In Room 203...
Midoriya sighed and exited the bathroom feeling a lot better. Even if Ladybug didn't answer, he still left a voicemail, and that was good enough for him.
"What was that all about, Midoriya?" Kirishima asked him.
He held his phone rather tightly as he faced his roommates with confidence.
"We-Well... You see... I left Ladybug a voicemail," Midoriya told them.
"Wait, what?"
"Why the hell would you try to contact that insect?" Bakugo asked, his arms crossed.
"Because Kacchan, there's--"
There was a knock on their door, so Todoroki went to go open it. It was Uraraka, Jirou and Ashido looking pretty excited about something. They all wore their own cute outfits instead of their school uniforms.
"Hey guys!" Ashido said with much enthusiasm, "Are you ready?"
"Ready? Ready for what?" Todoroki asked them as they entered their room.
"Didn't Mr. Aizawa tell you? We're not doing hero work today!" Uraraka cried out, pumping her fists in the air.
Midoriya definitely didn't expect this, especially from his teacher.
"He told us since he couldn't get a hold of U.A., he's allowing us out until he can get in contact with them," Ashido explained.
"So, Zoe invited us out to meet a friend of hers," Jirou told them, "Apparently, her parents work at the Bakery Shop by the school. Everyone else is waiting downstairs."
Midoriya and the others had gotten ready for the day and made their way downstairs into the lobby of the hotel. He spotted Zoe and his other classmates by the door, along with... Chloe. There was another girl with Chloe this time around.
She had a white headband on top of her strawberry blond hair and glasses over her teal eyes. She was wearing a plaid teal and purple vest over a long white shirt with a black bow tie. Her pants were a bright blue with black leggings and white sneakers.
"Oh look, Sabrina. It's Broccoli Boy and his misfit crew, " Chloe announced to her friend who was standing right next to her.
Midoriya felt his entire freckled face turn bright red as they made their way over to their classmates and Zoe. Once he saw Zoe, he smiled at her. He didn't think they'd be hanging out today, but he was excited to meet her friend. He remembered walking by the Bakery Shop, especially since Sato seemed like he really wanted to go in.
"Hey Izuku," Zoe greeted as she waved to everyone else, "Looks like everyone's coming. That's great!"
"Zoe! First the Baker Girl, now Broccoli Boy?!" Chloe cried out, "I thought I told you to never be friends with someone like her!"
"It doesn't matter considering we're all going to her place right now," Zoe told her half sister, then turned to her newfound friends, "Come on, guys. Let's head out."
As they left the hotel, Midoriya could hear Chloe yelling out in frustration.
"This is ridiculous! Utterly RIDICULOUS!"
A few minutes later...
After they made their way towards the Bakery Shop, Midoriya kept thinking about the voicemail he left for Ladybug. He hoped she'd notice it sooner rather than later, but for now he wanted to have a good time with Zoe's friend. She must've been pretty great if she was bringing his entire class to meet her.
"Zoe, so..." Midoriya said, walking beside her, "What's this friend of yours like?"
"Well..." Zoe said as she thought about her for a moment, "She is very creative and really nice. She can be kind of clumsy sometimes and is really into fashion designing..."
"Wow," Ashido said as she butted in, "She sounds great! I can't wait to meet her!"
Uraraka watched Midoriya interact with Zoe as if he had known her for awhile. For some reason, it gave her a feeling like no other. She was hoping that they were just friends.
They were nearly there, when Sato's mouth started to water. The whiff of the Bakery Shop flowed through the breeze and everyone could smell it as well.
"That smells so good," Sato told Zoe.
"Yeah, they should be. Her parents make great baked goods," She told them, "I did give you all those macarons after all."
Zoe opened the door to the Bakery Shop and everyone was somehow able to fit. It was that big of a Bakery, but the bread, cookies and macarons were all around them looking quite delicious. Midoriya could swear everyone's mouths were watering, just waiting for a taste of whatever they had in store.
"Hey Zoe," A lady with short black hair and grey eyes came in through the back door, "I see you brought the students from Japan you told me about. It's nice to meet you all."
"It's nice to meet you, too miss, uh..." Midoriya said as he bowed.
"Call me Sabine. Marinette should be down soon. It seems she's running late."
"When isn't she?" Zoe teased as her and Sabine giggled.
"Marinette must be Zoe's friend..." Midoriya thought as his classmates looked around the Bakery Shop.
"Ms. Sabine," Sato said a little shy, "You're shop looks amazing. I'm actually kind of a baker myself."
"Really?" She seemed rather impressed, "Well, isn't that amazing! If there's anything you want please don't be afraid to ask."
"Ye-Yes ma'am. Thank you!" Sato gave her a bow.
After Sato finally bought some cookies and macarons, a girl stumbled into the room. Everyone's attention was on her now.
The girl had her dark, blue hair in ponytails, framing her bell blue eyes. She wore a white shirt with a flower design and a dark grey jacket over it with pink capris. Her shoes were pink with dark grey bows at the end.
