Summary: Kat was shot multiple times by a needler, fortunately, it missed and hit Her shoulder and lower neck area. Noble team is being redeployed to sword base for a torch an burn. Although first, They must find valuable data that must not fall into The Covenant's hold. Urban Holland has decided to send a group of Odst's to help with their Op.
Chapter 2: Minimum safe distance.
*24.3 miles out of Sword base*
Carter: We're being redeployed to Sword base, As you all have heard, Pick a weapon of your choice to accompany you to the Tower. Emile, As always, Picked a shotgun, A knife, And a grenade launcher... Kat picked an Assault rifle and magnum, As well as two grenades. Carter picked up a Dmr and magnum. Noble six picked a Dmr and Assault rifle, Jun already had his sniper. It was all he needed.
Carter: Six and Jun, You're riding with me. Kat and Emile, You ride in the other falcon. See you on the other side. Six And Jun got into their ride with Carter, Kat and Emile did the same. Emile: Sure miss the big man... He was good cover. Kat: Hah, he was, Helped me cross that bridge not to long ago. Before... You know. Meanwhile in the other falcon... Carter: Jun, I want your eyes in the sky, You'll then meet up at the elevator entrance. (Over comms) Kat, You'll get our ride up the elevator.
Any questions? Emile: We get any other things to help us get there? The entire site is COVERED in Covenant forces. Carter: Holland gave us a squad of Odst's, And a Tank. The Odst's are located at the relay outpost, That's our Lz as well. The tank is not too far up the hill. Emile: I'll drive the Scorpion, Who wants to ride with me? Kat: I will be your gunner if one of the Odst's won't. Carter (Over comms) Sounds good, We'll be at the relay outpost fairly quickly. (Comms ended) Six (Over private comms with Jun): Jun: Yes? Six: Do you think Carter was scared for Kat back there? Jun: Heh, Don't see you talk much, But yeah... Carter had some sort of relationship with Her. I wouldn't be surprised if His heart stopped. Noble Six looked over at Emile, Wondering why he would carve a skull into His helmet, Considering he could barely see out manually. Although all Spartans had camera's on the outside just in case manual vision wouldn't work. Six: Why'd he put that on his helmet? Jun knew He was talking about Emile, That skull was well known among even Spartan-ll's... Jun: Oh, He was the only Spartan available at one point in time, Everyone else was off duty, Group of rebels came and overran the Camp site we were at. Wasn't anything too bad, Unfortunately for Emile, they stole a warthog, Let me remind you it was pitch black out, They dumped the turret on him, The rest of us Noble team then Got our Mjolnir armor, Found him lying on the grass outside... Jun leaned forward and used plenty of hand gestures. Six could easily tell it was about to get interesting. Jun: Emile swore revenge on the Enemy, Whoever that may be, Currently it was that group of rebels. Then, Over the course of a few months, EVERY kill was a carved on his Eva helmet. We were eventually sent after that same group of Rebels. The rest of the team was, Fortuantely for Emile, occupied defeating The other Rebels. Emile then cut into the power source for the station we were sent to. Lights went out, screams were heard everywhere, The rest of the Rebels realized just seconds later that it was him. They desperately attempted to escape His wrath. Not too long after all this, Only about 6 or so of the rebels were still ALIVE.
One by one, They were all killed, Emile then snuck up on the last one, The one that dumped the turret on him... The last rebel turned back in fear realizing he was gonna die. Emile shoved a knife up his chest. The lights were flickering back on, Revealing his Eva helmet had a skull carved into it... (Emile, at the station): Miss me? Emile turned his head to the last Rebel so that he could see what had happened to him. Jun: Quite the horror story...
Carter: Alright everyone We're here. Kat and Emile move up with the Odst's, Jun I want you sniping out the shade turret gunners. Jun nodded his head. Six I want you to sneak up and throw a grenade. Six: Yes sir. Kat and Emile ran up the site, Barely dodging the Shade turrets, Ghost rams, and Fuel rod gun Grunts. One of the Odst's was killed moving up, he managed to throw a grenade at a Ghost. It then flipped over, The grunt that was piloting it ran away in fear only to be slammed into the ground by an Elite general... It had active camo, Only this tech lasts minutes instead of seconds. Kat shot her pistol at some of the fuel rod gun grunts, It made very short work of them. Emile shot his grenade launcher at the Shade turret, These grenades were also outfitted with an EMP effect. This blast also revealed a group of Elite Generals in active camo, Jun sniped Two of them, But the other three Went back into hiding... (Jun, Open comms): Sir we got Three more Elite Generals up the facility. Carter: Six and Emile move up and neutralize those Three targets. Emile: Yes sir. Jun then sniped the Turret gunner out, Emile boarded an enemy Ghost that rammed him, Fortuantely it only took out his shields.
