The Owl Sisters I: Sisters in Demon World Chapter 2 Witches Over Wizards

Dawn was rising on the Owl House. The wind howled as it entered through a window into room the Noceda sisters were sleeping dreaming of the events from yesterday. Both sisters suddenly woke up with a gasp as they looked around the room.

"It wasn't a dream," Luz reailzed as she got up and look out the window. "Good morning, terrffying fantasy world."

"Good morning," A large sea monster as it sank back to the ocean which made Luz cringed then pick up King.

"Good morning you little cuite pie!" Luz kiss his cheek repeatedly.

"I am not your cutie pie!" King shouted.

"Yes, you are," Luz continued to baby him while King sighed in defeat.

"I know."

Luz put him down then turn to her sister who was stretching her back.

"Buenos dias, hermana. Ready for our first day as witch apprentices?"

"You know, sis," Lana smirked. "I'm going to the bathroom to freshen up."

Lana left the room and entered the hallway. He found it and opened the door, were a couple of owls flew much to her surprise.

"Hi, Lana!" Hooty greeted her which made her scream before karate chopping him.

"Ow! I'm just wish you a good morning," Hooty exclaimed he retrating back to the front door. "Jeez! Hoot! Ow!"

"Sorry, Hooty. If you wanna wish some good morning, do it outside the bathroom," Lana said as she went to freshen up..

Moments later…

"Is that really necessary?" Lana asked Luz as she was dressed up.

"Yes, it is," Luz smiled.

The twins made their way downstairs and saw Eda sitting at the table with a mug going through my body is trying to get used to being awake.

"Good morning, Eda the Owl Lady. I am ready for my first day of Witch Apprenticeship!"

"Ugh," Eda groaned before looking over the teens. "Who are you two again?"

"Remmber us? Luz and Lana? We free the oppressed and defeated an evil warden togehter? Yesterday?"

"You already forgot of what we did at the Conformatoruim?" Lana asked.

"Kids, lay off on details I haven't even my cup of apple blood yet."

"Is that you're twisted version of apple juice."

"No."

"Like actual, blood?"

"Yes," Eda said as Celestia handed her mug. "Thanks."

"Your welcome," Celestia said drinking a cup of tea.

"Teach us some spells. When do we get a magical staff? Was I supposed to bring my own runes?"

"Or do you have magic quest that likely involving us nearly dying?" Lana asked.

"Whoa, whoa, slow down guys, being witches doesn't happen overnight," Celestia told them as she got a look on Luz's attire. "And you do realize you have traffic cone on your head?"

Confused, Luz took her witch hat off blew on it, revealing that it was traffic cone with thick amount of dust on it as Lana and King laughed.

"But a magic staff, huh? You really want one?" Eda asked only for Luz nodded her head.

"Magic staff, come to me!" Eda held her hand out and in a few seconds her staff came to her hand.

"Now most witches are awarded a staff after school, but with me and Celestia has your mentors you'll be taking a different angle," Eda explained then drop a bag of potions on the floor then went up to the balcony. "You'll have to work for it. I run a few businesses. On weekends, I offer rare human treasures that Owlbert drags over from your side of the realm. Most days, I sell only the finest homemade elixirs and potions."

"Today, you two will be deliver packages and selling potions to that town over there, Bonesborough."

"But be careful, we have a collection of rivals who have ax to grind with taking our business down and they won't mind taking down either of you."

"So basically, we errand girls for today?" Lana asked.

"Yep. You wanted a dangerous magic quest? Girls, you got one."

"We won't let you down!" The twins said as Eda pushed them out of the door.

"Remember, never befriend a man in sandals and always measure twice, cut once."

"Okay."

'Wait, what?"

"Good luck!" Eda slammed the door on them closing it then Celestia woke up King.

"Sorry to ruin you power nap but you need to go with them."

"What?! But I just found the perfect spot. Why do I have to go?" King complained.

"There's a good chance, that they'll get lost or eaten, or probably both," Eda told him.

