Set in Stone: Chapter 43
With Naruto
Naruto charged at Sasuke in his new form cocking back his fist; Naruto jumped up and sent a punch down towards Sasuke. Sasuke raised up his hand and stopped the punch by catching Naruto's fist; Sasuke swung down his bone sword in order to cut off Naruto's hand.
Naruto seeing this used his foot to kick Sasuke's sword away before putting his leg around Sasuke's neck to put him in a choke hold; Sasuke not in a choke hold reared back and slammed Naruto down into the pavement below. The force generated from the hit shook the earth and cracked the ground; Sasuke expecting Naruto to let go was surprised when Naruto was still holding on.
"You are not getting rid of me Uchiha" Naruto said as he punched Sasuke in the face; Sasuke's head shot back as blood came out of his nose. Naruto was about to punch again when he felt a sharp pain in his leg; Naruto looked down and saw a bone coming out of Sasuke's collar coming out through his leg.
Naruto let go of Sasuke as he pulled away and jumped back; Naruto's leg began to heal itself as Sasuke's bone went back into his body. Naruto formed a hand sign "Shadow clone jutsu" Naruto shouted; 20 clones appeared and Naruto launched another assault with his clones.
Sasuke pointed his fingers at Naruto and his clones; Sasuke fired the bones from his finger tips toward them. Naruto ducked just as a finger bone grazed his head; several of Naruto's clones were hit and destroyed but Naruto did not relent.
Sasuke using his wings flew up into the air and went through hand signs "Fire Style: Phoenix flower jutsu" Sasuke fired dozens of small fire balls toward Naruto and his clones as the ground beneath him turned into a inferno. Sasuke smirked at his newly found power 'amazing; I never felt so alive' he thought; Sasuke was brought out of hit thoughts when he saw Naruto coming towards him with a kyuubi powered rasengan in his hands.
"Rasengan" Naruto shouted as he closed in to Sasuke; Sasuke put his wings in front of him in order to block the attack. The rasengan hit and began to drill into Sasuke's wings; the attack died down and Sasuke opened his wings to a stunned Naruto.
Sasuke stabbed Naruto with his Kusanagi and his bone sword; Sasuke expected Naruto to scream in pain but was surprised to see Naruto smile.
"Zap" Naruto said; before Sasuke could respond turned into lightning and began to shock Sasuke. Sasuke screamed in pain as the lightning coursed through his body; Sasuke looked above him only to be greeted by Naruto's heel hitting him in the face sending him towards the ground.
Sasuke hit the ground and immediately got back up; Naruto landed a few yards away with a smirk on his face.
"A lightning clone" Sasuke growled out "you never knew that jutsu" he said and Naruto smirked.
"I'm not the same Naruto you fought" Naruto said "I'm full of surprises; and I intend to use everything in my arsenal to beat you" Naruto said and Sasuke scowled.
"I'd like to see you try loser" Sasuke said as he charged up a purple Chidori in his left hand and charged at Naruto.
On a hill: Outside Ame
"Holy fuck they are tearing it up down there" Tayuya said as she and the rest of the assault team looked on as Naruto and Sasuke duked it out in the middle of the city "we should help him" she said but Itachi stopped her.
"You wouldn't do any good" Itachi said "Sasuke and Naruto are at another level; we wouldn't be much of a help" he said and Sarada looked at him.
"Why not us; our Susanoo's- "Sarada began and Itachi stopped her.
"With what Sasuke could do now they wouldn't help much" Itachi said "but maybe…" Itachi began as he looked over to Gaara. "Gaara get into your one tails form and follow me; we will go back and help Naruto" Itachi said and Gaara nodded.
"Right" Gaara said as he walked to a clear area and began to meditate; a dome of sand surrounded Gaara as he began his transformation.
"What are you doing" Sarada said grabbing onto Itachi's arm.
"Me and Gaara will go and assist Naruto" Itachi said "if we fail and all 3 of us die; you'll need to be the one who kills Sasuke" he said making Sarada's stomach drop. "Tsubaki, Moro, Konan and Fu are out; Jiraya, Ichigo and Jugo are dead" Itachi said "you are our last hope if it comes to it" Itachi said and Sarada nodded.
