RWBY: A Thorn in My Heart
Chapter 26: Weiss's Secret
As she gazed upon on her homeland, Weiss was overcome with an intense sense of dread. At first it was because she was uncomfortable for her inevitable reunion with her family. Then it was from having to cover her ears as the sounds of a child squealing pierced her eardrums, making them feel like they would rupture.
"Great! Even on a private plane there has to be a crying child and a mother ignoring it!" She yelled. Yang gave her a huge grin, despite also covering her ears, as she then looked to see her little sister give a bright smile as she made contact on the ships communication hub with her nephew.
"Mommy!" Thorn yelled, his face glowing at the sight of his mother.
"Sweetie I'm so glad to see you. How's your boo boo?" Ruby said, gushing over seeing her son's cute face.
Weiss lowered her hands to her knees, giving a solemn look towards her leader as she gave her son praises for things like "being brave" or "tougher than a Ursa". She couldn't help but give a loud sigh as she turned her head back towards the window and see Atlas with an deadpan expression.
Ruby heard this and glanced over to her partner. She was curious about Weiss's unusual behavior lately, and felt a strong urge to go see how her friend was doing. Her father's voice on the other end erased that thought from oblivion as Ruby instantly darted her head back towards the screen.
"Ruby! You don't how worried I was. What happened?! Why did you go dark like that?! What was that shaking?!" Tai asked erratically. Ruby could tell by his tone he was panicking, not that she could blame him. She did end her last message rather abruptly, and her own panic attack and the plane crash wouldn't alleviate the situation for either of them. As much as it pained her chest to lie, she knew she had to calm her father down and not worry her son either. He was just too young to know about the dangers of being a huntsman. She raised her hands towards her father's image.
"Whoa! Whoa Dad! Take a deep breath and relax your asking too much at once!" she sternly yelled. Tai did as she asked and, after a few deep breaths, finally relaxed.
"Sorry sweetie its just…" he started
"No its okay! We had some… uh…engine trouble but the everything's fine now. I dropped my scroll and broke it and the ships power was off while making repairs so I couldn't call you for a while." She lied.
Tai could hear the anxiety in her tone and knew what she was telling him was a lie. Before he could press the issue, his daughter immediately cut him off.
"So guess what dad, a lot of crazy stuff happened while making repairs. For starters, Nora is pregnant!" she exclaimed. Her news brining smiles and congratulations from Tai and Raven.
"So I guess she's heading home now, seeing as how she can't fight while with child." Raven said, eyeing Ruby while raising an eyebrow. Ruby awkwardly rubbed her arm at this question, it certainly wasn't a moment she was proud of, fighting while 6 months pregnant during the war. She eyed her son somberly at this recollection, remembering how Timber punched her stomach that day. If her aura had even been a little late to guard her, Thorn would either be dead or likely mentally damaged.
"Yeah, thing is… she is home. She and Ren found their old hometown and we killed a Grimm that terrorized it. They are going to stay behind and rebuild it. We have Weiss here to thank for supporting that and for killing it. We wouldn't have found out its weakness without her quick thinking." She said quickly moving out of the screen and waving to Weiss, who simply ignored her compliments.
Ruby gave a large frown at this; usually Weiss had a big head and loved receiving praises. She couldn't wrap her head around her friends behavior.
"What's wrong with Weiss Ruby?" Tai asked, concerned more for his daughter than her. After all, Weiss was Ruby's partner so any burdens she barred may impede Ruby as well, in or out of battle. Ruby lowered her tone, not wanting Weiss to know they were talking behind her back.
"I don't know. We met up with Sun, you know that monkey guy from our Beacon days. Anyhow, she's been rather ice cold to him and glum since we took off." Ruby whispered after giving a huge sigh.
"So the ice queen is giving you chills." Raven joked, but Ruby glared at her fiercely, showing she wasn't in the mood for jokes.
"This is serious, I want to go talk to her, but I don't even know what to ask her." She said, raising her tone in anger just a bit.
"Then don't say anything. Let her cool off, she will tell you what's wrong when she feels comfortable. Until then, it's not your business, so don't pressure her into talking when she doesn't feel ready." Raven said with a stern, but empathetic tone.