"I heard that!" Lana screamed from the outside then Eda closed the curtains.

"And also because you work for us, unless you want pay the rents."

"Ugh, fine!" King grumbled then join the twins outside.

"Be back by nightfall or risk mortal peril," Eda made it crystal clear.

"Have a nice trip!" Hooty said.

"Let's get this over with," King said as he hopped Luz's shoulder.

Some time later, the trio arrived to the town of Bonesborough. Luz, Lana and King walked through an archway at the town's entrance. Luz and Lana look around at the town. Seeing every thing from the buildings to monsters and demons. King noticed the teen standing still taking the sights before them.

"Hey you two, it's rude stare," King grabbed their attention.

"Sorry, little dude," Lana said to him. "It's a lot to take in."

"I've seen only places like this in my dreams. It's incredible. And we're the only ones here?"

"Didn't see anyone else."

"But there has the reason why we ended up this place of all people. Could it possible for us, the two biggest fans of magic actually had a preset path for greatness?"

"Just like Azura and Ally?" Luz theorized.

"Did their path to greatness involve delivering boil cream?" King asked as pulled a potion.

"Today we're delivering packages but tomorrow I'll be earing the respect of everyone on the Boiling Isles of my magic prowess."

"Qué manera de soñar, Luz."

"Nunca se puede soñar demasiado en grande, Lana."

"Okay. One, can you stop speaking that weird human language and two, the Boiling Isles is nothing but cesspool of despair. So good luck you too," King said.

"More like a cesspool of delight," Luz trying to optimistic.

"Realx, King, how bad can it be?" Lana asked him,

Couple of hours later, the three are sat on a curb, with King scarfing on a snack. Both twins sulked of how the day went.

"Well, this sucks," Lana said as she slaps off a winged creature trying to eat her arms.

"I know, I've enough delight for one day," King added.

"I though being the only human would make me special instead it just make everyone to scream at me or eat us."

"Yeah, humans are not exactly like here."

"No kidding, furball," Lana rolled her eyes. "I understand that becoming a witch takes time and more time for everyone else to get use to having a human here let alone two. I wanted some excitement and wonder. Like a magical quest from a wizard."

"Sorry to break to you, but there's no random witch or wizard that's going to dressed like some grand master of magic."

"Yeah, I guess your right, let's just deliver this last package and head back home, before it's too late," Lana said as the trio walk down an alley. "Maybe this world isn't what I thought it wa… HOLY CRAP!"

In front of them was a large castle with golden banners illuminated by sunlight. The doorbell was made of gold, and towering wooden doors open after Luz pressed it. "Pretty."

"Big house always belong to big whack jobs," King dismissed. "Let's kick the package and beat feet."

The two teens walked in then King follow just as the door closes.

"Weh?"

"Hello? We're delivering a package from Miss Eda, The Owl Lady,"

Suddenly, lanterns were lit around the room, showing a massive library with a painting of a wizard then the wizard walked the stairs.

"Today just got good," Luz smiled.

"Weird old man in jim-jams," King added.

"I was in the oscillation, reading the stars. And who might you be, with eyes full of curiosity?" The wizard said.

"I'm Luz, and this… is Lana my sister."

"Young lady, dareth I say, I sense something unique about both of you. Please why won't you join me for tea?"

The wizard summons some chairs and table of snacks.

"Okay," Luz said with excitement before Lana put her hand on her shoulder.

"Luz, I don't trust him," Lana warned her as King grab Luz's leg.

"Let's scram! Wizards are old dorks with glitter in their pockets."

"Bu the starts on his robe are sparkling. And look there's a baby fox in his beard. Plus I see scones on the table."

"Where?!" King asked before running to it and eating the food on it.

"We'd would love to join you for tea."

As the twins sat down, Lana noticed a cart of potions.

"Do you sell potions, Mr…"

"Adegast. Call me Adegast. And yes, I run a small business."

"You would make a killing selling scones," King exclaimed.

