On a rooftop...
Ladybug and Cat Noir were admiring the view of the city, sitting side by side. The sun was still setting behind the Eiffel Tower, creating a warm glow all around the city of Paris. The heroes loved taking a break around this time just to go over some things, make sure everything's taken care of before they head to their families.
"Well m'lady," Cat Noir finally spoke up, "What is it you wanted to talk about? Does it have something to do with the heroes in training?"
"Yes actually, it does," Ladybug said as she opened up her yo-yo to see if she had any messages.
Still nothing.
"Come on, Marinette. You just gave it to Deku not that long ago. He might not have even noticed yet," Ladybug thought as she closed and put it back around her waist, "Give it some time."
"This might seem crazy, so please don't laugh."
"Come on, have I ever laughed at anything you've told me?" Cat Noir asked her, crossing his arms.
There was silence between the two heroes as Ladybug thought about it for a moment.
"See? Now, out with it."
Ladybug could only think about the three students that stuck out to her the most. The three quirks that she had thought about awhile ago when she was in bed with Tikki that one night. To her, this was no coincidence.
"I might've accidentally made a wish with our Miraculous to help us defeat Hawk--... Monarch."
In Room 203...
Midoriya and everyone else could barely sleep that night. Eventually he did fall asleep, but woke up fairly early. Since he was having a hard time falling back asleep, he quietly got up and put on his jogging outfit. Luckily, his classmates were knocked out cold. So he snuck out of his room as quietly as he could and went over to the elevator.
Fortunately, there was no one around to stop him. Specifically Mr. Aizawa. He also hoped that Chloe wasn't the type to wake up this early.
The elevator doors opened, and he nearly jumped out of his skin when Zoe stood there. He wasn't expecting anyone to be up this early, especially at a hotel. Although, she did live here.
"Hey Izuku, I didn't expect you to be up this early," Zoe said.
"Yeah, I-I didn't think anyone would be up either," Midoriya told her, "I was just going for a jog."
Zoe let him exit the elevator as they headed out of the hotel. He noticed that she had a jogging outfit on as well.
Her blond hair was up in a messy ponytail and wore a blue hoodie with black jogging pants. Although, the shoes were the same as yesterday's.
"Really? Aren't you afraid of getting lost?" Zoe asked him as she took a sip of her water bottle she'd been carrying this entire time.
"No, I'm pretty good at remembering directions. It should be no problem."
"Okay, well. I just got back from jogging, but I don't mind going again with you."
"Re-Really? Ar-Are you sure?" Midoriya stuttered, not sure how to feel about this, "You must be tired by now."
"Not really. I didn't even make it that far. Besides, I don't mind jogging with a friend," Zoe told him with a genuine smile.
"Su-Sure! Let's go."
They soon made it out the door of the hotel, and Zoe showed him the way to the park. Midoriya had never had a jogging partner before, so it was a bit strange at first. But once she started showing the way, it was actually kind of exciting. She ran faster than he was expecting, for someone that most likely didn't have a quirk.
Come to think of it, he hasn't met anyone in Paris that has a quirk. Ladybug and Cat Noir use something called a Miraculous that gives them their powers and that's it. There have been no signs of quirks anywhere. Unless, this Monarch guy Ladybug mentioned had a quirk.
Something wasn't adding up.
Soon enough, Zoe and Midoriya made it to the park. Both of them were out of breath, and they had sit down at a nearby bench for a few minutes.
"Wow, you run fast!" Zoe exclaimed as she took a sip of water, "Is that your super power?"
"So-Sort of," Midoriya told her, still not use to talking to someone outside of U.A., "Basically I can enhance my strength and speed, but I have to be careful to not use too much power or I might break my arm."
Zoe's eyes glanced over to his scarred hand, clearly worried about what he might've gone through as a hero in training. Midoriya seemed to notice and rubbed his hand for support.
"Does it hurt?" She asked him, not looking away.
"Sometimes, it does. But other times, I don't really remember," Midoriya explained to her the best way he could, "I guess it depends on the situation."
"No I mean, does it hurt now?" She placed her hand on his to make sure he was okay.
It took Midoriya a minute to understand what she meant by that as she examined his scarred hand. No one has ever asked him that before, so he didn't know how to respond.
"N-No... I-I'm okay..." Midoriya told her.
He was just glad there was no one around to see them together. At least Chloe wasn't around to make fun of him. He didn't know what he'd do if she saw him with her half sister.
The look on Zoe's face worried him. Midoriya just met her, and he didn't want her thinking he couldn't handle his quirk.
