Day 7 – Patience (the ability to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset)

It's been six months since Laxus almost kissed her. Six months since she left and went back to her place to gather her thoughts because she couldn't do that being in the same vicinity as him. The only time they saw each other was at the guild. They didn't actively avoid each other, they still talked but not as much as they used to.

According to Evergreen Laxus freaked out thinking he scared her away for good. Lucy had talked to Evergreen about her growing feelings for Laxus and Evergreen told Laxus enough to convince him that he didn't screw things up. Thankfully, Ever was able to talk him down and explain that while yes it freaked her out, it gave Lucy a lot to think about.

During one of her talks with Evergreen, Lucy brought up Laxus's reputation. Evergreen had told her she understood why that would be a worry, but to trust her when she said that Laxus hadn't been with anyone since a month prior to what happened between her and Natsu. Lucy thinks back on the past year and realizes that he didn't have any time to go be with anyone else, well she can't say for sure for two of the six months. But Evergreen wouldn't lie to her, she knows she wouldn't, even to cover for Laxus.

Lucy sighs as she finishes getting dressed and checks herself out in the mirror, happy with what she sees.

It's been a crazy ride, that's for sure. A year ago, she was happily dating Natsu, going on more adventures, and experiencing new things then she had her heart crushed by said man who has always hated seeing her cry and beat up the ones responsible.

She's had friends, old and new, by her side, helping her through everything. While she's not completely put together, she's doing much better and a lot of it is thanks to one man.

KNOCK KNOCK

One VERY patient man.

"Coming!" After two months Lucy had come to realize how much she missed Laxus. The way he would silently be by her side until she was ready to talk. When she was mad he would make her spar with him to let it all out then lend her his shoulder when she cried. She missed his humor, the way he would playfully tease her. She missed his smile, the one she noticed that he reserved for her. Everything seemed to flow naturally when she stayed with him. She missed the man in general. So, when she asked to speak to him privately four months ago, that started the beginning of their own adventures together. She had never been so forward before, but he didn't mind. Nope, he didn't mind when she kissed him the second the door was closed.

"Yo Lucy!"

Lucy opens the door, "Sorry." Anything else she was going to say flies out of her mind as she takes in the sight of Laxus. Hot damn! Just when she thinks the man couldn't be any more attractive, she gets proven wrong.

Laxus reaches out and rubs the corner of her mouth with his thumb, "you got a little drool there."

Lucy snaps out of her stupor, "Hey! You're no better!"

Laxus just shrugs. He won't deny it, he's been drooling over her for a long time. "You ready?"

"Yup!" After Lucy locks up and when they're headed out of the building Lucy asks, "So where are we headed?"

Laxus wraps his arms around her, giving her a soft smile, "It's a surprise."

Lucy hangs on for the ride and when they land she's laughing. "Oh my god, I don't think I'll ever get sick of traveling that way. It's always so much fun."

"Glad to hear it." Laxus gives her a peck on the lips. "Now turn around."

When Lucy turns around she is left speechless, "Wow, the view…"

"It's my favorite spot to be when I want to be alone or when I need to relax and clear my mind."

Lucy stays where she's at, admiring the view, "You're sharing this with me?"

Laxus wraps his arms around her, chin resting on top of her head, admiring the view with her. "I want to share everything with you."

"Lax-"

Laxus gives her a gentle squeeze, "Don't worry, this isn't a marriage proposal. I want you to know where I stand Lucy. I've always liked you and for a long time, I thought I was going to have to sit back and watch you be happy with Natsu. While I'm not glad as to the reason why, I am glad that I get this chance with you." Laxus holds on to her tighter when she tries to get out of his hold. He's not going to let her go until he's said everything he needs to say first. "The more time I spent with you, getting to know you, the more I started to fall in love with you. I'm in this for the long haul, I always have been. I won't ever betray you, ever. I promise you that. I promise you that you can trust me with your mind, body, and soul. I love you Lucy Heartfilia." He lets go and waits to see if he has sent her running again. When she turns around he sees that she's crying and he's unsure if they're happy tears or not.

Lucy turns around and gives Laxus a watery smile, "are you sure that wasn't a marriage proposal?" She sees she's made Laxus blush and then look down at the ground in embarrassment. She wipes her tears away and then holds his head up so she can kiss him. "I can't say that I love you, not yet. But I can promise you that you can trust me as well with your mind, body, and soul Laxus."

Laxus holds on to Lucy, hands on her hips. "There's no hurry, Lucy, as long as I have you that's all I need."

Lucy wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him down further to kiss him, but because he's so much taller, he lifts her up to make it easier on both of them.

