??? POV: I ran as hard as I could. I had to get there in time, before they get there. There's no way that family can fight them.

I quickly raced across the rooftops and landed on the house. The window was broken and I used it to enter.

Immediately a fist came right at my face, while it was on fire. I ducked and nailed them in the stomach. They groaned and kicked me away. But that barely did anything, so I was up right away. However, there was a second guy right there, and he was fast. I barely managed to get out of the way. The fire fist guy tried again to hit me, but I already had a counter. I grabbed his fist, distinguishing his flame, and threw him through the window.. The speedster got nervous after that, but he still came after me. I knocked out his legs and he got to join his friends.

I then ran into the living room, and realized that I was too late. A green-haired woman laid on the ground, covered in bruises. While a blonde and brown spiky haired couple were together on the couch.

Damn it.

I closed their eyes and sent them away into white petals. I'm sorry that I couldn't save you.

I was about to leave when I started to hear crying from another room. I quietly checked it out. It sounded like it was coming from the backroom. It was just another bedroom that was stripped clean of everything, and the crying was coming from the bathroom.

I slowly opened the door and had to catch a roll of toilet paper coming at me.

"Go away!" It sounded like a little boy.

Two young kids were hiding in here. The one who threw the roll had very spiky blonde hair and an angry look on his tear-stained face. The other boy had curly green hair and was shaking in the corner. Right behind the other boy. He was currently sobbing. He must have been the one that I heard.

"Go away!" the boy said again. Grabbing some toothpaste now.

They must have been their children. How did they manage to stay hidden from them?

Knowing they must be terrified, I go down on one knee and say, "No need to be afraid."

"I'm not!" He answered, but it was clear on his face.

The green-haired boy slightly looked up and whispered, "You're not one of them?"

"No, I'm not." I answered, holding out my hand.

The boy stood up, but neither of them moved beside that.

But then they both started to tear up and ran to me sobbing. It surprised me at first, but I quickly hugged them as they cried.

They cried so hard that they fell asleep in my arms. I couldn't just leave them here, not when I don't know if someone will be able to take care of them. I lift them up.

I may not have been able to save the parents, but the least I could do is take care of their children.
