the fight

Logan woke up early, much earlier than the rest of the apartment he decided to just get up since it was such a big day ahead he honestly didn't know how they were gonna do it all.

Logan glanced down as he felt his phone vibrate.

G: DOGS! be at the studio at 7:30am for a MUSIC VIDEO SHOOT NO EXCUSES I've decided we're doing that first then the two interviews then the live event.

Logan sighed.

"Looks like I'm waking everyone up."

He said to himself as he checked the time he had just enough time to take a quick shower, brush his teeth and maybe grab something quick to eat but he'll have to wake up the guys in the middle of the process.

He rushed into the bathroom and quickly took off his shirt thinking about his mini argument with Kendall just the night before...

He just didn't understand what was happening between Kendall and James and it was frustrating him specially when Kendall and James are both so stubborn.

He shook off his thoughts and began to start his shower and his morning routine just a bit quicker than usual.

"Carlosssss"

Logan said a bit louder,

his hair was dripping down onto the Latino's face yet he was still out like a light snoring away.

Logan grained in frustration he didn't even have time to dry his hair let alone get dressed in a decent looking outfit.

he got caught up in his thoughts again while brushing his teeth.

"Guess I'll go try Kendall."

He mumbled and stomped out of Carlos's used to be shared room with...James.

"Shit, James!"

Logan realized as he left the room and quickly pulled out his phone and giving the brunette a call.

After the 4th ring Logan was losing hope but he was surprised to hear a groggy "hello?" from the other side.

"James! Fantastic are you even fully awake?"

Logan said frantically checking the time and heading to Kendall's bedroom door he slowly twisted the knob being grateful it wasn't locked...Kendall would sometimes lock his door specially if he was upset the night before.

"Uhhhh what now?"

James asked,

He seemed to sound even more tired.

Logan sighed.

"We have important things today remember? It's a big day so please hurry get up and do what you need to do and meet us at Rocqué Records."

Logan said urgently as he walked over to Kendall sleeping peacefully.

He almost didn't want to disturb him but he ended up giving him a soft shake on the shoulder.

"Kendallll."

Logan said quietly but enough for a silent room with a ticking clock in the background.

"Hmmm."

Kendall mumbled and rolled over facing Logan but keeping his eyes shut burying his face in his blanket.

"What's happening with Kendall?"

Logan almost forgot that James was still on the phone with his now that he remembered he could hear the sound of him brushing his teeth on the other line.

"He's just out like a light over here."

Logan sighed,

he swore he could almost hear James smiling at that comment.

"Have you even gotten Carlos up yet?"

James asked while spitting out his toothpaste.

"What do you think?"

Logan asked as he shook Kendall again but harder this time.

"Hmmm stoppp."

Kendall mumbled.

"We have to get up bud you have to get ready we have like no time..."

Logan said a bit of panic in his voice.

Kendall groaned and opened an eye to see Logan standing there with a phone up to his ear.

"Yeah he's waking up I think."

He heard Logan say as he opened his other eye and then slowly sat up rubbing his face.

"Is something wrong?"

Kendall asked as he yawned.

"Look at your phone,

Gustavo texted us."

Logan said popping Kendall's phone off the charger and handing it to him.

Kendall gasped.

"Shit Logan! I forgot to set my alarm!"

Kendall said and jumped out of bed.

"That's more like it even though...you were kinda cute sleeping like a baby."

Logan said without even realizing what came out of his mouth.

"I bet he was."

He heard James say then some keys jingling.

"I'll be at Rocqué Records in about 10 minutes I'm gonna let you go logan..."

"Wait since when can you drive?"

Logan asked confused.

"Who said I was driving?"

James said then Logan heard another voice in the background, sounding like a man or something.

"Uh I don't know I just thought I heard keys."

Logan said now wondering who James was with.

"Well maybe I got a ride,

see you Logan."

And with that James hung up.

"Why so defensive?"

Logan whispered to himself as he stared at his phone.

He saw that it was already nearing 7:30am

"Ughhhh Gustavo's gonna kill us!"

Logan yelled as he didn't even see Kendall in the room anymore, he must've got caught up in the phone call with James.

