate. "I'd love to snatch her up and spoil her."
"Hey that tickles." laughed King as Katya briefly tickled his belly.
Steve approached Lilith and had a chat with her about knowing anything about the current events when she was in charge back when she was part of the Emperor's Coven. Lilith acknowledged that she might not have and sees that she wasn't very good at her job. Eda approached Raine while looking surprised by what she found out.
"Raine, why didn't you tell me anything? Or even when Maxie first met you. We could've helped." asked Eda curiously.
"Is it so unbelievable that I wanted to keep you safe? As well as keep the kids safe?" said Raine with a surprised grin. "But, in typical Eda fashion, you're not gonna stop until you make things right. That, and I had an inkling that Maxie would do the same and with how much of a gentleman he is and with how romantic he is, being that knight in shining armor type of guy. I knew he'd be at risk too."
Eda looked on with a grin while she did see that Raine was correct. They knew that Eda would try to make things right and that Maxwell would try to rescue them like a brave warrior who couldn't be stopped. Luz, King, Maxwell, Amber, Derwin and Katya approached them after a few moments.
"I guess not." said Eda with a smile.
"Things aren't hopeless! They have a plan to stop Belos and the Draining Spell!" said Lilith now next to Eda.
Luz let out a cute gasp of excitement while Maxwell was surprised yet bewildered in the face from hearing the news.
"Really? Wait, wait, before you get into that, please tell me you have a cool rebel name!" said Luz hopefully.
"Actually, we do. Allow me to introduce..." began Raine with a grin as she walked towards Amber, Derwin and Katya.
"Wait, hold on." said Darius.
"The Covens Against the Throne..." Raine continued.
"We talked about this, you promised!" said Darius as if trying to stop this.
"Aka..." Raine kept going.
"I DID NOT AGREE TO THIS NAME!" shouted Darius.
"The CATTS!" Raine said with a grin as the group uttered a hiss playfully.
Luz was thrilled as she pulled her cat hoodie over her head with a grin. Maxwell was smiling at the "cool rebel name" that Raine and her group have chosen.
"Everything's come full circle, baby!" said a thrilled Luz.
"I feel like roaring like a lion, even though I'm no showoff." said Maxwell trying to hide his urge to roar.
"Go for it, Maxie!" Eda encouraged.
Maxwell smiled and he sucked in a big amount of air and as plenty of them saw in excitement. Maxwell given his loudest, mightiest roar he's even given which made him look like he was someone whose very powerful. After the lion like roar. Maxwell popped his neck and Eda came running towards both Luz, King and Maxwell as she hugged them, they hugged her back while she would kiss Luz and King on their foreheads and cheeks. She kissed Maxwell on his lips which he closed his eyes and kissed her back.
Later on, at the secret base of the CATTS
While Eda, Luz, King, Hooty, Maxwell, Lilith, Raine, Darius, Eberwolf, Amber, Derwin, Katya and Steve were in a secret base that the CATTS operate. Raine reassured Eda, Luz, King, Hooty and Maxwell they're safe there. They were in a room of the building that shown that Luz used a lot of light spell glyphs to serve as a source of light while there were some flaming torches, small ones.
Darius, Raine, Derwin, Amber, Katya and Steve sat at a table while going over their plan on stopping Emperor Belos and the Draining Spell as well as the Day of Unity. Lilith and Hooty were near them but they fell asleep.
Eda, Luz, King and Maxwell were nearby in the bunks that were the beds nearby. Eda and Luz sat on the first bed while Maxwell sat on a seat near them. King stood nearby with them as Eda pulled out his stuff bunny, Francois, she pulled him out of a bag she had with her and King's eyes lit up with joy.
King squeaked happily as Eda given King his stuffed animal bunny that King happily hugged.
"Francois!" said King happily.
"So you contacted Raine telepathically when we got captured?" said Eda with a grin.
"I figured Raine could be our only hope since they're on our side and they, well, I'll admit. I was starting to panic." Maxwell admitted.
"That was good thinking. Raine seems to have taken a parental bond towards you, Luz and King." said Eda with a chuckle. "And I saw you blushing when you finally met them without a mask or disguise."
Maxwell uttered a hiccup with a blush to his cheeks. He knew Eda read him like a map.
"I think Amber and Katya have a crushy on Maxie." Eda playfully joked. "Don't worry, I'm only poking fun. They know you're already taken."