"Damn it" Sarada said "how could this go so wrong; how could I fuck up this bad" Sarada said as she began to rub her temples.
"You couldn't have predicted this Sarada" Hinata said walking up "how were we suppose to know this could happen" she said and Sarada looked at her.
"I didn't think it was possible" Sarada said "I didn't take precautions, now look at us; Ichigo, Jiraya and Jugo are dead because of me" she said. Sarada was then slapped by Tayuya surprising everyone.
"Hey we all knew the fucking risks" Tayuya shouted "we knew what was at stake; so, shut the fuck up with that self-pity shit" she said and Sarada nodded.
"You're right I'm sorry" Sarada said as she looked at the battle 'Naruto; please don't die' she thought.
With Naruto
Naruto dodged Sasuke's Chidori and punched him in the face as he passed by; Sasuke recovering swung his sword at Naruto cutting him across the chest with a spray of blood coming out. Sasuke followed up by slashing Naruto in the knee with his bone sword sending Naruto to one knee.
Sasuke raised up his sword to cut Naruto down; Naruto rose up quickly and grabbed Sasuke's hand. Sasuke tried to bring up his other sword but it was also grabbed by Naruto; Naruto bought his head back and head-butted Sasuke in the face making him see stars.
Naruto twisted Sasuke's arm and kicked his hand making him lose his grip on his bone sword; Sasuke now recovered jumped up and kicked Naruto in the face sending him skidding back across the ground. Sasuke charged up his sword with lightning chakra and charged at Naruto; Naruto getting up took out a kunai and used it to focus his kyuubi chakra to form a blade.
Both weapons clashed as both men tried to hack each other to pieces; Naruto's kunai clanged against Sasuke's causing sparks to fly. Naruto took a stab towards Sasuke who moved out of the way; Sasuke brought up his sword to hit Naruto in the neck but Naruto rolled out of the way.
Sasuke closed his left eye and focused on Naruto "Amaterasu"; black flames shot towards Naruto who ran in order to not be engulfed in the flames. Sasuke followed the running Naruto in order to set him alight; as he did so Sasuke saw something pass, I front of him.
It was a crow 'what the- 'Sasuke began until his world went black; Itachi replacing himself with his crow summon stabbed Sasuke in his sharingan destroying his eye "Gaah" Sasuke screamed as he opened his other eye and Kicked Itachi away.
Naruto seeing this spoke up "Itachi what are you doing here" Naruto asked Itachi who landed next to him.
"We are here to lend you a hand" Itachi said.
"We" Naruto said confused.
Sasuke pulled the kunai out of his eye just in time to see a hail of sand shuriken coming towards him; Sasuke jumped out of the way and looked over and saw Gaara in his 1 tail form (the one from the canon Chunin exam arc) standing several yards away.
"Hello again Uchiha" Gaara said as he brought his tail in front of him "long time no see" he said and Sasuke growled.
"Gaara, Itachi" Sasuke spat out before he began to chuckle "what do you know; the 3 people I enjoyed killing the most all here to die again" Sasuke said as he began to form his Susanoo. "I'm going to enjoy killing you all" Sasuke said as he charged at Gaara.
Gaara seeing Sasuke and his Susanoo come towards him got ready; Sasuke swung his Susanoo's fist at Gaara who ducked under the attack and went off to its side. Gaara slammed his tanuki tail against the side of Sasuke's Susanoo with a resounding 'bam'; Sasuke seeing Gaara sent his Susanoo's fist towards him again hitting Gaara and sending him flying.
Gaara hit a wall cracking it as the left side of his form was now damaged and reforming as the sand came back to him; Sasuke was about to re-engage Gaara when Itachi formed his Susanoo and ran towards Sasuke.
Sasuke seeing this put up his defenses; Itachi using his Susanoo's sword slashed at Sasuke who put up his Susanoo's arms to block the attack. The attack sent shock waves through the area as Sasuke raised up ne of his Susanoo's fists and punched Itachi's Susanoo sending him skidding back.
His relief was short lived when Naruto came up with a Rasenshuriken powered by Biju chakra approached Sasuke.
"Take this" Naruto shouted as he slammed the jutsu into Sasuke's Susanoo; the jutsu nearly over powered the Susanoo as it cracked it's front almost breaking it.