Logan heard distant yelling as he walked out from Kendall's bedroom and into the kitchen he then saw a slightly crying Carlos and a frustrated Kendall standing there eating toast.

"What's going on?"

Logan asked as he walked over to the little shoe closet they had.

"Carlos realllly didn't want to get up and face the world today he fought with me for about 10 minutes while you were on the phone with whoever."

Kendall said allowing some frustration out in his voice.

Logan frowned at the Latino sniffling picking at his toast yet dressed and ready.

"Carlos bud are you okay?"

Logan asked as he gently rubbed his back but Carlos pulled away.

"I'm not talking to you."

Carlos said and wiped his eyes.

Logan felt offended but then remembered that Carlos got upset at him for "keeping secrets" he's still upset at both him and James for that.

"We have to go."

Logan said towards Kendall,

Kendall seemed to be the only one who actually ate something that morning unless James did too, they of course wouldn't know.

"Oh, don't we need an adult with us to drive? I completely forgot."

Logan wondered why he was so forgetful today? He blamed it on the stress of his three friends were causing.

"We'll just have to do with a cab or something."

Kendall said grabbing the toast off of Carlos and making him get up off the kitchen stool and over to the shoes.

"We're already 20 minutes late."

Kendall sighed quickly ordering a cab from his phone.

"Just make sure we have everything before we leave like our wallets, phones, dignity? Sanity?"

Kendall rolled his eyes at Logan and opened the door.

The entire cab ride Carlos was silent he had his arms crossed over his chest, his helmet on pouting laying his head on the window of the random cab they got.

Meanwhile, Logan and Kendall were trying to think of things to tell Gustavo why they were just about 30 minutes late.

"I mean maybe if he or Kelly told us wayyy before a stupid text at 6:00am we wouldn't be late!"

Kendall expressed his anger Logan could tell he's still a bit sleepy.

"Well maybe we'll get some breaks today."

Logan suggested but he assumed not since it was such a busy day.

"I doubt it."

Kendall mumbled.

Logan didn't even realize how hungry he was until they were walking out of the cab his stomach growled.

He sighed and just about accepted his fate to suffer but knew that Carlos had to be hungry since they both didn't eat and he knew that Carlos will beg for food soon meaning he could try to ask too.

The three walked in to see James already having his hair and makeup done and a very angry Gustavo as well as a stressed Kelly.

"We're so sor-"

"I DONT WANNA HEAR IT! SIT AND WAIT FOR HAIR AND MAKEUP!"

Gustavo yelled loudly making Carlos whine and Kendall Logan huff.

Kelly immediately took notice to Carlos's abnormal mood.

"Wasn't easy getting them up?"

James asked Logan almost with a teasing smile.

"No, never between Carlos being the world's deepest sleeper and Kendall's sleepy stubbornness no it's not."

Logan said and James giggled a bit glancing over at Kendall who was getting concealer beaten underneath his eyes with a beauty blender so he was staring up at the ceiling.

"You guys know what's up with Carlos? He seems upset and just almost refusing everything I had to bribe him with a corn dog just for him to sit still."

Kelly said walking over and Logan's eyes lit up.

"Oh can I get something too? I'm sorry...I haven't ate."

James glanced in concern for a moment,

It must've been truly difficult this morning with the other two.

Kelly sighed and nodded.

"I'll get you some pancakes?"

She suggested and Logan nodded.

"I'll honestly take anything right now I'm starving."

"Okay just sit still and get makeup/hair done and I'll get you some."

Kelly said and Logan nodded.

"Have you eaten?"

Kelly asked James and he nodded.

"Yeah I didn't really even rush, I had time."

James said seeming to be texting someone.

"I think Carlos is just a mixture of things right now...I know he's upset with me and James but I think it's also him not getting enough sleep and not eating."

Logan sighed as he told Kelly.

"Well try to make him a bit happier? The last thing we need on this busy day is a constant pouting Carlos."

After makeup and hair was done on the three boys Gustavo ordered them to the set of their music video.

He passed out papers of lyrics just so they could practice a bit to warm up their voices for the day.

Carlos just wasn't having it today.

"I just don't want to..."

He said to Kelly as she rubbed his shoulders.

"Hey after everything today if you pull through I'll get you something special sound good?"

