Chapter 29: The Ninja Tribunal, Part 3
*Main theme*
In the throne room of the Tribunal, Chase, his family, and Tempest stood at attention as Kon approached them with a stern look on his face. He was quite furious of the six for disobeying the rules of the arena.
"How dare you six defile the purity of the arena!" Kon said severely and sternly as he turned his attention to Tempest. "Tempest, your time with the Storm King has poisoned you since you lost your horn!" He turns to Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio. "And you, newcomers! You five deserve no mercy! I should toss all into the jaws of the desert!" He then relaxes a bit before he turns attention to Tempest. "However, Tempest, your months of service as our spy in Equestria have earned you a chance to redeem yourself."
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio turned to Tempest with surprised looks upon hearing that she had been a spy.
"But only this once!" Kon said sternly before turning around and walking away back to his throne.
"A spy?" Chase asked Tempest curiously.
"Just be quiet. I'll tell you guys later." Tempest replied back in a hush tone.
"There is a nest of Dragonquins not too far from here. They have been harassing our artifact carriers for sometime. I want you all to go into the heart of the nest and take out all the three beasts you find inside." Kon instructed firmly before he smirked. "I'd say good luck, but then luck won't help you."
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, and Tempest bowed their heads in reply before they went off to get the job done.
It was then that Bagheera came into the scene as he stood in front of Chase while the rest went on.
"You doing okay, Chase?" Bagheera asked with concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Chase replied back to the black panther cub. "We need you to stay here with your friends."
"But I wanna help." Bagheera pleaded in protest.
Chase stared at the cub with sympathy and understanding before he sighed.
"I know, but this is a dangerous mission. This is something my family and Tempest have to do alone." Chase said as he went off to catch up with the others. "We'll be back soon. I promise."
Bagheera watched Chase running off to catch up with his family and Tempest before he sighed to himself.
"Yeah. Dangerous missions." Bagheera said sadly before sulking off somewhere else.
(Scene changes)
In the desert, Chase, his family, and Tempest were running across the landscape to find the Dragonquin nest that Kon had instructed them to search so they could find the creatures.
Once they came upon a small creek, they found the entrance of a cave that might be the way in.
"There it is, guys. We made it." Jade said to her team as they gazed at the entrance.
"So that's the way into the nest, isn't it?" Chase asked curiously.
"Yup." Tempest confirmed the Elite Ninja. "That cave holds the most dangerous Quinkan monsters ever. Probably where Wuya is hiding with them."
Hearing this gained the surprised attention of Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio.
"What?!" Sunray asked in shock. "Wuya?! She's survived that fall from the bridge fight we had with her?!"
"Man it's hard to get rid of that mutated unicorn witch." Trini said in exasperation.
"We can't worry about that right now. We have to get inside and take out the Dragonquins." Chase said with determination as he glared at the entrance. "Let's go, guys."
With that said, the six ran to the entrance and went inside to find the heart of the nest.
(Scene changes)
No sooner or later, the team made it inside and were walking through the tunnel while finding the creatures' nest. While walking down the tunnel, they were keeping their eyes out for any sign of the Quinkan.
While walking down the tunnel, Chase sees a skeleton of a winged Dinoquin that looked like the shape of a pterosaur and with a long tail.
"What are we doing here anyway, Chase? This place gives me the creeps." Antonio said with a slight shiver.
Chase just gave him a blunt look before the group continued onward. While they were walking down the tunnel, Jade had a thought on her mind as she looked at Tempest.
"So how long have you been here, Tempest?" Jade asked the broken horned unicorn mare as she turned to her. "You said you were gonna spread the word of the Storm King's defeat."
Tempest looked at her for a moment before she sighed.
"Well, yeah. I did spread the rumors around the world of his defeat, but then I came over here since I heard of the Quinkan rising again." Tempest replied back. "I was training from Kon's ways as well as figuring out a way to control my horn's unstable magic with much concentration I lacked from losing it after I came into contact with that Ursa Minor."
"So how long have you been out here?" Sunray asked, hearing the conversation the two girls were having.
"About two months to say the least." Tempest replied back. "I honestly wasn't expecting to see you guys here. What happened to you?"
Chase sighed while thinking about the rest of his family and friends back in Ponyville.
"We got framed by Wuya and this new enemy I had a little history with named Dark Chase. They created clones of my team members as well." Chase said while keeping his focus on the goal they had to get done with. "The EEA just banished us here, thinking we're the ones responsible for the stuff those clones did. Now we're the 'most wanted criminals' Equestria thinks now thanks to Chancellor Neighsay."
Then something caught Antonio's attention.
"Hey, guys, look! I think this is it." Antonio said as they entered the nest that had a lot of roots growing upward toward the rocky ceiling, a few lava pools as well, and some egg sacs dangling upside down from the walls.
The group made their way down the slope and stopped in the center while looking around for any sign of the Quinkan beasts.
"So this must be the Dragonquin nest Kon told us about." Trini said as she and the others looked around the place in awe.
Shaking the amazed look off his face, Chase knew they had some work to do and they needed to get it done.
"Okay, we better take these eggs out before they grow into a huge addition to the army." Chase instructed his family and Tempest. "If we get spotted by the adults, we better close off the entrance as well."
"Right." The five ponies replied back to the alicorn master in agreement.
But just as they were about to burn the egg sacs, a growl was heard somewhere in the nest as the six froze in place. They looked around for any sign of Quinkan beasts around while keeping their guard up.
As Chase turned his eyes around the nest searching for any signs of the monsters with some sweat dripping from his face, he failed to see some glowing red eyes emerge in the shadows behind him.
Suddenly, some growling was heard behind Chase, making him stop from where he was standing and slowly turned his head slightly to his right, spotting the red eyes in the corner of the shadows.
Then the figure shot a fire ball at Chase, but he immediately ducked down to avoid the attack as well as his family and Tempest while they yelped in surprise as it hit the wall, making some rocks fall down in the process.
"What the?! Sunray asked in shock before the six turned around to see the figure emerging from the shadows to be a Dragonquin.
Soon two more emerged from the ceiling as the six ponies gazed at the Quinkan beasts in surprise.
"Guys, something tells me this just got a whole lot uglier." Chase said as he and the rest of his family stood on their hind legs with their horns lit, aura hands replacing their front hooves, and dished out their first respective weapons.
Tempest did the same as she conjured a double bladed sword in her left aura hand before she held it in a fighting stance.
The Dragonquins surrounded the team while growling at them menacingly.
"They'll burn us to a crisp." Antonio said with a nervous look despite showing his determined look.
"Then we might as well go down in a blaze o' glory!" Sunray shouted with a smirk.
The six ponies charged at the three Dragonquins as they roared at them dangerously.
Chase and Jade took on the first Dragonquin as they dodged the tail swipes it gave them before they jumped into the air in an attempt to kick it in the face, only for it to knock them aside by the right wing as the two grunted in pain.
"I guess these beasts must've absorbed a lot of Netherworld Quartz magic! They're even stronger than they look!" Jade said with concern.
"No doubt about it, sis!" Chase said in agreement.
On the other side, despite their past history, Sunray and Tempest took on the second Dragonquin as the unicorn stallion rode on it like a bronco as the beast tried to shake him off.
