Sineater gave a list of fluffy prompts and this one immediately jumped out:

Lunch date during busy days

Some weeks Scott felt that his feet never touched the floor of the villa for more than two steps before he was called out again. Whether it was a rescue – the usual cause – or a crisis at TI, Scott would about turn and deal with it.

This week had been one of his worst.

He couldn't remember the last time he'd even been able to share a moment with a sibling, a word with his Grandma in person. The last time he'd felt the warmth of Kayo's touch.

But billion-dollar corporations don't run themselves. Not when there are problems.

He'd been rescuing a trapped miner in China in the early hours while Virgil, Gordon and Alan were in the Philippians rescuing villages from flooding caused by heavy rainfall. Straight of the back of that one he was sent to pick up a climber who had fell and broken his leg. Scott had made it home in time to shower and change into his suit before flying to TI Headquarters to sort out the latest issue.

He really need to talk to John and HR about this, but for now he needed to put out the big fires before he could tackle the cause.

It turned into another marathon, only this time he could – and did – call for breaks. If he had a catnap during the first 30-minute break, well, only John would know that.

But as they got back into sorting out the problem caffeine would only get him so far, and Scott itched to call his favourite Katz and have them deliver…everything. God help him, he could eat a horse right now.

As if reading his mind, his screen flashed up a message.

'Breaktime. 30 minutes. Do not be late. You have 5 minutes to clear the room.'

Five minutes wasn't long, but knowing his brother, if Scott didn't do it he'd possibly set off the fire alarm or something. Telling them he was calling another half-hour break and they had less than five minutes to get out didn't go down very well…

…but four minutes after he had received the message the boardroom was clear.

There was a smart tap on the door and he got up to open it, his interest piqued.

It wasn't his brother.

Kayo stood there, laden with two bags with that Katz' logo on and a smell that made his mouth water. He reached forward to grab them and Kayo laughed, dancing out of his way and into the room.

Scott slammed the door behind her and gave chase. It was only a short one but she made it to his chair before him and put her feet up on the table. There was mischief in her eyes and a grin on her face. He leaned forward and kissed her soundly.

'God have I missed you!'

'Me or the food I have bought with me?'

'Both.'

Kayo laughed at him before shoving one bag in front of him.

'Eat. We don't have long.'

They ate Reuben sandwiches washed down with black cherry soda and didn't talk until the food was gone.

There wasn't much time left.

Kayo and Scott cleared the table together and she pulled him into a hug.

'Thank you. I needed to see you so much.'

'Me too.'

'I wish I had more time.'

'Don't worry. I'll be upstairs when you're done tonight, and if you're not finished by 8 I will come down and close the meeting.'

'Promise?'

Her laughter carried Scott through the rest of the meeting.
