Eclipsed by Desire
Relaxing in the soothing warmth of the hot springs, steam enveloping him, Issei Hyoudou's gaze wandered over his transformed physique. He couldn't help but marvel at the newfound strength and muscularity that now defined him. It was a stark contrast to the scrawny kid he used to be.
I've come a long way from being a weakling that's for sure. Looking down he couldn't believe how instead of skin and bone he had abs along with
As he basked in the comforting embrace of the hot springs, his thoughts inevitably drifted to her. She went out with the other girls today, too bad we couldn't be alone. The deep affection he harbored for her had transcended mere infatuation; it had matured into a profound love. Yet, beneath the surface of his newfound confidence, a persistent insecurity gnawed at him.
He often felt she was leagues above him. She, an alluring and formidable Devil, while he, a human turned Devil, still felt the weight of his past. Insecurities whispered to him that he wasn't deserving of her, but he couldn't bear to hide his feelings any longer.
She is out of my leave but I can't deny what I feel for her. The feelings I have won't just go away easily.
Opening his eyes, he gazed up at the starry night sky above the hot springs, taking a deep breath he let his feelings out. "I love her," he whispered, the words carrying a weight he had never felt before. "I love her deeply, and I can't hold it back."
The confession left him feeling liberated, as if a heavy burden had been lifted from his chest. He understood that revealing his love would change everything, but he was willing to take that risk. He couldn't continue hiding his feelings, and he needed to know if she felt the same.
What he felt for Rias was unlike anything he had felt for any other girl. Most girls he lusted after and while he did like Rias that way too there was deeper with her, something that him want to establish more of a permanent relationship with her than some one night stand.
Weeks passed, but his determination to confess remained unwavering. He continued to navigate the world as a Devil, dealing with supernatural threats, attending school, all while concealing his deepest emotions. Rias always seemed busy with one thing or another and he wanted to make it special. It was as if he held a precious gem within his heart, waiting for the perfect moment to reveal it.
During this time, he found himself stealing glances at her whenever the opportunity arose. Her grace and allure were as captivating as ever, and her smiles sent his heart racing. Yet, the fear of rejection remained a constant presence. What if she didn't share his feelings? What if their friendship was forever altered?
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the sky in shades of crimson, he found himself alone with her in the clubroom. It was a rare moment of solitude, an opportunity he couldn't afford to waste.
Rias, engrossed in a book about demonology, looked up from her reading as he cleared his throat, a hint of curiosity in her gaze. "Is something on your mind Issei?"
With a deep breath, his heart pounding, he knew this was the moment he had been waiting for. "There's something I need to tell you. Something I should have said a long time ago."
Her book closed, and she gave him her full attention, a mix of surprise and anticipation in her eyes.
"I… I love you," he confessed, the words hanging heavy in the air between them. "I've loved you for a long time now, and I can't keep it a secret any longer."
The room seemed to hold its breath as she absorbed his confession. Her expression softened, and a gentle smile tugged at the corners of her lips as her eyes began to water up.
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear those words," she replied, her voice warm and tender.
His heart soared, and he could hardly believe what he was hearing. It felt as if a tremendous weight had been lifted from him, replaced by an overwhelming sense of relief and joy.
Standing up, she approached him, her hand reaching out to gently cup his cheek. His breath caught as their lips met in a soft, sweet kiss, filled with promise and the unspoken depths of their feelings for each other.
Breaking the kiss, she smiled at him, her eyes filled with affection. "I love you too. I have for a very long time."
Tears of happiness welled up in his eyes as he held her close, all his doubts and insecurities fading into the background. Their love was a beacon of light, guiding them toward a future filled with boundless possibilities.
He hugged her tightly tears falling down her face. "I've changed a lot since I met you and I'll continue to change to be the man you deserve."
"I already love you," Rias said softly. "Even with your perverted antics."
Looking down, he felt embarrassed. His cheeks flushed as he asked, "Have you ever been disgusted by me?"
She blinked in surprise, her eyes searching his for any sign of doubt. "Why would you ask that?"
Hesitation gnawed at him as he traced patterns on her back. "I've often been… well, you know, a pervert. I've objectified you and others countless times. Did it ever make you uncomfortable?"
She smiled gently, cupping his cheek, her touch soothing. "You've always been yourself, and I've never once felt disgusted by you."
Relief washed over him, and he let out a sigh. "I've been worried that I crossed a line with my behavior. I've always been uncertain about how to interact with women. Sometimes I acted that way as a defense mechanism." He shifted where he stood and avoided her gaze. "I never knew how to talk to women outside of porn."
Caressing his cheek with her thumb, she reassured him, "I understand. We all have our flaws and insecurities. But you've grown so much as a person since we met, and you've always treated me with kindness and respect when it truly mattered. If you ever crossed a boundary, I would've told you."
Gratitude swelled within him, and he leaned in to plant a soft kiss on her forehead. "Thank you, you mean the world to me. I want to be the best person I can for you."
Her eyes filled with affection as she whispered, "You are the man I fell in love with."
His worries began to dissipate, and he realized he was finally letting go of the past. Their love was built on trust, understanding, and acceptance. It was a love that could withstand any storm, no matter how turbulent.
As the evening deepened, they decided to leave the clubroom, hand in hand. Strolling through the moonlit courtyard, they shared their hopes, dreams, and fears, baring their souls