"Stop moving so fast you ugly lizard!" Sunray shouted as he gripped his hold on the creature's head.
That proved to be a mistake as the Dragonquin flung Sunray off his head, making him scream in surprise before he landed behind some rocks with a painful grunt. Pulling himself up on a big rock, Sunray coughed some dust out of his mouth with a few pebbles in his mane.
"Okay, not bad for a first bronco try." Sunray moaned a bit.
Tempest jumped on the wall as the second Dragonquin tried to bash its head against her, but she avoided it by jumping on a long vine that stuck downwards. She swung on the vine towards the Dragonquin and then kicks it in the face as it roared in surprise.
The former commander landed back on her hind legs in a fighting stance while gripping her double bladed sword.
Suddenly she noticed the third Dragonquin flying past her in the background as Antonio was on it while laughing like it was a ride. The beast tried to shake Antonio off, but he kept a firm grip on it while laughing.
Trini jumped up and kicked the beast in the head, sending it to the ground as Antonio slid down the back to the tail and off.
"Nice riding, Antonio." Trini said as she joined her brother with a smirk.
"I have my ways." Antonio said with a smirk.
"Don't get too confident, buddy. We still have more troubles to deal with right now!" Chase said as the three Dragonquins surrounded the six ponies with saliva dripping from their mouths in hunger.
"You got a plan up your sleeves, Chase?!" Sunray asked while glaring at the Dragonquins along with his family and Tempest. "We're gonna need it!"
"I'm working on it!" Chase replied back.
While thinking of a way to stop the Dragonquins, Chase saw most of the support cracking a bit and the ceiling was beginning to crumble with the egg sacs starting to fall. Getting an idea, Chase smirked.
"Guys, those support pillars might do the trick! Let's cut them down with our element powers!" Chase shouted as his family and Tempest saw the support pillars starting to come down.
Getting what their leader was thinking, they nodded in reply.
"Well, let's do it!" Sunray said with a smirk as he, Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio channeled their chi.
Then with the combined energy of their five elements, Antonio fired a beam of Earth at one of the support beams followed by Sunray's fire beam striking the second one as Jade fired a water beam at the other pillar, followed by Trini's wind beam, and Chase firing a lightning beam at the ceiling.
Suddenly, the support pillars exploded as the cracks formed in the ceiling before it let out a loud 'kaboom' sound as the Dragonquins looked up to see the debris coming down on them as well as the eggs.
The debris knocked the Quinkan beasts to the ground as the roared in pain from all the rocks coming down on them and a dust cloud flew into the air. When it cleared away, Chase and his team saw the Dragonquins buried alive under the rubble with the egg sacs squashed.
"Alright, we did it!" Antonio shouted victoriously as Jade chuckled in agreement.
"That's what I'm talking about." Jade said as she and Chase shared a hoof bump.
(Scene changes)
Just a few moments later, the six ponies made it outside of the nest and into the air. Then some rubble fell down in front of the opening, courtesy of Antonio using his Earth element power.
Antonio then jumped down to join his family and Tempest.
"Yeah, baby! I love the smell of burnt Quinkan!" Sunray said with a smirk.
"Well, you guys know what you say. This is good practice for when the spit hits the fan. And trust me, it's coming." Antonio said with a grin.
"Sure we do." Tempest said as the six began to make their way back to the Ninja Tribunal.
Then a thought came to Chase's mind about Tempest being a spy for Kon, Juto, and Chikara.
"What's Kon got to do with Equestria, Tempest?" Chase asked Tempest as she turned to him before turning away with a glare.
"It's none of your business." Tempest replied back.
"What was all that spying you did? Huh?" Trini asked with a curious smirk.
"Let's just say, Kon lost something in Canterlot long ago and he wanted me to find it after he began my training over the months I've been in Japon." Tempest replied. "What do you guys care? The White Lotus Clan are a bunch of weaklings, you know that! They'd already lost the war with the Quinkan before it started. Luckily, Kon has a plan to make sure we all survive."
"So you're playing with other ponies lives!" Chase said with an angry look.
"Why not, Chase?" Tempest asked with a glare before she calmed down. "They've played with mine long ago. It's the survival of the fittest. I suggest you guys get with the program and be on the winning side."
"And which side is that?" Jade asked curiously.
"The one on top of the pile. Unfortunately, it's gonna be a big pile." Tempest replied back as they just came over a hill that led them right back to the village.
"Yeah! A big pile of 'should I cock a Quinkan tooth?'. Hehe." Antonio said with a smirk.
"So now what?" Chase asked further more.
"Just keep your muzzle clean and stay sharp. I'll tell you guys when the action's coming." Tempest promised as they returned to the village.
(Scene changes)
About a few minutes later, they returned to Kon, Chikara, and Juto's throne room and explained everything about their accomplishment in destroying the Dragonquin nest.
"You're still with us. We're impressed. And you six have destroyed the Dragonquin eggs. We suppose mercy is in order and it is granted. You all will not be passed out. But next time, we will not be so lenient. Never again defile the arena!" Kon said firmly even though he was relieved to hear that there won't be a problem with the Dragonquins for now.
"We owe you thanks, Chase Young. You, your family, and Tempest." Juto said as he had his attention on Chase with a smile.
"But you still have much more training to do now. You will resume it tomorrow morning." Chikara said as the six bowed their heads in respect to the three alicorn masters before they walked away.
(Scene changes)
The next day in the grounds of the Ninja Tribunal's Monastery, Chikara stood with her back to the Elite Ninja holding a Kanabō, while watching the sun rise.
"Strength of body, when combined with strength of mind and spirit, can move mountains." Chikara explained as she turned around to the Elite Ninja, putting the Kanabo on her shoulder. "Alone however, the body shatters against rock, like a brittle twig. For example…"
Chikara approached a boulder, putting her Kanabō down as she did. She lifted up a large boulder one handed, like it was a feather. She turned around to Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio, who all looked speechless.
"Whoa!" Chase and Jade said in unison.
Chikara threw the boulder up, then when it dived back towards her, she smashed it into a million pieces by chopping it once, leaving the five ponies speechless.
"Now, you will learn to use inner strength for this test as well." Chikara said as she used her magic to summon five pillars from the ground. "But there will be no weapons for this one."
"No weapons? Are you kidding me?!" Sunray exclaimed in surprise.
"Better do what she says, bro." Jade said wisely.
"Stand up, Acolytes." Chikara said firmly as the five ponies stood on their hind legs, lit their horns, and aura hands replaced their front hooves. "It is time to see if you can use what I have taught you. Focus on your inner strength."
Following her instructions, Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio focused their chi before they were enhanced with their powers. They opened their eyes and got into fighting stances before they jumped into the air towards the pillars of their own.
Chase used his own strength to slam both his aura fists on his pillar, shattering it into pebbles.
Jade used her strength to slam her right back hoof on her pillar, making it crumble to a million pieces.
Sunray sent a spinning back kick at his pillar as it began to crumble to the ground into the size of tiny ricks.
Trini sent two dragon punches at her pillar before back kicking it to the ground as it crumbled into tiny rocks.