Ruby pondered her stepmother's words carefully as she eyed her partner. She couldn't help but acknowledge Raven's words as the truth. Indeed, Ruby herself hated talking about her problems to anyone. It was the reason she quit therapy for anti-depressants, despite it being more expensive. She felt extreme pressure in her heart, as she felt a strong urge to take a pill to alleviate the pain. Unfortunately, her pills were destroyed in the crash, so she was going to have to get some in Atlas, but the plane wouldn't land for a bit and she didn't know her way around anyway. Taking some deep breaths, Ruby felt her mind race a bit and asked to see Thorn. Since her last panic attack, she felt he was now the only means for her to calm down.
The trick worked as she felt her heartbeat calm as she saw him cradled in Raven's arms and waved to her.
"Okay, were going to land in Atlas now for my mission so I may go dark for a while. I'll try to call you later. Thanks for the help m-mom" Ruby said, stuttering the last word. This surprised Raven, Ruby never called her that before, much to her annoyance, but she knew it was out of love for her own mother Summer. Even so, Raven felt uneasy around her step-daughter at times for not calling her that word so she didn't really know how to feel finally hearing those words. She didn't get much time to ponder it as Ruby gave her son some air kisses from the other end.
"Love you, my sweet little rose." She said as she hung up.
Atlas Airfield
The ship touched down on a platform as two men in bright orange uniforms waved lights to guide the ship safely as it landed on a clear spot. General Ironwood and Winter Schnee watched as the Mistral ship rumbled as it landed, the latter obviously unimpressed with the older model.
"Really wish my sister could have gotten one of our great ships to pick her up." She said with a snarky tone.
"It couldn't be helped, Mistral was closer to them and were getting short on dust for fuel these days." Ironwood sternly said as he eyed his captain for her comment.
She gritted her teeth at this remark, it was a huge blow to her pride having dust repeatedly stolen under her nose and being scorned for it by not just the people, but her own superior. Even needing to request help infuriated her period.
She only relented because it was her own sister who was coming.
Speaking of the devil, the ships hanger lowered as Weiss lead her friends and Sun out of the ship, the former still wearing a deadpan expression. Winter however, formed a smile as she couldn't help but feel very happy to see her sister again after so many months away. She felt an urge to run towards her and almost started before pausing after the first few steps. She quickly composed herself, remembering her general was next to her and had to show discretion. She began walking slowly towards her sister and her friends alongside Ironwood.
"Glad to see you all made it here safely. I trust the trip wasn't too unpleasant in that clunker." Winter asked her sister, who still didn't budge her frowning.
"It was fine, still sort of wishing you picked us up rather than monkey boy." Weiss replied, glaring at Sun as he received a handshake from Ironwood.
"Thank you for retrieving Team RWBY sir, it was a great service you did Atlas today." Ironwood said to Sun, who sheepishly grinned, as he felt awkward getting praises from Atlas military seeing as how they had hurt Blake's family and their people in the past.
"Well, its good to hear Atlas trusts me so much." He said.
Winter couldn't help but glare at him fiercely for that comment, having always felt bitter that a Faunus was friends with her sister, their companies president, and didn't trust him at all. In fact, she would have hijacked a ship and gone their herself if she knew Sun was going to pick her up.
"Did he give you more problems to deal with again." She bitterly asked Weiss, who shook her head in response.
"Nothing important happened, just like always." Weiss replied.
Blake couldn't help but overhear them speak about Sun and gave the older Schnee a fierce glare. Not that Winter paid it any mind, to her Blake was just another unimportant animal not worth her time for even conversation or arguments.
"Well then, follow me everyone. Winter and I will brief you all on the mission in my chambers. Oh Sun! If you could join us as well." The General ordered the group, Winter's eyes widening with shock from this declaration's last part.
"Sir! The mission was for huntsman and huntresses from Team RWBY and JNPR not a school principle." Winter protested, Sun and Blake frowning with disdain for this derogatory comment.
Ironwood merely turned his head towards her as he continued walking towards his base.
"I outrank you, now escort him and the others to my office now captain!" he sternly said, his tone silencing the older Schnee instantly as she collected herself and complied. Ironwood smirked as he saw Sun and Blake softly laugh at Winter's predicament. To him it didn't matter if Sun was a teacher,in fact it made him more confidant the latter could help with his mission as Ironwood saw a bit of Ozpin in him. Not only were both headmasters, both had a knack for making great allies that embodied the true spirits of huntsman, and so felt they could be trusted.
Mission
The group walked down the halls of Atlas's main military compound, Yang couldn't help but look in awe at the chrome and emerald walls and roof that made it look like a palace. It brought a sense of relief to her as it reminded her warmly of her days at Beacon. It had been so many years since they graduated, but all of Team RWBY shared this feeling. They saw the mess hall for soldiers they passed by and imagined their food fight with Team JNPR. Weiss chuckled as she remembered Neptune getting purple soda splattered all over his face. Yang could tell what she was thinking and inhaled some air, before letting out a belch.