"Still a lovable rebel." said Maxwell blushing deeper while uttering a nervous chuckle.
Eda went in and planted her soft and big, full lips to Maxwell's lips to give him her answer which made him kiss her back. The two took a moment or more to kiss each other till they both pulled their lips from each other's in a loud pop. Maxwell blushed deeply and his face looked a tomato.
"Does that answer your question?" chuckled Eda. "You know me all too well. But I'm only like that when joking."
Do I need to give you two ten, twenty, thirty minutes?" joked Eda.
"Not really." said Eda giggling.
That's when Eda pulled out a box from the bag she had with her and placed it in on Luz's lap.
"Look what else is in here." said Eda.
Luz looked at the cardboard box which was the size of a shoe box. The box had writing on it that labeled it "Eda's longest toenails ( don't open )" which Luz looked at it with disgust and gagged a bit as she opened it hesitantly. But she saw something that was good news to her. She gasped in surprise to find the palistrom wood that Eda and King given her when both Luz and Maxwell protected the palismans from Hunter or anyone who tried to harm them.
Eda even pulled out something that belonged to Maxwell which was his necklace that had a crucifix on it as well as a portable pendant that was looking like there was a button to push on it to open it. Even the violin and bow that belonged to his mother.
"I managed to have found this too." said Eda as she handed the necklace, the violin, bow and pendant to Maxwell.
Maxwell pushed the button on the pendant and when it opened. It shown a picture of him and his mother. It shown that Maxwell was six years old in the picture and his mother had to have been around months or less than a year before she died.
"It's... palistrom wood." said Luz surprised.
"My necklace, my mother's violin and the pendant that has the picture of me and my mother." said Maxwell surprised as he shed a tear. "Thank you, Eda. Somewhere my mother is looking at you with a smile and looking at me, knowing that I've found the perfect woman who'll become my wife."
"Anything for my man and my girl." said Eda as she pulled out a chisel from inside her hair as she looked towards Luz. "I thought you'd wanna carve your palisman. What do you say?"
Luz looked at the palistrom wood for a moment and she knew she wanted to but she knew that the time to stop Emperor Belos and his plans was something she felt they had to focus more upon that.
"I shouldn't. The Day of Unity is in two days, I have to focus o—on stopping Belos, and—" Luz began to ramble but it was interrupted by Eda pulling her in to hug her.
Eda hugged Luz and gently scratched her back which did relax her body. She kissed Luz's cheek.
"You goob. Hey, this isn't all on you and Maxie." Eda reassured.
"Yeah, we have teammates now. Meow, meow!" said King while mimicking a cat's meowing sound to emphasize his support.
"What if the palisman doesn't like me?" said Luz feeling nervous.
"By my count, you've befriended more enemies than I have claws on my paw. Maxie has done the same. Both of you have improved so many people's lives since you two came to the Boiling Isles." said King pointing out a reassurance to them.
"Plenty of witches would've ditched this rock already. But you and Maxie kept learning and kept fighting... what's not to like, huh?" Eda said with a word of reassurance while giving Luz a wink and grin.
Luz shown a smile and blushed as hearing those words from Eda and King gave her some form of reassurance with her and her palisman that was soon to be created. Maxwell given Luz a wink as he told Luz with his mind "with how lovable and full of life you are and with how infectious your personality is. Any palisman would love you" which Luz winked at Maxwell to let him know she understood. Luz was touched by their words and was looking like she was about to cry from happiness from their words.
"Thanks, Eda, King, Maxie." said Luz with a brief sniffle as she grabbed the box. "I think I'm ready to carve." said Luz which a chuckle. "Um, you're gonna show me how to do this, right?"
"Oh, duh. My dad taught me the ropes." said Eda as she took the palistrom wood and set it upwards. "Here, let's make sure we have some space. Lay the wood here..."
"I'd be careful with the chisel. It might be small but it can be sharper than a razor." Maxwell kindly advised.
"I'll be sure Luz is alright. Besides, my dad was the same way with me." reassured Eda.
"Are you gonna carve me?" King eagerly teased. "Not to worry, I'm only joking."
"Calm down, King." chuckled Eda as she took the chisel and Luz set the box aside. "Now, let's take it slow. We've got all the time in the world."
Eda began to show and teach Luz how to carve palistrom wood to create a palisman. While they did that. Maxwell excused himself and went somewhere to be alone as he sat down in a place where he was alone. He began to look up, then left and right. He bowed his head and began to pray.
