Hello everyone we are back with a brand new chapter for TMD, my now FOCUSED and main story on the profile, which I will get to those who have no idea what I mean if you didn't get the update. I had a blast when writing this chapter and I can't wait to finally bring this series to it's true potential. This actually didn't take that long to write but I had it planned out FOREVER! For now let's get into review responses.
Tmartn2001: This volume. When I won't say. Enjoy!
KaolinKnight: Thanks, well I get what you're saying and we'll see it's not so bad. It's not like I'm having people like Cyclops or Wolverine or Thor in the harem, it's like one to maybe three guys and it is no one you would know but who knows maybe I'll change my mind. If you like short stories my Calamity Trio story is a blast and very fun to write, enjoy!
Hunter41963801: Thank you! Enjoy!
Bromega2477: I realize that now, but I can't tell if you're still confused now. This isn't Peni Parker the anime girl, this is Penny Parker, aka Genderbend Peter Parker based on Detnox's Genderbend Penny. Or MrWick Penny Parker/Spider-Girl. My guy, if you saw the harem as it is now which is ever changing (Getting bigger or smaller lol) you would see a few femboy's is the least of the problem. It's still my decision and I'm on the fence. Hmm good choices, I'll think about Gargoyle but we'll see. Enjoy!
Spiral-Voltron-Zero0Q1: Thanks! Enjoy!
ShaneBaxter: Funny enough I changed the design I'll get to that at the bottom. Enjoy!
Jebest4781: Yes, yes they will. Enjoy!
Yakuza2010: Hmm, I like the story idea, I'll see how I can incorporate it into the story. Enjoy!
DuckBoi: Thanks. Trust you're not offending I don't really care about all that stuff, but I want to try out making my character Bi-Sexual (Mostly straight). It doesn't really mess with my other story since...I only got like three series I'm working on (This one, SW, and the short story of Calamity Trio.). Well I love the ideas and I do have a lot planned with them, I'm always open to ideas. Enjoy!
Guest: And I respect it, and I thank you for your input. Enjoy!
Allstar912: Thanks! Enjoy!
Devon18: Thanks I'm glad you are like it so far. Guys, guys, if we're being honest it it's like literally 99.9999999999% girls who Ragna mainly flirts with and a FEW guys. Like literally on one or two hands is the max. I'm mean I'm not into dudes either but I'm not my character aside from some interests I have or skills I got. Romance itself is complicated and very much FUN to write, and I want to explore a Bisexual relationship. Of course I'd say it was far from perfect in ADJ, I think TMD will be a good step in the right direction. Anyways I'm going off tangent. I understand and respect your opinion, I'm still on the fence and we'll see, it's mostly leaning doing it but again, MOSTLY girls. Anyways, I'm always open and considering opinions and ideas if you have them. Enjoy!
I would also like to reiterate that I don't think ANYONE who is against the idea is bad or a bigot obv. I get it, I fully know you guys aren't saying this out of some malicious intent, you just don't want it which I fully understand. I realistically don't care for that sort of thing, I just want to try a new thing for my character cause it's fun. It isn't about being 'woke' or Progressive or some other crap like that, it's just for fun. I understand your concerns and fully respect them, but I still wanna explore it. I mean if I go and do it though I am leaning towards yes. I hope everyone can respect that. But again, MAJORLY focused on the girls and MAINLY the girls. Anyays...
Blindluck92: XD I would love to write that, but the way I have it be revealed involves a certain...Goblin. Aw thanks I really glad you notice that, I'm trying to keep it as subtle as I could be without just blatantly writing it or IN YOUR FACE type of deal. You'll notice that too in this chapter as well. Naw man that's not Ragna's style, if he has the chance he will absolutely cop a feel...when it's his girls or on accident after I realize how that first part sounded bad lol. Thanks about the Stan Lee reference (RIP), I'm gonna try and use small time references few and far, more easter eggs than just 'hey there's a statue of Beta Ray Bill you're never gonna see him on screen' type of thing. I hope you like this chapter. Enjoy!
Jobro89: Thanks! Hmm not sure what you mean since he does man up, I would be pretty upset if I had an entire life, no one told me, and I find out via an over-sized gator trying to kill me. But to each their own I guess lol. Well I hope you like this chapter, Enjoy!
Kageknuser2710: Eh sort of more like a menagerie of characters like Uzui Tengen from DS, well if you look through the AN you would see the characters I based him on. Enjoy!
Necros the Saiyan Knight: Not anytime soon, but after Volume 4 cause I wanna build it up and I have a reason for that. Ya know I haven't fully decided yet, but if I did do two teams I wouldn't worry to much about the Bat. Yes, MK will happen in this series just gotta find the spot I'm gonna have it in. In the meantime, Enjoy!
Phoinix Slayer5: Yes and Yes. Enjoy!
SaiyaSage: Hehe whoops totally forgot one my B XD. Anyways, I really appreciate the support Sage. Thanks I really do enoy Ragna's reactions and this chapter was my best so far on screen. TBF I did have this whole subtle plotline about ADJ slowly abandoning his humanity as a couple volumes went on...but we'll explore something similar here lol. Thanks man I appreciate it, I feel the same way when the day you FINALLY UPDATE and I can enjoy a single chapter lol. Well if you enjoyed the arc in general I think you'll enjoy the next chapter in the volume! Enjoy!
With that, onto the story!
Chapter Five: The Teacher
(The Marvelous Devil)
"Wh…Huh?" Ragna mumbled, eyes slowly opening up to stare at a clear blue sky, and yet there were no car horns or skyscrapers above so he wasn't in Redgrave….which he remembered that is where he lived and went to bed. Pulling himself up Ragna felt the soft touch of grass on his fingers, wondering how he got outside in the first place, when his eyes landed on the mansion. The same one from his dreams….then that means.
"Sparda….." And just like before the front doors burst open, revealing the woman standing in the light, her silhouette obscured by the light within the house. She offered her slender arm, a red shawl trailing off it. Ragna stood up and began walking towards the woman, her features seemed so familiar and yet he can't quite place it.
"Sparda!" Ragna's body was flung back as the entire mansion exploded in flames. He shielded his eyes from the intense heat, looking up to see the woman exploded in flames and bones. Ragna watched in horror as building kept on burning, the woman's skull rolling to his feet, followed by the sound of laughter echoing in the house.
"SPARDA!" Ragna's head shot up as the side of the house exploded and something MASSIVE burst out roaring with flames around its body. It was the biggest creature Ragna had ever seen on land, at least 30m-50m in height alone, with curved horns that made it look taller and a tail that swung back and forth. The beast let out an ear-deafening roar as fire burned around it, before it turned its attention on Ragna. The hybrid didn't need to be told twice that that thing was a demon, the behemoth slowly making its way towards him. However, the two suddenly became consumed in a blinding light, blowing away the fire around them, the hybrid looking between his fingers seeing something-or someone-in the distance.
"...Mom!" Ragna jerked up, sweat beading down his forehead gasping in panic as he studied his surroundings. He once again found himself in his bedroom: No mansion, no woman, and no demon.
"Wha-What?!"
But there was a girl in his room, Ragna looked to his right to see Penny shoot up in alert, looking up at Ragna. Her eyes were still dazed from just being forced awake, her short hair messy from laying on his chest.
"Mm-Ragna, shud uf." Right, Penny wasn't the only one, looking down to see Gwen laying on his crotch with a pillow, drooling onto his boxers. Looking to his left Kyrie laid on her side with his arm as a pillar, surprisingly still clinging onto him despite the fact he was sitting up.
