Caedes of Kenobi

He felt something, a disturbance in the force. He wasn't sure what to expect, perhaps another team of Jedi bent on killing him. No, he wouldn't be stopped now. Looking up from his desk as the sound of a lightsaber flashes and his two Red Guards brutally eviscerated and fell to the floor. The familiar face of Jedi General Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Sideous had been expecting Yoda or perhaps Plo Koon. The sight of Obi-Wan almost brought an immediate grin to Sideous's face.

"Hello there." Obi-wan greets the newly ordained Emperor. "I've come to file a complaint." Obi-wan says, showing an outward confidence and sass.

"Master Kenobi, you survived. And now, you come to kill me?" Sideous asks, a growing smile creasing his lips, standing from his seat.

"As I told you before, Darth Sideous, Sith Lords are our specialty." Obi-Wan says, falling back into his classic Sorensu form. His stance remains strong as Sideous cackles with laughter and dismisses his right hand who silently leaves from another doorway.

"Well then, let us see if you can do what Master Windu could not." Sideous cackles. Obi-Wan feels a sudden pressure all around him as the lights seem to dim and furniture shakes. Sideous leaps towards Obi-Wan, brandishing his second lightsaber in a flurry. The first has yet to be recovered since it was thrown out the window.

Obi-Wan can immediately see the similarities between Sideous and Maul's brutal style. Meant to overpower and backed by the most powerful force aura Obi-Wan has ever felt. Though far more disciplined and practiced; a single mistake would end his life and it almost felt like he was fighting in the dark.

"You couldn't save your master. You couldn't save your padawan. You can't save the Republic" Sideous snarls, lunging towards Obi-Wan in a brief moment, piercing his Sorensu guard and glazing his left arm with the searing red blade. "And you can't save yourself" Sideous whispers, locking lightsabers with Obi-Wan and pressing into the barely glazed arm. Obi-Wan forcibly grunts and pushes back.

"No matter what you say, I'm not giving up." Obi-Wan says, locking eyes with Sideous. "The Light Side of the Force is stronger than you think. Only the weak need fear and betrayal to win. So even if you win here, today. It's not because I was weak, Chancellor. You were." Obi-Wan states, standing tall and returning to his stance. Obi-Wan shifts positions to Anakin's favored form, Ataryu, his left following a soft step back as his stance narrows.

Sideous roars and lunges, his blow deftly parried by Obi-Wan who parries and runs his lightsaber down the blade, searing the pommel and cutting Sideous's lightsaber in two. Sideous drops the saber as Obi-Wan holds his out in apparent victory, that is short-lived.

The next instance is one of mind-numbing pain Obi-Wan has never felt before. The sudden burst of lightning is far more powerful, sudden and draining than anything Dooku has mustered. Obi-Wan feels his back hit the wall as he falls forward and lands on his knees, spitting blood to the ground. His vision blurred, he hears Sideous's voice, though it appears muted.

"Is this the last the Jedi have to challenge me?" Sideous's voice cackles as Obi-Wan hears a lightsaber ignite. He blindly reaches out to feel for his lightsaber, but he can't see it. Crawling towards the left, Obi-Wan thinks he sees it. Then the flash and searing pain as a blue blade cuts its way through Obi-Wan's left arm. The Jedi reeling back in agony as Sideous' voice just cackles in continuous laughter. Obi-Wan doesn't have time to open his eyes before another jolt of lightning is coursing through his body. Sideous can't be sure when Obi-Wan lost consciousness, the insidious laughter had long drowned out the cries and become the only sound in the room. Sideous stops and sighs contently, beckoning his aide back into the room.

"Call an Emergency Session of the Senate in 7 Days. Allow for as many Senators to return as possible. The War is Over." Sideous says, a dark smile creeping on his face.

"Yes, Emperor." He replies, bows and leaves without another word. Sideous now standing alone in his office with the body of the failed jedi hero.

"Alas, Jedi. I do not think the Light Side is as strong as you believe it is. The time of the Jedi is over, at last." He says, looking past Obi-Wan and returning to his desk and activating a communicator.

A moment of silence then Sideous hears the familiar sound of Vader's voice. "Yes, my Master."

"Lord Vader, once you arrive on Mustafar, you will execute the Separatist leaders. Then you will begin hunting down any remaining Jedi. Another one just came for me." Sideous declares.

"As you say, my Master. I will contact you once I have… dealt with them." Vader replies. The comlink clicking off leaving Vader flying alone in his ship. The familiar dome of R2-D2 just ahead of his pilot's hole, rotating back at him and cooing in confusion.

[Are you sure this is safe?] The text washes over his pilot's dashboard, the beeps lost to the noise of hyperspeed.

"Yes, R2. We're going to Mustafar to end this war once and for all. The corruption of the Jedi, the Separatists? All of it, we've got to stop it. Are you with me?" Vader asks of his droid, still sounding like his old self in the isolation with his droid. The new reality not yet set in on what it meant. He knew he was stronger than Sideous, he was stronger than any of the Jedi. He knew it and he knew when the time was right, he would be able to overthrow Sideous and rule the galaxy. He knew it.

All he had to do was go to Mustafar and execute the Separatist leaders. They had led the Galaxy in a civil war for years, they deserved no pity. Just the thought of the horrors they wrought is enough to make Vader seethe in his seat, oh, he was going to execute them all right. Then he would deal with anyone else who got in his way.