Carlos couldn't help but want to know immediately what she was suggesting thinking of maybe a new stuffie or more corn dogs so he smiled and nodded seeming a bit more bubbly.

Kelly sighed in relief and then let the four guys get to work on their music video.

After about 6 takes and recording different parts they already felt like they needed a break.

"Are we almost done? What time is the interviews?"

Logan asked Kelly.

"You're all almost done and the interviews are coming up in just about an hour or so."

Logan sighed.

"We really aren't getting breaks today."

After they were finally done with the music video Gustavo just let them wear what they were put in wardrobe for the set as they headed off to the first interview.

Carlos refused to sit by either James or Logan so he basically attached to Kendall like a lech.

"You're just not having a good day are you?"

Kendall asked Carlos who shrugged but accepted the hug Kendall eventually offered.

"I think what you need is more corn dogs, a couple naps and some video game time."

Carlos lit up to those words.

"But sadly today is a work day and if you're just as serious as us about this band then you have to focus okay? I promise you it'll be over soon and you can get some more rest and more food okay?"

Kendall said speaking to Carlos as if he was his little brother.

Carlos seemed okay with that answer and he nodded giving Kendall a soft smile.

"That was really sweet Kendall."

He glanced at the interviewer that was sitting across from them he didn't realize that it had already started he slowly let go of Carlos.

"Oh sorry..."

"No worries."

The interviewer smiled.

After two really long and slightly exciting but also burning interviews and some more press the guys finally had a bit of a break until it was time for the event they were going to which was a dinner.

"See that wasn't the worst thing in the world?"

Logan said as he plopped down onto a sofa.

"Uh yeah it was I could've been doing like 20 different other things than sitting there and listen to you guys talk for hours on end."

James said unexpectedly moodily.

"Like what?"

Logan snapped,

He knew something was up with James he just didn't confront him yet and he wasn't in the mood for James to suddenly act like this.

"You know...talking to girls...possibly modeling...getting acting parts...relaxing by the pool-"

"Talking to girls...ha yeah okay...and is that why we all left Minnesota to LA hm? for you to do just whatever you want while we work our asses off?"

Logan cut James off,

now getting a bit fired up he straightened his posture.

"I mean no but-"

"But what? How about you stop acting like it then and participate more in this band? I mean James you barely said anything the past two interviews doesn't really seem like you care at all anymore!"

Logan didn't mean to raise his voice but he was really upset at James for not being around and for the way he was acting.

Kendall and Carlos entered the room after they heard an angered Logan's voice.

James rolled his eyes.

"See maybe this is why I don't talk to you anymore because you never let me speak.

ever think of that genius? you're so predictable Logan-"

"Guys, what's-"

"If someone cuts me off one more fucking time!"

James yelled angrily as he turned around right at Kendall.

Kendall's eyes widened staring at James he backed away slowly.

"What's...happening..."

Kendall's voice was suddenly a whisper but James still picked it up.

Kendall usually wasn't the quiet one but he saw something in James's eyes that made him quiet Kendall has never seen James this angry and frustrated...

"There you go again James,

getting mad at us for simply wanting you to be here and include yourself in the band that I don't know we started together!"

Logan got up off the sofa.

James's fist clenched.

"We didn't start shit Logan.

Kendall did...I never said I wanted this..."

James said bitterly,

Kendall's eyebrows narrowed in confusion.

"Wait, what?"

He spoke up this time.

"James I started this so you can have your chance to shine I didn't wanna go without you guys..."

Kendall said feeling himself getting emotional but he swallowed the feeling.

What was really happening here?

Why was James so mad?

Kendall thought as he grabbed James arm but he quickly yanked it away.

"Why don't you just go and tell him the truth hm James? or better yet don't even worry about him Kendall he's clearly just jealous Gustavo wanted you and not him."

That set James off and his fist flew.

James punched Logan right in the jaw sending him falling backwards.

"James!"

"Logan!"

Both Kendall and Carlos yelled both names of the two guys who now seemed to be in a fist fight before they knew it because Logan immediately caught himself on the sofa and went after James.

"Whoa whoa whoa! What's happening!"

Kelly screamed as she ran into the room.