Finally, Antonio performed three sets of phoenix punches at his pillar and as a result it crumbled down into a pile of pebbles.
The five ponies then powered their chi down as Chikara came up to them with a proud smile.
"Well done, you five." Chikara said proudly. "You have been using your training wisely. Perhaps there is hope for the world."
Chase smiled in response with the rest of his family.
(Scene changes)
Later, the Elite Ninja were in the courtyard of the Monastery with Kon, all sitting in lotus positions around him in a circle.
"While you walk on this realm, your spirit walks in another world." Kon explained. "What you see with your eyes is only one plane of existence."
He began to float up above the ground without the use of magic, shocking the five ponies in the process.
"What you feel with your heart and chi, that is the world of sport." Kon continued, holding a feather tip. "That is the world of the spirit. To truly combat the Quinkan, you must be able to manifest your two spirits as an Avatar."
"But we already have our dragons as a spiritual avatar. What else could we have for another spirit?" Jade asked curiously.
"The dragon you may inherit, but your inner strength, furiosity, elegance, determination, and ambition is what represents your secondary spirit from our animal totems, Jade." Kon answered. "The spirit avatar animal taps into a warrior's deepest soul, manifesting a true totem of each warrior's inner being. Each of the members of the ninja tribunal manifest a dragon, the ancient symbol for wisdom and strength. The dragon is a very rare avatar as well as a black panther for its ambition and elegance."
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio looked at him in silent awe of hearing how a dragon could represent wisdom and strength, especially the black panther for ambition and elegance.
"Now, let us see what animal totem lies hidden in your hearts, young warriors." Kon said, putting his hooves down. "Meditate on your inner spirit. Make it manifest. And most importantly, quiet your mind to unleash your spirit."
He hovered over towards Sunray, before he landed beside him. Sunray meditated as his medallion glowed before red chi came out of it and his body.
"Observe Sunray, his Avatar animal manifests." Kon said, as his chi showed his Avatar animal, which was a wolf. "The wolf represents ferocity and speed."
The wolf Avatar roared.
Antonio's amulet and body glowed with yellow chi.
"Behold Antonio's Avatar animal." Kon said, as his chi showed it, which was a bear. "The bear represents strength."
Jade went next as her medallion and body glowed purple with purple chi.
"Well done, Jade." Kon said as her chi showed her Avatar, which was a hawk that screeched. "The hawk represents fearlessness and intelligence."
Trini went next as her medallion and body glowed light blue , showing her Avatar, which was a lion.
"And Trini manifests the lion, symbol of honor and courage." Kon said, as the lion roared. Chase saw his family each manifesting their avatar animals while he began to concentrate more as Kon continued to explain. "With concentration and training, you will soon be able to meld your worldly form with your animal spirit totem."
Chase grimaced and narrowed his eyes.
"You will actually become your..." Kon continued.
A flash of light made him turn, startling him, then he saw a bright white light around Chase's body. He puts his hooves on the ground as the others turned to Chase as his body lit up with his chi lines, as his amulet glowed. A beam shot out from the amulet, which shot up and shattered the other Avatars, before his own manifested, which was a black panther as it roared loudly.
"The black panther! Inconceivable for one so young!" Kon exclaimed, shocked and speechless.
He turned to Chase with a proud smile as his family gathered around him in amazement.
"It seems we were right about you." Kon said, impressed.
"Oh, yeah!" Jade said with an excited grin.
"All right!" Antonio said with a happy smile.
"Way to go, Chase!" Trini said with a proud smile.
"Yeah!" Sunray added while placing a hoof on Chase's shoulder.
Kon approached the five ponies as they turned to him and they noticed the proud smile on his face he gave them.
"There is more to you and your family than at first seems apparent to the eye." Kon said to Chase. "I am very proud of you, Chase Young. You and your family have proven to be of use to us in the village as well as the Ninja Tribunal."
Chase and his family bowed in respect to Kon, an act he did in response.
(Scene changes)
Later that afternoon all the ponies and bunyips were busy minding their own business as in the throne room, Kon was looking out in the village.
While he was looking, Chase and his family came into the room. Chase walked up to the alicorn master, who felt his presence.
"Keeping ponies alive out here, keeping them full of hope, it can be daunting." Kon said as he turned to Chase before looking at the ground.
"I'd say you, Chikara, and Juto made a pretty good life out here." Chase said as Kon turned to him with a smile.
"You too must make a life with your family, Chase. Take your destiny into your own hooves." Kon said as he picks up a small pile of sand and let it drop to the ground from his hoof. "Look, sand cannot keep a shape by itself, but add water, and it becomes malleable." He gestured to some water as Antonio and Sunray were swimming in the pond while Jade and Trini sat in lotus positions while meditating. "Fate can be such if you add the right element combined with magic."
Chase realized what Kon was talking about.
"Chi!" Chase said with a smile as Kon hummed impressively.
"Our minds think alike." Kon said as he walked back to his throne. "Our monks say this world is coming to an end, but me, Chikara, and Juto are survivors. I say we live on long after this world dies!" He turns back to Chase. "Be ready, you and your family are shaping up to be one of our finest warriors, and we'll need you five for the trials ahead. I mustn't lose you, like Celestia and I lost our daughter."
"We know. Chen told us that. So is it really true that Kai took her away from you both." Chase asked with sympathy and concern.
"Long ago." Kon replied back solemnly before he recomposed himself and sat on his throne. "But much has been sacrificed in the war of the Quinkan so that others could live." He then puts on a serious look on his face. "Anyway, it matters not. We still haven't heard back from Seem's expedition of monks lately. I want you and your family to go into the Great Volcano and find them."
Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio walked up next to Chase as they smiled with determination to handle this mission like they always have.
"Go! And make war your own!" Kon said with an encouraging and proud smile.
The Elite Ninja bowed their heads in reply before they went off to head out.
(Scene changes)
In the desert, the five were walking to the destination of the Great Volcano. No sooner or later they found a path that leads right up to a secret passageway.
"There's the passageway." Trini said as the five stared at the way up. "Chase, I don't mean to doubt you, but you wanna go in there? A volcano? The minute we do, we're gonna get burned to ash."
"Well, Seem said they lost an expedition of monks in the Great Volcano. I bet they must've made this passageway to get inside." Chase said in theory.
"Yeah, lost being the operative word. If they vanished, don't you think that was a sign? Hello?" Antonio asked, feeling a little scared about this.
"Yeah, but you got us. All we have to do is follow this path and we're sure to find the monks." Chase said as the five began to follow the path toward the entrance.
"And try not to get ahead of yourself, Antonio." Jade said with a smirk.
They made it to the secret entrance and went inside, going through a tunnel. As the five walked down the tunnel, they noticed an orange aura light glowing on the walls offscreen.
Curiously, the five followed the light until they managed to come out of the tunnel and strangely they felt their hooves touch some soft. They looked down to see that they had stepped into a patch of grass and they looked at the area that something greatly shocked them.
Inside of the volcano is a lava and ash-abundant terrain, with vegetation in its more soil-abundant areas. It is made up primarily of lavafalls, rivers and beds of lava, rocky cliffs, and in some areas, cold sedimentary canyons and cliffs.
