He was leaving… going to war… again.
Armies at our doorstep, the stone walls outside the castle reflected the fire raging outside.
I grab my armor, sword and arm protectors, a gift he had brought for me from one of his travels in case they were ever needed, he had taught me, trained me, I could help.
I walked through the immense corridors making my way to the stables, I needed to get to Ah-Uhn as fast as I could. The only fear I felt was not being able to stand by his side and shield him of all of those creatures trying to get to him.
-"Lady Rin! Where are you going!"- my handmaiden's voice echoed through the garden I was now crossing, I was only a few meters away from my objective. A solemn smile crept on my face and I turned to meet her.
-"To where I belong… by his side, my life is his"-
-"Take me with you please my lord, I am yours to do as you please! There Will never be anyone else but you!"-
I saddled Ah-Uhn, my own words ringing loudly inside my head.
-"I love you!"-
His golden eyes flooded my thoughts and I drew my sword and climbed Ah-Uhn's back riding him towards the fire where I knew he'd be… to battle.
It did not take me long to find him so I flew lower and jumped out of the dragon's back, my sword slicing flesh since the moment my feet touched the bloodstained soil. My chocolate eyes fixed on his back with a single goal: get to him, cover him, protect him. The monsters that once filled my nightmares posed no obstacle anymore.
I was just about to reach him, his back towards me since he's wielding Bakusaiga against an entire horde of enemies, just then I saw a snake youkai crawl behind him, aiming his large jaw at him at full speed… I did not hesitate a second, my body was within his and this lowly creature's fangs, one of them sank deep in my shoulder reaching all the way down my chest… I beheaded it with one sharp movement leaving only its head attached to my body.
-"Sess-"- blood spilled from my mouth and, when his gaze finally fell upon me, his golden eyes bled teal and red, his nostrils flared when he smelled my blood and his face shifted and contorted due to him phasing to his true form out of ire… it all went black for me with his deep growl and intimidating howl as company.
