Title: Innocence of Youth

Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars. Also, this completely meant to be humor/fluff and not at all meant to be taken seriously.

Everyone was silent as the sparkly green smoke cleared. Sabine's eyes went wide. Shin was...a child?! It was undeniably her. Short blonde hair, padawan braid, even her clothes were the same. "You turned my apprentice into a child," Baylan said, turning to Morgan, shock evident in his voice.

"She already was a child," Morgan replied with a humph, "I simply brought her down to size."

"Well can you turn her back?" Baylan demanded.

"Of course I can!" Morgan snapped back. Sabine had been staring at Shin the entire time the other two were arguing, and had watched as the little girl scampered away.

"I hate to interrupt," Sabine said, "But I think you need to catch her first." Morgan and Baylan looked up just in time to see the door sliding closed.

"Do something!" Baylan said, turning to Morgan.

The witch almost looked amused, "She's your apprentice, it's not my responsibility to catch her," she said, then she turned to Sabine, "You should at least make yourself useful, since we're letting you live, help him catch her." Baylan stormed out and Sabine followed.

"Well, there's only so many places she can go," Sabine said, "You go that way, I'll go this way?"

"If you hurt her-"

"I won't, she's just a kid right now."

"Very well," Baylan said, heading off down the hallway. Sabine went the opposite direction. It couldn't be to hard to find one runaway kid, could it?

Apparently, it could be. Sabine did come close at one point. She had been about to catch Shin, but the girl had actually hissed at her and then Force pushed her into the wall before running away. "Wow," Sabine said, "I just got Force pushed by a...six year old? That is just humiliating." She met up with Baylan in one of the hallways.

"Did you find her?" he asked, a tinge of worry and impatience in his voice.

"I got close, but she evaded me."

"She always has been formidable." Baylan said, looking almost proud.

"It would've been a bit easier if I wasn't still in binders," Sabine said. She thought for a few moments, then snapped her fingers. Of course! "Where do you guys keep your rations?"

"In the supply room, why?"

Sabine smirked, "There are two things kids love, causing trouble...and eating snacks."

They made their way to the supply room. "Maybe you should go in," Sabine said, "She trusts you." Baylan made his way in cautiously, Sabine watching from the door. Shin was curled up in a corner, a ration bar in hand and crumbs on her tunic, sound asleep. She looked so...peaceful and innocent. It was a little unnerving. Baylan scooped her up with surprising gentleness, the ration bar falling out of her hand as he did so. Shin, though still sleeping, snuggled against his chest.

Baylan stared at her for a moment, then looked at Sabine, "You will not breath a word of this to anyone."

"Not a word," Sabine said, it wasn't as though anyone would believe her anyway. She barely believed it herself.

"I see you managed to find her," Morgan said when they returned, "You may want to put her down and step away." Baylan set the sleeping child on the floor, although a bit reluctantly, and stepped back. Morgan held out her hands and began to speak an incantation in some other language. Green smoke once again enveloped Shin, and when it cleared, she was back to normal.

She groaned and sat up, "What happened?" she murmured, "And why are there crumbs on my tunic?" Baylan helped her to her feet.

"Do you remember what happened?" Morgan asked.

"Should I?" Shin replied, fixing Morgan with a wary look.

Baylan intervened, "Perhaps we should go rest in our quarters," he said, guiding her out. Two droids grabbed Sabine and hauled her out as well, taking her to a holding cell.

Morgan sighed, "I thought they'd never leave."

"Master," Shin said once they had entered their small shared quarters, "What happened?"

"The hyperspace jump was...a lot," Baylan said, deciding that it was probably better if Shin didn't know what really happened. Shin simply hummed in response, settling in on her bunk. She couldn't remember a thing, but Baylan would never forget.

A/N: Yeah, completely ridiculous and pointless. But I wanted to write something, and this is what came to mind. Suggestions are welcome but please keep them in the K or K plus rating. I apologize for any grammar mistakes. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