"You fucking bastard" Sasuke shouted as he hit Naruto away sending him flying once more; Naruto was sent sailing being rocked by the hit. Naruto was caught by a hand of sand courtesy of Gaara who's one tail form was now rebuilt.
Sasuke's Susanoo rebuilt itself as he looked to his 3 opponents "is that all you got" Sasuke said as he got ready to launch another assault.
With Sarada and the others
Fu opened her eyes as she looked around; she saw she was right next to a unconscious Moro and Tsubaki. Fu sat up only to be grabbed.
"Fu stay down" Yakumo said alarming everyone.
"What happened; did we win" Fu asked and Sarada shook her head.
"No; Naruto, Itachi and Gaara are all off fighting Sasuke" Sarada said making Fu go wide eyed.
"What" Fu shouted "what are we doing" Fu said and Sarada looked towards her.
"We are staying back incase they fail to stop him" Sarada said until she had an idea "but you can go and help him" Sarada said and everyone looked at her. "You have the 7 tails and have been training to harness it's power" she said and Fu nodded.
"Yeah, but I can only harness 3 tails of chakra" Fu said and Sarada nodded.
"But it could help; as of right now only you and me are the strongest here" Sarada said "Itachi wants me to hang back; but you can help them out, you have your abilities" she said. Fu look conflicted; she was tired and still injured. But if what Sarada was saying was true she could help turn the tide; Fu looked over to Sarada with determination and nodded.
"I'm going in" Fu said and Sarada nodded.
"Hinata, Yakumo; heal Fu" Sarada said and both girls nodded as they began to heal her wounds even more "Karin I'd hate to aske but- "she began but Karin negan to move to Fu.
"I understand" Karin said as she lifted her sleeve and presented her arm to Fu "bite" Karin said and Fu did so; Fu began to heal and be replenished at a fast rate.
'Hold on guys; I'll be right there' Fu thought.
With Naruto, Itachi and Gaara
Itachi and Naruto were both engaging Sasuke in hand-to-hand combat and were both being beaten back; Naruto knocked Sasuke's sword out of his hand and threw a punch at Sasuke who blocked it, Itachi simultaneously threw a kick at Sasuke's body but he caught the kick as well.
Sasuke pulled Naruto towards him by his arm and kneed him in the gut; Sasuke used the same leg to kick Itachi in the face knocking his head to the side with a stream of blood coming out of his mouth. Sasuke proceeded to flip over Naruto still holding his arm; Sasuke landing behind Naruto pulled his arm down and popped Naruto's shoulder out of socket.
"Gaaah" Naruto screamed as his left arm was popped out of place; Sasuke kicked Naruto in the back sending him crashing into Itachi. Sasuke was about to finish off both Naruto and Itachi when a claw of sand came towards him; Gaara struck at Sasuke who ducked out of the way picking up his sword once more before back flipping away.
Sasuke landed a couple yards away and began to go through hand signs "Fire Style: Fire ball Jutsu" Sasuke proceeded to launch a massive fire ball towards Gaara; Gaara put up his arms in order to brace for the jutsu but Itachi jumped in front of him going through hand signs himself.
"Water Style: Water wall" Itachi using the rain falling all around them formed a large wall of water; when the fire ball hit it created a massive cloud of steam blocking everyone's vision. Itachi covered his eyes from the steam and moved his arms in time to see Sasuke charge at him with his sword in hand; Sasuke slashed at Itachi scoring a cut on his abdomen.
Itachi hunched over as he put his hand over his wound trying to hold his guts inside his body; Sasuke raised up his sword to kill Itachi but was hit in the chest by Gaara with his Tanuki tail.
"I'm going to kill you Uchiha" Gaara shouted going forward to engage Sasuke; Gaara swiped at Sasuke with his claws and his trail trying to hit the Uchiha. Sasuke ducked under Gaara's tail and charged up his sword with lightning chakra; Sasuke used hit lightning covered sword to slice off Gaara's tail.
Gaara tried to hit Sasuke with his right claw but Sasuke was faster; Sasuke charged up a Chidori in his left hand and sent it towards Gaara's claw. Sasuke's Chidori cut through Gaara's arm like it was made of tissue paper; not letting up his assault Sasuke proceeded to thrust his lightning covered sword into the transformed Gaara.