Freight Train ended up separating James from Logan as Kendall separated Logan from James holding onto him.

"Fuck you Logan! I hate you."

James growled.

"James.."

Kendall said trying to get his attention but nothing seemed to be working.

he always hated when his friends fought specially when they say stuff they don't mean.

"You're so self centered James you know maybe if you got your head out of your ass you would know how much this means to all of us! But no."

Logan spat blood out of his mouth as his continued trying to get out of Kendall's grip.

"You're too fucking selfish for your own good all you care about is your damn ego-"

"Everyone stop!"

Carlos screamed he had been sobbing for the time being and he just couldn't take it anymore.

"Just s...s..stop..."

Carlos sobbed and covered his face with his hands.

James wiped his bloody nose and still tried to fight his way out of Freight Train's grip but just like Kendall he wasn't letting up.

Kelly went to comfort Carlos she hugged him as he sobbed into her arms.

The two held the other two until they at least settled a bit Kendall hoped they felt bad for making Carlos cry so uncontrollably.

"I have no idea what has happened but everyone needs to calm down.

James and Logan you two need fix ups on your makeup and hair now we can't go to the event like this."

Kelly said still rubbing Carlos's back in small circles trying to soothe him the best she could.

"Who said I was going."

James said suddenly getting out of Freight Train grip when he least expected movement.

"You think I really wanna go and pretend none of this ever happened?"

James asked wiping his blooded nose once again.

He glared at Logan who seemed to look still angry yet defeated but then his eyes shifted to Kendall who looked like he was on the brink of bursting into tears which wasn't like Kendall.

"You just need to calm down.

if you need to go take a walk but be back here in 5 minutes and if you're not I'm sending someone after you."

Kelly stated now taking Carlos's helmet off of him as he rubbed his damp eyes.

With that James stomped out of the room.

Logan felt dizzy, a bit nauseous even as he slowly got up out of Kendall's grip he took one blow to the jaw which made his mouth bleed then one in his stomach and another on his head he had only gotten to hit James right in his nose and chest.

James was much bigger and stronger than him so he now didn't understand why he tried to even fight him he was proud of himself though when he saw blood running down his nose.

"Fucking asshole."

Logan grumbled taking a seat on the sofa tasting metallic between his lips.

Carlos had semi calmed down as he walked over to Kendall seeming to want to be held by his life long friend which Kendall agreed and held him until he fully calmed down telling him it was going to be okay but Kendall didn't even know if he should believe his own words.

"Okay Logan off to makeup and hair...James should be back in a couple minutes and i think you too should just stay away from each other for the rest of the night."

Kelly suggested and Logan sighed wanting to protest since now his stomach was hurting but went away.

"You two okay?"

Kelly asked noticing Kendall hasn't spoken a word since the fight happened.

"I...I think so..."

Kendall said quietly,

Carlos was nearly falling asleep in Kendall's arms even if they were standing up.

"How often do you guys get into fights like that?"

She asked.

Kendall sighed.

"It hasn't happened in a long time but once and awhile we get each other so upset it just happens...I'm not sure what caused them to want to bloody each other though we usually don't want to actually hurt each other...I guess it's just been too much today I don't know."

Kendall said thinking back on the past couple of days knowing Logan knew something about James but Kendall just didn't want to believe him...something's wrong though.

"Well please try to get them not to do that and also try and wake him up."

Kelly sighed rubbing Carlos's back who was now completely asleep.

The door suddenly opened again to show James walking into the room.

He still seemed pissed,

the blood on his nose had run down to his bottom lip and had dried.

Kendall stared at him he definitely didn't seem like himself.

"Kelly wants you in hair and makeup."

Kendall spoke up and James nodded glancing at him as he walked away.

"Carlos...time to wake up...again."

Kendall sighed shaking his sleeping friend in his arms moving over to the sofa.

Carlos hummed in annoyance and hugged Kendall tighter.

"Carlos we're not at home please wake up."

He spoke with frustration and noticed his helmet on the ground he got out of Carlos's grip and grabbed it.

Carlos whined as Kendall moved causing him to almost fall off the sofa.

"Hmmm why?"

Carlos said as he opened his eyes just as Kendall placed his helmet on his head.