"Where are we?" Trini asked as she gazed at the vegetation in awe.
"I'm not sure, but I think we're in the center of the Great Volcano." Chase said with a puzzled look.
Sunray put his right hoof on the rocky wall with a curious look as he felt the coldness in them.
"But these rocks aren't hot. How can that be?" Sunray asked curiously.
"It looks like the magma must've stopped a long time ago from its intense pressure." Jade said while gently caressing the rock wall. "I think there must be a huge underground river flowing through the lava. That's why these walls are so cold."
"And it somehow must've sprouted this vegetation a long time ago from the prehistoric era." Trini added while lifting a small patch of grass with her magic.
"If there's an underground river in this place, then how come the volcano isn't erupting?" Antonio asked curiously.
"Maybe Kon must've found a way to use the elemental chi of water to make sure the village wouldn't get burned alive. He must've carved out an old cave to make the ocean flow through it." Chase replied back while looking at the area before he walked down the path towards some sand. "Now we just need to find out where Seem's monks are before this place goes kaboom."
"Oh great. And while we're at it, can we see if there's any fruit in this place?" Sunray asked as the five walked down the path.
"I highly doubt we're gonna find any source of fruit down here, Sunray." Jade said with a doubtful look.
While they were walking, they failed to notice something hiding in the shadows watching them with a pair of glowing blue eyes as it gave a light growl.
Back with the Elite Ninja, they climbed up a rocky cliff while following the path they were walking on. While following the walkway, some rocks fell into the lava with a few crumbling sounds.
Eventually, the group made it to a small area and saw a large area with a very big Demodragon skeleton sticking downwards with its mouth just a few inches from touching the ground.
In the center there was an Earth Pony skeleton with the same monk outfit. Strangely though, it held a Netherworld Quartz in its hooves.
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio approached the skeleton of the monk with deep remorse as they realized this was the only one they found. Their guess is that the others may have sacrificed themselves as well.
"Looks like he didn't last long here." Antonio said, feeling sad for the Earth Pony monk.
Jade then noticed something off about the Netherworld Quartz crystal. Strangely, it didn't give off a glow at all. In fact, it seemed to have lost its energy.
"Hey, guys. There's something not right about this Netherworld Quartz." Jade said as she used her magic to take the crystal out of the skeleton's hooves.
Chase, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio saw it as well and they realized Jade was right. The crystal lost all of its energy.
"The Netherworld Quartz has failed." Trini said in shock.
"But what happened to it?" Chase asked curiously.
"It must've burned out its energy. Remember how they work in the Netherworld, guys? I think I know how Zhao controls them." Jade said while theorizing about the crystal. "These crystals don't run on Equestrian magic, they're somehow powered by Sanzu River water. Maybe that's how Zhao created them."
"But why would this one be drained from its power?" Chase asked curiously.
"Kon must've enhanced his chi into the Great Volcano. Maybe that's how this one got into contact with it." Jade answered and looked at the burned out Netherworld Quartz. "I wonder what would happen if I did this."
Without any hesitation, Jade drops the Netherworld Quartz to the ground, causing it to shatter into a million pieces, shocking the five in the process.
"Well, I guess that explains why they need Sanzu River water to power up the portal with Zhao's powers." Antonio said with a stunned look.
Chase turns his attention back to the Earth Pony skeleton as well as the Demodragon skeleton as well as he takes a few steps forward to look at the mysterious creature. He looks around to see signs of life somewhere in the volcano, but found no traces.
"Alright, I think we've stayed here long enough. Let's get back to the Monastery." Chase said as the five went back the way they came.
But just as they were about to, a winged Dinoquin swooped in and grabbed Chase with its talons, causing him to scream in surprise as his family was shocked by this.
"Chase!" Jade shouted in concern for her brother.
The winged Dinoquin in appearance looked like a large pterodactyl, but with a single claw in its wing, a light blue underbelly, a long beak filled with sharp teeth, a long tail, and blue eyes.
"Looks like we got another Dinoquin situation, guys!" Sunray said in shock of the Quinkan beast, now known as a Pteroquin.
"We gotta get Chase out of its grasp! Come on!" Jade said as she led the others to help get Chase away from the Dinoquin.
Chase grunted as he tried to break free from the Pteroquin's grasp as it flew into the air through the Volcano.
"Oh, this is gonna hurt." Chase said miserably before he shot a magic blast at the Pteroquin, shocking it in the process as it screeched in pain while dropping the alicorn stallion in the process.
Chase screamed as he fell towards the river of lava until Jade managed to catch him by the right back hoof.
"Gotcha, Chase!" Jade shouted as the four ponies were in a monkey arm lock with each other as Sunray held a firm grip on his sister's hind legs with both his hooves.
"We all do, buddy!" Sunray added as Trini began to pull her family up as they took the moment to take a breather.
Suddenly, an evil laughter was heard from above the five ponies as they looked up to see Wuya hovering in the air with a wicked smile on her face.
"Oh, this is just too rich! Too rich! Hahahah!" Wuya said with a maniacal laugh. "I finally get to see the famous Elite Ninja get whacked from the comfort of my volcano. This is truly a gift! Hahaha!"
The Elite Ninja got into offensive positions as they glared at Wuya.
"So it's true, you're still alive, Wuya!" Chase said with a glare.
"You just don't know when to give up, do you?" Sunray asked angrily.
"I don't give up that easily as you ninjas always put it. Now it's my time to rid you off as well." Wuya said with a smirk. "But I've got a village to go and wreak havoc on Princess Celestia's loving husband."
Hearing that Wuya's going after Kon, Chase glared at her even more.
"You're not gonna touch him, Wuya!" Chase said firmly.
"Or what, Chase?" Wuya sneered sinisterly. "After all the trouble you caused for all of us in the Quinkan army, you're gonna regret all of the glory you ruined in Zhao's name. I'd love to stay and chat, but I have an appointment with Kon and the rest of the Ninja Tribunal."
"You're through, Wuya! Don't make us come over and…" Antonio said while trying to make a comeback. "Sick Chase on ya!"
"You're too late! I've already brought the rest of the Wasteland Quinkan beasts to the Japon village!" Wuya said, shocking the five ponies in the process. "When I get there, I will steal the very powerful chi from the three alicorn masters! I'll see you all soon. Have fun with your new friend."
Wuya then flew up while laughing wickedly and out of the Great Volcano.

The Pteroquin screeched loudly as Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio screamed in fright.
"RUN!" Chase shouted as the five ponies made a mad dash to the way they came in with the Pteroquin right behind them.
The winged Dinoquin chased after the Elite Ninja as it tried to capture them in its talons, only for them to use their jiu jitsu skills to dodge and jump out of the way. Thinking quickly, Chase uses his lightning element and fires an electric bolt at the Pteroquin in the face, shocking it in the process as it rammed into the rocky wall.
Unfortunately, it started to cause a cave in as the five ponies made a run through the tunnel they came through when some of the rubble came down, causing the Elite Ninja to tumble onto their backs and were sliding down the tunnel as they screamed at the top of their lungs.
Eventually, they came out of the tunnel and fell into the opening as they face planted into the sand.
The five ponies groaned as they shook the sand off them while Sunray and Jade spat some of it out of their mouths.
