Chapter 28

Satoru… has been sulking.

So far he has been stuck in the house for three days, doing nothing but reading a paper, refusing to go out like this anymore. "GAH! WHY WON'T SHE TURN ME BACK NOW!" he roared in protest.

Yua, was in the kitchen and sighed aloud. "Sometimes I wonder what goes through your head, other times. I am grateful there are times like this where you get knocked down a peg or two…"

"What do you mean by that!" he demanded. "Yua… I did NOTHING wrong!"

She peered at him oddly. "Nothing wrong? When you used our children as some sort of leverage over my sister?" she asked bluntly. "And also she told you time and time again to leave Sukuna alone. Even I have said so! Yet, you have to go poke the bear on that!"

"It was a joke with Sukuna… besides, a little teasing is nothing…"

"He was in the middle of teaching Calypso," she protested. "You were interfering with the education of a student."

He went silent.

Satoru sneered at the notion. "I'm getting some fresh air…" he growled and stormed out of the house.

He hadn't been outside in three days, but it bothered him. Looking about, everyone went on with their day, however he didn't know what to do, where to begin, or if there was anything worth doing that day!

"Dad!"

Peering over he saw Shin approach. "Dad, do you want to train with me?"

"Fine," he muttered. "You led"

Shin was oddly excited for this, he grabbed Gojo's lower left hand and led him out of the domain. From there, they went to a training spot, Shin turned to him and smiled. "Okay, now you are going to watch right?"

He nodded. Satoru sat on the ground but wasn't interested in doing this either. However, something happened.

He watched Shin call upon his curse energy, that was when things got interesting. In fact, Satoru was wondering how he didn't see this before either!

The curse energy in his son… he has duel channels!

"His curse energy… He has two ways of controlling it as well as circulating his body!" he whispered.

Since after all, Shin has to do a special movement with his hands to make hallow purple.

For the first time, Satoru was seeing why his son's technique was far different from his.

For a sorcerer, it's rare for them to have two techniques to begin with. Shin overcame that, since his body made another channel for curse energy within himself. But… how?

When he saw it all from this perspective, Satoru… couldn't help but be in aw of his child. Even when he unleashed Hallow purple, it had twice the force of Satoru's. Shin turned to him and smiled. "What do you think dad?"

He was silent on the matter.

Satoru kept looking at the curse energy around his child, how it gathered and when he unleashed it, the self-generating Satoru does for himself, his son has something similar. His body acts like a vacuum to curse energy around him. When he unleashes a massive amount like what he just did, his body will suck up residuals around him to ensure he doesn't pass out or over do it.

But, for the first time. Satoru got to see how and why his son's technique was nothing like his. "I understand…" he whispered.

"Dad…" Shin called gently. He turned to his son who looked a little meek. "Do you get it now?"

Satoru paused. "You wanted to show me this… while I am like this…"

"Oji did this before his curse energy was taken away, he helped me refine my technique a little, but he figured you would be better to help me understand it. But…"

"I kept forcing my method on you… when it never worked because yours is far different from mine, as well… it's stronger."

Shin froze. "It is?!" he demanded.

Satoru stood up he approached his son and explained. "You… have something amazing going on here. Normally, curse energy has a single path to take, like veins in the body to circulate the systems properly. However, you have TWO paths the send the curse energy. It's why you have yet to harmonized red and blue or understand either or, one channel controls red, the technique that blasts and pushes those away from you, while Blue rapidly pulls them in…"

"I already figured it's like a magnet" Shin stated.

Satoru smirked and nodded. "I suppose it is." Yet his smile dropped. "How did I not see this before?"

Shin forced a smile. "Well, to be honest dad. We've been trying to get you to see from our perspective for some time. When I tried to explain to you before that your technique although similar, wasn't how I was using it."

He nodded to that fact. "One track mind huh?... wait… why am I only noticing this now?!"

Shin snickered for a moment. "Dad… when you are… you. You tend to assume things ahead of time, you assume you know what we want to learn and how to learn it. But you also don't see it from our perspective either. Especially me. You have been determined since day one to have me learn your method… it doesn't work for me, I've tried to explain it many times over."

It took Sukuna's eyes for him to see this. For someone with the six eyes ability, he felt as if he just a fraud at this point. "I'm sorry,"

"It's okay dad, now, do you want to help me with this?"

Gojo smiled and nodded.

In truth, he learned a lot that day about Shin. How he used his curse energy, in fact, he was on the cusp of grasping how to use blue with his right hand, and red with his left. He understood that now, and he needs to teach his son how to use both of them.

If anything…

Give time, he can see Shin surpassing him in a matter of a year.

They trained for a few hours more. Shin was just grasping at the concept of blue and red, when he tried out. As much as he can pull in curse energy from around himself, it's another to refresh his mind and body doing so.

"Perhaps there is something I can teach you, do you know reverse jujutsu?" he asked.

To his shock, Shin nodded. "Aunt Chusi taught it to me in a day," he explained. "She said that's the basics, every Tooru should learn how to do it. She recently got Mochi to learn how as well."

That… was rather impressive.

"Have you tried using reverse jujutsu on the brain?"

Shin paused. "You can do that?"

"I do all the time, it's how I constantly have curse energy, you can use reverse jujutsu in order to refresh the mind. Making you more energized, as well, the brain is where the energy gathers, too much and you overload. When you refresh yourself, it clear that." he explained.

Shin nodded and tried for himself. It took a little getting use to, he even bled a little from his nose, but, eventually, he was able to use it on his brain. When he finished, Shin was stunned. "Whoa… it's like you took a power nap or something!"

"Isn't it?" Gojo asked and smiled a little. "I would practice that every so often, but let's see if we can get you to use Red and Blue properly… I do admit, if you are able to master this… you will surpass me."

His son froze for a moment, but smirked. "Auntie said the same thing, even Oji."

'No wonder they were asking Sukuna for help. He saw this when my blind ass didn't… not to mention… he actually listened rather than assumed… despite his knowledge…'

"Dad?"

"Sorry, just thinking." He said gently.

Shin paused for a moment. "I wish you were like this more often."

Satoru froze. He turned to Shin, stunned by what he said!

"What do you mean? You rather I look like Sukuna?" he asked.

He shook his head and sat down. "No, but before, you didn't listen to what I had to say. You assumed that I used hallow purple the same as you, and were trying to force your way to use it on me. For once, you are taking me seriously."

Gojo was stunned by this, but… there's truth behind it isn't there?

"Dad… I know you are the way you are, but sometimes… it's a little too much… and it's not enough. When you are with us, yeah, you're fun to be with. But at the same time… I want a dad that is serious too, when it needs to be that is. Quite frankly, the way you come off is that you want to be our friend… but you don't want to be our father."

Silent.

What COULD he say in reply to that?!

But, it's what Yua has said all along. 'I shouldn't have to ask you, my husband for help in raising the children!'

Is… is this why Chusi is forcing a second husband? Is he THAT neglectful?

"Dad?"

"Just… a lot going on right now…" he said.

Shin merely nodded and sat in silence as Gojo continued to think over everything. Maybe… this was the real punishment. Having his eyes open to what is really going on around him. "I think tomorrow… I need to spend some time with Rook."

"He would like that," Shin said and smiled. "You know dad… you're not bad like this… I find you listen better."

Gojo gave him a side stare… which is easy to do considering his eyes are like that of a chameleon. He can control where each one turns to and sees.

He pointed to Shin sternly. "I'm not staying like this!" he said in a warning tone.

Shin snickered. "I wouldn't want you to, besides… when Oji acts like you… it's a lot more unnerving than you think."

Gojo paused. "Say what?"
