Lily and Deidra took the floo to the ranch where they were met by Emily, Julia, Irene, and Wanda. Allen had given them permission to come over to help make Renee feel better.

Lily turned to Emily to get an explanation. Emily went over what happened the last couple of days. How it was discovered that Renee, Henry, and Heather were all under some sort of controlling potion and/or spell. All three were at the ranch, and were seeing a mind healer, but Renee only came out of her room to speak to the mind healer, and then she would go back in. One of the elves would make sure she had food.

When Deidra heard this, she immediately asked to be taken to Renee's room. Lily watched as Julia took Deidra to Renee's room.

Irene said, "I wish I could help her some more."

Lily said, "Just be there as her family, Irene. That's about all you can do."

Deidra came back after about ten minutes and said that Renee would like to talk to Lily alone. Deidra then went to the fireplace to floo call her father about maybe Renee coming over for a few days before going to find Allen.

Lily walked to Renee's room and knocked. "Enter!" Lily went inside.

Renee looked up and managed to smile at Lily before she closed the door. Renee looked like crap. Bags and dark shadows under her eyes, looked like a ghost, and possibly had lost a few pounds, which Lily knew she didn't really need as Renee was already skinny.

Lily sat down on the desk chair, and turned towards Renee who was propped up on her bed. They sat in silence for a few minutes as Renee seemed to be thinking on what to say.

Renee said, "Lily…I just wanted to say how sorry I am for how I have been acting since November. It wasn't until recently that I noticed that you weren't like the way my thoughts were telling me. I was raised better than that. To look at a person more for their potential rather than their blood-status. I ruined our friendship and family with my thoughts and actions. Can you ever forgive me?"

Lily leaned back in her chair. She now knew that it hadn't been the true Renee. She should have realized it right away after knowing the girl for three years, but how could she not know honestly that what she had been saying wasn't what she was thinking the whole time and was finally putting what she thought into words. Lily thought long and hard on what she should say. She had been hurt by Renee's words. "I appreciate your apology, Renee, but please understand that I am not ready to fully forgive you for what you have said and done since Christmas." Renee started to object, but Lily held up her hand. "I understand that you were not entirely you while saying and doing the things that you did. However, they were hurtful to me. Yes, nothing was physical, but the emotional aspect of it will take some time to heal."

Renee sighed and nodded her head in acceptance.

Lily said, "Now, what is this about staying shut in here?"

Renee mumbled something about not wanting to face her family after everything that has gone between them since Thanksgiving.

Lily replied, "Renee, I understand that, however, your family understands now that you were not you. Now that you have been purged from the potions, you need to let them help you heal and become yourself again."

Renee said, "I understand that, Lily. I still can't face them. Especially my parents. What I have put them through with my comments about Julia, Irene, and Wanda over Christmas. You weren't here, so you didn't see their faces or hear what I had said. I believe Wanda was affected the most and possibly even believed what was said by me."

Lily shook her head. Julia had told her the gist of what Renee had said over Christmas and that Wanda was somewhat affected, but she had said that Allen and Victoria had made sure to sit down with Wanda to let her know that what Renee had said was not true and that her and her sisters were very much considered family.

At that moment, a knock came at the door. Lily got up and looked out and saw that it was Deidra. Lily looked at Renee and told her who it was. Renee nodded her head.

Deidra came in and shut the door behind her. Deidra said, "Renee, I talked to my mom, dad, and your parents. If you two are up for it, Renee has permission to come back with us to Seattle for the remainder of Spring break. It will get her away from here for a bit, however, it still affects you two."

Lily started to respond, but Renee held up her hand. Renee said, "Deidra, I appreciate that you went and asked so that I have the option to get away, however, I think I will stay here. I will take Lily's suggestion and talk to my family about all that has happened since Thanksgiving and mend the fences there. We can mend fences with our friend group once we get back to school."

Deidra seemed to sigh in relief. She had wanted to do something for Renee, which was why she had thought of the idea, but she also didn't want the tension having her in their house with Lily if they hadn't fully fixed the bridge between them.

Deidra and Lily spent the rest of the day with the Murphy family. Deidra thought it was neat to see how a ranch looked. Emily, Renee, Julia, Irene, and Wanda gave her the grand tour. However, they could not coax her onto a horse. Everyone laughed when Deidra looked horror struck about riding on the back of one with only a saddle between her and the horse, yet she would ride a broom with no cushioning and go far above the ground. Deidra did the smart thing for a thirteen-year-old and stuck her tongue out at them.

Back in Seattle, Lily was in her room, writing in her journal thinking about what Renee had told her. Victor and Allen had pulled her aside and told her that the potions that Renee had been on were strong. The fact that she had been able to slightly overcome them was a good thing. They thanked her for bringing the issue to their attention. It was still to be seen whether Mrs. Ruttle was in on the plot or if she was potioned as well. It was hard to get her alone to talk to and or get tested. Lily didn't know what to think about all that had happened. She was glad that Renee was getting back to her old self, but Lily doubted that she could fully go back to being what they had before. She would wait and see how the rest of the school year played out.

The rest of spring break passed with fun between Lily, Deidra, and Andrea. They went to several sites. Andrea even took them on a day hike to the Olympic state park. However, before they knew it was time to go back to school.
