"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Rona looks excited and yet for once somewhat content too, and Ryuu just watches the way the trees look around her, the almost bright pink of her hair with the reds, oranges, yellows, and browns behind her, highlighting her somehow.
"It's natural." Ryuu shrugs. Autumn happens. That's just what it does.
Rona frowned at him, looking all the bit upset with him like she does sometimes, like she is when she's completely unsatisfied with the answer he gave her.
"It's Tanbarun. You don't visit much." Rona points out, "Enjoy it."
"I'm a Clarinesian Court Pharmacist." Ryuu points out, letting his explanation come out as a sort of excuse.
"And I'm Tanbarun's princess." Rona points out, "And I'm excited."
"You're always excited." Ryuu added quickly.
And Rona twirls to a stop in front of him and stares him down, "My boyfriend comes to visit, and I'm excited." Deadpan.
"Shhh..." Ryuu's face turns red; he's half scared someone will overhear them though they are in the woods, and it's rare to see a threat. But either way, he doesn't want the word to get out that he's dating Tanbarun's princess, that could cause trouble, and besides, it's almost embarrassing to say that he's dating someone.
"We're in the woods, Ryuu." Rona shook her head, and her carefully managed curls bounced with the motion.
"And we'll have to go back to the castle soon enough before one of your brothers comes looking for us." Ryuu answers.
"Ah, Raji would understood." Rona retorts, "And Eugena's not that desperate to find me anyway."
"Did you tell him?" Ryuu asks.
"No, I told neither of them." Rona shrugs, and then bounds closer, and takes Ryuu's hand in hers.
"Not yet." Ryuu responds; he's not quite sure what princes will do to a commoner dating their sister, and he's not entirely ready to find out.
"It will come eventually." Rona shrugs, and before Ryuu can protest her nonchalance, she leans up on tiptoes and kisses him. He isn't that much taller than her really, but he is getting taller, sometimes it feels like it's by the day.
And when Ryuu goes to embrace her, Rona's already dropped down some, smiling.
"I don't want to be banished." His voice is far fainter than what he meant for, caught up as if stolen away by her kiss.
"You won't be." Rona's confident, "Relax."
And though it's hard to listen to that, he'll try his best to relax as she's asked him to.
