Chapter 14 All Hell Breaks Loose!
As the ship along with Ivan Ooze explodes, Zondar, Amelia, and Zordon all jump free just seconds before the explosion, however the blast through them each in separate directions. Amelia fell into a large group of trees allowing her to use her natural nature abilities she used the branches to slow herself down enough she could pull off an excellent superhero pose, shortly after her landing she heard a loud thud hit the ground and knew instantly who had landed, standing up she took off running in the direction of the noise she heard. As she was running toward the first noise she heard another noise off further in the same direction.
Meanwhile, as Zondar fell from the explosion, quickly thinking to use his control over the shadows he quickly noticed a giant shaded area to shift into, allowing him to slow down and land into his superhero landing. Hearing a noise off in the distance behind him seconds later he heard footsteps approaching in front of him, hoping they weren't enemies advancing toward him. Shifting his feet just slightly readying himself if the noise wasn't friendly.
Off in the distance from his allies, Zordon used the thrusters in his suit to slow himself down overloading them he was soon falling from a much higher distance than he expected, using his connection to the morphing grid he was able to teleport but not without making a loud crash noise leveling a large amount of trees. As he adjusted himself making sure he was still whole. He heard shouting off in the distance Fearing one of his children where in trouble he quickly ran off toward the shouting.
Zondar was still hearing the footsteps approaching him only to shout "Announce yourself before I assume you are a foe." after a few moments he saw his cousin step out into the clearing. Amelia spoke "Well don't shoot I just got to know you." putting her hands up mockingly.
" I wasn't sure if it was one of us or something else," Zondar replied.
"I'm glad the two of you are okay." they heard just before Zordon appeared from another side of the clearing where Zondar and Amelia were standing.
The trio took a moment to regroup and plan out what to do about Zordetta's attack, Zordon scanned the area, finding the fastest route to his chosen earthlings. The trio quickly ran in the direction of their teammates. As they ran toward the edge of the woods surrounding the park, Zondar noticed the rangers fighting Goldar and a large group of tengu warriors, just moments later they broke through to the park they watched as the rangers all hit the ground after a blast that came from the left of the battle. They quickly ran to aid their earthling family.
Zordon blasted the group of tengu warriors creeping in Tommy and Jason's direction, as Amelia used her power to re-energize the ten of them by sending the power of light, meanwhile Zondar stayed back in the shadows as Amelia's light weakened his powers a little bit. After the light died down the thirteen regrouped in the middle of the battlefield while their enemies surrounded them
"Suprised to see me walking around there sister?" Zordon asked
"More like a disappointed brother, why don't you just surrender now and save me the trouble of destroying your precious power pukes." Zordetta spat back.
" If you want them, Mother, you'll have to go through us," Zondar shouted as he stepped from behind the group.
Amelia turned her attention toward her aunt as she made her presence known as she stepped closer to her father dropping into a fighting stance and flashing a smile in her aunt's direction. The rangers turned to find the remaining Tengu warriors advanced closer followed closely by Goldar.
Taking no time they all attacked as eight of them formed a wall-like offense allowing Jason and Tommy time to jump into a leaping double kick, forcing Goldar to stumble back only falling to a knee as the other rangers quickly took out the feathered foes. Goldar noticing he was now outnumbered took this time to regroup with his master. The Rangers then join the Eltarian trio.
"You want to destroy us? Well, I'd love to see you try if that brainless golden monkey is the only ally that you have left." Tommy said in a sarcastic tone.
Wasting no time Zordetta raised her weapon to fire for it to be shot out of her hand, glaring up she found the pink ranger upon a limb above everyone.
"She was just standing with the others how did she get in the tree so fast." Zordetta thought.
Goldar moved to pick up the weapon when the ground shook, causing Goldar to tumble over. Glancing in the direction of the rangers Zordetta noticed Aisha and Rocky both pounding the ground causing a quake. Tiring off and with a wave of her hands she knocked down the team all at once she then grabbed her quarterstaff and leaped into battle striking at Zordon which he blocked just moments before she struck his glass dome. Leaning in with all her might Zordetta couldn't overpower her brother. The two remained locked in the strength contest until Zordon shifted his only to be kicked in his midsection causing him to stumble, she then kicked him in the shoulder knocking him to the ground.