(Elite General, in Sangheili): Take out those two Spartans, I'll go get the Revenant. The Elites came out of active camo, Revealing that They had energy swords. They then ran at full speed towards six and emile, One taking on each of the Spartans. Emile Rammed one with his Ghost. Killing it, Emile rammed it into the wooden pillar that was holding up one of the buildings. Crushing it's entire body. You the reader, Can tell that Emile has a severe hatred towards the enemy. (This is because his brother died during a Covenant attack on His Homeworld.) Six then Fought it out with the Other General, Swinging it's energy sword at Six. Jun sniped once at him, Disabling his shields instantly, Six then whipped out his combat knife, adding one more assasination kill to his record. Six: Thanks for the assist. Jun nodded his head.
Jun reloaded his mag, He then sniped out the last three enemies. Kat Emptied Her Assault rifle mag at the tower just up ahead. Killing one of the Jackel snipers. About Four more Jackel snipers fired. Emile got his shields disabled yet again. Jun ran up with the rest and shot One of them, Distracting them so Emile could hop into the scorpion. Emile: Kat get in the Turret. I'll blast them straight to Hell. BOOOOOOM! Emile fired One tank shell at the sniper nest, Killing everyone and everything around it. A lot of Covenant forces heard this blast, Set some explosive barrels up, And got ready to fire at Noble team... Jun ran forward, got sniped, Halfway taking his shields out, He then ducked behind a rock. Jun: Sir we got more Covenant forces, Mostly snipers. Kat: You two, come with me. (She was talking to The Fireteam of Odst's) Kat found a stash of Powerful Unsc weapons, A M41 Spnkr, A sniper to assist jun taking them out from a distance, And More grenade launcher ammo for Emile. Emile fired His scorpion tank, Killing at least 6 Jackel snipers behind some rocks... (They had some explosive barrels, This was a very stupid idea, They were HIGHLY explosive, Capable of setting off a chain reaction of explosions if they were placed too closely. This was done So if they were Cornered, they could kill everyone with them) The last still alive Elite General got into his Revenant just as noble team was moving up the hill. He fired Four shots of his Revenant and then ran away, Emile almost killing the Elite with his Scorpion. Unfortunately, The Elite's Ride was too fast. The rest of the team hopped on Emile's Scorpion, Moving up the hill towards the AA guns they were sent to neutralize. It didn't take long, even for a tank, This design of tank was very fast. Moving up in just a couple of seconds. Emile saw hundreds of Banshees in the sky, Taking them out one by one. Carter: Kat and six, I want you two to go take out one of the AA guns manually, by any means neccesary.
Kat: Yessir. Six come with me, I convinced One of them Odst's to give me their Spnkr, we'll take it out fairly quickly. Six and Kat ran up to the first AA gun, while Emile shot Banshees like flies with a flyswatter. Kat got Plasma-pistoled, Taking out her shields instantly, she fell over as she got shot twice by a group of grunts. Six got in the way as a needle rifle supercombine blast hit him instead. The grunts thought they had just killed one of the most well known spartan's ever, Unfortunately for them, That wasn't the case, Six then got up slowly, The Grunts ran away in sheer terror. Six then got Kat's magnum pistol and fired twice, Headshotting them both. Kat's shield recharged a couple seconds later, She coughed and then got up. Kat: Sorry, I don't exactly have the best situational awareness.