"Gross Yang!" Weiss said, before she let out a small laugh as she remembered her doing that after the battle.
"Your suppose to do that after you fall threw a roof." She joked. She soon tensed up like a scarecrow as she felt her older sisters sharp gaze upon her. It was a glare she felt many times when training under her fierce regimen as if saying
"You're disgracing our family name Weiss!"
Not that she didn't understand why. General Ironwood, Winter's boss, was in their presence and they should be acting on their best behavior around him especially.
Blake put a hand on Weiss's shoulder and gave her a sympathetic smile. Blake sensed with her semblance how uncomfortable Winter was making Weiss. She honestly felt that pressure she was sensing many times training under Adam and the White Fang. She felt that pressure even now being in Atlas, the place her mother was murdered by police like Winter. She honestly found it a miracle she, a faunus and former terrorist, wasn't shot on sight by the soldiers surrounding them. But Blake could tell now wasn't a good time to start a fight or feel anxious; her friend needed her support and she was going to give it.
"Don't worry, were here to save the day and make the world a brighter place. Just forget about everything else and let us fellow huntresses worry about the complicated stuff." Blake said brightly.
Ruby's eyes widen in shock, those were almost the exact words she had told Blake when they had their first actual conversation at school. Ruby felt her heart flutter at those words. She couldn't believe back then she was content to be just Yang's friend and was grateful she had been forced into meeting Blake. Huntresses couldn't save everyone or solve all the worlds problems, like Blake once argued, but Ruby felt her spirit shine hearing her own response to how they help as many as they can and carry burdens for the innocent from her normally cynical wife.
Weiss also felt flattered by her friend's assurance and decided to give Winter her own stink eye,
"Lets move on and get this mission over with shall we?"
Weiss sternly said and press forward passed Winter to Ironwood's office.
Winter fought a lot of pressure to avoid giving off a smirk from her mouth and maintain posture, she was honestly impressed by her sister's defiance to her.
"She really is becoming her own Huntress." She thought to herself, proud Weiss was finally stepping up to her.
In Ironwoods Office, everyone gathered by his desk as he pressed a button on it to seal the room shut. He clearly didn't want any outside forces to hear his plan.
"Okay, as you already know we have been dealing with a lot of Dust mine attacks and thefts from the white fang. Within the last 3 weeks they attack several dust mines repeatedly." Ironwood began. Blake bit her lower lip, annoyed that after all these years her former comrades were still causing so much trouble not just for Atlas, but all of Remnant. Dust was important for electricity and everyday uses like driving or businesses so it really didn't help their "cause" to steal it for weapons manufacturing. Ironwood turned to her and Ruby before continuing.
"I specifically requested your team Mrs. Rose because I felt perhaps your wife could shed some light on her former allies tactics and help us snuff them out." He stated.
Blake shuddered a little as she recognized what Ironwood wanted, for her to help track them down and kill them. She had heard from Goodwitch how brutal Ironwood could be to enemies, bordering on excessive. Even though she condemn her own brethren's terrorist actions, she wasn't fond of the idea of killing them.
"Well… I… we generally moved from base to base after each theft back in my day. I'm really surprised they chose to attack the same dust mines despite that risk." She meekly began. Fighting her discomfort, she soon found herself perplexed as it made no sense to her. In the past, they didn't stay in the area after thefts, so making multiple attacks on the same place increased the chance of running into armed forces. That's when she suddenly realized something.
"They want to draw you in. They want to start a fight with Atlas!" she exclaimed. Ironwood bore a surprised look as he stepped forward in interest.
"Why would they want to openly challenge us again? We have tripled our manpower and firepower since the breakout 5 years ago." Ironwood said as he showcased a holo map of Atlas's military tanks, gunships, and a colossal army personal. Ruby's eyes glowed seeing all these powerful weapons and soldiers, impressed by the show. She soon calmed down upon realizing the general had a point. As much as she wanted to disagree with the man who argued with her wife, it wouldn't seem likely the White Fang wanted to openly wage war against such a force. Still she felt complied to stand by Blake.
"Maybe Cinder uh…wants to just antagonize you, maybe distract you from something and steal things?" Ruby stuttered, quickly coming up with a theory. Ironwood looked down on the ground and formed a sharp glare. Everyone tensed up seeing his reaction.