Goldar and the rangers start stirring as Amelia and Zondar stand the two share a look, then the two grab each other's hand then they begin to glow as quickly as the glow started the rangers began to shine (instantly donning their new metallic armor) feeling completely powered up and re-energized. Jumping into action Tommy kicked Zordetta away from Zordon and then helped their mentor to his feet. In a flash, Zordon joined Amelia, and Zondar the three together multiplied the ranger's powers.
Zordetta gathered her power in preparation to blast the three however it was deflected away connecting with Goldar's chest causing the golden ape to burst into flames. As the ranges stood in the middle of the battlefield stunned that one of their longtime antagonists was gone, moments later they seen a pile of ashes. Zordetta used this time to return to the Lunar palace in hopes of using another spell or monster from the artifact she acquired. Summoning the rope of envy, and the mirror of regret, Created two monsters and returned to the park. As she landed she ordered both monsters to attack as they moved in the direction of the rangers in a crossing pattern bumping into their stress they caused Zordetta to drop the mirror and the rope when the two touched the reaction was another monster, the Hategret-mirror. Taking the lead of his companions the monster led them to attack the rangers, who were still standing in a daze.
Rocky, Adam, and Angela noticed the returning monsters from their past quickly jumping into action, Adam leaped into the air performing a spining heal kick to the slippery shark. Following his best friend since preschool Rocky flipped toward Goofish. Angela followed them running straight towards Hategret-mirror, while she was running she happened to glance in the mirror she saw a flash. Closing her eyes and ducking away from everything.
Rocky landed a double back kick knocking the goldfish down. Breaking from their shock and confusion the rangers leaped into action at the sight of one of their cowering away from the new monster. Tommy and Jason both leaped toward the same monster quietly. The monster searched for more rangers as it turned around looking behind itself only to meet with two feet before anything else could happen causing the monster to lose its balance and fall to the ground. They were quickly joined by the rest of the rangers as Rocky and Adam guided Angela who still wouldn't open her eyes sensing something she couldn't explain as she grew closer to her animal spirit warning her not to open her eyes,
Regrouping they send Angela back to the command center the remaining rangers summoned the power canon to blast the three. Hategret mirror, quickly dove out of the way as they fired the power canon, destroying the goofish, and slippery shark.
Meanwhile in the command center
Alpha was building a device to bind Zordetta when Angela landed.
"Aye yi yi yi, Angela what are you doing back here?" the small robot asked.
"Alpha I don't want to open my eyes, and my spirit animal is insisting that I don't" Angela stated quickly causing Alpha to grab the molecular scanner, then quickly scan the girl.
"It appears as if you suffering from great envy and regret," Alpha said as he read from the scanner's report.
"How do I fix it?" she asked freaking out
"I would need to run some tests to be sure, I may be able to create an antidote to give you back your sight without the worry of the spell affecting you," Alpha stated.
"What if you can't create the antidote before the monster flashes another ranger or worse all of them?" Angela asked
"Let's not think like that right now," Alpha said as he quickly threw together some liquids to warm and create a vapor to flush out her eyes.
"When I tell you to remove your helmet and open your eyes," Alpha instructed.
Following her instructions as Alpha told her it was time she removed her helmet and then opened her eyes to see the room full of a vapor cloud causing them to flood with tears as they streaked her face, she let the feeling lighten up. the more tears flowed the less she was affected by the spell.
Once she wasn't affected by the spell anymore she rejoined her friends in their battle with Hategret- mirror. Angela arrives landing her tortoise spirit animal attack (Giant silver tortiose rushes the monster flipping at the last second to land shell first.)
Zordetta leaped into battle knocking the rangers down, only to watch as each flashed their color just before flipping back to their feet.
"Come on your skullbots hit harder than that." Tommy quipped
"You believe I fear any of you?" Zordetta scoffed.
"I wasn't counting on it my team and I could use the exercise." Tommy spat back.
