In the forest, a white fur monkey like Pokémon picks up a couple of coconuts from the ground and places it with the others in its leaf satchel. At the Pokémon school, Komala was hugging a coconut tree as its comfort toy rolls on its head.

Narrator: True to form, our heroes are busy with classes at the Pokémon school. Let's see what they're up to today.

"Professor Kukui? It's time! I'm going home early." said Mallow, getting up from her desk.

"Huh?"

"Right! Today they're doing a TV report on your family's restaurant." said Kukui. "Correct?"

"Yeah? A report?" asked Ash and Jordan.

"Mm-hm. That's right!" said Mallow. "The show covers the tastiest food spots in town."

"Awesome! I want to be on TV, too!" said Ash.

"Pika-Pika-Pika!" said Pikachu.

"If he does get on TV, I wonder if they can broadcast it to Kanto." Jordan said to Meeko.

"Lucario." said Meeko, shrugging her shoulders.

"Your right, Meeko. Who knows if they can broadcast it that far." said Jordan.

"As soon as class is over for the day." Kukui said to Ash and Jordan.

"Then I know just what to do." said Ash, pushing his hat backwards. "I'll study really fast. Super-fast!"

"I don't think the speed of studying has anything to do with when class ends." said Rotom.

"But it does when I need proof to show a certain rival back home." said Jordan. "Quick, Rotom, take a picture. He won't believe me if I don't have evidence."

"Okay, guys, I'll see you a bit later!" said Mallow, leaving the classroom with Steenee.

"Steenee." said Steenee.

"Gumshoos. Gumshoos. Gumshoos." said Gumshoos, walking past Mallow's restaurant with something in its arms, then sits down to eat. Inside the restaurant, Abe was juicing a berry and adding honey to it before shaking it up. He then pours the mixture into three glasses.

"Jenny, are you sure Gumshoos is suited for crowd control?" asked Nurse Joy as she and Officer Jenny sat at the bar.

"Outdoor security is Gumshoos' specialty." said Officer Jenny. "The broadcast will go off without a hitch from inside."

"Serious business, but you want to be on TV, right?" said Nurse Joy.

"No more than you!" said Officer Jenny. "That's why you're here, right?"

"Now how could you even think such a thing?" asked Nurse Joy. Both women had their makeup bags out and were applying on makeup. "I just want people to know how delicious the food is here. That's all."

"Uh-huh." said Officer Jenny.

"I'm back from school!" said Mallow, entering the restaurant. Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy turned around to face Mallow, looking like they were ready for the circus. "Nice to see you, Mallow." said Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny.

"Why, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny. Welcome to our restaurant!" said Mallow when her dad popped his head out from the kitchen.

"Mallow, I know you just got here, but I need help quick." he said to her.

"Steenee!" squealed Steenee as she and Mallow put on their aprons.

"I'm in love with these aprons." said Mallow.

"Made just for you." said Abe. "Because you've got to look your very best when you're on TV!"

"Steenee, aren't they wonderful?" Mallow asked.

"Steenee!" replied Steenee.

"First, I think we need a little sustenance." said Mallow, taking a Steenee shaped treat out and handed it to Steenee. "Here!"

"Steenee!" squealed Steenee in happiness before eating it. "Steenee." Down the road from Mallow's family restaurant, Team Rocket had set up business with a food truck.

"All right, hungry folks, step right up!" said Meowth, advertising outside of their food truck. "We've got the world's tastiest tidbits you ever laid your lips on, our Bewear-brand Honey Malasadas!"

"(Yawns) There's not a customer in sight." said Jessie, leaning back in her chair and drinking cold Pinap Juice.

"Which has nothing to do with how great they taste." said James, frying some malasadas in oil and tasting one. "Oh, that's hot! That's good. Oh, that's hot! That's good. Oh, that's hot!"

"Coming up, the next installment of our Treats Around Town series." said the male reporter.

"With Anna, your good taste on the scene reporter!" said his female co-host.

"Hi-hi! It's a sweet treat to show you great places to eat!" said Anna, waving to the camera. "Are you hungry? Then I'll fill up your tummy with yummy! So, let's have a sample of today's top-of-the-line tasty eatery!"