"I'm surprised to see you here. It was my understanding thar Eda and Celestia delivered the packages personally."

"Well, I'm kinda Eda's apprentice."

"And I'm Celestia's."

"Intersting and how are you two finding the experience so far?"

"I'm sure how to respond to that…" Lana was unsure.

"We've only got started. But I'm being honest, it isn't cool as we thought it'd be. When we decided to stay in this magical world. We thought we meant for something special," Luz said as she look at her reflection in the tea cup. But Eda have us doing chores."

"I see. Well, then what if I were tell you could give you and your sister one?" Adegast asked catching their attention.

"Seriously?" Both twins asked then King then jump on Lana's arm.

"Don't trust him. Wizards can be shifty."

"I'm hear you furball, but I want to see what he's got. I'm sorry for that keep talking,' Lana said then Adegast pulled out a scroll.

"The prophecy speaks of two young girls who claim the Celestial Staff and free this world from ancient evil. It doesn't say if the girls are humans. So, perhaps those two girls could be you."

"Now your talking," Luz said as she takes the map.

"Tell me young ladies, do you believe yourself worth to attempt this quest. You need to know that the road is dark and perilous."

"I love peril. Especially means if means we possibly face certain death," Lana grinned.

"Only the chosen ones, can pull the staff from its post," Adeagest said which made punk Noceda suspense grew.

"Nice story, awesome. Love the food, we're going now, Goodbye."

King having had enough nonsense grab the girls by their arms and left. Not knowing to them the wizard did an evil grin once they left.

In the girls bedroom, both girls overlook the map and Luz was about giddy about doing this as Lana tried to deduce that this quest wasn't a big scam then Eda and Celestia came in with Celestia holding a dead goblin arm.

"Hey you two, how the delivers go?" Eda asked then notices Luz with a map and pacing.

"What's going on?"

"Eda, tell them how dumb wizards are," King groaned.

"Ugh! Wizards are the worst. Never trust a man in casual drapery," Eda said.

"You said as wizards are a different species," Lana wondered.

"They are. In your world, witches and wizards are define by gender while here they are two different species."

"Getting off topic here, what exactly happened?"

"Your wizard client told them that they are chosen ones!" King laughed.

"Wait seriously?"

"He even given them a map," King added as both twin blushed in anger and embassment.

Just as Eda was about to say something, she cries out when Lana tugs her long hair.

"OH SHUT THE HELL UP!" Lana shouted as she punched her.

King, Celestia, and Luz gasped to see Lana punched her so hard.

"STOP LAUGHING! I KNOW WE AIN'T SOME CHOSEN ONES AND I KNOW THIS I FRICKIN SCAM! I WAS ONLY INESTRED TO SEE IF THIS WAS A LITTLE JOKE FOR US OR YOU AND THE ALICORN!" Lana snapped.

"What?!"

"Excuse me?!"

"I'm saying, that this wizard chum has something against the two of you and he's using us to get to you. He seemed pretty engaged in our time with you, like he wanted some info out of you. Please tell me that does not smell fishy to you."

Lana gave them the map, so they can inspect it.

"So wait you didn't buy any of that?" Luz asked her.

"But you made it look like you did," King raise an eyebrow.

"I only acted like that to play along get him to squeal. I'm not naive, King. And Luz, when things are too good to be true, 90 percent of the time, there's some underhand motive that involves something stupid."

"Kiddo, I think your on to something," Eda said to Lana. "This map is bunk. There's no Celetasl Staff on the Boiling Isles. I would have stole it ages ago."

Celestia held up the map to reveal a hidden blue message. "It even as off-brand inivble ink. You sure it's a trick to get to us?"

"Yeah, I been prank, bullied, and suckered enough in my world to know. I've learned enough when someone playing a trick on me to either use me or spite me and this guy seemed way to nice. Eventalluy I learn to fight back with karate and pulling some pranks of my own.

"Alright the map is bogus and the weirdo wants the two for something. What's next? Cause I say we ignore him."