Six: It's happened before but you can get better about it, Right now we got to take out the First AA gun. Still have the Spnkr? Kat: Oh yeah it's back there a bit. Kat then got a couple yards away from the entrance of the first AA gun. Six first disabled the shield protecting the explosive fuel, Kat then shot it with the Rocket launcher. The AA gun made a horrible groan of pain as if it was alive. They ran back towards Carter Jun an Emile as fast as they could because this AA gun was, In fact, Alive, And it was outfitted with a self-destruct if it was hurt too much. The team heard a HUGE BOOOOOOOOM as it exploded, debree flying everywhere.. Luckily for Noble team it didn't hit any of them. The rest of the banshees focused their fire on Emile and his scorpion, Using fual rod blasts equipped in their vehicle. Kat reloaded Her Spnkr, Shot two, and then repeated, She only had eight Spnkr ammo in total. Once the banshee pilots realized that they couldn't do anything against a scorpion tank and a Rocket launcher, They retreated. Emile made a hellish laugh, He actually enjoyed smothering enemies left and right, It was more of a game instead of giving him trauma (even to the slightest) He then aimed his scorpion towards the second AA gun, firing around 12 shots before it fell apart and exploded. Jun And Carter hopped into a falcon, Taking them to the courtyard entrance. Kat, Emile, Six and the 3 Odst's that were still alive moved up. They made light work of any Covenant forces in their way, Firing maybe 100's of shots from the scorpion before it ran out of ammo. They were at the Courtyard entrance when they saw the Elite General in His Revenant. Emile fired his Grenade launcher at the Elite, Disabling His Revenant, The Elite General then hopped out, Taking on Six and Emile all by Himself. Igniting his Energy sword, Swinging it at Emile, Slightly cutting into his Eva helmet, Emile screamed and drew out his Combat knife, Shoving it into the Elite's hand. The Elite Groaned in pain as blood dripped everywhere. Emile got His Knife out of the Elite's hand an then shoved it down it's throat. Then they ran up to the entrance, Kat heard Jun sniping just up ahead... Kat: They're just up ahead in the courtyard, I'll move up, Six, Take my magnum and headshot a few grunts, You 3 Odst's, Follow me. Kat ran up to Carter and Jun while the Odst's emptied their mags. Carter: Alright Noble team, Contacts neutralized. Kat go work on the Elevator. Kat: Ok but I'll need some cover fire. Six, Don't just watch my Ass. Jun: Haha You seem to do that a lot. Emile And Carter looked over at Kat and Six, In slight concern but thought it was a little funny. Six: Yes Ma'am. Kat then went to go work on the Elevator, But it had plasma damage. Kat: Sorry Boss, Plasma damage completely ruined it, We'll have to manually walk up. Carter: You heard her, The Elevator isn't working, Kat get the door open, Whatever you need to do do it.
Six get Give me a grenade, Preferably A plasma grenade. Six handed Kat His two plasma grenades, The door was welded together by covenant forces... Jun: Sir do You think they knew We were coming? Carter: Possibility, Kat how's it going? Kat: Good commander, I'm setting up these grenades to have a maximum explosion. Ok everyone step back, I'm gonna activate the stickies. Activating in 3... 2... 1... RUN! Kat ran as fast as she could away from the stickies. BOOM! The door not only opened, But was completely gone. Carter: Good job Kat. Let's move up the stairs. Noble team Then ran up the stairs, Six passed by an energy sword, Dead elite, Someone killed an Elite with their bare hands? Kat said. Six: Doesn't matter to me, I get an energy sword. Six put it beside his magnum Kat gave him on his waist. Noble team was moving up when they heard Jackels talking. Jun: (whispering) Six, Throw a grenade at that group of Jackels. Six peeked out of the doorway And then threw His grenade, Killing 4 of them instantly.
Noble team Cleared out the jackels protecting the next doorway, Noble team went through and cleared out any enemies that were dumb enough to get into their path. Emile: HOLD UP everyone, I hear an engineer. Kat: I can confirm, It's giving 3 Elites Overshields. Carter: Jun take out the Engineer with Your sniper. Jun then took it out in Two shots. The Elites rushed Noble team but Six remembered He had and Energy sword, Stabbing two of the Elites, The last one had a fuel rod gun and shot Carter into the wall. Kat: BOSS! Kat then rushed the Elite with Emile, Six took out It's shields with his magnum, Emile dropped His Grenade launcher, And shot It once with His Shotgun. Killing It instantly, Carter barely survived. Carter: I need a med-kit, Emile, Find one. Emile was looking around and eventually found one. Emile: here You go boss. Carter was repairing his armor with the few supplies that came in the med-kit, When suddenly DOT gave him directions, Strangely, these directions Didn't seem usual, Aiming them underground. Carter stood up, Very weakly. They headed up the stairs, Then came upon a lift. Jun: Boss I hate to break it to you but these coordinates are junk. They're aiming us 2,000+ feet undergroun-
Just then a door opened, Dot told Carter and them to move along. Carter: Dot? Stand by commander, I'm recieving... New coordinates. Noble team hopped into a lift, directing them underground in a different direction then last time. The screen in the corner of the room flickered on, Showing Doctor Halsey, perfectly alive and well, Carter: Doctor Halsey... News said you were dead. Dr Halsey: Yes, well news of my death was... Greatly exaggerated. I just wish the same could be said For Jorge.