"He-Hey Zoe," Marinette said as she got up from the trip down, "Sorry I'm late. I was trying to get some schoolwork done, and I lost track of time and--"
"It's okay, Marinette," Zoe told her, "You don't need to explain yourself."
Marinette took a deep breath and turned her attention over to Zoe's friends from the hotel.
Midoriya noticed something about her when she had come in. He couldn't put his finger on it, but she looked just like...
"Hi, so you guys are from Japan. Right? That's so cool!" Marinette said to them, and then made her way towards the back, "Hey mom, is it okay if I invite them in? The Bakery's a little small for all of them to be in here."
"Of course, sweetie, " Sabine told her as she gave her a hug, "Your father should be in the kitchen. He's just making some snacks for everyone."
"Thanks mom!" Marinette hugged her back, and everyone made their way inside, "Come on, guys. Let's head inside."
"Thank you, Sabine for letting us stay!" Iida bowed as he was the last one to head in.
"Oh, it's no problem at all!"
Class 1-A had entered their house without realizing it, and they were kind of in awe. They've never really been in a house quite like this before. Everyone followed Marinette up the stairs, and they soon entered the kitchen which also opened up into the living room and dining room.
"Hey dad," Marinette said, "Zoe's here with her friends from Japan!"
Marinette's dad was bigger than they had expected. In fact, his head almost hit the ceiling.
Her dad had brown hair that went down to his chin, mustache and green eyes. He wore a blue shirt that barely fit him and brown pants along with brown shoes. He seemed the most excited to meet them.
"Hello everyone! I'm Tom Dupain Cheng," He greeted loudly, "Welcome to Paris! I made some snacks for everyone to try. Make yourself at home!"
"Wow! Thank you, sir!" Ashido cried as she noticed all of the snacks laid out on the counter.
"It's no problem! I'm just so excited to meet people from Japan!" He said excitedly, and then noticed Ashido's appearance, "Say, are those horns real?"
"Dad!" Marinette cried in embarrassment, then turned to Ashido, "Sorry about him."
"It-It's okay," Ashido said a bit caught off guard, "I'm use to it."
Midoriya spotted Marinette glaring at her dad, and he backed off a little.
"Since everyone's settled in, I'm gonna go help your mom with the Bakery," Tom told his daughter, "Again, help yourself!"
Marinette smiled and shook her head at his excitement.
"So..." Marinette said as she turned to the students, "Zoe told me you guys go to a hero school to become heroes."
"Yes, that's right," Iida said as he excitedly raised his hand in the air.
"Just like Ladybug and Cat Noir!" Ashido told her as she ate a cookie.
"Yeah, except we actually have quirks unlike the Insect and Scaredy-Cat," Bakugo butted in as he gulped down a soda can.
"Quirks?" Marinette questioned, "Zoe told me that Midoriya mentioned something about quirks being his superpower."
Everyone turned to Midoriya, and he froze in place. With all eyes on him, he felt his stomach tighten, and his face heat up pretty fast.
"We-Well... I di-didn't mean it like that, I meant to say that it's something we call a superpower back home," Midoriya told Marinette and Zoe.
"Deku! You trying to make yourself look better in front of your girlfriend?!" Bakugo cried as he stomped towards him. His hands were smoking as he made his way towards him.
"Zo-Zoe's not my gir-girlfriend! An-And we were just jogging this morning and I asked her if she had a quirk is all," Midoriya tried to explain pretty much in front of everyone.
"Yeah, even Marinette doesn't have a quirk," Zoe told them.
Midoriya couldn't believe what he had just heard. Marinette was quirkless, but that meant back there in the Bakery...
"She looks just like..."
"Wait, seriously?" Kirishima asked, "Does anyone have a quirk here?"
"Ladybug!" Midoriya cried out, accidentally letting it slip out, "You're Ladybug!"
Marinette's eyes grew wide as dropped her drink right in front of everyone. She quickly ran over to grab paper towels, but grabbed a little too much and started cleaning the mess she'd made.
"Wha-What're you talking about, Deku? I-I'm not Ladybug," Marinette told him as she tried to clean up the drink, "Tha-That's just crazy."
What she'd just told him basically confirmed it.
"I never told you my hero name, Marinette," Midoriya told her.
Marinette stopped cleaning and Midoriya kneeled down to help out. He threw away the paper towels into the trashcan and helped her up. Everyone seemed surprised, but not as surprised as Zoe.
"You're Ladybug?!" Zoe cried, then backed up a little, "Well, that explains being late all the time."
"You didn't know?" Ashido asked Zoe.
"Well, no. Ladybug and Cat Noir keep their identities a secret," Zoe told everyone, mostly to Midoriya.
His freckled face blemished as he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Nice job, Deku," Bakugo said, "You managed to slip out the biggest secret in Paris."
"I'm sure he didn't mean to," Uraraka said to everyone in the room.
With everyone in the room crowding him, Midoriya felt like he had to get out of there. He took off upstairs without realizing it. A couple of his friends tried to stop him, he could hear Marinette's voice tell them to leave him alone.
Another chapter! I do like this Zoe tagging along with the group. I think this part is pretty good. Midoriya slipped up! Uh oh...
More coming soon!