"What does she know about tasty eateries?" Jessie asked grudgingly before taking a sip of Pinap Juice.

"Oh! Say, rumor has it that's a fabulous food truck!" said Anna, spotting Team Rocket's food truck, causing Jessie to spit out her drink. "Alola! This is the gourmet spot everyone's talking about!"

"Are we on? Is this live? Little ol' me?" asked Jessie as she and James get a close up of the camera. "Alola!"

"Alola from me, too!" said James.

"A big Alolan whoop-dee-doo!" said Meowth.

"Wobbuffet!" said Wobbuffet.

"Hey!" said Anna, trying to get the camera back on her.

"Yoo-hoo! Now, pay attention." said Jessie.

"No, that's not the right place!" said the male reporter. "Now, focus would ya!"

"This truck is not what we were looking for!" said Anna's assistant, then points to the restaurant. "That's the right place!"

"Are you kidding me?" asked Anna, realizing her mistake. "Okay, here we go!"

Anna and her camera crew left Team Rocket and their food truck, towards Mallow's restaurant as a Psyduck and Slowpoke pass by them. "Psy….duck." said Psyduck.

"Slow….poke." said Slowpoke.

"Oh! Wow! It all looks so good!" said Anna, staring at the yummy food that was laid out.

"Steenee!" said Steenee, bringing a glass of Pinap Juice when Anna loudly squeals.

"You're the cutest waitress I've ever seen." she said to Steenee.

"You're right." said Abe, walking up behind Steenee. "Would you like Pinap Juice, it's our specialty?"

"Steenee." said Steenee, holding up the tray.

"Thank you, I will." said Anna, taking the glass off the tray and takes a sip. "Yummy-yummy-yummy!"

"Right! The taste is what makes our restaurant great!" said Abe. "Now, how would you like to try our famous stew?"

"I can't wait!" said Anna.

"Mallow! Some stew, please!" said Abe.

"Right!" she called out, placing a large pot filled with stew on the stove and moves the contents around the pan next to it. Mallow then starts fixing a couple of plates with the same contents.

"Mallow! May I have some gratin, please?" asked Officer Jenny.

"And a pilaf, please!" added Nurse Joy.

"Right away!" said Mallow, going as fast as she could.

"So, Jenny, how's work going?" asked Nurse Joy.

"We're in great shape, so its break time." said Officer Jenny.

"Let's see." said Mallow, looking at the orders hanging up. "One stew, cheesy gratin, pilaf and one sweet roll."

"Now, sit down." said Abe. "Relax and keep those orders coming!"

"Whats dad doing?" Mallow asked herself. "I wish he would come help me back here! Uh…" Suddenly a plate drops to the floor and breaks as Steenee becomes shocked at what happened.

"Are you all right?" asked Mallow, coming out of the kitchen. "You're not hurt, are you?"

"Steenee." said a distressed Steenee.

"I'll clean this stuff up, so you could please bring me a dustpan?" Mallow asked Steenee, who then goes and gets it. Mallow starts picking up the big pieces of the plate when something on the stove starts burning as smoke appears. "Oh, No!" she shouted when she turns around to see the contents of the pan being burned. "Aw….I've done it now…."

"Mallow?" said her father, calling out from the restaurant dining room.

"Dad, I need help." Mallow tells him.

"Anna said she wants to add some cheesy rice to her order, so let's make it quick." said Abe.

"Ooh….the sweet roll sounds so good….may I?" Anna asked Abe as Mallow grips the ladle she was holding.

"Mallow, add a sweet roll to that order!" he said to her.

"May I have some Pinap Juice, if you please?" asked one customer.

"Pinap Juice for me, too!" said another customer.

"Coming up! Mallow, two Pinap Juices!" said Abe. "Mallow!" Back in the kitchen, Mallow slams the ladle down on the island. "Mallow?" Abe asked his daughter as she angrily walks past him.

"Do it yourself." she said, handing him her apron.

"Mallow?!" Abe called after her as Mallow ran out when Anna orders another item. "Coming!"

Steenee was carrying the dustpan when Mallow ran past her. "Steenee." said Steenee, surprised as Mallow went out the door. "Steenee!"