"Hmm, you know what? I say we let Luz and Lana do their magic quest the wizard gave them but we'll tag along and follow them to see if this quest to see if it's the real deal."

"And if it's not?" Eda asked as Celestia smiles.

"Then us three will jump in a deal with this little wizard client if he tries something funny. That or we let Lana do the butt kicking if she wants," Celestia said.

"So to sum it up, We get to our quest which possibly lead to a trap for you and Celestia and then in the end we'll jump the wizard if tries to kill us?" Luz asks.

"Pretty much, but look at like this, it shows that I care for appreciate's safety," Eda said as she ruffles Lana's hair. "Even if one of them is a little sassmouth."

"Says. the bigger sassmouth," Lana smirked.

"That's what she said!" Luz giggle.

"Touche."

"But if you're going to go on this quest, you going to need armed," Celestia toss Lana a spear.

"Nice, believe it or not, I've watch a lot sword movies so much that i used them and learn from a book on spear fighting and apply to my martial arts. Of course, I has do it when Mom was not in the house."

'So, you're self train spear user, eh?" Celestia place a finger on her chin. "Interesting."

"Anyway, just be ready to jump when things go south."

Lana and Luz proceed to leave the door as Celestia smiles. Eda could tell that she had something plan when she look at Lana.

"I know that look, Celestia. What are you planning?" Eda asked.

"Let's just say that Lana might get something out of this," Celestia replied.

Timeskip

The twins went throught with the quest and surprisingly it went well just as they thought.

"So far so good," Luz said as the reach the holding place of the Celestail Staff.

"Muy bien, Eda y Celestia, será mejor que estén preparadas para lo que viene después," Lana said as she walks to staff.

Just as she was about to touch it, the staff disappears and thick fog appears, Lana did a small growl knowing she was right.

"Sometimes I hate being right," Lana grumbled as Luz hugged her feeling the pain as they got scammed big only this time her sister was involved.

Luz backed up then Lana armed the spear.

"Adegast! Show yourself you two-faced bastard!" Lana demaed.

"Luz and Lana, the humans," Adegast said as he came from the fog being more creepy.

"Cut the act, douchebag! We know it's a trap!" Luz said.

"So you caught on, have you?"

His eyes became dead and crossed like a doll. Steeping out of the fog was a large squid that hd a tenctale on its back both twins gulped just at the sight of it.

"I know we got tricked, but I didn't see this coming," Lana said.

"Uh… Eda!" Luz screamed.

"Hang on!"

"We're coming,"

Eda, King and Celestia came down on their staff and run to help them.

"I have you now!"

Three cat puppets came from the ground and grabbed them.

"Adegast! You won't get from conning our students!" Eda shouted.

"But I already have!"

"Eda, who's is the guy!?" Luz shrieked.

"He's no wizard, he's what'd you people called a puppeteer."

"Puppeteer?"

"Their demons who specailzes in scamming people through people," Celestia explains. "You called it, he was both to get to us."

"You did all of this, just to lure them?" Lana asked him.

"Correct! Your mentors have stole my customers from my potion op for years they must be destroyed!"

"Seriuolsy! Does everyone have a grudge on them?" Lana asked with the puppets nodded. "How many people in this world hate you guys?"

"A much better question is how many people date hate us?" Eda questioned.

"I can't even count on many enemies they have," King said.

"And you lured them into my trap, all becasue you were special."

"Joke's on you! I knew you pulling a con from the start, I'm not dumb as you think, You can't outcon a con," Lana secretly gave the sword to Luz.

"If you knew, then why did you came in the first place?"

"So we can do this!" Both of them said as they stab wizard pupplet throught the stomach making it go poof and Adegast screamed in pain forcing him to release Eda, Celestia and King.

"We are Witch's Apprentices."

"And we're going to earn our staff the old fashion way."

"Now face our wrath!"

The princess puppet ponces on Luz but she swings her sword and slices her in two making her go poof.