"Oh wait maybe Kelly took this off because of the event..."

Kendall said about to take it off again but Carlos refused.

"Are James and Logan still fighting?"

Carlos asked almost mumbling.

Kendall sighed.

"Well hopefully not at the moment but we do still have to go to that event and...hopefully nothing else will happen come on."

Kendall grabbed Carlos's arm and pulled him into the room where everyone else was.

James and Logan's faces were now clean and reapplied with makeup and hair was fixed too they looked good as new as if nothing even happened...

"Carlos...helmet."

Kelly groaned as she walked over,

Carlos simply listened, took it off and handed it to her which surprised her but she didn't question it.

It was the extremely awkward silence that was making Kendall go crazy as they were all escorted into the car to head to the event, he couldn't stand silence mostly because he's been around chaos all his life.

Yet none of the boys were speaking not even Carlos they just all seemed fed up with each other.

Kendall glanced over at James who seemed to be looking straight ahead he decided to poke his arm.

James glanced over and Kendall secretly gave a small wave with his hand and a slight smile.

James shrugged and shifted which made Kendall completely shut down...he knew he shouldn't have tried with everything that's happened today.

James regretted being rude to Kendall after seeing his reaction, he was now being mean for no reason Kendall didn't do anything.

"Sorry..."

James whispered,

Logan snapped his head over at James.

"To who?"

Logan spoke up.

James rolled his eyes.

"Not to you obviously."

He grumbled.

Logan was just happy he was currently sitting beside Carlos.

Kendall laid his head back and sighed.

After the painfully silent ride the group was taken inside a fancy restaurant where they would meet some important people according to whatever Griffin had invited, he mostly just wanted to show the boy band off and talk about how successful they were becoming.

"I'm so excited to eat!"

Carlos said bouncing in his seat making Kendall chuckle a bit, Logan and James still didn't speak only when spoken to but Kelly reminded them to get the looks and glares off their faces before people think it's rude.

After a bit Kendall kicked James's foot under the table which made him glance at him and raise his eyebrows Kendall motioned over to the bathrooms and James sighed wondering what Kendall was doing.

James announced he was going to the bathroom and shortly after Kendall did too.

Kendall walked in seeing James standing there and crossed his arms over his chest.

"What?"

James asked a bit annoyed.

"What the fuck has been your problem today?"

Kendall asked clearly not in the mood for James's attitude.

He shrugged.

"I mean James you literally punch Logan in the face."

Kendall said and James scoffed.

"He deserved it."

Kendall shook his head.

"What do you mean he deserved it?

We've never beat each other like that when we're mad?"

"Uh yes we have Carlos has blooded me before and I wasn't going to stand there and let Logan act like an asshole to me."

"Well were you the one acting like one first?"

Kendall asked.

"Why are you defending him so much?"

James asked.

"I could tell you were in a mood just from the way you were during interviews so I don't think Logan's the one that started anything."

Kendall shrugged.

"Whatever I didn't come in here to fight with you."

James said trying to leave but Kendall stopped him.

"What's going on."

He looked into his eyes.

"What do you mean 'what's going on?'"

Kendall sighed biting his lip.

"Logan told me he overheard a conversation you had on a phone with someone mentioning me...sounded like-"

James's heart started beating faster as he listened to Kendall.

"You seriously believe that liar?"

James cut him off.

"Oh really? Logan's the liar when you're the one who lied to me that day about Carlos wanting his pink smoothie?"

Kendall confronted getting more frustrated with James.

James sighed.

"I must've misread a text or something Kendall why do you feel like attacking me when today has already been so stressful?"

James complained.

"Who said i was attacking you i just feel like I would want to know why my...b..boyfriend...is acting so weird and mean to everyone around him?"

Kendall said directly saying boyfriend a bit quieter.

"Maybe I'm just not in the mood today..."

James mumbled.

"Well that's obvious but you can't go around acting like that to our best friends? I just think maybe if we all hang out with each other again like we used to maybe it would help with some of the things the other two are resenting to you."

Kendall said with a bit of desperation in his voice he looked down and subconsciously started playing with James's jacket zipper.

"You scared me today..."

Kendall said quietly.

