[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]
Jonathan sat down on his seat, facing the desk in front of him as a Beastman approached him with a minor stack of papers that reached her chest.
"Lord Jonathan, here are the papers that you need to manage."
"That's far lesser than what I expected they would be."
Honestly it had been a few months since Luca, their child was born to the world, and a few reports that were to be made by the mayors and Captains of his Kingdom later.
Right now he was going to fight his rival who will keep coming back over and over again until he dies.
Anyway, his kingdom's growth had began to accelerate at a pace that satisfied the Elfen King. He'd already created laws that suited the kingdom in order to balance out the corruption and crime that might appear inside it.
That's why he had already decided to also be an iron-fisted ruler, basically putting his strictness up to an 11 when in front of his subjects and the commoners that are inside it.
Checking the paperwork required him to be steadily fast and quick to observe the entire paper before putting it aside and signing some.
He finished in below 30 minutes, and decided to stand up and take a short break.
Later on, he decided to go and visit Chloe, who seemed to be on a trace as she was surrounded by several wisps of light as usual.
"Chloe."
She was unresponsive, to the point where Jonathan left her for a long moment, focusing on the people that were marching towards him.
Of course, one of them was Fred, the other was Haruki.
The three of them bowed towards him in respect.
"Your highness. There is something important we need to talk about."
"Then cut to the chase."
The twk of them began to report.
One of the reports stated that demons from the north, where there are many mountains surrounding the massive area had been gathering in their legions, and they were led by two "Demon Lords".
More information about them was gathered from the Imp Scouts, and only one of the two "Demon Lords" were only completely described before they were forced to flee.
Said Demon Lord was a tall, humanoid Demon, with a young woman's torso and a lower body of tentacles and eyes that allowed it to look like a lower part of a dress. Her other features include long fins for ears and alluring aura that made her feel otherworldly.
This was Fred's report.
Now on Haruki's turn, he decided to tell him about sightings of Demons north of their village, and once approached, said demons began to attack.
Not just that, but the demons were now beginning to attack villages stationed on the north.
"I see..."
He also considered striking first with the force of many, but he also considered finding out where they strike.
The nearest place they'll have to strike was also around Thorn, so he gained a new idea.
It was very simple.
Have the opposing demons focus their attacks on the larger fortresses of Thorn without them noticing, then begin trying to take over it as well. It wasn't easy to do, so there would be some major intervention coming from him soon.
Is it possible for the Fortress City of Feoh to be attacked, too? Then yes, that is possible.
Plus right now, the human forces wouldn't be the ones to be worried of. However they still have a chance of attacking the Kingdom any moment sooner or later.
So, he told them that there is a sign that the opposing demon army will soon attack, therefore they would need their forces to reinforce the villages on the north.
"We'll do as you command, your highness!"
Fred immediately marched out, while Haruki stayed for a moment.
"And what do you need, Haruki?"
"Umm... Goddess Celestine wants to talk to you."
Now, he was confused and curious.
"How, when, and where?"
Haruki sighed for a moment, before he took out a golden, palm sized emblem with a green jewel on the center of it and handed it over to Jonathan.
"Please insert your mana in it when you are outside, preferably at somewhere far enough, or else Lady Olga might notice. I will be leaving now, Your Highness. And before I forget, thank you once again for giving shelter to us humans!"
With a short bow, Haruki left to tend to his tasks.
If he really had given that, then he must have talked with Celestine earlier, or a few times in fact.
It left Jonathan confused for a moment as he observed the emblem before putting it inside his pocket.
Then an idea popped up in his mind.
'I suppose Dark Raven can also talk to her, but first things first. I'm curious of how my conversation with Celestine would look like...'
Having nothing to do, he opened a portal to the forest on the south, and proceeded to insert Psychic Energy to the emblem.
Which did provide an interesting result as it began to float towards the ground a few feet away from him.
And then, it opened up like a holographic pod, revealing a clear image of Goddess Celestine looking at him with a gentle smile.
"Oh my."
She definitely was alluring, alright. She even had that motherly aura coming off her. And due to that, he was a little perplexed.
Even a bit of an impulse of wanting to turn Celestine into his concubine was already growing inside of him.
Because, she definitely equalled Olga in beauty, dressing as skimpily as his wife.
Golden hair reaching down her knees, emerald green eyes and a feeling of maturity.
She looked like himself if he wasn't engulfed in the mercenary's work. Except him being female.
"Good morning, King of Discordia. I am Celestine Lucross, Goddess Reborn and High Queen of Eostia."
"It is a pleasure to meet you. And please, call me Jonathan Discordia."
It seems a long chatter will happen between rulers, and Celestine expected Jonathan to be the usual evil king.
Sadly, her doubts about him will become utterly wrong.
