Just a short piece I wrote as a writing exercise. Thought that I might as well post it.
"Goddammit."
Izuku whimpered as he felt a pair of hands wrap a thick bandage around his shattered and bloody arm. The cave made of collapsed rubble and twisted steel around them shuddered and shifted, sounding something like an ocean made of stones as it bent under the weight of the shattered building resting above them.
It had all happened so fast. One second he had been battling a villain in the middle of the street, the next that same street had come crashing down onto them, as had the nearby buildings. Dust and soot covered his body and made his surroundings as foggy as his mind and body.
Everything hurt.
The villain above him swore again as she attached a bit of splintered wood to his arm to act as a cast, and then lifted his head up to cover his bleeding head in bandages. She sighed in exhaustion as twin trails of blood left her nose and forehead. She had spat out a tooth earlier.
"...There," she sighed as she leant back, admiring her handiwork as Izuku, constantly drifting in and out of consciousness, laid wrapped in bandages and makeshift supports, "That should keep you... alive, I guess."
Izuku's eyes became heavy once more.
"Why are you... helping me?"
The villain that he had been fighting looked at him.
"You're a... villain."
The blood at her side began to pool onto the ground.
"I suppose I am."
By the time he had been recovered by the heroes, the villain was long since dead.
