This is going to be a very questionable chapter. ENJOYYY!
"Nogitsune? What the hell is that? And she's going to kill him if it takes over? What the hell? He better not die. Surprisingly enough, I've grown fond of him," I thought to myself.
An hour later, a voice echoed in my head.
"I know a way to bring back your parents," the voice said. I scanned the room, but there was no one speaking to me.
"How?" I whispered.
"Oh, you'll just have to see."
"So... What would I need to do?"
"There's a basement. Stiles will be down there. All you have to do is kill him and the girl he'll be with. Only then will you get your reward," the voice instructed.
"And how do I know that this isn't like Pet Sematary?" I whispered, apprehensive.
"I can assure you it's nothing like that movie," the voice assured me.
Contemplating my past dream, I hesitated. Should I?
"I'm not doing that," I firmly replied.
The voice persisted, reminding me of cherished memories with my parents, trying to manipulate me into agreement.
"No," I asserted.
The voice continued its torment, dredging up every memory of my parents as if it had been stalking me my whole life. I fought against the urge to give in.
"I'm just going crazy. I'm hearing things. I have to be," I thought as I resolutely ignored the voice. Not long after, I heard Malia and Oliver arguing.
"You're lying. You're a liar!" Oliver's shout echoed through the room as he brought her to the ground.
"What the hell's going on?" Brunski, our caretaker, asked.
"You're lying!" Oliver persisted.
"Get this nut job off of me," Malia pleaded from beneath Oliver. Brunski intervened, and I noticed Oliver had seized Brunski's stun gun. Not wanting to be a snitch but understanding Oliver's tendencies, I decided to point it out.
"Oliver took something of yours, Brunski," I said, pointing to the stun gun and Haldol in his hand.
"You okay?" I heard Stiles ask Malia.
"Yeah," she replied.
"Oh, come on," the voice sneered menacingly. "Just do one little thing, and you can have your parents back," it urged, conjuring a vivid hallucination of my parents standing hand in hand before me. I closed my eyes and reopened them, hoping the illusion would vanish.
"I won't do it. I won't kill them," I whispered.
"Oh, you will," the voice insisted. As it spoke, the illusion of my parents became more tangible. They drew nearer, brandishing a gun. They pulled the trigger, and two bullets pierced my skin.
"Stop doing this, please," I begged. Suddenly, my parents vanished, replaced by Stiles, who appeared even more sleep-deprived, inches from my face. Yet, there was a sinister look in his eyes. Oddly, nobody else in the room seemed to notice him.
"Leave me alone," I pleaded, avoiding eye contact.
"Not until you agree to the deal. I'll bring your parents back, and you kill Stiles and his girlfriend," the voice persisted.
"Fine, just leave me alone, please," I relented, overwhelmed by the torment and hallucinations.
I began to walk aimlessly away from my corner, blending in with the others. Eventually, I reached the basement, descending the stairs while an image of my parents lingered in my thoughts.
At the bottom of the stairs, I spotted Stiles, peering into a hole in the wall.
"Stiles," I called out slowly, and he turned, clearly surprised to see me.
"It... he is getting in my head. Look, you hardly know me, but trust me. So, please find what you need and leave," I pleaded, my voice shaky. Memories and nightmares flooded my mind, accompanied by haunting images of my parents. My whole body tensed up, and overwhelmed by fear, I let out a scream that felt oddly loud. My mind grew too fatigued and overwhelmed, and I passed out.