"Raggy….go bath tch sle…" Kyrie mumbled in her sleep, snuggling her bosom on his thigh.
"Uh-Sorry girls." Ragna whispered, rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. It had been a few days since the incident with Ancala at the Academy. With the school destroyed it meant online classes would begin today in about…..four hours. Fantastic.
"Ragna? Are you okay? It sounded like you had a bad dream." Penny muttered, rubbing her eyes.
"O-Oh yeah just a bad dream about…Um." Ragna realized he didn't have to tell her what was in, but now it was too late as Penny was waiting for an answer even in her half-glazed state.
"I…I was…..was…..um…..It was about listening to Amy Schumer while….she read…..The Climate Book by that Greta girl." Ragna mentally slapped himself and berated himself, the truth might as well have been simpler.
"That sounds horrible."
"Yeah, just as horrible as not getting any damn sleep." Gwen mumbled from her spot.
"It was a terrible, terrible nightmare." Ragna nodded along with Penny.
"Ok…..well….good ni...Ah." Penny mumbled as she laid back down, snoring softly on his pillow. The hybrid sighed in relief, slapping himself for such a dumb lie, and looking down at the three girls. He leaned forward and ruffled Gwen's hair, smiling at her mutters before leaning back down, wrapping his free hand around Penny. He could only wonder what morning would bring as everything had taken a big change on his life: First he is attacked by the demon Ancala, he finds out he is the son of a legendary demon warrior of hell is numero uno on Hell's list. He also had a cool sword hidden in his closet, a Devil Arm or whatever she called it. Right, he also had amnesia, with no memories of his parents besides a burnt picture.
Oh and he had sex with Penny, so things were definitely turning around.
VRRM VRRM
Looking over Penny's shoulder Ragna noticed his phone vibrating on the desk. Reaching over he picked it up and noticed he got a text from an unknown ID.
'New phone who dis?'
'Son of Sparda, it's Trish'
'Trish? Wat up?'
'Training begins tomorrow, meet me on roof after school'
Ragna hummed to himself, setting the phone down and pulling the girls closer together. Trish had been absent since he declared himself a hero for Redgrave City, its first one officially. Redgrave didn't have a signature hero like its siblings like New York with the Spider-Heroines or in Metropolis with Power Girl, or the Dark Crusader in Gotham. Sure heroes showed up from time to time but it was mainly due to catching runaway villains or gangs. Now he was here, and he will protect this city he calls home.
"Maybe….maybe things are finally turning arou-OOF!" Ragna grunted as a pillow slapped him in the face, courtesy of Gwen.
"Go to sleep."
(The Marvelous Devil)
"Now could anyone…..Mr. Redgrave, can you please pay attention!"
"Ragna." Aunt Cass whispered as she lightly tapped said teen on the head with a whisk, jolting him up from his spot on the couch beside the girls. The four were taking their last class which happened to be in Mathematics and considering how prestigious Redgrave Academy was, it was accessible on all levels from Algebra 2 to even Calculus. His teacher, an older woman by the name of Miss Noose, glared at the teen with several others on the call the girls included.
"H-Huh, oh uh…E=MC2?" Ragna yawned, stretching his limbs before Mochi hopped on his lap and hopped off, just to piss him off no doubt.
"Mmmhmm, why don't you help us with this next problem: Finding the unknown dimension of a cube given the problem." Mrs. Noose suggested, popping up a new screen showing the problem, three cubes with one bigger than the other and the question being the length of Cube A through C.
"..."
"...I understand if this question is to much for you Mr. Redgrave, but this should be a valuable lesson in focusing in clas-!"
"A is 3ft, B is 6FT, and C is 10ft."
"...Pardon." Ragna took a deep breath, rubbing his tired eyes before picking up his pencil and began writing. One thing he would never admit outloud was that while he was no tech wiz like Penny, he was good in Math being one of his better grades besides History and English. He would be lying if he said it had nothing to do with Uncle Ben. Sure he didn't care about math, for a plethora of reasons, but for the old man he would be better or at least average. He wouldn't consider himself some mathematical wizard, but a problem like this had a pretty easy solution.
"First we use the formula: V=LxWxH, and because it's a cube all dimensions are the same. The volume for A is 27, and with the 3 we can use a Cube root. So it would be the Cube root of 27, which would be 3. 3 times 3 would be 9, and 9 times 3 would be 27. Ya get it. For B we're gonna do the same equation but with 216…we cube root this….and…..it's 6. Finally with C which is 1000ft, same equation, same cube and…..it's ten." Ragna finished holding up his paper revealing, yawning as Penny and Kyrie excitedly clapped, Gwen holding up a thumb.
"...Very good, now please stay focus, Mr. Redgrave."
"You got it tea-Oh no, my laptop's camera mysteriously turned off and all you can see is my handsome image. Oh no, but don't worry I'm still listening…..Probably." Ragna muttered as he leaned back in his chair, putting on headphones.
"...Ya know, if ya tried like ya do with math and history, you would probably pass every class with flying colors." Gwen whispered, pulling out Ragna's headphones.
"One: No I wouldn't. Two: No I wouldn't because I suck at Spanish. And finally: No I wouldn't cause I suck at Science." Ragna explained. You could ask him the simple definition of photosynthesis and the chemical symbol for water…..he could not care or even understand everything else.
"But I thought you liked watching Spanish Dramas with Cass?"
"Telenovela's, and just because I watch them doesn't mean I understand them, plus they have subtitles." Ragna answered, leaning back in his chair to see Cass staring down at him with a small frown.
"Aren't you supposed to be listening, Young Man?"
"I am. I'm just….yeah I got nothing." Ragna admitted before Cass sighed, kissing his forehead.
"Get back to work, and tonight we can even watch some more telenovelas, does that sound fun?" Cass offered, she loved watching dramas or just shows in general with Ragna. It being one of the few things they could do together…..that and cooking.
"...Okay but I'm cooking tonight and choosing the show, I haven't seen Pedro El Escamoso in a few weeks and I wanna get back to binge watching." Ragna stated, earning a chuckle and a pet to his head by Cass.
"Deal, now get back to work."
"Aw, we're gonna miss Ragna's cooking." Kyrie pouted from her spot, followed by Penny while Gwen scowled. Well he didn't wanna bra….Okay that was wrong, he loved bragging about it: He was amazing at cooking. Sure he wasn't Gordon Ramsey but Ragna would love to call himself a younger more handsome Ramsey…..Or Sanji from One Piece. Either one works when it comes to cooking. He loved cooking and when Cass helped raise him she taught him all about cooking and since he could remember he did all he could to better himself. It also helped him score with girls or at least with his girlfriends since they loved his cooking.
"...If you don't have any left overs tomorrow, I will BURN every manga you have." Gwen whispered inbetween his headphone and ear.
They really LOVED his food.
"...Yes Gwen." Ragna muttered. Finally sometime had passed and before Ragna knew it, probably cause he fell asleep in the las twenty minutes. Once they were done they closed their laptops and began packing for home. Cass hugged the girls goodbye as Ragna walked them out, the four waiting for the bus to arrive.
"Are you sure you don't want me to walk ya home, Kyrie?" Ragna asked. He was sure she would make it home safely….well that was before he knew he was the Son of a demon….and demons were real.