"What is it?" Yang asked the general. Before he could even answer a rugged voice spoke up from the shadows.
"This is where I come in kiddos"
Despite being startled at first, everyone fought the desire grab their weapons as they recognized whom it came from.
Our from the shadows in a corner of the room stepped Qrow Branwen, who gave a smug smile to his nieces and their friends.
"Uncle Qrow!" Yang and Ruby yelled as they tackled him, their now taller bodies making the impact harder for him to handle as he felt the wind knocked out of him.
"Geez kids, I was gonna say "missed ya" now forget it." He laughed beyond his wheezing. Yang and Ruby didn't pay it any mind, they were happy to see Qrow after so long.
"It's been 2 years Uncle, where have you been?" Ruby asked. Qrow formed a frown at this question, making Yang form an annoyed expression.
"Okay! What's with you two, why all the dramatic silence. Just tell us whats going on!" she demanded.
"Watch your tone Xiao Long, he's the General!" Winter scolded her, but was silenced as Ironwood raised a hand.
"Qrow has been tracking Cinder and her organization for me since the breakout." Ironwood said as he finally broke his silence.
Ruby formed an intense look of anger on her face hearing that name.
"That witch!" she grunted. Blake couldn't blame her, she rubbed her own cat ear as she remembered the message where the witch cut their son's ear.
"Yeah kiddo, she's been amping up her game messing with us. I tracked her to the dark continent, after that everything went dark…. No pun intended." Qrow added solemnly.
"What's the dark continent?" Ruby asked confused.
"The dark continent is a small island on the edge of world, surrounded by a treacherous ocean that makes sailing almost impossible. Grimm like Nevermores and Manticores fly around the skies making flying unsuitable as well. We have reason to believe it's the birthplace of Grimm themselves." Ironwood explained, this wasn't public knowledge so he didn't blame the group for reacting with shock.
"So you think Cinder lives there?" Ruby asked, receiving a nod from Qrow in return.
"It's really been frustrating, she can slip into almost anywhere in the world with that portal semblance of hers and kill any of our huntsman and slip out." Ironwood said before clasping his mouth as Qrow shook his head in disappointment.
Yang didn't miss that comment, not just from the shame she felt her mom's evolved semblance was being used against them, but also the assassination part.
"Huntsman are being killed!?" she asked, earning looks of terror from the group.
Ironwood hung his head in shame, it was not something he was proud of.
"Yes, for the last few weeks Atlas's huntsman have been disappearing, but we have reason to believe Cinder is killing them. After all, after Beacon was attacked we still haven't recovered the student's bodies." He bitterly said. Everyone fought tears remembering this bitter day, the school may have reopened, but so many families lost their children and couldn't even give a proper burial.
"We don't know what she wants with their bodies, but it can't be good. Your mission is investigate the dust mines and capture any white fang you come across so my forces can interrogate them for info." Ironwood ordered. It went over the teams heads, but Qrow knew that Ironwood was basically using his nieces team as a hired gun team to avoid risking the generals own men, something that pissed him off to no end. Regardless, he knew Ruby was deadest on helping people and would ignore that callous risk anyway, so kept his mouth shut. Winter then spoke up, gaining everyone's attention, especially Weiss.
"Okay then, I prepared rooms at the Schnee manor for you all while you stay in Atlas, might as well get some rest for tomorrows mission." Winter said, she herself felt tired as it was almost 2 AM.
Weiss pulled her sister aside and went to her ear, trying to make sure her friends didn't hear this.
"Are you crazy, what about… that!?" she whispered to her sister, but clearly felt angry.
"Don't worry, "it" is being sent to Mistral with the monkey boy later." Winter said with a condescending tone. Weiss couldn't resist slapping her sister in the face after hearing "it" to Ironwood's shock.
"Miss Schnee, what are you doing to my captain!?" he asked sternly while everyone else was confused by Weiss's behavior.
Weiss suddenly took a deep breath as she collected herself.
"Sorry everyone, just a family argument. Are you sure we must stay at my manor? I haven't been there in a while and it… um… may not be that comfortable for you all." She awkwardly stated, forcing a lame excuse. She just didn't want her friends at her home right now. Winter smirked as she enjoyed seeing Weiss lose her cool in revenge.
"I insist, I spared no expense hiring Atlas's best decorators and the made the help clean every nook and cranny for your friends. Believe me they will enjoy it sister." She sarcastically stated, earning a grumble from Weiss. Seeing there was no way out of this without spilling the beans, Weiss relented.
