The State Verses Derek Morgan Ch 77

After a couple of contractions JJ and Emily quietly walked out of the room so that Penelope and the others could concentrate on bringing the baby into the world and nothing else. Fran had told Derek to get behind his wife and let her support her back against his chest before the contractions started getting too bad and he was so glad that he did because he was able to support his wife's exhausted body for her.

Fran looked up and said, "this baby is definitely Derek's", he looked at her and said, "what do you mean momma?", she laughed and said, "he or she is as stubborn as you were the day you were born". Penelope said, "how long were you in labor?", Fran said, "with Sarah almost 50 hours, Derek was tougher it was almost 60 with him but my baby, Desi, she was out in less than 2 hours from the time my water broke".

Penelope and Derek looked at her as she said, "you'll learn that each child and each pregnancy will be different, I doubt that you'll have two that will be the same", Penelope blew out a deep breath as she felt another contraction coming on. She started pushing and she pushed and pushed until Fran told her to stop, she then collapsed against her husbands chest and blew out a few deep breaths as he wiped her forehead.

Derek said, "you are doing so good sweetness, it won't be long now and we'll get to see and hold our baby", with tears of joy streaming down her cheeks she said, "I love you", he kissed the top of her had and said, "and I love you baby girl". Dave had just walked back into the living room, he'd taken the boys into the library on the other side of the house so that they could watch movies and be as far away from the action as possible.

JJ and Emily were talking about when Jack and Henry were born, how Emily's labor was only about 10 hours compared to JJ's 22 hours, they had both remembered how nervous they were the day their children were born and they knew that Derek and Penelope were probably feeling the same way about now.

Dave looked at the group in the living room with him and said, "alright who says that she's gonna have a boy?", Hotch, Dave and Anderson were the only three to raise their hands in the air. When he asked how believed it was going to be a girl everybody else raised their hands proudly and nodded their heads yes in agreement that she was going to have a girl.

JJ said, "Garcie told me that she didn't care about the sex of the baby, she said that the only thing that mattered to her was that she had a healthy baby", Emily nodded her head and said, "that's what Aaron and I said too". Reid said, "I knew from the second JJ told me she was pregnant that we were going to have a son and I even told her so", JJ said, "yeah, yeah he did and he was right, he was also right about Jack so he'll probably be three for three with this baby too".

Penelope had now been in labor and ready for delivery for over an hour, you could tell by the way she was screaming out with each contraction that she was exhausted and was oh so ready for the baby to come. The family was all talking about what to do for Christmas in a few months when they heard the most beautiful sound in the world, they heard the cry of baby Morgan as he or she entered the world.

They all then made their way down the hall toward the bedroom and when they stepped into the room they heard Fran say, "congratulations mommy and daddy, it's a girl" as she handed the baby over to her mommy and daddy so that they could hold her for a few minutes before the medics arrived to take them both to the hospital.

As the family stood there smiling down at the beautiful little girl Reid said, "ha, I'm three for three", Derek grinned and said, "congrats pretty boy", he grinned and said, "sooooo, do you have a name for her yet?", Penelope said, "we do, we would like to introduce to you all Olivia Francine Morgan", Fran smiled and said,"awwww honey, I'm honored, truly honored".

Penelope said, "we wanted to name her after two amazing women because without Olivia helping me I never would have survived and without you Fran she wouldn't have been delivered here right now". Fran smiled and said, "we'll step out and give the three of you some time to bond" and after they left the trio alone it was only a matter of a few minutes before the sound of a siren got closer and closer to them and the newest member of the clan Olivia Francine Morgan.