BOOM!
The tunnel exploded as the Pteroquin landed behind the five ponies, making them widen their eyes as they turned to see the Dinoquin glaring at them menacingly before they made a mad dash to the tall rocks to hide from the monster.
"Chase, any idea on how we can fight that Dinoquin?!" Jade asked her brother, hoping there might be a way to stop the Pteroquin.
"Uh, this is kinda new to me right now, Jade." Chase replied back when the Pteroquin landed on one of the bigger rocks with a screech.
The Elite Ninja glared at the Pteroquin as the beast landed on the ground on all fours while slowly advancing toward them and it growled.
It was then Chase remembered something about Kon's lesson about manifesting with the spiritual avatar animal.
"Wait a minute, guys! Remember what Kon said about manifesting our spiritual avatar animals? Maybe this might be a good time for you to test your's, Jade!" Chase said, making Jade turn to him in surprise.
Looking back at the Pteroquin, Jade knew this would be the perfect opportunity to test out her spiritual avatar animal.
"You're right, Chase!" Jade said in agreement as she glared at the Dinoquin. "Alright, here goes nothing!"
Focusing on her chi, Jade began to concentrate until she was able to light up her medallion and her body as she powered up her hawk avatar, which glowed brightly.
The Pteroquin roared in surprise from the brightness before it made a mass retreat back into the Great Volcano with a whimper like screech.

Seeing it gone into the smoking mountain, the five ponies sighed in relief as Jade powered her animal avatar down as well as her chi.
"Whew! That was close." Sunray said with a smirk.
"We don't have time to celebrate! Wuya's heading for the village!" Jade said with concern, bringing the others back to their senses.
"We gotta get back there and stop her from harming the citizens there! Come on, guys!" Chase said as he, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio ran to head back to the village of Japon.

No sooner or later, the Elite Ninja made it to the top of the walls as they noticed the Quinkan attacking the area with the ponies and bunyips running for their lives while the guards were defending themselves against the monsters.
"Oh man, we're too late!" Antonio said in shock and concern.
"No we're not! It's time we show those creeps a lesson! Put your game faces on, guys!" Chase shouted with determination as the five jumped down to join the fight.
In the chaos, Kon, Juto, and Chikara were fighting against a group of the bigger Quinkan as well as the other ones they had captured.
Kon jumped in the air and doubled kicked the first two to the ground as well as uppercutting a third one to the ground. Suddenly, he was cut off guard as an Uberquin slammed him to the ground as he grunted in pain.
Juto held a spear in his aura hands as he clashed blades with a Pyroquin soldier, who was wielding a katana sword. Then a Protoquin and Pyroquin tackled him to the ground, making him grunt in surprise.
Chikara was holding her Kanabō and used it to whack a few Protoquins aside before she was tackled to the ground as well by an Uberquin soldier as well as she strained while trying to break free.
The other Quinkan soldiers began to surround them when some shurikens stopped them in their path.
"Coming through!" Chase shouted, causing the monsters to turn to the Elite Ninja, who had their horns lit, aura hands replacing their front hooves, and holding their weapons.
They sent a number of whacks at the monsters, knocking some down before the five ponies landed between them and the three leaders of the Ninja Tribunal. Kon, Chikara, and Juto got up as they walked up to the five ponies.
"You certainly know when to make an entrance at a time like this." Kon commented with an amused smile.
"We just know when to do it." Chase replied back with a smirk before they turned their attention to the Quinkan soldiers approaching them.
Then Wuya landed on the ground while glaring at the Elite Ninja bitterly.
"You five are one impulsive annoyance to get rid of and one sorry sight, you know that?" Wuya asked with an angry look.
"You're one to talk to. And speaking of sorry sights, have you looked in the mirror lately?" Jade asked angrily.
"It's payback time for turning me into a freak!" Wuya said with a snarl.
"You were always a freak, Wuya. It's just now the ugly's also on the outside." Chase said with a glare.
"Dis me all you want, Chase. I'm still ten times better than you and your family. I've got the Dragon Mojo plus my own magic! I'm Wicked Wuya!" Wuya shouted with a smirk before she fired an electric blast at Chase, but he easily deflects it with his own element of Lightning.
"Too bad you've only practiced to gain the power without thinking it straight!" Chase retorted while getting into a fighting stance with his family doing the same as the five ponies held their respective weapons in their aura hands.
"Chase, you and your family deal with Wuya. We will keep the Quinkan from attacking the village." Chikara instructed the alicorn prince before she, Juto, and Kon went off to take care of the Quinkan.
The five ponies nodded their heads in reply before they turned her attention to Wuya and charged at her weapons ready.
Jade and Trini were the first ones to come at Wuya as they dived towards her, but she fired some lightning bolts, creating an explosion, before the two mares landed around her followed by Chase, Sunray, and Antonio. Trini tried to slash Wuya with her Kunai, but she blocked it with her forearm, then she knocked her leg down as she tried to kick the evil wicked monster. She spun around and hit Antonio's chest with her left shoulder, knocking him down onto his back, then he blocked a slash from Jade's tessens with her left forearm, before she spun around and hit her chest with her dragon tail.
"OH!" Jade moaned, hitting the ground on her back.
Chase and Sunray both dived towards Wicked Wuya, who then knocked Chase's katana swords with her right arm, then blocked Sunray's bo staff with her left arm. Sunray spun around and moved away slightly, then ducked as Wicked Wuya tried to hit him with her arm, as Jade somersaulted sideways and got in front of her. Wicked Wuya ducked as Jade spun around to slash her with both her tessens, then all three ponies tried to hit her at the same time, hitting her chest, which sent a shockwave out at them.
"AHH!" They yelled, twirling around.
They all hit the ground on their backs, as Sunray jumped up behind Wuya, landing on her back.
"I got her!" Sunray said.
He grabbed Wicked Wuya's neck while trying to stay on her, as the mutant unicorn dragon hybrid moved slightly, making him back flip off her.
"Whoa!" Sunray yelped.
Sunray landed on his feet crouched down, as Trini got up and charged at Wuya from her left, who turned to her. She ducked as Trini ran past her and tried to slash her with her Kunai, then they turned around to each other, before she tried to slash the monster's chest, but she knocked her lance out of her aura hands.
"What the?" Trini gasped.
"You can't stop the Dragon Mojo, kids! Do you really think you can stop me?!" Wuya hissed as she spun around slightly and hit Trini with her right arm, knocking her against a wall of a house.
"UH!" Trini moaned, hitting the ground on her chest.
Antonio and Chase both charged at Wicked Wuya, who ducked as Antonio tried to slash her with his tanto blades, then she whacked Chase's chest with her arm as the alicorn stallion ran past her. Wuya then pushed Antonio aside as he came at her, then turned as Sunray came up on her right, then blocked a kick with her arm, then she backed away as Sunray skidded down to kick her leg, as Antonio spun around to tackle her, making them both miss. They both then jumped up and twirled around, Sunray sending a kick at Wuya while Antonio sent a slash with his tanto blade, but they both missed before landing on their hind legs.
