I cannot begin to thank you all for sticking with me throughout this whole process and for taking the time to read this story of mine. Also, for those of you who've reviewed, thank you! I know there haven't been any recent reviews lately, but I still wanted to thank those of you who have left a comment :) It means a lot to know that this story has brought smiles to your faces, so thank you all so much for your support and encouraging words :) On a second note, I'm hoping to upload content for my other stories but it's been a slow process lately because I've been working on a rather tedious project that's been taking up the majority of my time. That, and life in general has been rather hectic lately. Regardless, I hope you all enjoy this latest chapter and until next time, stay safe, stay sane and stay awesome!)

Chapter 56

"Okay, so we now know the location of one of the primary M.E.C.H organizers and warehouses, but now the question is: when do we strike?"

"That's the tricky part," Colonel Pete Sanders answered with a frown as he glanced over at the silver Autobot's (human) holoform. "Our initial plan is to take the facility down from the inside so as to not cause severe external damage to neighboring structures and civilian residents. Our scouts have confirmed that five Vehicons are continuously patrolling around the perimeter, so getting past them will be difficult but not impossible."

"So why not just eliminate them," Sunstreaker asked in a neutral tone while Ironhide and Jazz sat nearby and observed their interaction.

"Because we don't want to alert M.E.C.H of our presence, nor do we want to endanger the civilians. Fortunately, we've been monitoring their patrol patterns for nearly a week before you four arrived; however, we still need a couple more days to prepare for the mission. We can't afford to overlook anything, nor can we afford to be careless," he added while making direct eye contact with the blonde-haired holoform as if trying to make his point clear.

Narrowing his eyes at the irritating human before him, Sunstreaker resisted the urge to throw him across the camp; however, he remained silent as this man wasn't worth arguing with. That, and a gentle pull from his brother's side of their bond kept him grounded…for now.

-Meanwhile-

Anwen was lying asleep in her bed when she suddenly awoke to the sound of Kenobi's low growling, to which she tiredly rubbed her eyes and reached over to her nightstand to check the time on her phone. Seeing that it was only 0210, a small frown lined her freckled face; however, she wasn't upset at her pup as she knew he wouldn't be acting so defensive unless he had a good reason to do so.

Slipping out of the warmth of her bed and donning her loafers/bread slippers (a Christmas gift from Liam...that cheeky bastard), Anwen tiredly exited the bedroom with Kenobi loyally following along beside her; however, as they entered the kitchen/living room, he approached the door and resumed his intense growling while the hairs along his back and rear stood straight up, indicating his strong dislike for whoever or whatever was on the other side. Raising a brow, the young ginger approached the door and looked through the peephole to see a male figure wandering through the hallway, causing her to emit a surprised gasp and tremble as said figure revealed himself to be none other than her stalker: LCpl Damon Ozron.

Backing away from the door, Anwen ushered Kenobi to follow her back into the bedroom where she immediately grabbed her phone and dialed Prowl's number:

*:Miss Bleu? It's a bit late to be calling. Is everything alright?:*

"..Prowl, he's here," she whispered into the phone while locking the bedroom door. "He's outside my apartment."

Given the unfortunate circumstances, the SIC knew exactly who she was referring to, to which he then spoke in a calm, collective manner, *:Are you somewhere safe?:*

"Oui. I've barricaded myself inside the bedroom with Kenobi."

*:Okay, I'm going to assemble a security team to search the building and apprehend him. Did you see if he was armed?:*

"No, I didn't get a good look because I only saw him through the peephole in the door. Please hurry."

*:Alright. I'll be there soon. Just stay on the line with me, okay?:*

"Oui," she nodded as Kenobi continued to fiercely growl and stare in the direction of the door while remaining beside her.

For the next fifteen minutes, Anwen stayed on the line with Prowl and listened as he led a security team through the building until she overheard a slight struggle as they apprehended Damon Ozron. When it was over, the SIC had his officers escort the LCpl back to base where he would then be taken over to the brig.

*:We got him, Anwen. He's being escorted off the premises and will be detained until he faces justice.:*

"..Merci," she heavily cried in welcomed relief while gently hugging Kenobi as he licked her cheeks.

*:Anwen, if it's alright with you, I'd like to come inside and assess your well-being.:*

*sniff* "Oui, that's fine." Seconds later, the call ended and there was a static sound, followed by the appearance of Prowl's (small-scale) holoform. Setting her phone aside and placing Kenobi on the floor, Anwen stood up and immediately hugged the SIC. "Merci beaucoup (Thank you so much)."

Seeing her relief and hearing it in her voice, Prowl felt his spark clench at the thought of what might have happened had she not been alerted of Ozron's presence and hadn't called him in time. Mentally shaking off those disturbing thoughts, the Praxion focused his attention on the young ginger in his arms, "It's alright, Anwen. He's being taken into custody and will soon face the consequences of his actions."

"I hope so," she answered with a slight tremor in her voice while tears freely rolled down her freckled cheeks.

"I'll make sure of it. I just wish I could have arrested him earlier so you wouldn't have had to endure further trauma."

