A cosy, comforting feeling wrapped around me, like a warm hug from my father.
I shut my eyes tight, unable to open them, and my arms and legs felt all strange like they didn't belong to me.
Then, out of nowhere, that comfy feeling turned into something seriously uncomfortable.
I tried to move my hand, but it felt stuck.
The discomfort got worse as I struggled with my arms and legs.
I had no idea where I was or what was going on.
I couldn't remember anything before this moment.
"Did those soldiers do something to me?"
That scary thought hit me first.
I kept on trying to break free from whatever was holding me.
Slowly but surely, I could feel the walls cracking and getting softer as I pushed against them.
Crack, Crack.
I was getting close,
I could feel it!
With one big push, the prison fell apart, and a bright light blinded me, making me yell in surprise.
"Chirp!"
Instead of a normal shout, it came out like a chicken's cluck. I was so shocked that my eyes popped open.
"?"
My eyes glanced at the prison that escaped from, a large Purple egg that looked to be the size of approx 1.5 feet which would be the size of a newborn baby.
I could feel my heart threatening to leap out of my chest as my gaze continued from the egg towards my 'hands' or to be more precise, my clawed limbs.
'What the f*ck?!' I yelled, but it merely came out as another Chirp of a chicken.
My limbs were covered in light purple scales with claws that appeared to be so sharp they could easily decapitate a person.
My tongue felt unfamiliar in my mouth, it seemed to be forked as I rolled it around only to feel a set of dangerously sharp teeth.
I unconsciously glanced back and almost fainted in shock, there at my back were a pair of small purple wings alongside a large tail that was easily half my length.
My breathing picked up as I quickly began to panic
"You finally came out!"
A child's voice caught my attention, and I turned to see a little kid, no older than 5 years, maybe even younger. She seemed to want to talk to me, with her shiny pink hair cascading down to her neck. She was wearing a black frock like those of people from the west
I tried to ignore her and surveyed my surroundings instead. The room had the grandeur of aristocracy, the kind only rich folks could afford. Golden walls with intricate red designs and patterns screamed royalty. It was becoming apparent that this girl was some sort of royal. I glanced down only to realize I was in a basket.
"Stop ignoring me!"
she pleaded, her eyes welling up with tears. I couldn't help but feel sorry for her; the look in her eyes hinted at a profound sense of loss.
This little runt. What's her problem? will she start to cry if I just ignore her?
I asked her to leave me alone.
"Chirp."
But what comes out of my mouth is only a chirp,
What's wrong with me?
Why my voice is like this?
She starts to smile stretched from ear to ear. Her voice brimmed with excitement as she exclaimed,
"HUHU! So, you finally asked my name! I am Milim! Milim Nava!"
"Chirp."
I didn't ask you your name though, Little Runt.
I didn't really want to talk, not after what had happened. So, I quietly slipped off the bed and shuffled toward the mirror.
In front of me stood a small lizard, its two tiny horns poking through its head, and two from its back golden eyes glistening, and purple scales shimmering, all perched on four tiny legs.
I couldn't believe it. I had become a lizard.
It felt like a punishment, maybe for annoying that neighbor's one-eyed dog.
A heavy sigh escaped my lips, and I couldn't help but think about my family.
My father would be lonely without me, and I hoped Erik wouldn't blame himself for this.
I can't help but cry,
Aahh!Control yourself! You can't cry in front of a kid!
Take a Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
Deep Breath in.
Deep Breath out.
Eh? Whose hand is this?!
"C-Chirp?"
I stammered in disbelief.
Two small hands gently picked me up.
"T-There! There, don't be sad. I-I am here, your F-Family! Tell me who made you sad! I will beat their butt!"
Runt, I have just popped out of an egg, who could make me sad?
Milim started to pat my head with her small, delicate hands.
It was clear that this was her first attempt at comforting someone, and I couldn't help but smile at her effort.
This Runt is not bad after all.
Strangely, She seems Lonely.
Damn...don't pat me like that...I am gonna cry...
As if triggered by that thought, tears began to well up in my eyes.
Before I knew it, they were streaming endlessly down my face.
My starts to vision blurred, and I slipped into a deep slumber, the emotional rollercoaster of the day finally taking its toll on me.
Ugh, I groaned, my eyes snapping open as a wet sensation on my face roused me from sleep.
Who in the world would dare to splash water on me?!
"Huh?"
I touched the water that was on my face.
Why does this feel so sticky, though?
As I tried to gather my thoughts, a soft, rhythmic snoring filled the air.
"Zzz... Zzz..."
Tch... this little rascal is drooling all over me.
I sighed in mild irritation and gently moved her aside, revealing a young girl sleeping soundly beside me.
"Hmmm...? You woke up, Gaia-chi."
Gaia? Is that my name now? I questioned silently, as I looked at her face, I couldn't help but remember yesterday, a sudden flush of embarrassment washing over me.
I hopped out of bed and started walking towards the window.
"Where are you Going Gaia-chi?"
"Chirp!"
To see where I am, you Dimwit!
I peered out the window, and a breathtaking sight greeted my eyes.
It was a kingdom, a realm of cobblestone houses,
a serpentine river, and a graceful stone bridge.
A steady stream of people bustled across that bridge, headed for what I suppose should be the marketplace.
The mere thought of the marketplace stirred unpleasant memories within me.
At the far end of this picturesque scene, mighty city walls encircled the kingdom, a formidable barrier adorned with guard towers and stout gates.
"Fufun! This is the Nasca Empire! Of course!"
She looked at me while looking Proud as if she had accomplished something. Heh...Childish
And how did you know that? I asked but of course, it was a
"Chirp?"
"T-The m-maids told me of course!"
It seems she can understand me, somehow...
'So, You are some kind of princess?'
"I...I don't know."
she murmured which was barely audible
Sniff
A slight tremor in her voice spoke volumes
"...I have been alone in this castle as long as I remember, I don't remember my parents the servants said they died in the hands of another nation"
Tears threaten to spill out from her eyes, She is doing her best to not spill those tears,
She was a resilient girl, stronger, stronger than me.
Did I make her cry, I couldn't help but mentally sigh.
I walked towards her, I put my tail up on her head gently patting her.
This is gonna be difficult, Let's Think of it as a repayment for what she did yesterday
'Don't cry...'
I whispered to her softly
'From this moment on, I want you to know that you have a family.
No matter what happens, whether the world turns its back on you, abandons you, or simply chooses to ignore you,
I'll steadfastly remain by your side.
Even if the entire world stands against you, rest assured that I'll be right there beside you, unwavering and with your back securely covered.
If you ever find yourself in need of me, remember that I'm here for you.
But even if you don't, please know that I'm still here
"...Why?"
she questioned, her eyes searching mine for answers.
I responded with a tender smile.
'You silly girl, because we are family from now on!
and family never leaves a family behind
"..Hmm..."
She gave me a gentle smile, tears still in her eyes.
I looked at her, I couldn't help but think she was truly beautiful at this moment.