Sunray grabbed Wicked Wuya's right arm, as Chase came up behind her and grabbed her left she pushed Sunray away over to Antonio, while freeing herself from Chase. She then fired a blast from her mouth, which hit the ground behind Antonio and Sunray, creating an explosion which knocked them up.
"AHHHH!" they yelled.
Antonio hit the ground on his back as Sunray hit it on his chest.
Wicked Wuya grappled with Chase and pinned him against a wall, as the alicorn stallion held his katana swords near him.
"Ah!" Chase grunted.
Wuya backed away, making Chase raise his arms, then he fired a blast at him only feet away from the alicorn master, hitting his chest.
"AH!" Chase moaned in pain.
An explosion went off near him as lighting came out of his katana swords, before he fell to his knees.
"Chase!" Jade cried out in horror when she saw it.
Wicked Wuya laughed and moved away, as Chase fell onto his chest.
"Now, time to finish you off! Once and for all, Chase Young!" Wicked Wuya shouted as she raised both her clawed hands in the air in an attempt to pound Chase.
"Hey, back off!" Jade yelled, holding up her tessens, her right behind her and her left in front of her.
Wicked Wuya laughed as she turned to her, then she pushed a fruit stand forward, which raced towards her.
Jade jumped up and ran along the fruit stand's roof, before she jumped off it and it hit a wall.
"Whoa!" Jade yelped.
Jade then used her magic to create a pair of pegasus wings that came out of her back. She spread her wings out and began flying towards Wicked Wuya, who fired a blaster from her mouth, which hit and created an explosion behind her.
"AHH!" Jade shouted in shock. "WHOA!"
Jade flipped forward and hit the ground on her back as her wings faded away.
"My turn!" Sunray said, showing up behind Wicked Wuya.
Wuya turned around to Sunray, then extended her now reptilian tongue out to hit him.
"Whoa!" Sunray yelped, side flipping to his left.
He landed on his feet on a rock, then side flipped onto another one as Wicked Wuya sent her tongue at him again.
"Whoa!" Sunray yelped.
He landed on the roof of a fruit stand when Wicked Wuya's tongue wrapped around him.
"AH!" Sunray yelped in surprise.
Wuya pulled her tongue back, causing Sunray to flip forwards towards some rubble.
"WHOA!" Sunray yelled, hitting it on his back.
Antonio raced towards Wicked Wuya from behind while using his Earth Element power to ride on some rocks.
"Eat it, Wuya!" Antonio shouted.
Wicked Wuya turned around as Antonio fired some rocks from his aura hands, creating an explosion behind her as she roared.
"Yee-haw!" Antonio cheered, raising his elemental ride up. "Sometimes, I love being a ninja."
Antonio then stops using his element and jumped past Wicked Wuya, then landed on his hind legs and skidded it to a halt, then Wuya fired a blast from her mouth as he jumped up.
"Whoa!" Antonio yelped as an explosion went off around him before he fell and hit the ground on his side.
"Oh!" Antonio moaned.
"Antonio!" Trini cried to her brother with concern.
Wicked Wuya turned to Trini as she held up her aura hand, then she fired a beam of wind at Wuya while charging forward, but the beam bounced off her chest, creating an explosion behind her. Trini then spun around and tried to kick Wicked Wuya, but missed as she ducked, then she punched the monster with her left aura fist, but it didn't phase Wicked Wuya, before she whacked her chest with her arm, knocking her away.
"AHH!" Trini yelled before hitting the ground. "OH!"
On Kon, Chikara, and Juto's side, the three alicorn masters were fighting against the Quinkan soldiers as the Dinoquins began to advance toward some bunyip guards as they used some magic spears to fire some magic blasts at the Quinkan beasts head on, but it didn't have an effect.
"Kon, we will not be able to withstand this battle!" Chikara said with concern.
"Then we will just have to fight to the bitter end, Chikara!" Kon replied back, knowing there was nothing else they could do.
Bagheera was with Melody, Mark, Miguel, Iris, and Shang hiding in shelter from the chaos while Dojo and Tempest were making sure they were safe as well as the other young ones. The black panther cub turned his head to see Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio fighting off Wicked Wuya, but they were still out of luck.
"Come on, guys. You can do it." Bagheera said with hope that the Elite Ninja will find a way to stop the threat soon enough.
Back with the battle between the Elite Ninja and Wuya, Chase side flipped and landed on his hind legs before he turned to Wicked Wuya, who had her back to him.
"Over here, Wicked Wuya!" Chase called as Wicked Wuya turned around to face him. "Let's see how well you can handle a powerful lightning bolt with much concentration!"
Concentrating, Chase used his elemental Lightning power as his hands created a ball of electricity.
"Eat it!" Chase shouted as he thrust his aura hands forward, shooting a powerful beam of lightning at Wuya, striking her in the chest as she yelled out in pain.
She was sent flying in a large amount of debris as most rocks buried her underneath. Chase stopped using his elemental power just as Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio came over to him.
"You did it, Chase!" Jade said proudly.
"Yeah." Antonio said.
"Nice work." Trini said.
"You did great, buddy!" Sunray said with a smirk.
"Thanks, guys." Chase said while turning to his family.
The rubble began to move, getting their attention, as Wicked Wuya rose up from the debris, knocking it away as she laughed insanely.
"Unbelievable!" Chase exclaimed in surprise.
"How did she survive that?" Trini exclaimed in shock.
"I have no clue!" Sunray gasped.
"You can't stop me! You pathetic ponies think your powers are a match for mine, but I've been adapting them so well I am unbeatable!" Wicked Wuya said as she laughed before she cloned herself, creating two of her.
"She's replicating!" Sunray exclaimed in surprise as the two Wicked Wuya cloned themselves, creating four of them.
"One was bad enough? How do we fight them all?" Antonio questioned with concern.
"You can't fight us all!" Wicked Wuya replied back deviously with an evil smirk. "With every passing moment, I can replicate in my own army of myself and make sure Emperor Zhao's supreme glory will live on forever! You don't have the skills to destroy me, even with your useless chi alone!"
Hearing the part of them using their own chi alone, Chase got an idea. If they combine all their chi, they can surely stop Wuya for good.
"Guys, we have to use all of our powers. That way we can create the most powerful dragon avatar of all! Maybe this is what Kon has instored for us." Chase said, turning to his family, holding his aura fist up. "It's the only way."
"Right." Sunray said, nodding in agreement.
"Okay." Antonio said, liking the idea.
"Okay." Jade said with a smirk.
"Right." Trini said with a determined smile.
"Do it, Chase." Tempest said from the shelter after hearing their conversation, holding her hoof up.
"Come on, bro! Lead the way!" Sunray said with a smirk.
"Elite Ninja!" They all shouted, waving their arms around.
They all held them on either side of their chests symbols as their medallions and chests all glowed.
"I summon the power of the spirit!" Chase said as Wicked Wuya lost her gloating and was literally confused by this.
"W-what are you all doing? What is this?!" Wicked Wuya shouted, almost terrified by what she was seeing along with her clones.
Amid the chaos, the rest of the Quinkan forgot about their fight between the ponies and bunyips as they looked to see the Elite Ninja powering up their ultimate weapon. Kon, Chikara, and Juto gasp in awe and shock of what they were seeing as well just like the rest of the village.
