Jordan arrived at pack central to find a small package waiting for her. She recognized Adrian's handwriting immediately, she opened it to find products that she already missed from New Orleans. She then pulled a note out.

"Jordan, I know moving across country had to be difficult for you. I am so sorry for what you went through to lead you to this move. I wish you the best and I want to reassure you that we have learned from our mistakes and will move on stronger as a pack as we hope you will as well. I know Adam and his wolves will do what we should have done. They will build you up to be stronger than you've ever been, let them Jordan, let them be the light that will make you shine the way we never could."

Adam watched as Jordan wiped the tears from her eyes. He sat beside her and placed a hand on her shoulder, as the Alpha it was his job to lead and protect the wolves in his pack and Jordan was no exception. Having an omega would mean the Colombia Basin Pack could flourish as long as she was well versed in the use of her gifts, protected and cared for. He embraced her silently, neither of them fell the need to speak, the pack bonds let Adam know all he needed to know.

That Sunday morning they we're waiting, nervously for Asil to arrive to begin instructing Jordan on the use of her omega talents. They were dumbstruck when Anna arrived instead, blowing in like a warm breeze to help the pack and Jordan. They were then further shocked when Charles didn't follow her in.

"Charles decided since this isn't a dangerous mission he'd stay home with SeoHyun." She explained. "He is trusting me and all of you to keep me safe."

"Help yourself to some orange juice or coffee, food will be ready soon." Darryl said from his spot at the stove. Other pack members already had plates and were in various stages of finishing their meals.

Anna got some of the fresh juice and took a seat with Jordan.

"I don't understand… I thought you had things to take care of in Aspen Creek."

"I got them handled faster than expected so I let Asil stay to tend to his beloved roses and I came here." She said as Darryl gave her a plate. "He was crabbier than usual at the prospect of coming here so…" she shrugged and took a bite of French toast.

"So you came instead." Jordan inferred getting a refill on her coffee.

"Yes, Asil doesn't like to leave Aspen Creek if he can avoid it so this was better for everyone."

"Charles alone with SeoHyun, is that a good idea?" Jesse asked.

"They are good together, he can handle her on his own, she's fifteen and submissive. He also has Sage, Bran and Kara to help him."

"Kara… how is she?" Mercy asked remembering when Kara's father came looking for a pack to help her.

"She's thriving in Aspen Creek, she and SeoHyun are best friends." Anna said going back to her food. "This is good."

"Thank you" Darryl preened at the complement.

"On the topic of SeoHyun and Charles, those two couldn't be closer if she had been his biological daughter and he is perfectly capable of caring for her on his own."

The wolves around her with the exception of Collin Phelps were aware of SeoHyun's unique status.

"If you'll forgive my asking, how is it a fifteen year old submissive girl survived the change?" Collin asked.

"We really don't know… we think she was pulled through by magic but… no one is sure." She gave him the cliffs notes version of the events as far as they knew them leading to the deaths of the alpha and second of that particular pack and their adoption of SeoHyun.

"We think she was sexually abused as well but she hasn't confirmed it." Mercy added as Anna finished her food.

Collin looked at his daughter and thanked the Lord above he didn't have to worry. If anything happened to him Adam would make sure his Nicole was cared for. He and Mercy had promised Collin when he joined, in the unlikely event he could no longer care for his child for any reason another member of the pack would gladly take her in as their own.

After finishing breakfast, Jordan and Anna go to work on gaining control of her powers. Anna didn't point out that she noticed Ben never strayed far from where she and Jordan sat talking about what Jordan could do as an omega. She didn't understand why he was there and tried to put it out of her mind. It made no sense for him to be a guard as he was low in the pack and the alpha and his mate were under the same roof.

They took a break and Anna went to confront Ben. She was careful not to pull authority from Charles when asking questions. She didn't want to worry her mate unless things got out of hand, until then she'd rely on her omega talents and worst case scenario ask Adam for help.

The only thing she'd need to get Charles's authority for is if something happened to Adam and his wolf became uncontrollable. She'd then pull from Charles to get the situation under control and deal with Charles himself when he inevitably arrived enraged that his trust was misplaced. That was only if her omega nature wasn't enough to settle the situation.

"So why are you spying on us?" Anna asked.

"It's just… I don't know… Jordan has had me intrigued since she got here and…"

"You like her…" Anna inferred.

"I guess… I…"

"Go talk to her, see if it's really her that fascinates you or her omega nature." Anna suggested "I'm going to call check on my mate and daughter, see what they're doing."

Anna slipped away then into the office with Adam.

"How is she doing?" Adam asked.

"She's doing good… really good." Anna admitted with pride.

"Are you going to call Charles?" he asked.

"You heard that, yes, I am… this is actually the first time they've spent time alone together." She admitted "But SeoHyun is submissive…"

"They're going to be fine, I'd worry if I didn't know how submissive she is… how much they love each other. It's like me and Jesse, but Jesse pushes back on my authority, SeoHyun would never do that to Charles."

Anna smiled, Adam wasn't around her family but he was right SeoHyun's submissive nature meant there would be peace even without her presence.

Anna called to find they had just finished lunch and were going to have a guitar lesson.

"Anna I don't understand why you're worried about us, things are fine here." Charles assured her. Anna knew Charles well enough to know he could easily keep them fed and SeoHyun in line. He'd cared for himself longer than she'd been alive, keeping SeoHyun was simple.

The conversation ended and Anna went back to working with Jordan, but not before telling Adam he needed to keep an eye on Ben.
