Chapter 15-The Start of a plan
Rick's P.O.V
Everybody stood by the gate looking at Rick. "Do you know where they are?" Rick asks Sasha who nods. "Alright, make sure our weapons are loaded, we'll form a plan and then we'll go after Oliver and we'll kill them. Glenn, Daryl, why don't you two take Morales and…" Rick trails off as he looks at Eastman.
"Eastman," Eastman says.
"Take them to one of the empty houses, give Morgan and I a minute," Rick says to Daryl and Glenn who nod as they lead Morales and Eastman away with the others and Rick looks at Morgan. "You look better."
"I am, better," Morgan says. "You seem different as well."
"I am, we've been through a lot, Morgan. We've lost people, good people. I don't take chances anymore. I'm not taking a chance with these people. With Oliver's life, I'll kill them all."
"You don't need to kill them, Rick. There is another way, there has to be," Morgan says. "They don't need to die."
"They do, you don't have to help, but they have to die," Rick says.
"They have prisoners there, good people who haven't done anything wrong. Do they derserve to die?" Morgan asks him.
"I'll do what I can to save them but Oliver is one of us, he's family, I have to get him out," Rick tells him. "We'll try to save them, but they might die in the crossfire. I wish it wasn't that way but Colt and his people, they threaten everything we are building here. They want to kill us, kill my son and daughter and I won't let that happen," Rick tells him. "Like I said, you can stay here but we're going to kill them," Rick says. "I'll take you to your house," Rick tells him and Morgan nods as he follows him.
Oliver's P.O.V
Oliver sat at the table. He looked at the door as it opened and Colt walked in. "You want another finger?" Oliver asks.
"Nope," Colt says as he sets a tray of food down on the table and sits across from Oliver. "Eat, you'll need your strength," Oliver grabs the tray and begins to eat. "I bet you're wondering, how did I become like this?"
"Nope, I am wondering how I am going to kill you," Oliver says and Colt smirks. "But if you want to tell me a story, go for it."
"What did you do before the turn Oliver."
"I a high school history teacher, second year," Oliver tells him.
"I was a therapist," Colt says. "Surprising right. Do you know what I learned doing that job?"
"That you're terrible at listening to people," Oliver answers.
"No, I learned that most people are weak. The people I talked to every day were weak, and they always needed something to make them feel better. I wanted to blow my brains out after a while, they were annoying the shit out of me. Then the world ended. The first thing I did was go to my job and into my office and I found a file. This man, he was having problems with his marriage and his kids. So, I went to his house to find his family packing, getting ready to leave to some military safety zone. I shot him in the stomach. I made him watch as I slit his wife's throat and put two bullets between his kids eyes. Then I shot him in the heart. It felt amazing, so when I made this place, I made sure only the strong were threated well and the weak, they would work until they became strong or died. You Oliver, you are strong, but you are held back by the people you love, you need to let them go and you never feel better," Colt says.
"You're insane," Oliver says. "All that story did was give me four more reasons to kill you."
"It doesn't matter how many reasons you have, Oliver. You'll never kill me," Colt says. "Enjoy you food," He says before he stands up and leaves the room.
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl and Glenn sat at a table as Morales sat across from him. "When I left the quarry camp, I never thought I would see you again," Morales says as he looks at Daryl. "I figured you'd leave."
"I thought about it. I'm glad I didn't," Daryl says. "What happened?"
"We were about halfway to Birmingham. We had stopped for some supplies and I went inside a house while Eliza looked through some cars with the kids. I heard a scream and I came outside a herd had shown up. They tried to get to me but the walkers cut them off. Came from behind the house and I listened as they were tourn apart. I was alone for a while and I found Eastman. He helped me find myself again. He saved me. What about you guys? Jacqui, Lori, T-dog, Dale, Sophia, Andrea, Merle."
"Dead," Glenn answers. "Jacqui died the day after we left you, Lori died giving birth to Judith, T-dog died saving Carol. Dale got attacked by a walker and his stomach got tourn open. Daryl put him down. We lost Sophia on a highway, and we never found her and we found Merle, he died saving us and Andrea got bit. Jim didn't make it to the CDC."
"I see a ring on your finger," Morales says as he looked at Glenn. "You're married? You meet her after?"
"Yeah, her name is Maggie. Daryl is dating her sister."
"That just started," Daryl says and Morales chuckles.