"Fine, lets go home already." Weiss groaned as she exited the office, to her friends confusion.
Schnee Manor
"Welcome Miss Schnee, esteemed guests, I have been looking forward to your arrival." A fat, semi-bald middle aged butler with a brown mustache said as he bowed his head to Team RWBY, Sun, Qrow, and Winter.
Weiss simply smiled as she ran up and hugged him to Winter and her friends amusement.
"It's so great to see you again Klein!" she exclaimed as she teared up a little as he embraced her hug. Klein Sieban had been Weiss's butler and caretaker all her life. Honestly he was more of a father to her than Jacquees ever was. He at least encouraged her and treated her kindly without ever really raising his voice, and more importantly hand to her.
"Well, at least one good thing came from coming home." Weiss said as Klein broke off the hug and coughed, he was trying his best to regain his posture as a proper butler around Winter, whom he sweat a bit seeing. She always was very insistent of formal appearances.
"Yes, it's an honor to receive such praise master Weiss. Now, let me show your friends to their rooms." He said.
While making sure winter wasn't looking, Klein leaned towards Weiss's ear,
"It brings me no end of joy seeing you again my little snowflake." He warmly said.
Weiss cried a little, filled with immense happiness and sadness wishing she could hug him again, but knew his pride as a butler meant he be allowed to immediately fulfill his duties first. Weiss saw the entrance to her house and felt cold sweat drip down her face. Her chest pounded like a drum as she felt anxious to have her friends here.
Winter saw her sister move slowly and assumed what she was feeling so walked up to Weiss,
"Like I said, another ship already took off, the monkey will be shipped off to Mistral later too so don't panic." She whispered.
Weiss took a deep breath as she looked back to see her friends chatting. Relief overtook her as they hadn't been paying attention to her this time. She just couldn't let them find out about her secret.
As they entered the mansion, Ruby was the most amazed, she darted around admiring the white stone statues of knights with real silver bladed swords imbedded in the hands, cases filled with spears and maces of once held by Weiss's ancestors, and shields with dust insertion slots to power them up.
"Nerd alert everybody!" Blake jokingly announced, causing everyone to laugh at the blushing Ruby.
Winter forced a cough as she stared at Klein, motioning him to take them to their rooms already.
"Please follow me and I will escort you to your rooms." He said professionally. Everyone complied, especially Blake who let out a huge yawn as she was perhaps the most exhausted of the group.
As she and Ruby were almost put in separate rooms, Blake informed Klein they were actually married so he hurriedly prepared Ruby's room to house them both. He almost forced a guest bed into there, but they insisted they share their sole bed. They didn't plan to have a romantic night though, they were just too tired and needed each others presence to sleep soundly.
"Man, it sure was a wild trip, but at least we can finally take it easy for a bit." Blake sighed.
"Come on honey, were is your sense of adventure?! Tomorrow we get to be like detectives and hunt down bad guys. Killing Grimm is cool and all, but a change of pace is needed once in a while." Ruby excitingly stated as she changed into her pajamas. Blake smiled a little, despite some mild annoyance at her volume level this late at night. It was always comforting for her to see Ruby act like the innocent hero worshipping girl she met at Beacon all those years ago.
Suddenly, Blake's ears twitched as she heard a sound outside her door. She drew Gambrol Shroud and Ruby instantly grabbed Crescent Rose and Penny Sword from under her pillow, both having trained to keep their weapons ready at all times. In that moment, Ruby cursed herself for forgetting to tell Ironwood about Penny, but decided to save that for tomorrow, if they lived to see it that is. No, they were going to live, she had to think like that even in dangerous situations like this.
"You think its Cinder?" Ruby whispered. It wasn't far fetched considering the witch could teleport anywhere in the world, it was why they trained their senses so sharply to be ready for an attack from a portal at any time. Blake simply shook her head; she was uncertain what was out there.
"Not sure, but be ready for her or Grimm just in case." Blake whispered back, earning a nod from her wife. They slowly approached the door, their sweaty hands trembling as they were itching to pull the trigger or swing a blade. Blake slowly placed her hand on the knob, and eyed ruby.
"On the count of 3…. 1….2….3!" she counted down as she forced the door open and she and Ruby jumped out, only to be filled with embarrassment once seeing no one was out there.
"Man, we made ourselves look like total jackasses!" Blake groaned, irritated at her overreaction. She was certain she heard someone though and looked around, but all she saw was an empty hallway with just painting and vases around. She was soon startled by Penny Sword's symbol beeping.