"Oh don't worry Ragna, I can handle myself." Kyrie reassurred her boyfriend, even showing her taser and pepper spray she had in her purse. Compared to places like Gotham Redgave was pretty safe…but it was better to be safe then sorry.
"Hey, how come I don't get an offer to be walked home?" Penny pouted, only to giggle once Ragna picked her up by the ass and peppered her with kisses.
"Perv." Gwen grumbled only to blush as Ragna pulled her a sidehug.
"Oh there's the bus! I should probably be heading home. Bye girls!" Kyrie wrapped her arms around Penny and Gwen kissing their cheeks. She gaved Ragna a peck on his left cheek and squeezed him in a tight hug. Penny leaned up and kissed Ragna's right cheek and whispered a few sweet things in his ear. He couldn't help but ogle her butt a few seconds as she hopped onto the bus, finally turning to Gwen. The rocker blushed before leaning up and kissing him on the lips, quickly turning around and walking into the transport vehicle. He waved the girls goodbye before taking a deep breath, smiling before he got a text.
"Right….here we go."
"Aunt Cass! We're missing a few things in the fridge, I'm gonna head to the store and get them." Ragna called from the entrance, while the bathroom had been destroyed thanks to Ancala the shop was still open though it was less customers than usual.
"Alright, just be back before dinner." Ragna nodded and quickly walked out of sight, taking a right and down the alley between the cafe and the other building. He climbed up the ladder to the second floor and opened up his window, grabbing his wallet just so he could buy something, as well as walking into his closet and pulling out the silver broadsword. He quickly made his way up to the roof and found her standing at the far end, Trish's back to him as she overlooked the city.
"Well you aren't late, as I thought you would be, color me surprise." Trish teased as she turned to the Son of Sparda, her bosom jiggling within the confines of her corset which did not go unnoticed by the hybrid.
"Between this and school I'd rather do this anytime of the week." Ragna said as he jogged up to her.
"You'll be singing a different tune when I'm done with you."
"Wait, what?"
"Nothing, anyways I found a perfect spot for us." Trish explained placing a hand on Ragna's shoulder.
"Sweet! But how are we gonna get there? If it's far I don't think I'll have time to get groceries and get back in time." Ragna said, rubbing his chin wondering how he was gonna do this and where they were heading. Trish chuckled as she held up her free hand, electricity shooting out of it.
"Relax, we'll be there in a-!"
SNAP
KRA-KOOM
"AAAHHHH!" Ragna screamed as a flash of lightning struck him, and one more he was standing on the roof to the cafe, the next he was in an abandoned parking lot.
"Snap."
"What….What just happened?!" Ragna exclaimed as he looked down at his own hands, seeing arcs of lightning shoot across them, before he noticed his raven hair standing up like an anime hero.
"I'll explain in a minute, for now come and sit down." Trish stated, gesturing to a chair in the middle of the parking lot. Ragna stared at the bonafide and alluring woman before walking over and taking a seat as Trish stood in front of him crossing her arms and pushing up her breasts.
"Now before we begin how long can you stay out before your Cass gets nervous?" Trish asked.
"Well we'll start dinner at six, so I got a few hours and so long as I keep updating her I should be fine." Ragna explained, gesturing to the new phone he got yesterday with Cass.
"You care for that woman?"
"Well yeah, she practically helped raised me with Aunt Leslie when I….lost my mom." Ragna admitted, rubbing the back of his head.
"Did she know your mother?"
"Yeah, but Cass doesn't like talking about it, brings up bad memories…..and I guess in hindsight I should've realized I don't remember anything when I didn't have any memories of her." Ragna grumbled, staring down at his hands.
"You…don't remember your mother? Anything?" Trish asked, eyes wide in surprise. She had no idea that Ragna had no recollection of his mother…..which means he has no idea of that power.
"No, nothing yet, I barely even recognize her even with the photo Leslie gave me. Apparently I was six when she died and I got amnesia." Ragna explained.
"And do you know what the worst part is?" Trish tilted her head, waiting for the hybrids answer.
"I….I have no idea how to react to it. I mean I was angry when Leslie finally told me the truth: I have a family, a mom and dad…..and I don't remember anything about them. Their looks, their voices, laughs, hobbies, memories….nothing. Should I be sad, angry, mournful? God I know this sounds pathetic, and I hate being pathetic….but I don't know what to do." Ragna finally admitted. Trish stared at the hybrid for a few moments in shock, before taking a deep breath and placing a hand on his shoulder. She needed him focused, not like this, this was not her mission.
"Listen, let's focus on your powers, that should help clear your head." Trish offered stepping back.
"Right, right, sorry about that. Hate that emo crap." Ragna chuckled as he shook his head, Trish smiling before clearing her throat.
"Well we have a few hours, and I think the first hour I'll begin explaining the powers of the Devil and how each one works." Trish began.
"Wait, what? Aw man I gotta do a history lesson? FFFFuuuuccc-OWW!" Ragna groaned as Trish bonked his head.
"If you want to learn and control your powers, you have to understand them, first." Trish stated, before holding up her hand.
"I do understand them, I got cool regenerative healing and super strength, what more is there?" Ragna asked, shrugging his shoulders. Sure he wouldn't mind training but he figured it was more physical training, he could care less about some sort of history lesson.
ZAP
"YEOW!" Ragna yelped as lightning zapped him in the arm. She rolled her eyes before pointing at his chest, lightning coursing through the fingertip.
"What do you think is the difference between me and you?"
"Uh…..You got boobs? OW!" Ragna grunted as she zapped his arm again.
"THE difference is that I've had years of training and mastering my powers, and you couldn't even comprehend the iceberg that is the pinnacle of power within creation: The Powers of the Devil." Trish began, taking her finger and by magic her nail grew longer and sharper. Ragna watched as she dragged it against her left palm, holding it up to reveal the open cut on her hand and just as it had opened it resealed itself.
"Regenerative healing, Super Strength, Heighten sense of smell: These are all part of your biological nature, the inner power within the Devil. There is, however, the external force that a devil utilizes. The Seven Forces of Inferno." Trish said, holding a finger up.
"Seven Deadly Powers that make Demons one of the most powerful forces in Creation. Each power is more deadly than the last, to the point where only the Demon Kings of Inferno are said to wield all seven without complete struggle. But, you being the Son of Sparda the most powerful of them all, might be lucky."
"Might be?"
"Let's start with the first one, the life blood of Hell, the power of the Sin Wrath: Inferno." Trish said, reaching down and picking up a piece of paper under her boot, crumbling it up before zapping it. Ragna watched as it burst into flames, quickly burning into ash.
"Hellfire, the primal force of the Underworld, Hell, most Demon Tribes are capable of using Inferno. It is the most accessible, and yet could be argued to be one of the most powerful of the Seven Sins…..if one trains long enough. Hellfire is different from your ordinary fire, as it can leave permanent scars on its victims if not controlled and can only be healed via the healing powers of the divine and holy. With enough training you could conjure hellfire as hot as the Sun." Trish finished, flicking the ash off her hand.
"Woah."
"And with enough focus and training you can access the transformative technique: Inferno Mode which will give you even more control over Hellfire and even cover in a cloak of flames." Trish explained.
"Inferno Mode? Wait, there are modes to the powers?"
"Yes, each power has a mode that allows more access to the demon power and even the perks to them. Of course with the perks there are downsides, very….fatal downsides." Trish mentioned, rubbing her chin.