"I'm certain your restaurant's mascot, Steenee really draws in the customers…." said Anna, interviewing Abe.

"I….I guess she does…." said Abe.

"A mascot?" asked Jessie, leaning back in her chair as she watches the interview.

"If only we had a mascot….look!" said James, seeing Mallow run past their food truck.

"Look at what?" asked Jessie.

"It's the green haired Twerpette!" said Meowth.

"Steenee!" shouted Steenee, running after her.

"And her Steenee in hot pursuit!" Meowth added as he and Wobbuffet watched her and Steenee run into the forest.

"Steenee?" Jessie asked.

"It's the mascot." said James as Jessie hops out of the truck and grabs the menu.

"We're closing early!" said Jessie, once she got back in the van and Team Rocket takes off.

"All we're missing is a mascot!" said Jessie as she drove like a maniac on the road. "So once we catch that seasoned Steenee, we'll be golden! And flushed with finances!"

Mallow continued to run through the forest, imagining her father taking all the credit. "It's always me doing all the work!" thought Mallow as she ran until she suddenly trips over a rock, dropping Steenee's cookie and tumbles downhill.

Mallow landed on the forest floor, scaring a trio of Pikipek. Suddenly, the white fur monkey like Pokémon sees Mallow laying in front of its establishment. The sun sets on Melemele Island as Ash, Jordan and the others head over to Mallow's family restaurant.

"Yeah….I learned everything so fast, class let out early! Now I'll be on TV!" said Ash.

"I still wonder if they'll broadcast the segment to Kanto." said Jordan. "I want mom to see us on TV."

"Lucario!" said Meeko.

"Pika?" asked Pikachu as they all arrived at the restaurant.

"Wait a minute! It can't be….." said Kiawe as they see the TV crew leaving..

"Thank you very much." said Anna, bowing to Abe.

"Looks like stardom will have to wait…." said Sophocles as Ash groans while Lana and Jordan giggled.

"Alola!" they said as they walked up behind Abe.

"Oh, hi. You all came at the perfect time." said Abe, turning to face them. "I was wondering if you've seen Mallow anywhere around."

"No. We havent seen her since she left school earlier this afternoon." said Lillie.

"Oh, that's just great…." said Abe.

"Did something happen to her?" asked Ash as worry appeared on Jordan's face.

"No, I don't think so." said Abe. "I might've made her angry. So, she ran out of the restaurant in a huff."

Everyone became shocked as they heard this. "Mallow? A runaway?!" asked Rotom.

"And I'm afraid Steenee took off right behind her." added Abe. "I was going to start looking for them when you all showed up."

"Do you have any idea where she might have gone?" asked Kiawe.

"She may have gone to the forest." said Lana.

"I know she goes there a lot looking for ingredients for her recipes." said Lillie.

"'Kay. Let's check it out!" said Ash.

"Right." said the others and they took off into the forest. Inside the forest, a pair of Morelull and a Shiinotic were walking towards the Pokémon restaurant.

"Shiin." said Shiinotic as it sits on top of a swing above and starts glowing as well as the pair of Morelull. A leaf bandage was wrapped around Mallow's leg while Oranguru squeezed juice out of a berry. Mallow turned over and opened her eyes to see Oranguru mixing something together.

"Whats this?" she asked herself as she sits up. "I was in the forest, then I fell, and….what in the world…."

"Shiinotic." said Shiinotic, calling from above and gains Mallow's attention. Mallow then hears Oranguru moving around. "Who's there?" Mallow called out.

"Oranguru." said Oranguru, assuring her that everything was okay.

"A Pokémon?" asked Mallow, seeing it appear from its bar.

"Oranguru." Oranguru said to her.

"You're an Oranguru? Uh, I think that's what I heard." said Mallow. "Wait. Did you bandage me?"

"Oran." said Oranguru, inviting Mallow to sit down for taste the drink it made.

"Whats that?" Mallow asked, sitting down in front of the cup as Oranguru places a straw in it before pushing it towards her. "For me?"

"Guru." said Oranguru and Mallow takes a sip.

"That's great." said Mallow, then places the cup down after realizing the flavor. "You know….this Pinap juice….tastes a lot like the juice that dad makes."