The five ponies had their bodies all lit up brightly before they held their left arms up.
"DRAGON MEDALLIONS UNITE!" Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio shouted in unison.
A large golden dragon's head and neck appeared above them, which roared as its body showed up.
"Huh?" Wicked Wuya gasped, looking up. "What are you five doing?!"
"The Golden Dragon! When all five element medallions are combined, they form the spirit of the Golden Dragon!" Kon said in shock.
Seem and her monks saw this as they were visibly surprised by this as they bowed in respect to the dragon spirit.
The Elite Ninja all lowered their left arms, then pointed them at the Wicked Wuya clones, then the Golden Dragon opened its large wings and jumped over to the clones, then bit them all.
"NOOOOOOOOO!" Wuya shouted as her entire body disintegrated into nothing, ending her threat for good.
Once she was gone, the Golden Dragon turned its head to see the Dinoquins as they growled at the majestic beast. The Golden Dragon roared at them and reared its wings back before it sent a powerful gust of wind at the monsters, blowing them all the way back into the desert along with the Quinkan soldiers.
The spirit then roared triumphantly before it broke into five beams as they went back into their five respective medallion wielders.
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio then went back on all fours along with powering their magic down completely as well. They hear the crowd cheering for the five ponies as they turned to them. The Elite Ninja smiled at them as well as each other from stopping Wuya.
Kon, Chikara, and Juto approached the five with proud smiles on their faces.
"Well done, all of you!" Kon said proudly.
"You five have saved the village from a terrible menace." Juto said with a proud smile.
Seem approached the group with her monks as she came in front of Chase.
"You five have proven yourselves to have the balance needed to save us all. I was wrong about you. You five have indeed to prove yourselves to follow your grandfather's path even though he sacrificed himself to save us all."
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio were speechless for a second before they smiled in reply.
"As rubber-wearing, completely freaky, beyond bizarre, paint-faced, super weird monks go, you're all right." Antonio said with a smile he gave to Seem.
Kon came up to the five proudly.
"You and your family did it, Chase. We sensed that Wuya had brought the Quinkan here to obliterate us and steal the chi, but with Wuya gone, peace has been restored to us for now." Kon said with a smile.
"We owe you five thanks." Juto said proudly to the five young ponies as they smiled in reply.
"You five have performed a heroic deed by using your skills and your chi wisely." Chikara added with a warm smile. "It seems as though you have learned quite a lot since you have come here to the Monastery."
The Elite Ninja smiled in reply from all the gratitude.
"Does this mean…?" Chase asked with a smile.
"Yes, Chase. You all have earned your ranks by becoming a member of Japon." Kon said as he used his magic to hand the five each a new pair of knee pads. The Elite Ninja put their new armor on. "Here is your third and final battle armor. You are one of us now. Summoning the Golden Dragon spirit was with much concentration. And from us, a welcoming gift." Kon stepped to the side as Nandu Gili approached the Elite Ninja with five ninja suits and gives them to the five ponies. Each of them had a different color from yellow, blue, red, purple, and black. "These ninja suits are said to have been made from the finest clothing Nandu Gili made by himself. We were saving them for some new members. But right now, you five should wear them in this difficult time against the Quinkan."
In a few seconds, Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio tried on their new ninja suits with the respective colors they favored. Black for Chase, blue for Trini, purple for Jade, red for Sunray, and yellow for Antonio.
"Thanks, Kon. We don't have anything for you." Chase said grateful to the three alicorn masters, who only smiled in reply.
"You and your family give us all hope, Chase. That is gift enough." Kon said with a smile. "Welcome to the clan."
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio smiled to each other with happy looks on their faces.
(Scene changes)
It wasn't long until Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio entered Chen's dojo as the unicorn stallion came out with a few bandages on his head.
"Grandpa Chen!" Chase said as the five ponies came over to Chen to make sure he wasn't seriously hurt.
"Don't worry, young ones. I'll live." Chen said with a warm smile. "I see that you five have earned the ranks of becoming one of us now."
"We sure have." Jade said with a grin. "And we've made quite an impression now that Wuya is finally gone for good."
"It's true, we saw it for ourselves." Bagheera added as he, Iris, Melody, Mark, Miguel, and Shang approached the scene with smiles.
"You guys did very good too. I guess you five have what it takes to be great ninjas." Shang added with a smile.
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio smiled in response.
"Well, being here with you guys is what really makes us feel stronger together." Chase said with a warm smile. He then walked over to some papers and brought out a quill. "Maybe I can write a letter to Twilight that we've found Princess Celestia's lost love and see how she's doing at the School of Friendship with the others."
Hearing the part about the School of Friendship, the six young ones gasp in surprise.
"You five came from the School of Friendship?" Iris asked in surprise.
"But how did you guys escape?" Melody asked with concern.
"Well, we haven't exactly…" Chase said before he realized something as he and his family turned to the kids in surprise. "What do you mean 'escape'?"
Melody, Iris, Shang, Mark, and Miguel turned to each other with fear and concern. Shang then approached the Elite Ninja.
"We just got word that the School of Friendship has an evil pegasus filly with blue curly hair, has scarlet eyes, and a cutie mark with a chest piece." Shang explained, shocking Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio in the process.
"Wait. Are… are you guys talking about Cozy Glow?" Chase asked in disbelief.
"The filly may seem cute and innocent on the outside, but inside, she's a monster." Mark said, voicing his concerns with the rest of his friends.
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio turned to one another in surprise.
"But, but how do you know that?" Jade asked surprisingly as Shang turned to the right.
"Sunflower Seed." Shang said, gesturing to somepony off screen. "She'll tell you."
The Elite Ninja turned around to see a unicorn filly with a light gray fur coat, dressed in a robe, a mane and tail in mid length layers with heavy side-swept bangs, green eyes, and her cutie mark had three sunflowers on it.
Sunflower Seed was gazing out in the now star-streaked night sky with a grim expression on her face.
"Yeah, I knew Cozy Glow." Sunflower Seed muttered as Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio looked at her. "She was a good friend. Me and her, we had the same Earth Pony friend. Daisy Dandelion."
Flashback
It all began a long time ago at an orphan house called the 'Lucky Filly Orphanage' where Sunflower Seed, Cozy Glow, and Daisy Dandelion were good friends that day after the Earth Pony filly came from the door.
In her appearance, Daisy Dandelion had a light purple fur coat, her mane and tail with the style of short hair and long bangs, yellow eyes, and her cutie mark had two dandelions.
"I was there with Cozy when Daisy came." Sunflower's voice narrated as her past self, Cozy, and Dandelion went out to play with other orphan fillies who wanted to have families of their own. The three fillies did everything together as they rode down a slide, splashed some water in a pond, and ate lunch together. Daisy even made three heart pendant necklaces for her two friends with the same name after her. "We did everything together as great friends. We all had one thing in common, we wanted a family of our own. We felt like sisters."
(Scene changes)
A few days in the past, the three fillies were waiting in line to see if there would be any chance they were going to be adopted. But in this instant, they weren't haven't any luck. They tried again and again from time to time.
"We were waiting to see if there was any chance that we were going to be adopted for some families of our own, but we didn't have any luck." Sunflower's voice continued to narrate as the three fillies began to feel more distraught. "But then one day, Daisy got a call."