"Downsides? Fatal? Wait, how come there are downsides?" Ragna asked. Why the hell should he have problems with these powers, should he even have them at all?
"Whats the first thing that pops in your head when thinking of a demon, Ragna?" Trish asked.
"Um, uh…..Oh! Red skin, horns, an arrow tail, and sometimes a goate-OW!"
"What's the second thing?" Trish groaned, shaking her head.
"Um…..Uh…..They make deals don't they?"
"Bingo. Whether its in fiction or in real life, demons are notorious for making deals. These external forces of Hell are the same, like a double edged sword. They have no will of their own except the user, but even if they are fatal, you cannot take without giving. For Inferno it is Hellfire itself when in the Modes, Inferno Mode for example, the demon body itself, while incredibly greater than humans by lower class, it is not invincible and therefore is susceptible to the burning nature of Hellfire. If a demon is in Inferno Mode for long periods of time, the fire will consume the body and burn it from the inside out."
"It would kill you?"
"Pretty much, yes."
"Then…..what about me?" Ragna asked, gesturing to his heart, Trish sighed as she rubbed the side of her neck awkwardly.
"To be honest Ragna, while you do have a body stronger than most humans on Earth. It is STILL a human body, a lower class demon could only be in Inferno Mode for no more than fifteen minutes if not less…without training you would barely survive half that time." Trish guessed. She really had no idea, considering Ragna was a special case and not the norm within the Underworld.
"Wait, if this power can kill me, why am I even training for it?! The power can kill me regardless!" Ragna exclaimed exasperatedly, throwing his hands in the air. It seemed like a waste of time to try and train his body for a power that would kill him regardless.
"Ragna, ignoring the fact that if you don't utilize these special gifts you will die from greater forces, you're already proving to be a resilient little bugger." Trish argued, holding up her finger.
"I've zapped you with enough electricity to stop a human's heart two times over."
"...You WHAT?!"
"And with enough training, and with your father's blood flowing through your veins, you should be able to master and last within these powers." Trish said, smiling down at the hybrid.
"Alright, moving on I-!"
"Hold on, let's rewind a bit, you were zapping me with voltage to stop my heart? Could it have killed ya to warn me?!" Ragna asked with wide eyes.
"If I did, your body would've flexed up in preparation, but with your body at ease it wouldn't have had time to withstand it. Seeing how you react and take it proves that you are getting stronger by the day."
"...A little warning next time please." Ragna grumbled as Trish chuckled.
"No promises. Now moving on we have the flow of the Underworld, the speedforce of Hell, born and powered by the Sin Lust: Lightning." Trish held her hand up shooting arcs of lightning from her fingertip, voltage spiraling around her feet.
"With this power you control the lightning of Inferno, even twisting the storms to your will. But the main purpose is that your speed is increased ten fold, and even more so in its transformative technique: Blitzkrieg Mode. With enough training you could pull and beckon the storms with your will. Even without training you could break the sound barrier with ease, but if you do, you could surpass Light itself. Many higher up demons could already but Blitzkrieg triples that speed."
"So I would be like the Flash in Central City?" Ragna asked.
"I don't know who that is."
"Flash? Fastest Woman alive? Speedster?" Ragna asked, Trish shrugged her shoulders before continuing.
"I'm not really as fascinated in heroes as you are, Ragna. Moving on I should talk about the limits with Lightning. You see, while you would be the fastest it would only be so if you were moving in a straight line."
"Huh?"
"Think of it like….air and lightning." Trish began as a gust of wind blew through the open parking lot, illustrating her point.
"Air is fluent, it goes up or down or around, it curves. Lightning, while it goes wherever it wants, it is much more narrow and zig zag. The same with Blitzkrieg, you can go fast in one direction but you can't easily turn without proper control. Even then there's also the adrenaline, a demon's heart can handle only so much before it would explode."
"...I'm sorry, EXPLODE?!"
"Though that mostly happens with lower class demons who aren't naturally born in the Circle of Lust. Mostly higher up demons would simply go through a myocardial rupture or….as I've said, make your heart explode."
"...Okay. Okay, cool, cool, cool, cool." Ragna muttered.
"Of course this only happens if one overexerts themselves, Ragna, it's very rare among the royal and higher up demons and with training this shouldn't happen with you. It's possible, but it's a low possibility with the worst case you'll get a heart attack."
"That makes me feel less scared." Ragna groaned, running a hand through his hair.
"Trust me you'll be singing a different tune when you finally master these powers." Trish stated nonchalantly, brushing off his concern.
"Moving on we have a more….complicated power." Trish started.
"Right, cause the powers that could make my heart explode or burn me from the inside out like the burning man aren't complicated enough." Ragna stated sarcastically.
"Ragna. Anyways, you could consider your father as the founder and creator of this power, the Power of Primal Nature of the Underworld. Powered by the Sin of Pride: Beast." Trish boasted with a dramatic flair, as if this power was to be revered and for her it was.
"This power will enable you to tap into your more animalistic nature as a Devil: heightened senses, more flexible and athletic body, an animal so to speak. Your powers are heightened even greater when in Indura Mode, but that's not the mode's main purpose."
"What's an Indura?" Ragna asked.
"Focus Ragna, now, the main power of Indura Mode is that your strength and speed will continue to grow by the second. It's not permanent though, and it comes with the drawbacks, such as losing yourself." Trish explained.
"Losing myself?"
"Yes, think of it like tunnel vision. While you are in this state, all of your focus will be on that individual whether they be friend or foe, to the point where you lose yourself. However, because it is not permanent once your limit is over you will lose most if not all of your strength and are vulnerable." Trish said, Ragna nodding his head as she did. It was like an adrenaline rush, for a moment he could be the most powerful hero on the planet only to lose it afterwards, and possibly himself.
"What's the time limit for this Indura Mode?"
"The highest ever recorded in Infernal History was your father for over an hour but that was when he was chained and trying to master it. In a fight the highest was half that time, and without proper training barely ten minutes. Of course even without Indura Mode you still have its powers of Beast such as the heightened senses, your primal nature, and-!"
"Can I transform into a giant beast?"
"...Where did you get that idea?" Trish asked. Ragna hummed for a moment before shrugging.
"No idea, it sounded cool with all this talk about going beast mode." Ragna answered.
"Well….yes, but you're not even close to ready for that sort of thing, maybe I'll tell ya one day." Trish said. They haven't even started training, no way is he even close to accessing…..that power.
"Moving on we have the power of within, the Fuel of Demons that gives them Drive, powered by the Sin of Avarice: Blood." Trish held her palm up showing the dried blood on her hand, pulling a napkin from her pocket and wiping it away.
"Most Demons are born from blood, but only those of that Tribe focus on using blood to it's true potential: manipulating it into solid weapons, draining it from your victims, or controlling it with your will."
"So basically like vampires." Ragna summarized.
"Well they are sub-category within the Infernal Hierarchy."
"I'm sorry what?!"
"With this power you can tap into the Blood's state: Carnage Mode. With this mode you sacrifice your body's natural regenerative healing for power. When you take damage the blood or pain in your body becomes energy and that energy fuels you with more strength. However, as I've said this takes away your regenerative healing and well…blood is still needed to make the body work. If you continue to run yourself dry of blood you'll die." Trish finished.
"And with humans only able to handle about 2000 mL or just about 0.53 gallons…..Probably won't be using this mode much." Ragna muttered.