Carter: We all do ma'am. Dr Halsey: I'm sending You and Noble team to come down and protect me, I am making something for you to escort off planet... Kat: What is so important that it needs to go offworld? Dr Halsey: You'll see soon enough Kat, You know Curiosity does kill the Cat right? Kat silently backed away from the screen, Realizing that She was a bit snoopy. I've set up several turrets but they'll need to be taken back online once in a while. Carter: You heard Dr Halsey, Get to work Noble. Noble team then gathered whatever Weapons they could find, Covenant dropships dispatched Waves upon waves of Covenant forces. Just then Six got all four turrets online. Kat handled a Spartan laser. Killing any Banshees dumb enough to come too close. The turrets started spinning then fired at tons of enemies, Phantoms, Banshees, Etc. Six Saw a Wraith accross the Open underground snowy field. Six: Kat focus fire on that wraith, It's becoming a real problem. Kat: Affirmative, Stand back Jun, I'm firing. Kat shot Her Spartan laser, Destroying the Wraith instantly. 2 more waves of covenant forces were deployed, Noble team made quick work of them because of Kat's laser, And Jun's sniping. Dr Halsey: Ok, I'm opening the doors, Come inside Spartans. Noble team Walked down the seemingly endless hallway, They did get to Doctor Halsey. Emile: What is all this stuff? Doctor Halsey: Knowledge, a birthright from an ancient civilization. This Ai is it's custodian. And She has chosen you as her carriers. Emile: Chosen? By Ai? Doctor Halsey: This Ai yes. Her measure of you is as much of mine, If not more. You are to take her to the Unsc shipyard in Aszod. There you will find a Hellsion class cruiser waiting to get Her off planet. Carter: I understand. Doctor Halsey: Do you? Mankind is outmatched. When reach falls, And it will fall, Our annihilation is all but certain. Unless... We can gleam from this artifact a defense against The Covenant. A game-changer. On the level of the conical bullet of the 19th century. Or faster than light travel in the 23rd. Carter: And what if we can't? Doctor Halsey: An ampt question, If there were somewhere else to place our hope... There is not. Cortana looked at Halsey when she said this. Six understood why They were here. It wasn't about them, It was about this, Ai. If She didn't make it off planet Humanity would fall mearly months later. Doctor Halsey: Take it lieutenant, She has made her choice. Six reached out, Knowing This Ai Had chosen him, Probably because of his skill to stay alive. Doctor Halsey: Do you have it? Six: Yes. Doctor Halsey was a bit uncertain, This would mean handing over the fate of mankind. Doctor Halsey: Say the words please... Six: I- I have it. Six placed Cortana on his back, clipping onto a part of his armor. They went above the surface mear minutes away before the entire frozen lake collapsed. Carter: Doctor Halsey Noble 3 will escort you to Castle base. Doctor Halsey: I require NO escort commande- Carter: Jun make sure NOTHING falls into enemy hands. Jun: I'll do what is neccesary sir. Good luck. Carter: You too, rifleman. Kat, Emile, Six and Carter hopped into a pelican, Carter was piloting it. Since there was no garuntee that the Covenant wasn't around, they made one last sweep around the place to make sure they could take off safely. Kat: all good Commander, LET'S GO LET'S GO! Kat waved her arm towards the pelican towards the Two Odst's that were still alive, One of them died in an explosion. Six held onto a bar in the pelican, they took off. Emile felt like living on the edge, Litterally. While Kat just sat down. Carter: I need a heading, DOT. Auntie DOT: Head 3 kilomiters north, then take a right. Heading 0 5 0. Carter: Which leads to? Auntie DOT: The shipyard in Aszod. The only off-planet extraction point Left on this Continent. Small scale air attacks have decimated many convoys on root. Unsc Pillar of Autumn is awaiting your arrival. Carter: Wouldn't be a Noble mission if it were easy. Emile looked over to see the lake they were under completely collapse. Burrying anything that was too unfortunate to be under it. Emile then re-adjusted his stance, he was barely even on the pelican. Kat and Six took one last look at jun, they could still see Him in His Pelican.
Chapter done! sorry for whoever is reading this that it took this long, I didn't have the motivation to finish the chapter. I am also planning on making 2-3 more chapters, depending how much closure either will give the reader.