"Oranguru." said Oranguru, nodding at the young girl as it smiles.

"Steenee!" Steenee called out for Mallow as she looks for her trainer, extremely worried about her. "Steenee!"

Following Steenee was Team Rocket. "Steenee!" Steenee called out again until she finds a Steenee cookie that fell out of Mallow's pocket. Team Rocket starts laughing evilly, smirking as their eyes glowed red.

"Mallow, where are you?" Kiawe asked, calling out for his friend.

"Where did you go?" Lillie called out.

"Mallow!" Ash and Jordan called out together.

"And Steenee too!" said Sophocles, clinging onto a tree.

"Please come out, Mallow!" said Abe. Snowy and Pikachu sniffed the ground, looking for Mallow's scent while Meeko tries to sense her emotions. "Pika." said Pikachu, looking at Snowy and Meeko.

"Cario…" said Meeko

"She may have gone deeper into the forest." said Ash.

"But the sun is starting to go down already." said Kiawe. "If we search for her in the dark, we run the risk of getting lost, too."

"I don't want to get lost in the dark." said Jordan.

"Lucario." said Meeko in agreement.

"And we don't need that!" said Sophocles.

"I think this would be a good time to ask my old teacher." said Abe.

"Teacher?" asked Ash and Jordan.

"You've got a teacher in the forest?" asked Ash.

"Yeah. My teacher knows this forest better than anyone else." he replied, then looks over his shoulder.

"And then, my dad gets all involved with this crazy TV interview thing, and I wind up getting stuck doing all the work!" Mallow complained to Oranguru as it makes more Pinap Juice.

"Oranguru." said Oranguru, sympathizing with her as it understand how she feels.

"And on top of that, he leaves all the cleaning and laundry at home to me, while he doesn't do a lick of work anywhere but in the restaurant!" Mallow continued.

"Oranguru?" Oranguru questioned.

"I've told him until I'm blue in the face." said Mallow, drumming her fingers on the counter. "He's tried cleaning but the place ends up filthy. And when he does laundry, all the clothes come out wrinkled, and he's terrible at folding them! It's not like I hate doing laundry, cleaning or cooking. But…I guess I just had to vent a little bit."

Oranguru sets down another cup of Pinap Juice in front of Mallow. "Thank you." she said, taking the cup. "I guess the truth is….I'd just like him to say….good job…or thanks, Mallow. Just once in a while."

"Oranguru." said Oranguru, sympathizing with her.

"Steenee!" said a scared Steenee outside of Oranguru's restaurant.

"Morelull?" asked Morelull, looking out the door.

"That was Steenee." said Mallow.

"Steen…nee." said Steenee, panicking as Team Rocket captures her.

"Catching a mascot can be bad for your health…." said Jessie, holding Steenee and Mallow opens the door.

"Whats going on?" asked Mallow, gasping at what she sees.

"Her! In all her greenness!" said Jessie as she and others quickly jumped up.

"Steenee!" shouted Steenee.

"Stop! Let Steenee go!" said Mallow.

"We've never minded you. Why should we start now?" asked Jessie.

"Your Twerpish behavior we must disavow!" said James.

"The beauty so radiant, the flowers and moon hide in shame. A single flower of evil in this fleeting world. Jessie!"

"The nobly heroic man of our times! The master of darkness fighting back against a tragic world! Its James."

"It's all for one and one for all! A glittering dark star that always shines bright! Dig it, while Meowth takes flight!"

"Team Rocket, lets fight!" said Jessie and James.

"That's right!" said Meowth.

"Wobbuffet!" said Wobbuffet.

"Now look, Team Rocket, you give Steenee back right now!" demanded Mallow.

"Sure, as if!" said Jessie. "Catching a mascot, our mascot, took a lot of hard work."

"There's only one thing that would change our minds, and that's a battle!" said James with a crazy look in his eye.

"Steenee!" Steenee called out as Mallow groans.

"Really? Little Steenee's all you have?" asked Jessie as Mallow growls at her.

"It looks like this battle is over before it starts…." said James when Oranguru appears.

"Party Crasher…." said Jessie.

"How rude can you get?" James asked Oranguru.