James frowned.

"I'm sorry Kendall...I didn't mean to yell at you..."

He sighed and rubbed his face.

James leaned over and kissed Kendall's forehead causing Kendall to glance at him.

"I just want you to open up to me more maybe..."

Kendall said slowly leaning into James for a hug placing his head on his shoulder.

James immediately wrapped his arms around Kendall grateful Kendall made a move because he certainly felt like he needed a hug today.

"I think I'm just going through something..."

James mumbled, Kendall lifted his head up to face him.

"Then talk to me James,

I'm right here...I'm suppose to be the person that you can talk to when you're struggling...you've been so distant specially with the other guys...I just don't know why."

Kendall said sadly.

James sighed and looked at Kendall.

"Not today...not in the middle of a bathroom of a fancy restaurant that our boss's boss made us come to.."

James slightly chuckled making Kendall giggle and roll his eyes.

"Sometime soon then please?

I just wanna help James.."

Kendall said looking at him.

James smiled a bit leaning in to kiss Kendall which Kendall gladly accepted until a couple seconds later the door open and Kendall's heart leaped so fast as well as his body off of James.

It was so sudden he nearly fell over.

A middle aged man walked in and glanced at the two, Kendall immediately pretended as though he was washing his hands and James began to fix his hair in the mirror as the man went along with his business.

"Fuck that was close."

Kendall whispered grabbing some paper towels to dry his hands.

"You nearly bashed me in the nose with your head...already had that happen once today don't really need it again."

James joked and Kendall groaned in frustration storming out of the bathroom.

His anxiety was definitely higher than normal at the moment.

"What took you two so long? You missed two conversations with Griffin's people."

Logan said as he finally saw the blonde and brunette walk back over to the table.

"Just had a conversation..."

Kendall mumbled clearly physically shaking and Logan immediately took notice.

"What'd you do to him because I swear James if you-"

Kelly lightly smacked Logan's arm.

"Stop it.

Right now."

She growled to Logan.

Carlos slowly chewed on his delightful dessert that Kelly got him once was his reward from her for putting up with so much today.

James sighed.

"I didn't do anything Logan,

his anxiety is just high."

James said trying to finish his food.

Kendall nodded in agreement.

"Yeah this whole day has just raised my anxiety completely sorry Logan I just can't help it..wouldn't exactly be great if I had an attack right in the middle of this event would it?"

Kendall said chuckling slightly before taking a deep breath and exhaled trying to slow his heart rate down,

Logan nodded.

"I'm sorry hopefully we can get back to the apartment soon and just rest."

Logan said glancing at James again.

James rubbed the back off Kendall's neck slightly before taking a drink of water.

Back at the apartment Jennifer was surprised to see James enter the room.

"Oh hi sweetie I haven't seen you in a while!"

She said smiling and giving him a hug then doing the same to the other three.

"You all look so worn out."

She pouted.

They all nodded.

"Yeah I think we're just gonna take showers and call it a night."

Kendall said,

his mom nodded.

"Okay get some rest and make sure you brush your teeth!"

She called as they all began to walk away.

"Is it okay if we share the bed tonight?"

James suddenly ask as they walked into kendall's bedroom.

"I don't see a problem with it I'll probably be out like a light."

He said,

James smiled immediately and chuckled.

"Just like this morning..."

He commented.

Kendall was confused.

"What?"

"Logan said you were 'out like a light' on the phone this morning."

"Oh so he was on the phone with you then I was wondering who he was talking to."

Kendall said walking over to his closet and grabbing some pjs which was a plain shirt with some sweatpants.

"Yeah he called to wake me up...you taking a shower first?"

James asked,

Kendall nodded.

"Are you and Logan gonna be okay?"

Kendall asked,

James sighed and shrugged his shoulders.

"I honestly don't know...now that I've calmed down I noticed how angry I made him...he usually keeps his cool."

"Well you were a bit of a douche..."

Kendall said and James gasped.

"How dare you?"

He pouted.

Kendall shrugged and walked into the bathroom.

"Feel free to look in the closet for some of your clothes I think some might still be in there."

James heard Kendall from the bathroom and got up to do so.

He checked his phone.

"What did I get myself into."
