Epilogue

Dearest Satoru,

How are you? I heard the place you've settled in now is a wonderful and magical one, with green hills stretching out as far as the eye can see and beautiful lakes where you could swim to your heart's content. Please say hello to my mother, father and all my siblings and tell them I love them and that I miss them so much.

As for me, well I'm doing just fine here in Cathar. The villagers welcomed me with open arms, and I was treated very warmly as if I was already a part of their community. It was a little difficult at first, settling in on my own but I persevered and I'm as happy as I can be. I've also made lots of friends here, such as the nice old lady next door who always makes sure I'm well-fed every day and the owner of the grocery shop, who always has the freshest ingredients ready for me.

Anyway, I suppose I could also tell you what has transpired over the past year. Well, to start with some good news, the plague has suddenly ceased to exist. From what I've heard, it's apparently because the parasites eventually found out that people are incompatible and make for poor hosts, so they have since stopped. A doctor from the region's kingdom had also found a cure that had successfully treated the plague. Although many have died, it is safe to say the world is healing and I hope it never resurfaces again.

And speaking of good news, have you heard? Gigi and Julian have recently gotten married! Isn't that exciting? Sadly, they didn't hold a grand ceremony as I had initially hoped for but still, I'm very happy for them. Those two deserve it and I heard they're still active hunters.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Camilla. Her injuries had obviously proven too severe, and she had retired from hunting out for her own safety and to focus on her family. She still sends me letters though, alongside a few pictures of her very adorable son.

And what of Leon you may be wondering? He has recovered from his illness thanks to the timely intervention of the doctor I mentioned. Last I heard, he had been traveling the world to honor a promise he made back then. The latest letter he sent told me that he had hitched a ride to the New World and had become part of the Research Commission's exploration team.

It has been a year since everyone has gathered and though it pains me, I hope that one day we could all meet again.

I want to end this letter by once again saying that I miss you. I miss my parents and my siblings. I cherished the time we spent together and will never forgive the world for taking you all away from me so soon. Until then, I'll live the rest of my life in peace till the day I can meet you all again.

Love, Yuna