The stab worked as Gaara began to scream as his sand form crumbled; Gaara fell to the ground holding the wound to his left shoulder. Sasuke took out his sword from Gaara's chest and held it above the bleeding red head "good riddance" Sasuke said as he stabbed Gaara in the abdomen his sword piercing through to the pavement underneath. Sasuke attempted to pull the sword out but Gaara grabbed onto the blade with his bare hand keeping him from doing so "persistent little- "Sasuke began until he was tackled from the side losing his grip on the sword.
Naruto tackled and began to punch and elbow him while he was on top; Naruto just getting done popping his shoulder back into place saw Gaara get stabbed and rushed over to help. "Why won't you die" Naruto shouted as he beat Sasuke; Naruto threw another punch which Sasuke blocked.
Sasuke grabbed Naruto by the collar of his torn jacket and proceeded to head butt him; Sasuke put his foot onto Naruto's chest kicking him off before jumping back.
"This has gone on long enough" Sasuke said holding his left hand out "lets end this" he shouted; Sasuke created a purple Chidori in his hand as it began to crackle and spark burning the ground he was standing on.
"End of the road you bastard" Naruto shouted as he formed a wind/Kyuubi powered Rasengan in his right hand.
"Now die" They both shouted as the rushed towards each other.
For a moment time slowed down as both combatants rushed towards each other as this next move will decide the battle.
As they both moved towards each other a small figure flew in between them.
"Naruto close your eyes" Fu shouted; Naruto realizing it was Fu closed his eyes just in time as she unleashed her technique. 'Hiden Rinpungakure no jutsu' Fu unleashed a bright light that illuminated the area; Sasuke only having one eye and realizing too late what was happening was blinded by the light.
"Naruto now" Fu said jumping out of the way to clear a path; Naruto opened his eyes and rushed a Sasuke ducking under his Chidori and now being only inches away.
"Rasengan" Naruto shouted as he thrusted the jutsu into Sasuke's stomach; the rasengan burrowed into Sasuke's stomach drilling into him as he coughed up blood. Naruto tore through Sasuke coming out the other side as Sasuke's upper and lower half of his body separated from where Naruto hit him; Naruto stopped as his jutsu died down and he turned around to see Sasuke bisected on the ground.
"I-I did it" Naruto said as he turned and looked at Fu who had a look of surprise on her face "we did it" Naruto said with a weak smile as his cloak began to fade and he returned to normal. "Good…timing…Fu" Naruto said as his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he fell to his knees; Fu rushed over and grabbed him before he hit the ground.
"Naruto" Fu shouted in concern.
"Do not worry child" Choemi said inside Fu's mind "it is only chakra exhaustion; he used up so much of his and Kurama's chakra his body wore out" it said and Fu nodded.
"Oh, thank god" Fu said relieved; Fu then looked around and saw a wounded Gaara, Jiraya's corpse off in the distance and Itachi getting to his feet and walking over to Sasuke "it's finally over" she said.
With Itachi
Itachi walked over to Sasuke's upper half while tying his shirt over his wound to hold his guts in; Sasuke's transformation wore off and now he looked normal again. Sasuke was barely alive as he laid on the ground; Sasuke looked up one more time and saw Itachi standing over him.
"Y-You" Sasuke said weakly; Itachi looked down at the pitiful state of his brother. Itachi kneeled down and picked up Sasuke's head and turned his head towards him; Itachi using his sharingan scanned Sasuke's memories and grimaced at what he found.
Itachi grabbing Sasuke's chin and the back of his head took in a deep breath "goodbye Sasuke" Itachi said; Itachi snapped Sasuke's neck with a loud and audible crack. Sasuke went still as his brain stem and spinal cord was severed ending his life; Itachi leaned over and reaced down as he pulled out Sasuke's Rinnegan and then began to rummage through Sasuke's pockets.
Itachi proceeded to pull out a vial containing another Rinnegan 'Peins Rinnegan' Itachi thought; he was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of feet landing.
"Itachi" Sarada shouted as she ran over with Hinata, Karin and Yakumo in tow; Itachi pointed at both Naruto and Gaara.
"H-help Naruto and Gaara" Itachi mumbled out.