"Ragna, the form doesn't require you to stab yourself or get stabbed to gain that power. It simply requires you take damage in return you gain strength. Besides you'd be surprised on how much blood you can lose before finally collapsing with your demonic biology"
"So I become a masochist, great." Ragna rolled his eyes while Trish chuckled.
"Alright. Next we have the stillness of the Underworld, the Power of Sloth, the power to freeze everything including Time itself: Ice." Trish began, gesturing to Ragna's chest.
"With this power you can freeze your enemies in place, create gauntlets of ice to slam into your foes, with a wave of your hand you could form mountainous size glaziers at Absolute Zero. However, with this power comes its strain which would arguably be much more harder than the rest cause of your human body Ragna." Trish said.
"Let me guess, I would freeze to death." Ragna answered. It didn't take a genius to know that ice, especially at and below Absolute Zero, was fatal.
"Exactly, while it would take time, probably less with your human body, you could still die from hyperthermia from prolonged use. You could still master and control this power, and of course it could be used in tandem with Inferno so you could most likely use it indefinitely."
"Oh so I could mix these powers together?" Ragna asked, eyes widening in excitement, that sounded cool.
"Of course, the only limit is your body and the mind, of course it will be much easier to access these fusions within El Diablo." Trish rambled on, rubbing her chin of the possibilities the boy could use.
"...El Diablo?"
"Back to Ice." Trish ignored Ragna, looking back at him. "While Ice is a tricky one, it's not impossible and will be much easier when you access Absolute Zero Mode, its transformation technique."
"Eh, could use a better name." Ragna muttered, Trish bonking his head in retort as she continued.
"Much like how Hellfire could heat you up, your enemies, if mastered in Hellfire or just fireborne, will be quite resistant to Ice. This can be said for a lot of these powers, and demons on your level and beyond it."
"This also goes for your other abilities Ragna, you may master these powers someday but they don't make you invincible. There will always be a stronger demon, and even with these powers if they are on your level and very likely beyond, you won't be of match. Fortunately for you ever since the Gates of Hell have been closed by your father, such demons have not been seen in over two thousand years."
"But there are really strong demons out there?" Ragna asked.
"Indeed, I'm sure there are packs here and there, hiding in the shadows sniffing for your scent. Popping out from the demon realm or born the demons left behind here." Trish said, gesturing to his coat. She could smell the young hybrid, and for a human he would smell like smoked peanuts and pizza, for a demon it was an intoxicating stench.
"Wait, if my dad closed the demon realm off, how can they still get through?" Ragna asked, wondering how ANY could get in if the gates were closed.
"Even the mightiest wall has a crack or opening to fit through, while it is not possible for ALL of Hell to get through, weaker level demons or just strong enough elites or champions crawl through the cracks from the Gate and into the Mortal Realm. Even then, when your father closed the gates there were plenty of Demons left behind cause they were too far behind. Without the Gates opened they lost a great majority of their grand power, and much like Ancala, are a former shell of their former self."
"Do Demons need Hell opened to be at their full strength?"
"Mostly yes, while demons thrive off their emotions and the indulgence of Sin, Hell is where they will be at their strongest cause it is their nature."
"Hmm…..I don't know if I should be relieved or insulted that I'm fighting demons at only half their strength." Ragna muttered, shaking his head. Even if he trained, a part of him felt annoyed that the demons he would be fighting wouldn't even be at their prime. Why….why did that annoy him? Shouldn't he be glad? Weird.
"Don't underestimate them, even Champions or Elites still have the power to cleave your precious City of Redgrave in two if they want. Luckily and hopefully soon you will too." Trish said, seemingly praising Ragna and giving him a bit of a confidence boost.
"Heh, thanks Trish, glad to know you got faith in me."
"I wouldn't be here if I didn't, otherwise you'd have been Ancala's or another demon's morning meal."
"...Vivid." Ragna paled a bit before Trish continued.
"Now this one is a bit harder to explain, as I'm not a total fan of it. This power is the Decay of the Underworld, the Indulgence of Everlasting, the Sin of Gluttony: Necromancy." Trish stated and yet gagged as if she tasted a disgusting meal.
"Necromancy? Like the dead? How is the dead or undead in tandem with Gluttony, which is more like over-indulgence?" Ragna asked, unsure how any of it made sense.
"Much like how Blood is the Power of the Sin Avarice: You want more pain, for more strength, and more pain means more power for you. Necromancy is no different but it is the indulgence, an over-indulgence in your control of Death. Can you even imagine what that is like, to control the Dead? An army of immortal spirits at your control? The more you kill the more you have under your control, the more you want under your belt."
"I guess that makes sense, but I'm not really a big fan of zombies so I really wouldn't be us-!"
"No, No. Ragna, not zombies, you would be using the Souls of Demons you have defeated and absorbed into your own soul. While it is normal to use undead, skeletons, and even zombie demons, it is mainly for Necromancers both Demon and Mortal. However, for those that wish to use Necromancy's true power, it is the Soul. The more you kill and harness the soul the stronger you become. Especially in Reaper Mode, where you can fully utilize the souls of those you defeated, forming a full on army and controlling the source of Necromancy, Necroplasm." Trish said.
"Necroplasm, if I had to describe it, would be gunk from the souls of Mortals when they are plunged into Inferno. Gunk that became one of the main power sources for the forces of Hell and especially for it's most dangerous forces the Hellspawns. The true origination of this power I am unclear of, but when the souls of man and other mortals arrived in Hell it fused with the gunk of their soul and became the force that can control the Spirit of Demon, Man, and even the Divine. I should also explain the drawback of Necromancy and that is the usage of the Spirits. One or two Demons is fine but continue to summon and create more Spirits that you have killed drains your own soul until you essentially become a ghoul. It's not permanent but it leaves you vulnerable." Trish finished taking a deep breath, now walking back and forth in front of the hybrid, one finger raised high.
"These powers are the greatest source of a Devil's strength, but they are extremely dangerous for a hybrid like you. They are, however, not impossible to attain and on paper they are exactly easy to get. Mastering them is the true challenge, and we have a long way to go with one more harder than the rest."
"If you want a more solid idea, here is how we will go with your training from the easiest power to the hardest: Inferno, Lightning, Beast, Blood, Ice, and Necromancy. Now Infern-!"
"Hold on, what's the seventh?" Ragna asked, noticing she had completely skipped over the seventh power. He noticed her body stiffened for a second before she relaxed, her eyes staring at the skyscrapers past the parking lot.
"Ragna, if I'm gonna be completely honest, I don't think you should even consider this power." Trish said, catching Ragna by surprise. Here she was listing the powers of Hell, each one with its own pros and cons, and yet this seventh one he shouldn't even know about? Well why shouldn't he? He was the Son of Sparda, whatever that means, and he should be able to handle anything.
"Oh come on Trish, how bad can this be-!"
"Darkness."
"Hmm?" Ragna hummed as Trish turned to Ragna.
"When a demon or a witch or a warlock uses Darkness, it is a physical force with a purple hue surrounding it. It is the overall antithesis to Light and Chaos and serves the fundamental balance of Creation. This however…..is nothing, this is the Emptiness of the Underworld, the Sin of Envy."
"Void."