Three cat puppets approched Celestia. She draws a spell circle and send lighihng ball at them. They disintegrate with distorted screams as Eda fire flames at Adegeat making him cry out in pain.

Nervareth tries to blindslide Lana, but she was ready for her. She castches his sword with her spear and duels him excahing a couple of sword strikes before Lana disarms him and pludges the spear throught the chest making him disappear.

"Back off or the dog gets it!" Adegast warn them as he King in a tentacle.

"I'm not a…" King got covered by the tentacle.

Lana held the spear with one hand and tossed it with all her strength like javelin, sending it flying point first. The spear gets implaed into Adegast's head and he screams in agony, releasing King who is caught by Luz. The scream changes pitch as Adagest shrinks to size of human hand. Eda picks him who now a powerless puppter.

"Last time, I take outside referral," Eda said as she eats him then saw Luz and Lana frowning. "Did you guys want some?"

"No thanks, seafood gives me bad stomach," Luz said. "I'm just confused."

"Still upset about the whole fake quest?" Celestia asked Lana.

"Yeah, I mean I knew it was set up but it still hurts," Lana said to her.

"Think about calling it quits?"

"This place is nothing like I imagined…. Never I though it'd be so crushingly truthful."

"Maybe out here it is, But come with me. I got something to show you."

The two climbed on Celestia's staff and took off.

"Where are they going?" Luz asked.

"Heck if I know?" Eda commented.

The duo were riding Celestia's staff and Lana's is wearing a blindfold. Eventually the staff is parked in the sky.

"Okay you can look."

The moment Lana took off the blindfold she's amazed by the beautiful sight she's witnessing. '

"Whoa!" She saw the whole area of the Boling Isles, which decomposing body of a giant, laying on its back in the sea with its arms spread out. "Where are we?"

"The bones of the Isles. Up close, the Isles can be simly and stinky. But from a different view."

The two looked at the horn skull, where starts began to appear along with a shoot star passing through.

"It's beautiful, but why here?"

"Eda was trying to get you and Luz to understand of what both of us have gone through. Everyone wants to believe they're chosen but if we all wait around for prophecy to make us special we'd die waiting. And that's why you need to choose yourself. And what I've seen from your karate and weapon fighting your display is a good start."

"Thank. I guess this'll be a good start for me to get own staff in the future, huh?"

"It is, but…"

"But?"

"Even though I can't you give a staff, there is something I give you since your good with weapons."

Much later, Celestia guided Lana through a forest.

"Celestia, where are taking me now?"

"Let's just say the so called you went through has led you to claimin a reward after all. It ain't a staff but it's a very unique weapon. One that a kif who self taught himself how to fight and can see through cons like you deserves.

The two pass through arriving at the spot.

"Here we are."

"Wow," Lana stare in awe in the center of the cleating is a rock and stuck in was trident.

The trident was black having a shade of orange at the tips

"Is that an actual trident!?"

"Yes, it is quite the beauty isn't it? This trident is made from anti-magic materials and it'imbued with magical power that make it one of the strongest weapons in the Demon Realm.

"Really? Who forged it?"

"A close friend of mine. I haven't seen him in years. Last time I saw him he told to gives this trident who dersevers it."

"Does Eda know about this?"

"She does, but my friend put a spell on it to make sure no can remove not even me."

"If no one can remove it then why bring me?"

"The trident itself is protected that only a human can bypass apparently."

"Who in a world full of demons and monsters made a sword so freaking awesome only a human to use it."

"Who knows, I wanted to ask myself, but I didn't want to be nosy."

Lana stares at the weapons and to her cofusion in her head she's hearing voices.

"You okay?"

"I don't why but I feel as though this trident is calling out to me."

Lana approaches the trident, the closer she gets, the lounder the voices get. An blue barrier appears but Lana passes through. She stood in front of it for a few seconds and when she touches it the weapon flare up but it didn't harmed her. Her eyes glow purple for second then pulled it out with ease then she holded the trident.

"Now this is sweet!"