"Oranguru!" Mallow exclaimed.

"Ru, Ru!" Oranguru warned Team Rocket as James flips through their Alolan Handbook.

"Oranguru, here it is." said James, then recites the information from the book. "The Sage Pokémon. A normal and psychic type. Known for high intelligence, Oranguru have a tendency to be callous towards inexperience Trainers."

"Orang." taunted Oranguru as it shadowed over Team Rocket.

"Man. That's looking way down." said Meowth.

"Oranguru? Will you help me battle them?" asked Mallow.

"Ru, Ru, Orang." Oranguru told Mallow.

"Well, we're looking down on you! So, make like a tree and get out of here!" said Jessie.

"Words of Wisdom! Mareanie, on stage!" shouted James as he calls out Mareanie who then jumps onto his head. "STOP! I'm not the antagonist, they are!"

"Mareanie." Mareanie said affectionately as it releases some of its poison on James. "Mareanie."

"Oranguru." said Oranguru and uses Confusion on Mareanie with its fan.

"Your Confusion's a bust!" said James. "Mareanie, use Spike Cannon!"

"Mareanie, Reanie." said a confused Mareanie.

"Orang." said Oranguru, using Confusion once more on Mareanie.

"Or maybe not." said Jessie, looking up at Mareanie, who used Spike Cannon on her.

"Stop!" shouted James as Mareanie chases Jessie out of the forest. "It meant that in a loving way!"

Suddenly there was an explosion on the other side of Oranguru's restaurant. "Now that I've won our stupid battle, I want you to give Steenee back!" said Mallow.

"Na, na!" said Jessie, taunting Mallow. "One more confusion and the only one to be confused will be YOU!"

"Steenee!" said a frightened Steenee.

"Coward." said Mallow.

"Thank you. I'll take coward over Twerp any day." said Jessie. "Say, Meowth, why not show those laughable losers the door?"

"It's my pleasure!" said Meowth. "See, these claws are as sharp as me! As you'll find out in a second. Grab a slice and dicing from my Fury Swipes!"

"Oranguru." said Oranguru, as white light surrounded its fan and Meowth.

"Oy vey…." said Meowth as he hits a tree trunk.

"Oranguru." it said, sending Meowth back to Team Rocket.

"Not me!" shouted Jessie and holds up the net with Steenee inside. Meowth's eyes became different and used his Fury Swipes on the net, freeing Steenee. "Steenee!" exclaimed Mallow as Steenee runs over to her.

"Steenee." said Steenee, jumping into her arms.

"Talk about incompetent!" Jessie yelled at Meowth. "You let our hard-fought mascot get away!"

"I tried, but my body was marching to a different drummer." Meowth explained.

"I suspect it was utilizing the move called Instruct." said James, looking at one of Oranguru's moves from the handbook. "Instruct forces Oranguru's opponent to repeat the last move it had used last."

"Orang, Orang." Oranguru taunted Team Rocket.

"We've had enough of you….." said Mallow.

"Oranguru." Oranguru said to Mallow, encouraging her.

"Double Slap, let's go!" shouted Mallow.

"Steenee!" shouted Steenee, using her leaves on Meowth who then dodges the attack.

"Guru, Guru." said Oranguru, helping Steenee out by using Instruct again on her. Once back on the ground, Steenee used Double Slap again on Meowth, causing the cat to scream.

"You're acting like a Twerp." said Jessie.

"You'll see what a Twerp can do!" screamed Mallow. "Let's get them, Steenee!" Just then, Bewear appears in front of Team Rocket. "It's Bewear!" they exclaimed.

"Huh?" said Mallow as Oranguru looks up at Bewear and both Pokémon had a standoff as they stared at each other.

"You know…." said Jessie, "I'm starting to think Bewear really does have our backs! Why don't you use your bulk to give that purple hulk a manners lesson?"

"Oranguru! You can do it!" said Mallow as she and Steenee hid behind it.

"Bewear!"

"Oranguru!"

Red and blue energies swirled around them until they handed each other something that they needed. Oranguru held out Pinap Juice while Bewear had some honey in its hand. "That's honey, isn't it?" asked Jessie.

