Call Me Maybe
Pairing: Rory/Jess
Summary: Rory's in Philly during the campaign trail and after the day's events, she goes to a nearby bar to unwind. She runs into Jess. One time thing or a second chance at love?
The campaign trail had been going good. Not to say that living out of a suitcase and hotels was something that I'd want to do for the rest of my life but it was it was a good starting place. I walked from the hotel, down the street to a nearby bar. When I walked in, I scanned the room. I was surprised to see a familiar face. I walked over to the bartender and got a drink before I approached him.
I threw a wish in the well
Don't ask me, I'll never tell
I looked to you as it fell
And now you're in my way
I trade my soul for a wish
Pennies and dimes for a kiss
I wasn't looking for this
But now you're in my way
When I sit down across from him, he looks but shocked but happy to see me. I hadn't seen him since Logan went to Costa Rica. We catch up about what's been going on in our lives. He congrats me on graduating. He says he's sorry that Logan and I broke up; I know he doesn't mean it. We sit there and stare at each other while slowly drinking our drinks.
Your stare was holdin'
Ripped jeans, skin was showin'
Hot night, wind was blowin'
Where you think you're going, baby?
"You look good." He said.
"You've always looked good." I said to him.
A slow song started to play. "You wanna dance?" He asked me.
"Sure." I said. He stood up and walked around the table, holding his hand out for mine. I took it and let him pull me to the dance floor.
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy
But here's my number, so call me, maybe
It's hard to look right at you, baby
But here's my number, so call me, maybe
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy
But here's my number, so call me maybe
And all the other boys try to chase me
But here's my number, so call me, maybe
When the song ends, we head to the bar. I suggest some shots and knowing him, he's probably feeling a little adventurous right now. We order the shots, and down them when the bartender brings them to us; ordering two more. By the end of the second shot, I'm feeling a little tipsy. I turn and look at him. "You wanna get out of here?" I ask him. He nods. "My hotel is right down the street." I say as we make our way to the door.
Your stare was holdin'
Ripped jeans, skin was showin'
Hot night, wind was blowin'
Where you think you're going, baby?
We make our way down the street. He wraps an arm around my shoulders, and I wrap one around his waist. I walked into the hotel and I led him to the elevator. I hit the button for my floor and then lean back against the wall. He places his hands on either side of my face and crashes his lips to mine. Kissing him again, makes me feel seventeen again.
Hey, I just met you and this is crazy
But here's my number, so call me, maybe
It's hard to look right at you, baby
But here's my number, so call me, maybe
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy

When the elevator stopped, I pulled him out of the elevator towards my hotel room… thank god I didn't have a roommate. As we stood in front of my hotel room, I dug the key card out of my back pocket and unlocked the door. As soon as we were inside and the door was shut, Jess pushed me against the door kissing me with everything that he had. I wrapped my arms around his neck as his hands went to my hips. It was one of the best kisses of my life. His hands went down to the back of my thighs and he picked me up and I instinctively wrapped my legs around his waist.
"Bedroom." I said, pulling back from the kiss. He nodded before kissing me again.
Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad
I missed you so bad, I missed you so, so bad
Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad
And you should know that
I missed you so, so bad
(Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad)
Jess gently laid me on the hotel bed, before climbing up and hovering above me. "Do you know how much I've missed you? I've thought about you every day, since that night of the Truncheon opening." Jess said, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.
"I've missed you too. I wanted to stay so badly that night but it…" I said trailing off.
"Wasn't the right time." He said and I nodded. It never seemed to be the right time for us. "Maybe it is now." He said. I looked into his eyes and I saw something that I'd never seen there before. Hope.
"Maybe it is." I said.
It's hard to look right at you, baby
But here's my number, so call me, maybe
Jess kissed me again and the next thing I know we're pulling each other's clothes off.
There's grunts and moans echoing throughout the room.
Skin on skin. Moans. Grunts. Kisses of passion and lust…and something else. Is it love?
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy
But here's my number, so call me, maybe
And all the other boys try to chase me
But here's my number, so call me, maybe
Laying in bed afterwards, I lay my head on Jess's chest. "So now what?" He asks me, running his fingertips up and down my back.
"I don't know. I'm on the road for the next year. After that…I'm not sure where I'll be." I tell him honestly.
"Matt and Chris want to open a location in New York. Maybe I'll do that while you're on the road. Then we can figure things out." Jess tells me.
"And then?" I ask, curiously.
"Then…we'll figure it out." He says.
I nod, unable to find the words I want to say. So instead I ask, "And until then?"
"We'll talk, text, email. There's always skype. Depending on where you are maybe I can come to you." He says.
"It sounds perfect." I say.
Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad
I missed you so bad, I missed you so, so bad
Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad
And you should know that
So call me maybe
The next morning, Jess helps me back my bag and walks me downstairs to meet the bus. I have a job to do so it's on to the next town. "So this is it." I say. I can feel the tears building up.
He tucks a piece of hair behind my ear and kisses my forehead. "It's not goodbye. Not forever, anyway." He says.
I nod. "I know. I'll just miss you is all." I tell him.
He nods and smiles at me. "You should get going." He says.
I nod. "So, I guess, call me." I said, turning to get on the bus.
"You know I will." I hear him say as I take the last step onto the bus.
A/N: It's done. Finally. I don't know what but that one was so hard to write. I spent so much time going back and forth on that one. Also, there's a poll up on my profile for my story "The one you thought you were meant to be with". Be sure to check it out.
