"Hey Nova! Are you coming?!" Ginny called.

"Yep, just give me a sec!" Nova called, grabbing her headphones and iPod.

Unlike some, Nova didn't care that she was muggleborn. She didn't turn around to the whispers and looks, instead she owned it. And she helped others own it too. Some people thought she was weird and targeted her for speaking out. That never stopped her.

Nova, Ginny and Luna were the best of friends. Harry, Ron and Hermione were often known as the 'Golden trio,' But they were their own trio.

Ginny and Nova met Luna outside the great hall every morning to have breakfast together. They would alternate between sitting at Ravenclaw and Gryffindor table. Today was a Saturday and they were also going to sit at the house of red today.

"So, what did you too starlight dreamers do last night hmmm?" Ginny questioned, lowering her voice as they sat down near Ron and Harry.

Ginny knew about Luna and Nova's midnight hangouts but said that she needed her beauty sleep when they asked her to join them. The more time Nova and Luna spent outside at night, the more well rested they seemed to be.

It was their first week back of their second year. So far, the trio's favorite class was DADA because of their new professor. This year he was not a fraud or have an evil persons face on the back of their head so that was already a huge plus.

"Oh, you know, the usual." Giggled Luna.

Nova was bopping her head to the music as she reached out to spread some jam onto her bread.

"Hey, mudblood! What kind of trash are you listening too?!" Malfoy shouted from the Slytherin table.

"Nothing that your arrogant, self-obsessed gang would like!" Nova countered, effectively silencing the Slytherins that had only just started laughing.

Ginny high-fived her from under the table.

"Have you seen Mione's timetable? She has two classes at the exact same time!" Ron said to Harry just as Hermione entered the great hall.

"She doesn't like to be called 'Mione' you know. Shes told you that like a hundred times Ronald!" Ginny said reprimanding her brother.

"What don't I like to be called Gin? Oh, hey Luna, Nova!" Hermione said as she sat down, grabbing something to eat.

Harry and Ron turned to the two girls mentioned as if they only just realized that they were there. Nova and Luna were often ignored like that, not they minded. They only people who saw them where Ginny and Hermione, as well as those that Nova helped overcome their bullies.

"Argh, he called you Mione again." Ginny said, not even bothering with a name anymore.

"Said something about your timetable, but I say to mind your own business, Ron!" Nova said glaring at Ron. The boy really had no idea what empathy was, especially when it came to girls.

Hermione rolled her eyes and started a conversation with Nova.

The trio knew about Hermione's secret, and they promised not to tell anyone else, by orders of Professor McGonagall.

"You, ok? You seem a little tired." Nova pointed out. Luna nodded, saying "Your head is full of wrackspurts, they make your head fuzzy over time you know."

Hermione, Nova and Ginny all started to laugh, "Don't ever stop being you, Luna." Ginny said smiling with all of the girls.

"I don't plan to Ginny." Luna replied, grinning.

Harry and Ron decided to leave the girls to do their thing.

"How can you stand to be around them all the time. Don't you feel like exploding?" Ginny asked once they had left.

"Ugh, you have no idea. They always seem to shut me out and then when they need my help with homework they go 'welcome back!'. It annoys me to no end, heck even more than Malfoy!" Hermione said.

"Worse than Malfoy? Now, that's saying something." Nova said sympathetically.

"We can help you get rid of those wrackspurts!" Luna said, excitedly.

"Thank guys but I really have a lot of work to do." Hermione said, grabbing her books, most likely heading to the library.

"What about next week? Saturday?" Ginny asked hopefully.

"Sure." Hermione answered.

"Hey, I was meaning to go to the library anyway, I wanted to look something up. Mind if I join you?" Nova asked.

"Not at all." Hermione replied with a smile. "If you need help with work, you know where you can come find me."

"Ok, catch you guys later!" Nova said, walking out of the great hall towards the library.

Hermione and Nova spent the rest of the day at the library. Nova first finished all her homework that she had gotten and then went to find a specific book. Hermione still had more work to do being one year above them and taking all of those extra classes.