"Void is not life, it's not even darkness…..it's nothing. It is a source of power so dangerous not many demons 'cept the King of the Underworld use it. Hell, your own father has no record history of using it because of its destructive use. It is so dangerous that even in its transformative Mode that doesn't even have a name because no demon ever uses this power, you're not safe. With the other powers you can pull back and actually master, but beside the Demon King, there is no recorded history of mastering this power because the Void. It doesn't just destroy your opponents, it completely obliterates them from existence where even the soul is completely erased, and prolonged exposure in this state will completely erase you from existence."
"I mean…..if the Demon King can, can't I?"
"Ragna, the King of the Underworld has an eon head start on you in mastering this power, and even then he is not invulnerable from it. Though it is unclear how he mastered it, if any even does know it is not public knowledge."
"Hmm…Alright, I'll take your word for it." He had no reason to doubt Trish, she was going out of her way to train him and if she didn't want him mastering it she would have just kept it a secret.
"Good. Ya know I am surprised you are really taking all this information in, you don't seem like the type to focus on what was basically a big old history lesson." Trish said, genuinely impressed by the hybrid son.
"Hey, I'm not some dumb meathead who can't understand difficult things, I love history and honestly this was WAY better than anything I've learned in the past few years in school." Ragna said. Despite what Redgrave Academy and those in it wanted to believe, he would gladly put in the work, after all he wasn't Straight A's he was still passing. He was no genius like Penny but he was smarter than people give him credit for…..that is, if he actually proved it to them.
"And….are you still up for this? No regrets?" Trish asked, secretly testing his resolve. The hybrid finally stood up and rubbed his chin before shrugging.
"I mean, is there really a point now? I'm already this far in and it's not like demons would give me a chance if I had one. Besides, I need to do this type of training if I wanna become a hero." Ragna answered.
"...And why do you wanna become a hero?" Trish asked, curious about his answer. She knew from the heroic comics and manga on his shelf that he revered heroes, why she cannot understand, but she waited for an answer. She watched Ragna open his mouth before leaving it open for a few seconds before closing it, tapping his chin and scratching his head and finally sighing.
"Uh….we should probably continue the training, we are working on limited time here." Ragna gestured to the cloak on his phone.
"Right, we should move onto the next part of training today: Controlling your strength." One moment Ragna was standing in the middle of the parking lot, now he was staring at a wall.
"Now punch that wall." Trish ordered from behind him.
"No problem." Ragna smirked as he pulled his fist back, throwing it and slamming into the wall.
"...OOOOOOWWWWWWWW!" Ragna exclaimed as his hand was bruised only to quickly heal itself, the pain was still there though.
"Heh, it doesn't work like that. At least not at first, but to give you an idea: Demon strength comes from emotion, mainly Wrath and Pride, however it also comes from drive. A drive to self indulge, to grow stronger, to even kill you and commit Sin." Trish explained.
"Wonderful." Ragna commented as he wiggled his fingers.
"Try finding your drive, then punch the wall." Ragna sighed before looking back at the wall, closing his eyes and focusing. He remembered his fight with Ancala, how he knocked the demon back with a punch, wondering what drove him to that strength. The will to fight? The will to survive?
Justice.
Penny. Gwen. Kyrie.
Cass. Leslie.
"RRRRRAAAAAAHHHHH!" Ragna roared as he slammed his fist into the wall, the force shaking several city blocks and knocking a hole into the wall. Ragna beamed in excitement as Trish walked up and patted his shoulder, smirking down at him.
"Not bad, we got a long way, but not bad kid. Now use that drive and try to catch me with your speed." Now Ragna found himself chasing after Trish who was simply skipping backwards away from him, and his feet moving faster than any human on Earth. They had ran and hopped all around the parking lot, up and down, etc. Ragna had never caught Trish, but now his speed had increased and Trish could've sworn she saw some arcs of lightning shoot out of his legs. Lightning was driven by lust, and looking down at her tits she wouldn't be surprised if those were his reason to truly catch her.
"Come on, get up, we're not done yet." Trish said, helping the hybrid back on his feet.
"Yeah, just uh….yeah." Ragna was gonna say something but when he looked up he was currently eye level in his hunched position with Trish's amazing tits. Both wonderful DD cup bosoms that were strained by a black corset.
"See something you?"
"Yeah, oh yeah I do." Ragna growled as he stood at full height, now staring right at Trish, who seemed to enjoy the attention.
"Good, give into Lust, indulging in Sin is what makes you stronger." Trish instructed.
"Oh, I am fully prepared to give into lust, I bet my Dad was the King of Lust, heh." Ragna chuckled as he ogled Trish's rack.
"Believe it or not, he was quite the looker in Inferno, many Succubi and even Incubus wanting a taste for the most powerful Devil. Yet the only one to capture his heart was your mother, Eva." Trish said, teasing Ragna with trailing her finger up his chest. She would be lying if she said Ragna wasn't hot, for a seventeen year old he took care of himself and he was quite the looker. While not ruggish he definitely had the Adonis Physique, which she found ironic considering who that was, with a flawless complexion void of blemishes or freckles. He definitely carried his looks from his father, although the raven hair still confused her since Sparda never had that color nor did Eva.
"Can I just say you have amazing tits that just really show your eyes."
"You don't have a filter when it comes to this sort of thing, do ya?" Trish asked not crossing her arms.
"I say it how I see it: If I see a beautiful girl, who I think all are, I'm gonna say what I think. People already think of me as a perv, and while it's not completely off, I just like women. Is that such a crime?" Ragna asked, holding his hands over the back of his head. He would never force himself on a woman, but he saw no harm in complimenting women with their body. They should be proud of their body, he was for his and theirs.
"So is that why you have three girlfriends? You can't pick a type?" Trish asked with a cocked eyebrow.
"Type? Meh, I never cared for type. I love women, regardless of type, for who they are. I guess I'm not picky?"
"That's because of your demon nature."
"Really?" Ragna asked.
"You know how you humans create such funny titles to describe your sexual orientation: Heterosexual, Homosexual, Bisexual, Pansexual-!"
"That one is just Bi, don't even bother listing it."
"Well for a demon they don't care: If it can fuck, it will be fucked." Trish stated as simply as can be.
"Huh…well I'm not into animals thank god so I must have some standards." Ragna argued.
"I'm not saying you don't, but you are perfectly and normally attracted to girls…..and a certain type of boy? Nothing wrong with that, it's in your nature." Trish teased, Ragna shrugging his shoulders as he walked past Trish.
"That's all neat and everything, and I would love nothing more than to have a sex ed class with ya Trish, we should continue training."
"Right, now drawing your sword." Ragna nodded, reaching for the sword he had yet to even use until this point. The silver blade shimmering in the light before Ragna held it at his side, checking himself in the reflection.
"So, how are we gonna do this? Since you don't have a blade, Trish."
"We'll worry about that in a second, for now I need to ask you a question Ragna: Are you ready to kill?" Ragna was taken by surprise by that question, unsure how to answer at first. Since in the hero world, there is a whole 'no kill' rule in both fiction and reality.
"I…..I…I don't know." Ragna said.
"Really? Cause you killed Ancala without hesitation."
"That….That was a moment of adrenaline and he was gonna kill me, and I don't know if I can kill, cause that would go against being a hero an-!"
"Ragna." Before Ragna could react, Trish had a hand on his shoulder, staring up into his eyes.
"Ragna, I am not asking you to kill every single person you fight. As a hero, you can do whatever you want: Put them behind bars, put them in a coma, whatever. However, when it comes to demons, I am sorry Ragna but you cannot hesitate with Demons. When it comes to you they cannot be reasoned, they cannot be stopped. They hate you down to the very core and will destroy everything you ever loved. You have to throw away some high ground if you wanna survive, if you want to go home and protect those you love." Trish said, taking a step back.