In the corner of his eye, he spotted an empty soda can on the ground. His eyes lit up and turned to his new friend.
"Wait there," Midoriya said as he got up and grabbed the can.
He placed the can on the edge of the trash barrel and backed up quite a bit. Almost twenty feet away.
Placing his right wrist into his left hand, he aimed right at the empty can.
"One for All... Full Cowling... Delaware... SMASH!"
With a flick of his finger, the can flipped in the air and landed straight into the trash barrel. Zoe stood up, dumbfounded at what she just witnessed.
"Yo-You just flicked a can from thirty feet away!" Zoe exclaimed, dropping her water bottle.
"Actually it was more like twenty feet away," Midoriya corrected as he walked over to pick up her water bottle, "But like I said, I'm okay. And one of these days, I hope to be a great hero. Like Ladybug and Cat Noir is to you guys."
He gave her a wide smile as she took the water bottle from his strong hands. Then, Zoe's smile made everything better.
Twenty minutes later...
The sun was rising as Midoriya and Zoe were walking back to the hotel. It was pretty quiet the way back home. Midoriya hoped he didn't worry her even more, but she seemed like she just wanted to watch the people walking by.
Something about her told him that he could trust her. She wasn't anything like Chloe, and he really needed to know something from her.
"Hey Zoe," Midoriya mumbled, not sure if she heard him, "I don't mean to pry or anything, but do you have a quirk?"
Zoe looked at him like he had two heads. Midoriya didn't have a very good feeling about this.
"What's a quirk? Is that your superpower?" Zoe asked him back.
"Ye-Yeah... I guess you could say that."
"Then, no. I don't have one," Zoe told him, "I don't think anyone does except for Ladybug and Cat Noir. Oh and Monarch, but he has a Miraculous too."
"Mo-Monarch? You mean, the guy that Ladybug and Cat Noir are after?"
"Yeah. He took almost all of the Miraculous from her. The-There use to be other heroes fighting along side her, but..."
Midoriya could tell it was a sore subject for her, so he didn't want her to pursue it any further than that.
"It's okay," Midoriya told her as they kept walking, "You don't have to tell me anymore than that."
"I'm going to have to get a hold of Ladybug somehow."
The rest of the walk there was pretty quiet. Once they entered the building, Midoriya nearly bumped into his teacher.
"M-Mr. Aizawa!"
His teacher gave him a glare that intimidated him, even without the use of his quirk. Iida, Aoyama and Sato were right behind him, Iida looking just as intimidating as him.
"Midoriya, where have you been?! The others told me you had left your room!" Iida lectured him as he chopped in the air rather fluidly, "So we came down here to find you!"
"We-Well, Iida... Yo-You see, I..."
"He was with me," Zoe said, stepping in to defend him, "I wanted to go jogging with him since he couldn't sleep. Don't worry... Mr. Aizawa, was it? He was with me the entire time."
Mr. Aizawa gave Midoriya a stern stare before letting out a sigh.
"Fine. As long as you were with someone that knows that area. I won't punish you this time," Mr. Aizawa told him.
"Tha-Thank you, sir!" Midoriya bowed to his teacher, then turned to Zoe, "Sorry, Zoe, but I've gotta go back to my room. You know, hero stuff."
"Yeah, sure."
Midoriya gave her one last smile before heading back upstairs. He quickly found his room and of course, Bakugo, Kirishima and Todoroki were not too happy. Well, Bakugo mostly.
"Where the hell have you been, Deku?!" Bakugo yelled at him, "We almost got in trouble because of you!"
"I know, Kacchan. I'm sorry," Midoriya said as he ran over to his side of the room. He was searching for something as everyone else gave him even more lectures. It took him awhile, but he finally found it.
The notebook that Ladybug and Cat Noir had signed. He thought he might've spotted something that Ladybug wrote down, but never got the chance to look at it closely. He opened it up to the page, and right there next to her signature was her phone number.
Before anyone could stop him, Midoriya ran into the bathroom with his cell phone and dialed her number in...
"Come on, Ladybug. Please answer..."
Unfortunately, she didn't pick up. So he left a voicemail.
"He-Hey Ladybug, i-it's me... Izuku Midoriya... I called because I think we need to talk about some things... about Monarch, and whatever happened with the other Miraculous. I'm sorry if this seems out of the blue, but you left your phone number on my notebook for a reason. So please, call me back... okay... bye..."
Another great chapter! I really liked writing this just because of Zoe and Midoriya being friends. Don't worry, I know Zoe likes girls. I just like the thought of them being friends.
More coming soon!