The two sides charged Tommy, Kimberly, Jason, Trini, and Adam charged after Zordetta as Zack, Aisha, Angela, Rocky, and Billy charged toward Hategret-mirror. Surrounding their enemy effectively separating the two.
The battle turned quickly in the Ranger's favor. Tommy and Kimberly used their combined laser power attack (only more powerful due to being morphed) catching Zordetta off guard as Adam vanished underground only to pop up on each side of Zordetta and then perform a double spin kick connecting with her mid-section. As she was stumbling backward Jason attacked with his power staff performing two slashes across her chest as she backpedaled Trini launched into the air bringing down her scimitar and forcing Zordetta into a tree.
With the five rangers taking control their compadres were spending more time dodging the flashes coming from Hategret-mirror. Rocky was getting tired of playing the worst round of dodgeball ever he flipped his way over to Zack, and the two quickly made a plan of attack, Almost as fate itself designed it the monster turned toward Billy, Aisha, and Angela allowing Rocky and Zack to get into position.
Just before Hategret-mirror could flash at the other rangers the green and red rangers charged with Rocky going low to tackle as Zack went high with a spinning corkscrew kick. Zack landed first knocking the monster right in Rocky's path as he connected directly to its midsection forcing it to the ground. The group of ten soon regrouped to summon the Ultra power canon, quickly loading each colored charge they aimed but just before they fired the monster disappeared in a flash only to reappear around Zordetta who was bathed in a bright light leaving the monster all alone, They fired the Ultra power canon which connected with the monster blowing it away.
Meanwhile inside the bright light
Zordetta is on her knees surrounded by the only family she has left looking down at her she sees disappointment, betrayal, and love written all over their faces. Looking back they each saw something different. Amelia saw sorrow, and Zondar saw regret, as Zordon stared down at his twin sister he knew she felt ashamed of her actions.
For the first time in a millennia, he felt their bond reform as she reached out to his mind.
"Brother there is no way I can repay what I have taken from you, or what I have done to our family. I only ask that if you must destroy me allow me to say goodbye to my son first." Zordetta sends through their telepathic link.
"Sister there is always room for redemption you just need to agree to take that path," Zordon replied with hope in his voice.
"Mother you were taken away when I was just a boy you missed so much because of the spell father had over you. I never wanted to fight against you, but when I morphed for the first time I knew there would be no way of hiding from either of you without help." Zondar started explaining before he broke down into tears.
"I was with you through all of your triumphs over various worlds and galaxies and they allowed me to walk the path toward redemption." Amelia sent through the link as well.
"You were under my spell child I made you do all those terrible things. I shunned away my son, I destroyed my home not to mention countless others." Zordetta replied before she went quiet.
"Do you feel remorseful for your actions against our family dear sister?" Zordon asked.
" Yes, dear brother, all of my actions committed here and back home?" She replied with her emotions slipping through in her voice.
"It is easy to see that she had great remorse, and you are redeemable I never had a doubt sweet sister, it was the look in your eyes I could tell it was your body but you werencontrollinging it ever since you handed Ivan the power sphere. " Zordon said.
"How would I begin to make amends with the ones I have hurt?" Zordetta questioned.
"There are no amends to be made Zordetta, your family and I already know you will join the fight against the dark forces using the light of goodness I have always seen in you," Zordon explained as the light around them began to pulse as the four of them spoke then flashed four different colors, Green, Black, Red, then White. the light died down to reveal four Eltarian rangers.
"Just as you were meant to be sister the Green Eltarian power sphere is yours to command,"Zordon said.
"Do you know why Mother would leave in a hurry without a reason?" Zordetta asked.
"Mother has always been mysterious in her visits however I was able to read her while she had me trapped," Zordon explained.
"What did you gather from her mind?" Zordetta asked.
"She will be returning to finish after you fail for the last time," he informed his sister.
"We need to regroup and plan a counter-strike against her," Zordetta said. As they are joined by the other ten members of the group.
"Is that the end have we finally defeated evil?" Angela asked
"I wish it were that simple my children, no someone even more powerful is returning to Earth as we speak," Zordon explained that a very large spacecraft entered the Earth's atmosphere.
"Looks like they aren't wasting time on attacking," Kimberly said as hordes and hordes of improved skullbots were approaching their location.