"I'm on it" Yakumo said as she ran over to help the wounded Gaara; Yakumo began to heal the wound before removing the sword "I need to heal the wound before removing the sword; or else it might kill you" Yakumo said.
"D-don't… care" Gaara said weakly as he fought to stay consious.
Hinata and Karin skidded next to Naruto "Fu put him down" Hinata ordered and Fu complied; Hinata activated hey Byakugan and looked at Naruto "His chakra network is heavily damaged and he has internal bleeding" Hinata said as she ripped open Naruto's cloths. "Karin let Naruto bite you or else his chakra network will be permanently damaged" she said and Karin nodded.
"You got it" Karin said as she rolled up her sleeve and put her arm into Naruto's mouth; Karin forced his mouth shut, after a minute she took her arm out "I… can't it's… too much; he lost a lot of chakra" Karin said panting.
"Let me pump some of my chakra into him" Fu said as she put her hands over Hinata's; after a few seconds Naruto skin began to gain some color back.
"Oh, thank god" Hinata said as she healed Naruto.
"Itachi lie down" Sarada said laying him onto his back; Sarada looked down at his wound and began to bust out her medical kit "just hold on I'll- "Sarada began until Itachi stopped her.
"S-Sarada" Itachi said between breaths "there is something you need to know" he said.
Ame out skirts
Sarada, Tayuya and Fu were all standing outside a small farm house with stern looks on their faces.
"This the place" Tayuya said and Sarada nodded.
"Yeah" Sarada said simply as she began to move towards the house "lets end this" she said; Fu and Tayuya walked behind her as back up. As they moved to the house, they heard the sounds of crying.
"Are those babies" Fu said alarmed and Sarada nodded.
"Hurry" Sarada said as she rushed to the house; Sarada kicked in the door and looked around for the origin of the noise she heard the cries and pointed "there" she said as she ran in.
Sarada, Fu and Tayuya all entered the room and saw a sad sight; a 14-year-old girl holding a newborn baby in her arms. Tayuya walked up and pressed her fingers against her neck to check for a pulse.
"She's dead, still warm" Tayuya said looking back at her 2 comrades "we were a few minutes too late" she said.
Fu turned her attention to the crying new born as she walked over; she took off her shirt now wearing only her bra and wrapped the baby while trying to shush it "Shhh don't cry, shhh don't cry" Fu said soothingly.
Sarada walked over to the 2 cribs with the other crying babies and looked at the names painted "Akio and Yuuna Uchiha" Sarada said with a sad voice; she proceeded to bend down and pick up Akio and began to rock him. "Don't worry; big sister Sarada is here" Sarada said rocking her baby half-brother.
"I guess I'll grab the other little shit machine" Tayuya said to the annoyance of Sarada and Fu; when she picked up Yuuna she looked down and smiled slightly 'cute little fucker' Tayuya thought.
"Let's go and leave this damn place" Sarada said and the other 2 girls nodded; as they walked out Sarada stopped and went through one handed hand signs 'Fire Style: Phoenix flower jutsu'. Sarada shot a dozen mini fire balls around the house setting it alight "this is where my fathers evil ends" Sarada said as she walked away with Fu, Tayuya and the 3 babies.
As the house engulfed in flames Minami laid in her bed as the fire slowly creeped towards her; unseen by Sarada, Fu or Tayuya by her side was the scroll Sasuke had given her before he left. The fire engulfed her and the scroll effectively destroying the last 2 remaining influences of the terrible Sasuke Uchiha.
2 week later: In Konoha
Anko and Yugito were sitting in their apartment playing with their newly adopted son Akio and Yugao and Hayate were in their house sitting with their daughter Yuuna. Sarada decided it would be best for the children to have loving and supporting homes; she gave one to Anko as she knew her and Yugito wanted to have a kid and Yugao and Hayate wanted to have another.
Senju Cemetery
Tsunade, Tsubaki, Nawaki, and Hiruzen were standing in front of Jiraya's grave; it has been 2 weeks and yet the wound was still fresh. Tsubaki found out her father died when she woke up 2 days after the battle; she was also the one who had to break the news to her mother. They placed Jiraya into the ground only a few hours ago and yet none of them have moved a muscle.
'Jiraya… I'm sorry' Tsunade thought 'I should have loved you more; cherished you more' she thought as a tear fell from her cheek.
