"Let's get this straight." Daniel said as we sat by the fireplace inside the Imagination Lodge. "They put their houses, and the Krusty Krab, on top of your house?"
"I've told them many times that it was a bad idea." I said.
"But, of course, you know how they are." added Squidward, who said alongside me and the other Imaginaries. "They wouldn't listen!"
SpongeBob and Patrick looked away sheepishly when they saw us staring at them.
"But, admittedly," I added, while giving them both a smile. "It was a starting point for the home project and this lodge."
"Aw, Nathan, you soft-serve." SpongeBob said, wrapping his arms around me.
"Hey, let me get in on this!" Patrick said as he squeezed me and SpongeBob.
While watching the tight embrace, Odette tried to hold her chuckle, which I did, nervously, while shrugging at her and Daniel.
"Well, thank heavens for little miracles." Silver said as he cleaned up the tables, where we previously sat for dinner. "Already been an hour and everything's still in one piece. But you know what'll make this a perfect night to remember?"
He looked up, giving Sandy the nod.
Sandy responded by giving him the thumbs up, then turned on the music* that filled the Imagination Lodge.
On hearing the music swell up, Daniel stood up, holding out his hand to Odette, whom he asked. "Shall we?"
"And have everybody stare at me?" Odette asked back. "I...I couldn't."
I looked at Odette, then at Daniel, then back to Odette, taking her hand, which I placed onto Daniel's.
Odette gazed up at Daniel, who led her to the center of the lobby, where they started to dance to the music.
Hardly noticing us watching them, Odette had her eyes focused on Daniel, who twirled her as they danced around the lobby, slowly coming to a halt in the center, staring at each other lovingly.
We leaned closer while SpongeBob and Patrick peeked through their covered eyes as Odette and Daniel leaned in as well.
But before they could kiss, a bright light covered the lobby...from outside the Imagination Lodge!
Author's Note:
*The music Sandy had turned on was actually the love song, "Beyond the Stars" from "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys."