One day, an adult mare came into their room the three fillies were staying in and called Daisy in as the Earth Pony filly joined her.
(Scene changes)
The next day came when Daisy was finally adopted. Sunflower Seed was happy, but Cozy felt devastated after hearing one of her friends got adopted.
"It was the day that Daisy got adopted by a pegasus couple. I was happy for her that day, but Cozy felt hurt of not getting adopted." Sunflower's voice continued narrating as Cozy's distraught face hardened into a cold glare. "Something changed in Cozy that day… something snapped."
Finally, Cozy had enough as she marched up to Daisy, who turned to her and was surprised to see her friend so angry.
"You betrayed us! You're moving out of here!" Cozy Glow said angrily as she pushed Daisy aside, making the Earth Pony yelp.
"No, Cozy! It's not what you think!" Daisy said with a scared look on her face.
"Spare me the lies, Daisy!" Cozy snapped furiously. "You broke your promise that you would be our friend! You broke it!"
Daisy and Sunflower seed were very shocked and hurt by what the pegasus filly said. Then to their surprise, Cozy tore off her friendship necklace and tossed it aside before flying out of the room bitterly.
Sunflower Seed and Daisy looked at each other with concern for the pegasus filly.
(Scene changes)
In the Everfree Forest on a stormy night as rain fell, Cozy wandered alone with dirt and grime on her fur coat. She was more bitter than ever.
"She was lost, cast off, unloved, and unwanted." Sunflower's voice continued to narrate.
All of a sudden, Cozy lost her footing and fell down a dirt path and face planted into a puddle.
"Then she came upon Zhao and his Quinkan army." Sunflower's voice continued to narrate as Cozy lifted her face up to see a group of Protoquin soldiers gathering around her. It was then Zhao made his appearance as his soldiers stepped to the side. Lightning flashes around Zhao in the sky. Cozy struggled to get up and staggers toward him. Hiding in the bushes, Daisy and Sunflower saw everything with devastated looks. "But Cozy wasn't our friend anymore."
Flashback ended
In the past, Sunflower continued to look out into the night sky.
"She wasn't anypony's friend." Sunflower said. She reaches into her robe and takes out the pendant. The heart's inscription is worn and faded, but still readable. "She became Zhao's daughter and he trained her under the dark arts of jiu jitsu as well as the art of manipulation. It wasn't long until he sent his army to attack the Lucky Filly Orphanage. We all barely escaped from Cozy's wrath."
"So how did you get away from her?" Jade asked with concern.
"I got broke." Sunflower clarified as she lifted her front hoof to reveal a scar on the side of her stomach. "Kon, Chikara, and Juto found me and brought me here. Other fillies that were looking for adoption weren't so lucky." Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio continued to listen with horrified looks on their faces. "It's not right for what Cozy Glow has done. All of us, we didn't stand a chance."
"But if she's at the School of Friendship, our friends and family our there!" Chase said with concern for his family and friends' safety.
"You guys can't go back!" Miguel said with worry.
"Returning now would be suicide." Shang added.
"Guys, it's too late for that." Iris added as the Elite Ninja turned to her. "If Cozy has already been following her father's footsteps, she's already brought the Quinkan to your school by now. They want to drain all of the magic to the Netherworld so that all of the ponies and creatures here will be defenseless."
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio were visibly surprised and worried about this even more. With his head hung low, Chase walked to another window sill.
"I can't believe it. All this time, Cozy's been tricking us from the start. She never messed her test up on purpose since Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo were teaching her about the Elements of Harmony. This was all a scam to get rid of me. All of those events must've been played by her. I never seen any pony get hurt in all my life before, especially not my family and friends. This is all my fault for getting us out here." Chase said with guilt as he brought out a picture of him, Twilight, the rest of their family, and friends smiling in the photo.
"It's a classic move, buddy. We've seen it a dozen times." Mark said, voicing his sympathy to the alicorn stallion.
"They take the thing you love the most and they turn it against you." Miguel added as well.
Chase looked at the photo with a guilty look of getting banished to the Wasteland. He starts to think things through and realizes he and the others don't have time to waste. He gains a determined look on his face, ready to go back home.
"Look, we gotta get back to Ponyville, and we gotta stop Cozy before she drains all of the magic to the Netherworld." Chase said as he was about to walk out, but Sunray stopped him by getting into his way.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Chase, are you crazy?!" Sunray asked in disbelief. "We can't just do that!"
"Yeah, they're never gonna believe us if we don't have any proof of it." Jade added as well with concern.
"Look, Chase. We're up for stopping Cozy too, but we can't just waltz into the school and say 'hi, Twilight. We just got back from our vacation! And that Cozy Glow has been on the side of the Quinkan'." Antonio said after he demonstrated the problem with a fake joy look and recomposed his concerned look.
"Chase, they're right. We're gonna need a better plan than that." Trini said in agreement with the rest of her family. "Not to mention that Chancellor Neighsay will just catch us in the act and throw us in jail too."
Hearing this made Chase realize they were right as he sighs disheartenedly.
"You're right, guys. We'll never get a chance to go back since Chancellor Neighsay thinks creatures are still enemies with the ponies." Chase said with his head low. Then he widened his eyes in realization as he smiled with an idea. "But he doesn't know that Cozy's been the one behind all of this. That's proof enough to get him to realize he's wrong. We're still going back."
"But Chase-" Jade tried to protest in concern, but her older brother stopped her.
"Look, I get that we're wanted criminals, but we can still find a way to stop the Quinkan without being spotted. We'll let Chancellor Neighsay see that he was wrong all along if Cozy lets him see her true colors." Chase said with determination. "It's time for us to go back, guys. It's our chance to redeem ourselves. Are you in?" Chase asked with a determined smile while putting his right hoof in the middle.
Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio looked at each other for a moment before they turned to Chase with a determined smile on their faces as they put their hooves on his one by one.
"We're always with you, buddy." Antonio replied back with a smirk.
"As ninjas, we never give up on each other." Jade said with a grin.
"Neither do family." Sunray added with a smile.
"And we never do the same to our friends." Trini said with a determined smirk as the five retracted their hooves.
"Then it would be wise to remain undetected." Kon's voice said, gaining the everypony's attention as they turned to see him, Chikara, and Juto walking after they heard the conversation.
"And you five are the only ones who can stop Cozy Glow from draining the magic to the Netherworld." Juto added, seeing their determination to go back.
"There is a way for you five to go back as well." Chikara said, surprising the five ponies in the process. "There is a zeppelin area not too far from this village. If you can use your stealth skills to sneak into the next cargo zeppelin by tomorrow, you will be sure to make it back to Ponyville before it happens."
Chase and his family bowed their heads in respect to the three alicorn masters in response as they did the same for their graduated students. The Elite Ninja lifted their heads as they turned to one another.
"Are you guys ready to do this?" Chase asked with a confident smirk.
"Oh yeah." Sunray replied back as Jade, Antonio, and Trini nodded with confidence in them.
Chase looks out the window and sees the full moon.
"Hang on, Twilight. We're coming back for you and the others." Chase said with a determined smirk.