Nova was walking around in one of the sections in the library about lunar magic. She pulled out a book called 'Lunar Bonds' and went back to join Hermione who was reading a huge book on Arithmancy.

"What did you find?" Hermione asked, not looking up from her book.

"A book on Lunar magic and bonds. Me and Luna have a strange connection with the night sky." Nova said casually.

Hermione looked up surprised. "You can do Lunar magic?" She questioned.

"Well, that's what I am trying to figure out. Ginny passed up on the Midnight adventures me and Luna have every night, but you can join." Nova said hopefully. She always loved time with Luna but wanted to share the experience with her friends.

"Umm, sure I can try too whenever I am not busy, where do meet?" Hermione asked.

"Astronomy tower, kind of the obvious choice for looking at the sky." Nova replied, opening her book.

Chapter 1: Understanding Bonds.

There are many types of Bonds in the Wizarding world that most people never look into. There are blood bonds, soul bonds, family bonds, lunar bonds and quite a few more. These happen when two or more people share a connection through a specific thing.

Nova skipped through that section, she knew what bonds were, she just wanted to find out if Luna and her had a Lunar bond.

Chapter 6: What is a Lunar Bond?

A lunar bond often occurs when two people are born under a full moon and have a strange connection with the night sky. Whether they know it, or not Lunar bonded people tend to find energy through the Moon rather than needing sleep. Furthermore, the two people could have Lunar magic. This means that they can control certain aspects of the night sky. This could range from control of the stars, colours, moon, tides and more. But no one with Lunar magic will have the same powers as one that is living in their time. Lunar bonds are extremely rare because they are natural unlike some other bonds that can be created. The chance of someone being born with Lunar magic is really obscure, it is said that there are only two born in every 10 generations.

Nova looked up, thinking.

"Well? Did you find anything?" Hermione asked finishing her work.

"Yes, I'll tell you about it when we go to dinner come on." Nova said, grabbing her book and pulling Hermione up.

"Wait it's already dinner?" Hermione questioned.

"Yes, you can sit with us at Ravenclaw table." Nova replied, as Hermione put all of her books into her book bag.

The two of them made their way over to the great hall.

"Nova, I haven't sat at Ravenclaw table before, are you sure it is ok to do so?" Hermione said nervously.

"Sure, it is, me and Ginny do it all the time. The professors love seeing a little house unity, well apart from Professor Snape. "Nova replied, walking into the great hall.

The two girls made their way over to the house of blue's table, where Luna and Ginny were already seated.

"Ha! you convinced her to come join us, way to go Nova!" Ginnny laughed. "It's time you had a break from those egg heads." Ginny indicated at the boy's over at Gryffindor table that hadn't even known she wasn't there.

"I guess I do need some other friends. Some that actually get me." Hermione sighed.

All three of the girls around her nodded.

"Hey, look at what I found in the library!" Nova said excitedly, showing them all the book.

After reading the page ginny looked up. "You really think you two have Lunar magic?" She questioned.

"Well, we can find out tonight. You two want to join us? Tomorrow is a Sunday anyway; we don't have to wake up early." Nova asked.

"Sure, I'm in. I can look into it a bit more if you want." Hermione suggested.

"Your head will be filled with even more wrackspurts then. Don't push yourself, you have enough going on." Luna countered, the other girls agreeing.

"But I can just get a few extra hours to-" Hermione started before Ginny countered.

"Don't you dare! You will be ruined by the end of the term!" She exclaimed, not wanting to see one of her best friends in such a state. They all knew how she could get if pushed too far.

"Fine." Hermione grumbled.

"So, are we meeting tonight?" Nova questioned.

They all nodded in response, "Great, you all know where to meet ok?" Nova asked, confirming.

The rest of dinner the girls talked about how they could meet up more often and also let Harry and Ron spend more time with Hermione as a friend. The girls agreed that Harry and Ron should be a little more considerate to any girls really.

That night Hermione, Nova and Ginny met up in the common room at 11:55 pm and made their way out of the portrait hole.

A/N I know the characters are really OOC but that's ok for now. There might be Harry and Ron bashing later on so if you don't like that then you can stop reading.
