"Where am I," he growled, leaning hard against the door as he glared at the small, mousey-looking woman. He could barely stand or talk, his body trembling under its own weight. He noticed her robe and backed away. "Is this, like, some freaky sex dungeon or something?"

Seras looked appalled and confused. "What? No! How could you think something like- I save you!"

Jan's body ached terribly, and it felt like his muscles had been lit on fire. His ass and thighs were sore and bruised as hell, and the wounds covering his torso were throbbing mad. His knees quickly buckled underneath him, and he fell to the floor, panting hard. He was already exerting energy he didn't have to even stay awake- there was no way in hell he'd have been able to keep it up for long.

A comforting hand was placed on his shoulder, which was bare and bleeding, but he recoiled and swatted it away with a hiss. She backed away in shock, her face turning red.

"Don't you fucking touch me, lady," he said acidly, "I don't know what you're trying to pull, but back off!"

"I… I don't understand… You're bleeding," she suddenly cried out. He looked down at himself; she was right. Maybe he'd gotten too excited or jumped around too much, but his wounds had opened up once again. A slow, steady stream of blood spilled onto the floor. "I can help- just hold still."

He shook his head and scrambled backward as she knelt before him. She made to grasp his arm, and he yanked away again. He made a weak attempt at kicking her. "I said don't touch me!"

"Stop it," Seras growled offensively, crawling toward him. "You'll die if you keep moving like that!"

He kept crawling back, agitating his wounds the more he moved. "Leave me alone," he yelled.

Frustrated, she lunged toward him, knocking him over and pinning him to the floor. She held his arm firmly against the floor and straddled his legs. Jan was outmatched purely because he'd been starved for so long. Still, he resisted, at least as much as he could. He appeared more like a cornered animal than a proper creature of the night.

"Why can't you just let me help you?"

Jan turned his head away from her. His heart would jump out of his chest at this rate, or maybe he'd just die from blood loss. His head already felt so light, and was it just him, or was the room spinning out of control? Black spots were dancing around his eyes.

"Why can't you just let me die, "he said so softly, almost in a whisper, "I… I don't want this… not again."

"I- I don't understand… What do you…" She trailed off, noticing the bite marks on his neck. She swallowed hard. "What in the world…"

He couldn't hear her anymore. A deafening ring drowned her out. Jan's head lulled to the side, and he muttered something he couldn't quite understand. It didn't matter anyway; he was dying fast. Funny, he couldn't see the light; there was nothing but darkness waiting for him.