"I think that's Pinap juice." said Mallow.

"Bewear." said Bewear, thanking Oranguru for the Pinap Juice and picks up Team Rocket, skipping back to its cave.

"Turncoat." said Jessie.

"We're off with a new blast…." said Team Rocket as Bewear skips away.

"Wobbuffet!" said Wobbuffet as Mallow and Steenee watches them leave.

"Oranguru! Thank you so much!" said Mallow.

"Steenee!" Steenee said to Oranguru, appreciative that Oranguru took care of her trainer.

"Orang." said Oranguru, smiling.

"I'm sorry you went through that." said Mallow, picking Steenee up. "But I'm so happy that you found me!"

"Steenee." said Steenee, holding the cookie Mallow made for her. Mallow looks inside the pocket of her overalls to see that it must have fallen out. "I see." she said when suddenly there was a crash behind Oranguru. Ash, Jordan and the others arrived at Oranguru's with Lana and Jordan landing on their feet.

"Who knew all that tumbling would work." said Jordan.

"Cario, Lucar." said Meeko.

"I know, right." said Jordan.

"It's dad." said Mallow as everyone else groaned behind Lana and Jordan. "And you guys, too!"

"Mallow!" said Abe, looking at his daughter and Steenee.

"We were looking all over for you, you know!" said Ash.

"I'm sorry if I made you worry." Mallow said, apologetically.

"Oranguru." said Oranguru in agreement.

"Pika. Lucar." said Pikachu and Meeko.

"A Pokémon?" asked Ash.

"It's an Oranguru." said Rotom.

"Mallow! You're all right! I'm so glad we found you!" said Abe and Mallow turns around in a huff. "Mallow…"

"Promise me you won't be like that with mom." Ash whispered to Jordan.

"I don't have to promise, Ash." Jordan whispered back. "I'm never going to do that as long as I live."

"I'm sorry." he said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I'd really like to give it a fresh start. Huh? What happened to your knee?"

"I hurt it, so Oranguru put a bandage on it." replied Mallow.

"Teacher. So it was you!" said Abe.

"Huh?" said the kids, all surprised that Oranguru was Abe's Teacher.

"Beep-beep. So your forest teacher is this Oranguru?" asked Rotom.

"A long time ago, back when I was first opening the restaurant, I was trying to decide what to put on the menu…." Abe started to explain. "Lost in thought, I found myself lost in the forest."

[Flashback]

Young Abe was walking through the forest and fell on the same rock as Mallow. He then starts tumbling downhill and ended up in front of Oranguru's restaurant.

"But Oranguru found me injured and treated me, even listening to me talk about my problems." said Abe. "The Pinap Juice Oranguru gave me was so delicious that I realized it was just what my menu needed! Since then, I've thought of Oranguru as my teacher."

[Flashback ends]

"After that, rumors of my teacher spread throughout town, and the people of the island started coming here because Oranguru made them feel better!" said Abe. "They helped turned this into the place you now see."

"Can me and my Pokémon come to you so that we can complain about him?" Jordan asked Oranguru, pointing to Ash.

"Orang." said Oranguru, nodding.

"You don't know how much I've come to rely on you, so I wanted to thank…." Abe was saying when Oranguru stopped him in mid-sentence.

"Orang." said Oranguru, looking over at Mallow.

"Oranguru's right. Mallow?" Abe asked.

"What?" she asked angrily.

"Thanks so much!" said Abe. "You're always helping me Cooking and cleaning and doing things around the restaurant. You do so much for me. Truly. Thank you!"

As her father said this, Mallow starts sniffling and wipes the tears from her eyes. "Oh, daddy, daddy, I'm so sorry!" cried Mallow as she ran up to hug him.

"It's all right." he said, hugging her closely.

"Steenee!" Steenee said happily.

"Oranguru." said Oranguru.

Narrator: Nobody should ever forget to say thank you or I'm sorry. Emotions come straight from the heart.

Jordan: You know something, Narrator Guy?

Narrator: What?

Jordan: Thank you for being here with me and Ash on our journeys. We appreciate you for telling the viewers and readers at home.

"Ah! That Gumshoos has this attitude these days like it's a real detective!" said Officer Jenny.