"You guys know what to do. we are the last line of defense." Tommy said.
"I'll follow your lead bro, anytime," Jason said as everybody else simply shifted into a battle stance.
The Eltarians joined beside them to battle against the large threat. Giving the group a calming blanket knowing this time they were fighting with their family that just grew by four.
The hordes finally stopped as a lone figure landed gracefully between the rangers and skullbots.
"Earthlings step aside and allow me to deal with my children," Zandra suggested harshly.
"You want them? you'll need to go through us," Adam said as the rangers affirmed their stance with only a gesture of her battle staff the hordes charged.
Bodies were flying in every direction the battle flying in every direction the battle lasted what felt like days. every time they would destroy a skullbot more would appear. Amelia was assisted by Rocky and Aisha combining all three earth attacks which knocked out a third of the skullbots approaching from their left. Following their teammate's lead Adam, Billy, and Zordon combine a water attack eliminating a third of the skullbots approaching from their right. One last combined attack from Kimberly, Tommy, and Zordetta the group of skullbots approaching in front of them was cut down with a burst of winds.
Zondar and the remaining four rangers charged what was still standing in front of them, as the five cut through their enemies quickly without much fight from evil pawns. Zordon, Zordetta, and Tommy approached Zandra only to find her surrendering.
Which proved to be a wise choice as Zandra charged her grandson aiming for his midsection. Reacting quickly Zondar dove over her attack rolling through the dive he landed on bended knee facing his grandmother.
Tommy flew at the new enemy with a leaping jumpkick catching Zandra in her shoulder and knocking her away from Zordon as she was charging him.
Landing roughly on her left side Zandra looked up to notice where every enemy of hers was taking a few minutes deciding who her next target would be as she launched toward Billy she was intercepted by Zack who landed a Tornado spin kick.
As Zandra regathered herself the rangers regrouped with Billy who quickly called for the superpower cannon as a threat to force her to retreat Zordon and the other Eltarian rangers looked on in discomfort Zordon wanted to give her the Eltarian judgment for the crimes committed on his home planet.
Noticing their mentor's reaction Tommy stopped before placing his energy into the superpower cannon.
"Guys we need to attempt to force her to stand trial," Tommy said
Zandra returned to her feet and then turned to see the superpower cannon aimed at her. Reacting immediately she built up energy for an energy ball to match the power of the Rangers' blast.
Zordon quickly joined his rangers knowing his mother wouldn't willingly stand trial knowing what she was planning to blast his chosen heroes. Motioning for the other Eltarian rangers to follow him. Joining the earth rangers adding their charge to the cannon by simply touching the device.
Giving the signal Zordon was okay with what needed to be done Zordetta nodded her agreement as tears streaked down her face inside her helmet. Tommy did what he had done multiple times before to protect the planet.
"Zandra we beg you to stand down we offer a fair and just trial." He said calmly.
"You wish for me to surrender to the likes of you, you're surrounded by traitors and you dare judge and you dare judge me!" Zandra snapped back.
"Mom please don't force us to do this?" Zordetta cried out
"You're pleading with me after you brought me here to destroy your brother and now after you betrayed your husband you joined your brother instead, The two of you are just like your father dead to me!" Zandra snarled back.
She then dug her feet into the ground before shifting her arms readying her blast.
"Fire" Tommy ordered just before they saw Zandra shift her posture. They fired the superpower cannon mere seconds before Zandra through the energy blast. The two blasts collided causing an explosion.
The rangers were all thrown back from the blast all demorphing, as for Zandra all that was left was a pile of ashes.
The fourteen heroes slowly gathered around Zordetta who had been crying the entire time. All of them consoled their grief-stricken teammates. hours passed as the team sat there confirming they would get through anything together. As the sun set they finally returned to their feet slowly walking away from the battlefield. No sound was made as they teleported to the command center.
"Rangers you are now free from the obligation to protect the earth, The choice is yours you can choose to keep the power or you can return it and live normal lives," Zordon said.
"You can not expect us to sit out of the fight if the earth falls under attack." Tommy said as every other person nodded their agreement."