Nawaki seeing this held onto his mother's hand; he didn't like to see his mom cry. Nawaki looked to his father's grave 'Dad I will take care of mom' he thought 'and I'll become a great shinobi just like you; just you wait' he thought.
Tsubaki had her head held down 'I'm sorry daddy' Tsubaki thought 'I was too weak to come and help you' she thought.
Hiruzen looking down at his apprentices grave remained silent; no words could express his grief.
Tsubaki grabbed her mothers' hand and began to lead her and her brother away "let go home; it's getting late" she said as they all left the cemetery.
Outside Konoha
Fu, Kin, Tayuya, Karin and Guren all stood in front of the make shift grave of Jugo; there wasn't anything they could bury but they thought Jugo deserved a grave to be remembered for his sacrifice. Fu was taking it the hardest as she spent the most time with Jugo and was there when he died
'Jugo' Fu thought 'you were a flawed man with a good heart' she thought as she clenched her fists. 'I'll never forget you for a long as I live' Fu thought; Kin and Tayuya grabbed her shoulders as she began to cry.
Yamanaka cemetery
Ino was standing in front of the grave of Ichigo; her tears flowed down her face from her one remaining eye as she held a bouquet of bush clovers. Ino walked over and put the flowers onto Ichigo's grave; she turned around and saw all those present.
Naruto, Hinata, Moro, Yakumo, Tsume, Hana and Kushina were all present for the funeral; Naruto still heavily bandaged and using a cane slowly walked over and stood in front of Ino.
"Ino… I'm… so fucking sorry" Naruto said as he began to sob; Ino wrapped her arms around Naruto and both just held each other for a few moments until they separated "I-Ichigo… he… he was my best friend" Naruto said and Ino nodded. "If there is anything you need… just come to me" Naruto said "I have more money than I could ever need, I have more rooms that I could ever use… anything you need" Naruto said.
Ino wiped her tears and nodded "thank you Naruto" Ino said as she turned around and looked at the grave "I don't think I could ever love again after him" Ino said. "There will never be another man as strong, as brave and as kind as him" Ino said "I will live out the rest of my days loving him and him alone" Ino said.
Suddenly crying could be heard and everyone turned around; Sarada was walking with a baby in her arms and walked up to Ino.
"Ino" Sarada said standing in front of her with the small baby in her arms "I have a request for you" she said and Ino choked. "This little guy needs a home and I was wondering- "she began until Ino bent over and looked at the baby.
"What's his name" Ino asked and Sarada smiled.
"If you become his mother, you can name him" Sarada said; Ino hesitated for a moment before picking up the baby and cradled him.
"How about…Shinji" Ino said with a smile; Naruto began to chuckle at this.
"I get it" Naruto said "Ichigo… 1; Shinji… 2" Naruto said laughing. "Ichigo would've loved that" Naruto said and Ino began to chuckle as well.
"Ichigo did have that sense of humor of his" Ino said as she began to stroke his hair "welcome home Shinji" she said as she kissed the baby.
Uzumaki compound: Later on
Naruto was helped into bed with the assistance of Hinata and Sarada "thanks girls I appreciate it; I'm tired" Naruto said as he laid down with a groan "3 funerals in one day" Naruto said sadly. "My best friend, me sensei and Jugo… the man I saved from himself" Naruto said sadly; Sarada and Hinata both laid down next to Naruto and put their heads on his shoulder.
"It's over now Naruto" Hinata said softly as she stroked his cheek; Naruto turned to her and kissed her forehead.
"Me and Itachi came up with a plan" Sarada said gaining their attentions "I get the right Rinnegan and he gets the left; he protects from outside the village and me from the inside" she said. "He'll be in Ame with Konan incase anything happens" Sarada said and Naruto nodded.
"Sounds like a plan" Naruto said "and what about after" Naruto asked; Sarada sat up and looked down at Naruto.
Sarada then leaned down and kissed Naruto on his lips "we heal" Sarada said "we recover and we move on with our lives" Sarada said. "Ichigo, Jiraya and Jugo sacrificed their lives to give us a future to look forward to" Sarada said laying back down "now it's time for us to live our lives" she said. "That is how we honor them" Sarada said.
