A/N For anyone wondering about timelines, this expedition left Earth after the Ori had been defeated. General O'Neill remained in charge of Stargate Command and General Hammond is still head of Homeworld Security. Following the defeat of the Ori, Sam spent some time in Neveda. Janet is still alive. Though it won't be referred to in the story, Xander was on that mission where she died in canon. His hearing allowed him to hear the staff blast and push her out of the way. Don't you hate when behind the scenes decisions change good things about your favorite shows? I do.

"So now you're the one trying to one-up us." Xander commented once they were back on Earth and being brought up to date on what they'd missed while out of touch in Pegasus. "You had your own time travel adventure and got trapped in the past and your trapped counterparts hid a ZPM for you, too."
"If that video tape we found is any indication. Although Carter is fussing over the fact that other me claims there's no fish in my pond, but there are since I had it stocked a couple of years ago. Apparently, he didn't. She says it's proof that time has been affected by us going back. I say, there's nothing we can do about it, so why fuss? And who knows what kind of changes your counterparts made. For all we know, the Wraith could have been ruling multiple galaxies by now if your counterparts hadn't started a war against them. It's not worth worrying about."
"I agree, but then we're not scientists, we're soldiers. Things are more black and white for us, then they are for them. So, have you come up with a cover story for us yet? And what about Faith?"
"Yeah, it's a believable one this time, as well, especially given the amount of time you've been gone. We're going to say, you were actually pregnant with twins, you miscarried one in the accident. You didn't know until you got there and were cut off from civilization and had no access to modern medicine. The baby got sick and before contact could be reestablished at the prearranged time for a plane to land supplies, the baby died. You came back on the supply plane to bury her in your hometown, before returning to your mission."
"So will we be returning to the mission? With the Wraith and all?"
"It's likely. Once all the debriefings have been done. You guys have done a great job under difficult circumstances and even given the situation with the Wraith, there's still a lot more to learn. And as for your friend Faith, on both yours and my recommendation, she's been approved for limited knowledge of the Program. You can tell her about the 'gate, about the Ancients, your time travel adventure and everything related to it, including you other child and did I thank for naming your kid for me? Thanks, and where you've been for the last nine months. Nothing about the Goa'uld, the Ori or any specifics of missions."
"It's more then I thought we'd get to tell her, so thanks, Jack and of course I'm going to name my kid for you. You and Giles. Both of you changed mine and Cordy's lives. For the better. But I'm pulling for the next one to be named for Daniel and Teal'C. I'm hoping, if there is a next one, that it's a boy. But a girl would be great too, Joyce deserves to have a name sake. Anyway, we should get going, the girls should be ready by now and we've got a plane to catch."
"Right there with you, kid. And AG 1 should be ready, too. Not to mention, Janet and Cassie. Let's get this caravan moving." Jack said, trying to keep Xander's spirits up. He knew from personal experience, how hard the next few days were going to be. This Xander and Cordelia were not the ones who made and bore this little girl, but she was still their daughter and they had loved her from the moment they knew she existed and would mourn her for the rest of their lives, along with the unknown child they'd already lost.
Once the plane set down in Sunnydale, the group checked into the Sunnydale Arms and Xander and Cordelia went to find the gang. They'd called ahead and asked them to meet them at Joyce's. The news that they'd brought a child home with them to bury was not something that could be told over the phone.
"You had a baby and didn't tell us?!" Willow screeched.
"We couldn't tell you, Willow. We had no communication with the outside world until the supply plane returned. By then, it didn't matter. She got sick and without modern medicine, she died. That's why we're here now, we came back on the plane to bury her next to Jesse."
"Her? You had a daughter? What's her name?" Faith asked.
"Kendra Faith Chase Harris." Cordelia told them.
"You named your baby for Faith?! Not me or Buffy?!" Again Willow was screeching.
"She's my best friend, Willow. And Kendra deserves to be honored. What we name our child, is our choice, not yours. I suggest you remember that." Cordelia said, frostily.
"Xander?" Willow beseeched him.
"I suggested Kendra and Cordy wanted Faith in there. It's a beautiful name, for a beautiful girl, who will never get to grow up. Either of them. I suggest you try growing up, Willow. You don't get what you want, just because you want it. Now, tomorrow is her memorial service. My team and my mentor, Jack's team, will all be there. I'd like it, if you could be there too. But not if you can't avoid acting like a spoiled child."
Both Willow and Buffy glared at him, but he was clearly unfazed by their annoyance.
"I agree. Calm down, Willow." Her girlfriend, Tara said. "Think about the baby and how best to honor her."
They reluctantly agreed to behave themselves. 'Well, hope springs eternal. Jack may be right about clinches being annoying.' Xander thought.