"It's really good to see you guys," Morales says. "I was hoping I would find you someday."
"You're with us now and that's all that matters," Glenn says. "I gotta ask you a question. Morgan, is he okay, we saw his apartment, the writing and he attacked Rick last time he saw him."
"Morgan has been through some hard times but he is doing better. Eastman helped him as well."
"How?" Daryl asks.
"He showed us something a way to live, gave us purpose, control over ourselves, peace of mind. He showed us that all life is precious," Morales says and Daryl scoffs. "You don't believe that."
"Hell no. These assholes that have Oliver, their lives aren't precious. They're trying to kill us and they are doing worse to the people they keep in cages. The world will be better off with them dead."
"There are more walkers than there are people," Morales says.
"Walkers we can deal with, people are more dangerous," Glenn says. "I don't like it either, but Daryl is right, we have to fight them to keep our people safe. We have to survive and after we survive, we can live."
Morales nods as Morgan and Rick walk in. "We'll leave you guys to get settled," Daryl says as they leave the house.
"They won't be any help in this fight," Rick says.
"We know," Glenn says as they walk down the stairs. "Do you have a plan?"
"I'm working on one," Rick tells him. "This fight isn't going to be easy, he probably has more people that us."
"He has the workers," Glenn says. "What if we can get in during the night and get them out, give them guns, it will even the playing field, we hit them from inside and from the outside."
"It could work," Rick says. "We need something to go in there."
"I can do it," Glenn says. "I'm fast on my feet, have Sasha near me with her rifle, they won't see us coming."
"You ain't doing it alone, I'll go with you," Daryl tells Glenn who nods.
"It's getting late, we aren't doing anymore tonight," Rick tells them. "We're all tired, we need to get some sleep, Colt won't touch Oliver for two days, we'll hit their camp tomorrow," Rick tells the two men who nod. "Rest, we'll make a plan tomorrow."
Abraham's P.O.V
Abraham walked into his house and looked at Rosita as she sat at the table. "You have watch tonight?" Abraham asks his girlfriend who nods.
"Yeah, I have first watch with Lee," Rosita tells him. "You've been distant since we got here Abraham."
"We've been busy," Abraham says as he sets his rifle down and sits down across from Rosita. "Building up this places defenses and making it livable. I'll been helping Rick, Daryl, Shane and Glenn."
Rosita nods as she stands up. She walks towards the door and stops. "Don't lead me on, Abraham. If this isn't what you want anymore, tell me," She says before she leaves the house leaving the large man sitting alone.
Shane's P.O.V
Shane walked outside of his house and looked at Blake as she sat on the steps. "You worried about Oliver?" Shane asks.
"Aren't you?" Blake asks.
"Of course I am, he's my brother. But he is also one of the toughest sons of bitches I know. He'll be fine until we get him back. How do you feel about your Mom being pregnant?"
"I'm excited to have a sibling," Blake says. "But I'm also worried about having a baby in this world."
"Judith was born in this world, she is doing okay," Shane replies.
"But Lori wasn't okay," Blake says and Shane nods.
"You're worried about your Mom."
"We don't have a doctor, Dad. Mom is the only doctor and she won't be able to do it by herself. Beth told me that her Dad taught Carol some things but she won't be able to do it herself either. We need a doctor," Blake says .
"We'll figure it out," Shane tells her as he lays his hand on her shoulder. "Your Mom is going to be fine, your brother or sister is going to be okay, we're all going to be okay, we'll keep pushing like we always do. We had plenty of the problems when it was just us on the road and we're okay and now we have an entire group. We're going to be okay, Blake."
"I hope so," Blake says.
"We will be. Trust me."
Maggie's P.O.V
Maggie takes her boots off and looks at Glenn as he walks into their room. "You guys figure out a plan?" Maggie asks her husband.
"We're working on one," Glenn says. "We'll figure it out tomorrow morning," He tells her as he sits down beside her. "We really need to decorate this room."
"I'll find us a camera," Maggie says with a smirk. "There is something I need to tell you."
Glenn turns to face her. "What is it?"
"I'm pregnant," Maggie says.
"Are you sure?" Glenn asks Maggie who nods as she reaches into her pocket and removes a pregnancy test. Glenn takes it and grins. "I'm going to be a Dad."
"You're going to be a Dad," Maggie says with a grin as she takes his hand. "We're going to be parents."
