Sirius' all-time favourite hobby was moongazing, or well, Moony-gazing.
Remus (Sirius' boyfriend) had his knees tucked under him. His right hand was holding open a book and his left hand was flapping, as it usually did when he was excited.
It was currently late on a weekday in the Gryffindor common room, and while Remus was usually the first one to go to sleep, this new book kept him up. They had the common room all to themselves, which really was the best way it could be. Remus always put up an act of sorts in front of other people, but he had gotten comfortable enough with Sirius, that it had started to go away.
During these times when they were alone, Remus would sometimes be very quiet and his talk would be monotone, but there was a certain calm over him because he didn't act extroverted and social as people often expected. Other times when they were alone, Remus would get excited, and he would be loud and expressive which was usually deemed too much.
But not for Sirius, of course. Every single part of Remus was incredible in its very own way.
A smile was steadily growing across Remus' face until he finally sank onto the couch and hid his face between the pages of the book.
"Good?" Sirius asked.
Remus' face was still buried in the book when he groaned. "So good," he announced.
He sat up straight and put the bookmark on the current page before hugging the book tightly against his chest. "I love this book, so so much."
"So we've forgiven the whole betrayal thing?"
Remus frowned and his nose scrunched. "It turns out it was the only way to save Milio, but we're still working towards forgiveness." He nodded solemnly, and Sirius had to work very hard not to burst of joy from the cuteness in front of him.
"Of course. But then what are we smiling at now?"
The smile returned to Remus' face at once, he bounced where he sat and began flapping both his hands this time. "They went flying together! And that whole chapter is just so beautifully written, it's such a beautiful depiction of queer love, and I just–"
Remus picked up the book again and held it up in front of Sirius. "I love this book so much. It's my new favourite." He hugged the book against his chest again, but this time he laid down on the couch, head resting on Sirius' legs.
"You say that almost every time you finish a book," he pointed out. Sirius rested his hand on Remus' head. He would usually run his hands through Remus' hair, but Remus preferred it this way.
"But this one is going to be impossible to beat!"
Sirius hummed in agreement. As long as he got to gaze at his Moony reading books, he'd be happy.
