Going undercover as a married couple had a certain appeal, Ianto had to admit, if only to himself. Not that he wanted this kind of domesticity in his life, even with the man he loved. Torchwood and domesticity were a bit like oil and water, but to pretend, even just for a little while… It could be fun.
The house was certainly gorgeous, with tidy gardens front and rear, so different from his flat and the cramped bunker beneath Jack's office. The furniture was all high-end, only fitting for such an exclusive neighbourhood, and the kitchen was a dream. It would be good to have enough time to cook a proper dinner every day, instead of relying on takeaway and the occasional restaurant meal.
It wasn't all perfect though. The main downside of the whole situation was that Jack still went to work every day, while Ianto was stuck at home being the house husband. When Jack was home, it was something close to domestic bliss, or as close as they'd ever get, but when Jack was at the Hub…
"Great. I get this glorious undercover assignment and all I do is clean and provide food, just like at work."