"Your senses were not wrong Blake, I detected a small presence outside the door as well. I was about to inform you when Ruby grabbed me…not that it didn't feel good though." Penny said before her tone turned seductive, having felt pleased by the sudden jerk motion. Ruby and Blake blushed a little,
"Not a good time for "night stuff" Penny, we got to find what out that thing was. We may have a baby Grimm in the mansion." Blake said. She clenched her shoulder and neck, her scars from the bite the baby Beowulf Grimm gave her years ago burning.
"Don't worry, I sensed it was human-like for sure so it's not a Grimm." Penny stated, earning sighs from Ruby and Blake, they were happy that fear was denied.
"Still, lets split up and look for whoever was here, just in case we got a spy or assassin here." Ruby ordered, to Blake's agreement.
Blake went down the left of the isle while Ruby and Penny took the right direction. Though Blake hated being separated from her wife and lover, she decided against arguing with them. Her semblance could have covered more grown, but the longer her clones last the more Aura she used up, and she felt she needed every last bit of it in case things got dicey.
As Blake walked down stairs to check multiple rooms, having not sensed any ill feelings or extra presences from her friends rooms, her ears picked up on the sounds of shouting near Weiss's master bedroom. She felt her skin gain goosebumps as she feared something was happening to her friend and rushed towards the room. She only wished she had a scroll to call Ruby to her for backup but had to go at it alone. She stopped dead in her tracks as she came close to the door and heard Weiss and Sun arguing.
"Why do I have to go back to Mistral so soon?" he shouted.
Blake was confused, she was uncertain why Sun was talking to Weiss or why he was leaving. The General said he could join their mission earlier.
"She needs your help more than we do, I can't babysit both of you while fighting those animals." Weiss countered. Blake and Sun frowned as both knew she referred to the White Fang as animals in a morally demeaning manor instead of bigotry, but still usually felt offended hearing that term.
"Wait, "she"?" Blake asked herself, having noticed Weiss's comment. Blake thought she was referring to Winter, but then shook her head. Why would the Atlas captain need to be in Mistral with the headmaster? It made no sense as did the fact Weiss wanted Sun to leave so soon. He had told them he left the school in the hands of his vice principal so it did seem hasty to have him leave.
"Why are Sun and Weiss at each others throats so much lately?" she asked herself internally to not give her presence away. They used to be good friends at least, since Sun helped them defeat Roman at the docks and save Ruby at the same time. Why were they so hostile to each other now?
Suddenly she drew her blade towards the shadows, having sensed that small person from earlier outside her room.
She approached the figure, who was revealed to be a small white haired girl in white pajamas in a fetal position, crying into her legs. Blake withdrew her blade instantly and knelt before the girl, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, are you okay sweetie? Blake asked the crying girl before noticing something, she had a small white tail on her bottom. This girl was a faunus. Her white hair made it seem like she was a relative of Weiss's, so Blake was extremely surprised a schnee would have a Faunus relative, considering their previous attitude towards Faunus kind. Her surprise turned into shock as she grew pale from what the child said next.
"Mommy and Daddy are fighting about me again." The teary blue eyed girl sadly said as she briefly looked up before resuming her sobbing into her legs.
Blake suddenly grabbed her and kicked the door to Weiss's room down, to the latter and Sun's shock as they almost drew their weapons before seeing it was just their friend.
"Blake what the hell are you…" Weiss started before her eyes widen seeing the girl her teammate was carrying.
"You want the hell, I'll give you two the hell! Why didn't you tell me you have a daughter!?" Blake yelled.
Sun and Weiss jaws dropped as they saw the little girl crying into Blake's shoulder. Weiss bit her lip, Winter said she was taken to Mistral, but she guessed the little girl snuck off before it left, just like how Sun would. After a few more moments of awkward silence, Weiss broke it with a heavy sigh.
"Guess the cat's out of the bag now." She groaned.
"Monkey's more like it." Sun chuckled, despite also feeling embarrassed by the secret getting out. He received a painful punch to the gut from Weiss as a result for this bad pun, knocking the wind out of him. Blake looked at them confused and angry, realizing what she accused was actually true.
"Yes Blake, meet our daughter, Nala Schnee." Weiss reluctantly said.
There you have it, Weiss's secret is out. Next chapter we see the backstory to Nala's conception. I know what people are thinking, Nala is lion from lion king, but Nala also mean in Queen or Successful in Swahili, which fits a faunus rich girl. Blake will have a big reaction to why Weiss kept it a secret in chapter 27: Separation