"Now. Come at me with all the intent to kill." Trish ordered, conjuring a bolt of lightning that began to take form. Ragna stared at the woman, sweat beading down his head as memories flashed in his mind: Screams, fire…..a woman calling his name. Then he thought of Penny, of Gwen, Kyrie, Cass, Auntie Leslie, and the whole city. Taking a deep breath Ragna's body was covered in a red aura, his eyes changing shape befo-
BEEP BEEP
"OH crap! Have we been training that long already?!" Ragna exclaimed, reaching for his phone seeing he had about forty minutes to get back home. It took about twenty minutes to reach the store from the cafe and twenty back.
"Um…Trish?" Ragna looked up at the woman with pleading eyes. While he wouldn't mind training more, he did have dinner to cook and after the last couple of days he didn't wanna worry Cass anymore…..though he had a gut feeling he was gonna be making her and the others more worried then ever.
"...Alright, get going, we'll continue this tomorrow." Trish relented. She saw no point in making him stay longer, he surprisingly started off very strong and exceeded her very low expectations. He may not be a born protege like the royal demons of Hell but when Ragna put his mind to something, especially when it offered beneficial rewards, he would not stop until he succeeds. He had a long way before he ever reached his father's power at Sparda's peak, but he was off to a great start.
"Great! Thanks Trish I'll see ya tomorrow!" With that Ragna quickly ran down the ramp and out of the sight, leaving Trish to her own thoughts. She stared out into the city below, watching the hybrid disappear through the crowd…..knowing she had to prepare him.
(The Marvelous Devil)
"Gotta get back! Gotta get back! Gotta get back!" Ragna exclaimed as he ran across rooftops towards the cafe. He had gotten some random ingredients that he could use to make an ideal meal he had in mind for tonight. Once he left the store he knew traffic would be difficult, and since he had super strength now why not use it to his advantage. Now he was hopping over buildings as fast as he could, a few minutes were left but by then he had made it back to the cafe before the usual dinner time. He landed in the alley and made sure no one had saw him, quickly running inside and up the stairs.
"Cass! Cass, sorry I'm nearly late. Traffic was crazy." Ragna lied, entering the main living space to see Cass gathering the ingredients they had in the fridge for him.
"What took you so long, Ragna, the store is only twenty minutes away." Cass asked, eyeing the raven hair teen, who chuckled nervously in response.
"Ah well, uh I went by the book store and….lost track of time." Ragna lied, hoping Cass would buy it. The older cougar stared up at her teen, before letting out a sigh and pulling on his arm towards the kitchen.
"Well so long as you are okay, that's all that matters, just try and be safe."
"I will…..I promise, Cass." Ragna did internally wince at that one, since now that he was gonna be a hero that meant he would be very much in danger.
"Good, now get to cooking, I'm starving for the Redgrave Special tonight." Cass laughed, only to stiffen as Ragna leaned down, kissing her. Sure they hug and she would kiss her cheek, but she didn't know why but everytime Ragna kissed her on the head or cheek made her chest tighten.
"You got it, Aunt Cass." Getting one good look at her ass as she walked away, he reminded himself that she only sees him as a nephew and nothing more. Plus he had three girlfriends and would never cheat on him…still, he wouln't mind making Cass happy.
And with that Ragna began cooking, Cass sitting down with Mochi as the teen went to work. He started by mixing sea salt, water, and olive oil into the wooden bowl of flour, mixing it up with a spoon and eventually kneading it with his hands until it was doughy. He set it aside and grabbed a knife, flicking an onion into the air and right on his knife before slicing it in half. He chopped the onion, with precision that took him years to finally master and with the help of Cass and Leslie, into chopped mince bits. He grabbed a fresh garlic and flipped it with his knife for fun, cutting the end of the vegetable and began cutting the garlic. Mochi rubbed at his feet, the hybrid so engrossed in his cooking he didn't say anything while Cass watched from the side.
He thought of his training a lot like cooking, it will take time, and maybe someday he will master this power and rival his own father. He began rapidly cutting the lettuce, mincing the pickles, and finally mixing the onions and pickles together. He poured a bit of the minced pickles and onions into a clean bowl, dipping some mayonnaise, Tomato Puree, and mustard. Once he did that he mixed some salt, pepper, and paprika into the bowl ending with pouring a bit of white wine vinegar into the bowl. He then began mixing all of the seasoning together, before moving on and sprinkling some flour onto the cutting board, placing the dough right on it and tearing off pieces and rolling them into balls. He took the roller and began while also turning the stove on the right temperature and placing a pan on it. Once it had reached the max temp he had flattened the rolls into flat tortillas, placing them right on top of the pan.
Once they were just right he switched and continued this pattern about a couple more times before he pulled out the beef mince he had bought. He sprinkled some Montreal steak seasoning on each beef before slapping the first onto the pan, the sizzling music to his ears. Once it was cooked he flipped it over and sprinkled some cheese he had cut earlier, doing this three more times before he was officially done. He cleaned up the dishes and gathered two plates with three tacos on each, sprinkling the leftover minced pickles and onions onto one two for him and one for Cass. He poured the mixed sauce he made onto two of his and into a small bowl for Cass before bringing the plates over as Cass got the telenovela ready for the two of them. Sure he loved hanging out with Penny and the girls, but moments like these with Cass, or Leslie, or even with May were also special to him. A few hours passed and Ragna had fallen asleep halfway through the show, Mochi laying on his lap as Cass turned the tv off and placed a blanket over Ragna.
"Good night, my big handsome chef."
"Mmmm…..Mochi….get off my lap." Ragna groaned, Cass giggled as she smiled down at the teen, brushing some hair out of his face. He was so handsome, he needed to be careful or he might end up being quite the heartbreaker. Oh she wished she was a few years younger, but it wouldn't be right. Sneaking in one peck on his lips she grabbed Mochi and placed the fat cat on his bed, leaving for her bedroom. She missed Mochi walking off his bed and back into the hybrid's bed, while Cass went into her room to…...relieve herself.
Ragna mumbled in his sleep, dreaming of the girls and many others he would love to have, unaware of the dark forces watching over him. Today was a good start, but it was the calm before the Storm.

Yes there is an actual book made by Greta Thunberg, and yes I don't think Amy Schumer is funny, bite me.
Achievement Unlocked: Training Begins Now (You are not ready)
And with that we conclude the next chapter in TMD's first volume and what was basically another exposition and worldbuilding chapter. At least worldbuilding in the power system for the Demon Realm. This chapter has been a LONG time coming in explaining the powers such as Inferno that I've shown since the Court of Sin story arc ending in ADJ. I had a whole chapter just like this dedicated to explaining the powers in ADJ, literally a chapter after the Gotham Sirens in ADJ Volume 2 (So like chapter six) where Etrigan/Blood would explain the power system almost like Trish did in this chapter. Because I have now canceled ADJ and focus all of my work on TMD I knew I would have to focus on building this power, and considering this is basically Ragna's origin volume why not introduce the Demonic Power System/Skill Tree that our dear Son of Sparda will have to attain and master these powers if he will ever face the Forces of Hell. All of the Seven Deadly Powers of Hell have been planned out, tweaked, and built upon since the beginning of ADJ...or at least after chapter 3 in Volume 1 lol.