Glancing up at him with glassy amber/cerulean eyes, she gave him a sympathetic look, "You didn't have enough evidence to warrant an arrest, and I'm sure you were still reviewing the surveillance footage when I called, correct?"

"Indeed," he answered with a nod. "I've been filtering through and piecing together footage from all over the base, trying to find further evidence to solidify your case and to see if he's stalked other women in the past few days or longer.

"..I wish Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were here," she tearfully stated while he gently hugged her in understanding. Like her, he too missed his mate, but with her and the twins' sparkbond being so new, it was even more distressing to be apart from them, especially after this whole stalker ordeal.

Venting out a sigh, Prowl grabbed a tissue from her dresser and wiped the tears from her eyes, "I know. I wish their assignment wasn't so vague when it came to the deployment length, but we can only hope they'll all return home safe."

-Back in Russia-

While they wouldn't be initiating their surprise attack on M.E.C.H for a couple more days, both Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were anxious. Not because of the impending mission, but because they were so far away from Anwen. Sure, they each had been apart from her during an assignment, but never both of them at the exact same time. It was maddening not being able to physically touch or see her. While they knew she was safe with their fellow Autobots nearby, they had a feeling that she needed them. Granted, they both had reached out to her through their shared sparkbond and inquired about her well-being a few hours ago, but they felt like something was wrong.

Observing the younger mechs from where he casually sat nearby, Jazz couldn't help but feel empathetic towards them as he understood their frustration. Both he and Ironhide knew all too well how difficult it was/is to be away from their sparkmates for lengthy periods of time, especially when the sparkbond is fairly new. He sympathized with the younger mechs and hoped this upcoming mission would go smoothly.

"Something on your processors," the weapons specialist asked the younger mechs while he meticulously cleaned his cannons.

Ceasing his current pacing, Sunstreaker vented out a sigh, "I'm worried about Anwen. When we spoke with her earlier, she sounded tense and anxious."

"That, and we've been feeling spurts of paranoia and fear through our shared bond, but when we asked her about it, she brushed it off and said it was nothing to worry about," Sideswipe added.

"Sounds like she's experiencing some withdrawals," he casually noted. "It's not uncommon for newly bonded couples to feel that way when they're apart from one another for extended periods of time."

"I don't know, something about it just didn't feel right."

"Well, she's got the others to look after her during your absence. I'm sure she'll be alright."

Both Sideswipe and Sunstreaker gave him a nod in agreement and silently hoped he was right and that Anwen was safe, despite being apart from them. Sure, she was tough and could handle herself well enough, but they still worried about her and mentally prayed to Primus to look after her during their absence.

Although Prowl had advised her to take a few days off to mentally recover from her traumatizing ordeal, Anwen politely refused and insisted that she'd be okay to attend work, which is where she was currently at. Typing away at her computer, she kept her mind focused on her current task rather than this morning's unforeseen and unwanted event. Did she want to crawl in a hole and hide for a week or two? Yes. However, she refused to let fear keep her from doing her job and clouding her mind.

Glancing over to see a mini Reese's cup land beside her mouse, the young ginger looked up to see Maggie brandishing a smile as she then handed her an entire bag of the sinfully indulgent treats. "Guess who picked up a bunch of discount Valentine's Day candy yesterday."

"Vraiment (Really)," she lightly chuckled as she graciously accepted said bag.

"Well, it was actually Liam's idea. He knew you'd appreciate it."

"That I do. Merci."

"Sure thing. By the way, did you hear that some guy was arrested for trespassing in the apartment building last night after curfew?"

Chewing up and swallowing one of her Reese's, Anwen suppressed her anxiety by smashing the tin foil wrapper into a ball and rolling it in between her fingers. As much as she wanted to tell Maggie what really happened, she just couldn't bring herself to do so at this time. That, and the office wasn't the most ideal place to be sharing such personal information. Too many ears and what not. Plus, knowing her, she'd probably storm over to the brig and rip LCpl Ozron a new asshole. Honestly, who could blame her?

Opting to avoid spilling out the truth right then and there, she merely nodded at her question: "I did. I'd hate to think what or who he was after."

"Same here. I'm just glad he was caught before anyone got hurt. What a phyco. To think he was lurking within the apartment building and looking for someone. It gives me the creeps just thinking about it."

Before Anwen could respond, the phone rang, to which she promptly answered, "Good morning. This is System Analyst Anwen Bleu of N.E.S.T Office 1 speaking; how may I help you?"

*:Good morning, Miss Bleu,:* Prowl greeted in a professional, yet caring tone. *:I was wondering if you'd be available to stop by my office and provide me with an account on last night's event that involved LCpl Ozron. While I understand you're at work right now, I insist we document your statement as soon as possible so we can move forward with the prosecution.:*

"I have a few priority emails to send off, but I can be there in about twenty minutes."

*:That's fine. I'll see you then.:*

Upon hanging up the phone, Anwen glanced up to see that Maggie had disappeared back behind her cubicle wall, to which she made a mental note to ask her to take her calls while she was out. With that, she resumed her current task and set to work replying to those priority emails.