The kiss gets heated, and they break apart when Lucy accidentally rubs herself on Laxus causing them both to moan. He helps her down so she's standing on two feet again. He would love for them to continue but a) he doesn't want to rush her if she's not ready and b) he doesn't want to have her his first time outside.

Lucy on the other hand is thinking differently. "Laxus, I can't wait any longer."

"Are you absolutely sure you're ready?"

"Yes, I'm sure." Lucy begins to take off her dress and is confused when Laxus stops her.

"Not here. Let's go back to my place where I can take my time with you."

"Okay."

Laxus grabs a hold of her and plants his lips on hers before he zaps them out of there.

4 Years Later

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Everyone cheers as Ichiya uses a parfum to grow taller to kiss Anna. He now gets his suits specially made so that won't tear. When they walk down the aisle together, Laxus and Lucy meet up with each other.

It came as a surprise when Ichiya asked Laxus to be his best man and not one of the Trimen. It was no surprise when Anna asked Lucy to be her maid of honor.

Laxus puts his arm around Lucy's shoulder and walks out of the cathedral to zap back to the guild beating everyone there. Everyone thought it would be a good idea to hold the event in Magnolia, where the residents are accustomed to the destruction from the wild parties the fairies throw.

Laxus leads her over to the bar and they get seated waiting on everyone. "So how does it feel to have Ichiya as your Uncle now?"

Lucy elbows him, "he's your Uncle now too." To make things simpler, Anna had told Lucy to just refer to her as her Aunt. She's too young to be considered a grandma. Not long after she said that her adopted dragon slayer kids started having children of their own.

"What the hell?" Laxus rubs his ribs like it actually hurt him.

"We're married Laxus, so now he's Uncle Ichiya to you too." Lucy smiles thinking this is going to be too good. She's long accepted Ichiya was now going to be her Uncle. While he may be a little weird, he's a good man.

Laxus gives her a glare, "I am not calling him that."

She just shrugs, "No one said you had to."

Laxus changes the subject and rubs Lucy's belly, "How's our girls doing?" He feels them rolling around in Lucy's belly.

"They're doing good, they've been getting more active."

After a year of dating Laxus, Lucy officially moved in with him, she was there most of the time anyway. Two years later he proposed to her at their special spot, and not long after that they got married. Not only is their one-year wedding anniversary coming up but in about three months they'll be welcoming two blonde girls into the world. Three months into their marriage they found out she was pregnant. They weren't planning to have children that soon, they never really talked about it. Laxus did want children and wanted to talk to her about it but was apprehensive about bringing the subject up. Lucy wasn't sure when she thought she would be ready, but when she saw the positive sign on the test she knew then that she was. She doesn't recall ever seeing Laxus more ecstatic than he was when he found out the news. They talked about baby names and had little disagreements over it. When they found out they were having twins, two little girls, they both agreed they could each pick out a name. Lucy decided on Layla and she thought Laxus would go with Mavis but he surprised her by naming the second girl Rita, after his great grandmother.

Laxus brings Lucy out of her reverie by giving a light tug to her hair. "And how's mama?"

"Tired, feet hurt, and got massive heartburn."

Mira couldn't have had more perfect timing and handed Lucy a glass of milk. "It's a good thing you don't have morning sickness."

Laxus walks Lucy and her glass of milk to a table that Freed had put around to keep danger (flying chairs, people, etc.) out.

Laxus grabs Lucy's legs after she sits down to rest her feet on his lap. Since this is a normal occurrence when she complains about her feet she automatically turns. If she's not careful she could fall asleep.

Laxus can see Lucy's eyes starting to get droopy, so he grabs her glass to set it on the table. His foot rubs always put her to sleep. "You know Anna and Ichiya won't care if you want to go upstairs to take a nap."

"But I'm the maid of honor, I need to make a toast."

"Maaaan, that's not necessary Lucy," Ichiya shows up out of nowhere and sits down, Anna follows in suit next to him.

"He's right Lucy, if you need to go rest, go rest." Anna gently pats Lucy's shoulder.

"mmmkay."

Laxus catches her before she falls over in her chair and lifts her up to take her to his office to lay her down on his pullout.

Once she's comfortable he lays down next to her thankful for everything he has in life. A beautiful wife, two baby girls on the way, and a wonderful, crazy family.

"Hey Laxus," Lucy mumbles.

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

"I love you too Lucy." He gives her a kiss and then falls asleep next to her.

Later Makarov goes up to check on the two and his face lights up when he sees Laxus curled around Lucy, hand on her belly. He thinks about how far his grandson has come. He's really happy he's lived long enough to see him settle down and start a family.

"I'm proud of you Laxus." Makarov doesn't hear Laxus mutter a thank you Grandpa when he leaves the room to go back to the party.