As I've explained each of the Seven Forces of Hell are based on the Seven Deadly Sins: Inferno/Wrath, Lightning/Lust, Beast/Pride, Blood/Avarice, Ice/Sloth, Necromancy/Gluttony, and Void...well you can already guess the last one. The way I listed them just now is the difficulty of each Force, with Inferno being the easiest to attain to Void being downright impossible and ABSOLUTELY should be avoided. You're probably wondering what the difference between Darkness and the Void is, if the explanation I had didn't make sense. Essentially Darkness is part of the Great Balance between Light and Chaos. It serves a purpose, and from a physical description it goes from dark with a purple hue around it to even just slimy black (Like the Nightmare Demon in the DMC series) while Void is...Nothingness. I have more on this but I'm gonna be saving that for later, heck there is still a lot of the powers I've yet to show such as what is Indura? El Diablo? Don't wanna show the entire iceberg and spoil the fun. Necromancy was the hardest since originally it was gonna be all about undead zombies/skeletons but I wanted to try something new. While it is similar it goes with the idea of when Dante kills demons and basically uses their souls to make a new weapon. One half of that soul becomes a Devil Arm, while the other fuses with the winner's soul not only becoming stronger but also now part of their will so if they had Necromancy they could form a spectral form of the defeated devil to fight beside them. They sort of have their free will (Even in DMC it is said the Devil arms can talk to Dante, Cerberus talking to him in the Prequel book for DMC5) but only to speak they must serve the user.
Like I wrote in the chapter, Gluttony is with Necromancy and Blood is with Avarice. Yeah it sort of doesn't make sense but I like the way I explained it...but if I'm being forty percent honest I had no idea where to put Necromancy and I felt like Blood wouldn't work with Gluttony so the two got the short end of the stick. With each power they also come with Modes, I've explained this before but think of Modes as like Kaio-Ken: It's not a full on transformation like Devil Trigger but it enhances the user with certain abilities. Also Necroplasm is from Spawn and I changed the idea of it cause of well Necromancy, it is a bit different than the Spawn Comics but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. We'll explore and delve into these powers individually in the first couple of volumes but I should mention that a few he won't be getting anytime soon, sometime after the first act of the first saga (After Volume 10) cause of...reasons that require spoilers and I'm not doing that. Of course you can't have such amazing powers and as I've explained in the story these powers are like a double edge sword, you can't have your cake and eat it too. I love the idea of a power so grand it could kill you, but without you don't really stand much chance against higher up demons unless you can awaken Devil Trigger. Of course I didn't go into Devil Trigger cause I'm saving that for a later chapter. This first volume is entirely focused on both worldbuilding and setting up the stakes for the first act in the first Saga: Birth of a Hero. I also changed the design of Ragna's sword, it is now based on the DMC reboot's Rebellion design, and no it's not Rebellion I just used the simple design for story reasons. The 'no killing' rule is gonna be greatly explored, it's morality and how the heroes should handle it. What are your guys thoughts on it?
I won't be doing entire chapters worth of training but basically after (online) school Ragna will be training and immediately afterwards he's gonna be doing hero work (Which leads into next chapter) so a lot of chapters won't feature training but he IS training. Another thing I want to talk is about Ragna's intelligence, a lot of the last arc was about Ragna's future and how it seemed Ragna was wasting his school life away. I never once said that Ragna was dumb, it's just that he was going through something. He is no super smart genius like Penny but I didn't want Ragna to be some dumb shonen protagonist (Not hating, I love them) so I did base his skills off of mine: I am pretty good at Math, History I love, I suck at Science, etc. It's more akin to Gohan but without the constant regression of no training if that helps simplify it, and street smarts XD. But one thing I absolutely loved to do in school was cook, and it's how I loved just making food in general and I wanted Ragna to be a master (Of sorts) at it. The meal he made at the end is an actual meal made by a youtube named 'Men of the Pot' and it was a Taco Burger vid, I like watching those vids and trying to copy his similar cooking style.
The last thing I wanted to talk about is the discontinuation of ADJ. I love ADJ and it will always have a special place in my heart (Maybe someday I'll recontinue it) but with TMD I realized I had more potential and even a better start than ADJ. So you are probably wondering how this works, well to simplify: Everything I had planned for ADJ will now be fused into TMD: The Majin, the Paladins, etc. Will I be old storylines now that DC is a part of this...Maybe. How will this work on Worldbuilding? Well heroes already exist and I've barely begun to explore them, and you'll see soon enough. For chapters originally every volume I had so far only had twenty chapters, now it's an additional ten for extra content so now thirty (Maybe one or two more) chapters in each volume. After Volume 10 I'll go back to twenty since I only have ten volumes done so far on my timeline, and most of the specials too. Hmm, I think that is about it, and I'll will talk about a few more things outside of the story now.
Still hate the Email Opt in and wish it was erased from the Servers and would never see the light of day. Fuck you FF for doing this.
The One Piece Wano arc is basically over, and G5 Luffy vs Kaido/Zoro vs King were the most goated fights in the series...to bad it took over a thousand episodes to see it. Yes I will never stop ripping on the series for that. I love One Piece but fuck me...guess looking at what I have planned I shouldn't be completely talking shit LOL. Again all fun and games, love the series.
Man the Immortal Thor comic is starting off good...can't say the same for Fall of X. Not gonna say anything until it is officially over but JESUS, I could just not give a fuck. Same for Wonder Woman...Fucken Sovereign, 'oh America bad, patriarchy evil' how original am I right folks. Then again I stopped reading DC Comics after Lazarus Planet, well actually I didn't even read anything before that besides Dark Crisis. Gotham War is another cringe fest made by Tini Howard and Chip Zdarsky with the WORST characterization I have ever seen. It went to the point where I liked Damien Wayne. Fucken Damien Wayne, I HATE Damien. I DO NOT LIKE him, like at all but this fucken storyline has butchered so many characters I was actually rooting for him. These are dark times indeed.
Fuck Harley Quinn, the show wasn't funny the first season, it was never funny in the last season no one can convince me otherwise.
Did I tell you guys that I've beaten Sekiro? I told you guys in the past I've never beaten it cause I rage quitted at the Guardian Ape and sold the PS4 disc. I rebought it for the Xbox (My main console) and when I finally played through it I...I did it. I fucken beat the game, I beat the Guardian Ape in ONE TRY. I beat every single boss from the Headless, to the Dragon, and the Sword Saint himself. God I love these games.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex...Just let that sink in...Yeah, still bad.
I hope to get these chapters out sooner, I was trying to make it six thousands words at max but...I got carried away lol.
What are your guys favorite comics in recent year: For DC it's Jurassic League, and for Marvel it is either Excalibur or Thor. Yes I still have a soft spot for Betsy Braddock and Meggan sue me. Tini Howard isn't good at all but I love the art so what can ya do? Man they really fucked Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain series. Literally five issues lol. Shockers that Annihilation, the evil Cosmic Deity that controlled Apocalypse's wife in the X of Sword storyline (A terrible storyline with the worst marketing in a fucking title) ended up controlling her again but through a staff...almost like that was bound to happen if ya kept the FUCKEN THING AROUND!
Alright, I think that is about it. I hope everyone loved the chapter and I'll try and get the next one as soon as I can. Until then, I'm open for suggestions on harem/story ideas/etc and review it helps me wanna write more and it helps to hear others thoughts on the chapter.
