GenMui fanfic, Kimetsu Academy au. (Smart Genya, Dumb Mui)

It's been a year since my older brother, Sanemi, moved schools to become a math teacher at the high school, Kimetsu Academy. And of course, I had to go with him. I graduated in two years. and I found out that a new student was going to join our school after looking through Sanemi's things. I hadn't expected it, but the new student came the very next day.

\~Time skip to current time\~

"Alright class, today we have a new student." Declared Mr. Shinazugawa, the math professor. "Please come in now." He said it in an agitated tone.

Then, a short boy with long black hair that faded to turquoise entered the classroom quietly. He had the classic uniform and sandals on. I have to admit, he was quite cute in a way, but I couldn't focus on that as he looked a bit annoying. And the worst part was that he sat next to me in three classes. It was very annoying. Anyway, as we were going through the lesson, Mr. Shinazugawa paused and erased the board. We all looked very confused. Was he letting us have a break?

"Today we are going to be doing a partnered project for the rest of January." Sanemi declared it with his usual harsh tone. "I will now announce the partner pairs everyone has."

All I could do was hope that there wouldn't be enough people for me to have to participate in the project or work alone. I didn't really care, though. All I wanted was to not have the annoying kids as my partner, and I'd be okay with it.

"C/N and Tanjiro Kamado, C/N and Zenitsu Agatsuma, C/N and Inoskue Hashibira, ━━ and ━━, and last but not least, Genya and Muichiro Tokito."

I was dumbfounded; my older brother could tell by the expression on my face that I didn't like him, but yet, he still had us as partners.

Mr. Shinazugawa chuckled a bit before speaking again. "Alright guys, class is ending early so you can get a head start on your end-of-year project."

I wasn't that angry; Muichiro seemed like a nice guy; I just preferred to work alone. That's all. *Right...?* I thought to myself before grabbing my stuff and bringing it to my locker. I was minding my own business by putting all of my text books away to study over the weekend in the hope Muichiro would forget to show up at his house. But when I was about to lock my almost empty locker, the short boy with long hair walked up to me.

Muichiro tapped my shoulder to get my attention. "Hello," Muichiro said softly.

"What?" I said it angrily but calmed down a bit when my stomach gave me this weird feeling.

It's just that his voice was so soft and cute... Genya apologized briefly and excused himself to avoid talking to him, quickly walking away from the issue. I left the school and began to walk home. And my mind was rushing with thoughts and feelings.

"What happen? Why did it happen? Why does he make me feel like that?" My mind was rushing with thoughts. I thought I was going to pass out from the dizziness I felt.

Sanemi wouldn't be home for a while, so I had to think about why it happened. I thought about asking Tanjiro for help because his family's bakery was a few blocks away and I could walk there, but I decided to just go home instead and talk to my older brother about it. After about eight minutes of walking, I found myself standing in front of the door, and Sanemi was already inside.

"Huh? Maybe he just got off work early. Whatever though." I thought to myself with confusion in my expression. "Whatever though, it's not my problem anyway."

I walked into the house and sat my backpack down to see Muichiro and Sanemi sitting at the table. Nemi was probably catching him up on what we'd done for half of the semester. But it didn't matter to me right now. All I wanted to do was finish my homework and study to get over the day with the test on Monday. I was grabbing my homework from the bag, trying not to disturb him, as it was important he understood what they were learning.

"Genya, come over here and help Muichiro understand what we're learning while I grade some papers, okay?" Sanemi said, with a hint of hope that Genya wouldn't be cold to the new student and help him understand better.

Muichiro glanced over at Genya with a soft and cute expressionless face and a sip of hope that he would agree, as he had heard rumors about how angry Genya could get over tiny things that normal people didn't get upset over.

"Okay, fine, I will help him." Genya said it hesitantly with a pissed expression. I honestly have a bit of a soft spot for him. I don't know why though...

I sat down next to Muichiro and felt my stomach turn as I felt Muichiro's hot breath on his skin. I tried to ignore it, but it wasn't working. It felt like someone was repeatedly making vibrations in my stomach.

"Why am I so nice to you?" I accidentally said it out loud, looking a bit confused and not having realized it until Sanemi laughed, as he knew Genya had a crush on Muichiro now. Muichiro turned beet red.

"what happen?" I asked, sounding confused about why they were laughing.

"Muichiro was just telling me about how he had a liking for you!" Sanemi declared, sounding like he was going to wet himself from how hard he was laughing.

It was humiliating for me to find out my crush liked me back. I was surprised but also glad. I had never felt this way before, and it was weird, but I didn't care. All I cared about was that Muichiro liked me back.

Haha, thank you to everyone who decides to read this. It's my first ever fanfic and I think I got everything pretty good. :smile: Also, I hope this doesn't go against any rules in the Kemitsu community (reddit ver.). (Let me know if you want an adult GenMui NSFW one, lol.)
