I was so excited, I walked through the halls of the great Titanic, it was the dreamboat that everyone wanted to go on these days. How amazing was it to be on the first of many splendid journeys? I skipped through the halls, humming a song as I went, I looked closely at everything in my sight. I looked at the beautifully carved patterns on the walls of the Titanic. This boat was fantastic, no wonder why everyone wanted to get on. I met a little girl named Emily who was 3 years younger than me last night and we agreed to meet each other everyday, we actually became really good friends. I was on my way now.
I met her in the halls and we decided to go read for some time. Time was passing quickly, it was almost midnight now, but I couldn't sleep, I wanted to see every inch of this ship! I kept myself awake by reading, Emily had decided to rest and she was now sleeping peacefully beside me. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the clock: 11:30. Creek... I strained my ears as I heard something strange. Creek... it came again. Screech... was what I heard next. I don't know how long I sat there, but I just sat, listening. When I looked up at the clock again, it read 2:10. Creek...Crash! I jumped up, racing out of the door, what happened? I had to find out! But when I got out, a huge wave hit me. I realized with a joilt: the Titanic was going to sink! I raced back into the room, "Emily! Emily! Get up! Get up! Something is happening! Get up!" I screeched, desperately trying to get Emily out of the boat. When we became friends, we promised that we would sacrifice whatever we had to save each other. I raced to the nearest exit and ran out, Emily close behind me. I was in the front of the ship when they lowered the 20 lifeboats, I was lucky enough to hop into one but Emily wasn't. I got up and jumped back onto the sinking ship. Emily stared at me, her eyes filled with utter horror. "What are you doing?" she asked with a gulp. "Get on the boat," I told her. She shook her head slightly, tears rolling down her cheeks like a waterfall. "No, if we die we die together." She sobbed. I looked behind me, the Titanic had broken into 2 and was about to sink completely. "Get on the lifeboat! You have to survive!" I whispered softly in her ear. She shook her head fiercely. "No!" she screamed. Water now pooled our feet. Everyone on the lifeboats stared at us but no one came off the boat to help us. "Are you coming or not!" A lady asked impatiently. I shook my head. "No, but she is." I shoved Emily into the boat. "You promised me! You promised that we would get off this boat together and create the life we both dreamed about all our lives! Now, you're dying here?" Emily screamed. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. She was right, I had promised. I felt a rush of guilt, but I had no more time, the Titanic had almost completely sunk. "Go Emily, create the life you envisioned, the life we had envisioned," I whispered, trying to sound strong.
The lifeboats took off, and Emily stared at me with fear and horror in her eyes. "I'll never forget you!" She screeched from the lifeboat. "I'll never forget you either!" I called, I heard sobs and whispers of amusement from the 20 lifeboats. I kept watching, straining to keep myself above the water. I thought about Emily and I knew that she would now be safe on the lifeboat. There will be many people who will look after her, I decided. That thought made my heart feel lighter. Emily, know that I will always look after you. That was my last thought before my world blacked out forever.
