Frost woke up in a relatively comfy bed for once, getting up she walked out of the room and onto the deck. As she saw the rest of the crew doing their own things. She decided to at least try and get to know the crew better.
"Hey" she said walking up behind Usopp causing the boy to jump in surprise
"Oh hi, Frost" he said after recomposing himself
"So, I was just thinking I should get to know the crew better" she said "So I decided on you first"
"i intrigued you huh" he said looking smug
"No, it's because you are the only one who seems to be doing nothing" she pointed out Zoro and Nami who were training and reading respectively
Usopp pouted a bit at that but quickly shook off the disappointment
"So, what do you want to know about me" he asked
"Hmm, what made you join this crew" she replied
"Oh, I joined because Luffy invited me on after we fought some pirates that were planning on plundering my village" he said "One of the bastards ended up being the butler who turned out to be the captain"
"Thats cool, how did you deal with him" she asked
She regretted that a few moments later when he described how he was able to take out the entire pirate armada and how Luffy begged him to join afterwards.. She was about to leave when Zoro called out.
"Quit lying" he said
"Oh Zolo?" Frost said trying to remember the mans name
"Zoro" He corrected
"Ah Zoro, why did you join" she asked
"Seemed like Luffy was going to get into a lot of trouble meaning I can use the constant fighting to further my goal" He replied
"Being" she motioned him to continue
"Being the greatest swordsman" He said before walking off
"He seemed pretty determined" She said turning to Usopp
"Yeah, Zoro is like that" Usopp said more interested in getting back to talking about himself but was cut off by Frost's stomach growling
"I'm going to grab something to eat" she said walking into the Baratie
After a short walk she walked in and headed towards the kitchen area to wait outside the door, maybe she could find something they needed done to get some money. Before she could reach there however, she was waved over by Navi?
"Hey Navi" she said
"It's actually Nami" she responded
"Thats twice today" Frost muttered as she sat down
"Anyways, I guess with Luffy invited you to the crew you should also get a small share of the crew's money for food"
"Really?"
"Yep, you get about 5% of the overall treasure" she said
"So does everyone get 5%" Frost asked
"Well, being the fund's manager means I get extra" Nami said as the blonde man from yesterday came to take their orders
"Well madams, what would you like to have for lunch" he said
"I'll have the soup of the day" Nami said
"Can I have toast" Frost asked causing the blonde man to look almost heartbroken but nodded solemnly
After he left, she looked at Nami as to why he looked so sad, but she just shrugged. One of the other chefs exited the kitchen and walked up to her
"Hey thanks for ordering the toast, it seems to have given Sanji a mental breakdown" he said before going back to the kitchen, as the doors opened, she could faintly hear the shouts of Sanji "TOAST?"
Frost couldn't help but be embarrassed as Nami laughed at the ordeal
"What's wrong with toast" she said as she almost slammed her head on the table
Nami didn't respond instead kept laughing as their dishes came out with Sanji looking at Frost with the fakest smile whilst handing her slices of toast.
"Can I get you anything else" he said mainly looking at Frost like he was begging her to order something else. She didn't feel right spending too much though, so she just shook her head. She watched as Sanji walked back to the kitchen still muttering about toast.
She quickly ate the meal and after getting to know Nami a bit better she left the Baratie aiming to get some training done, if she was going to be on a crew she would have to fight, something she knew with how she had to fight to survive. She walked onto the strawhat's ship, which she realized she didn't know the name of, and looked around the storage room for something she could turn into her weapon of choice. After a bit she found a metal pipe and a small empty barrel which she shoved the pipe through to make a hammer. As she left the room, she saw Zoro training still and decided to challenge the first mate
"Hey Zoro want to spar" she said as she saw the man look at her like a mad dog
"Sure" he said with a look that told frost she may be in over her head
They got into a fighting positions and started dueling on the deck, Zoro's swords clashing rapidly with the pipe she used for the hammer shaft, he gave no openings with her own weapon so she had to be tricky, As she was backing up she used her devil fruit to cool the air nearby her foot, creating a patch of ice that caused Zoro to slip for a second. Seeing her chance, she swept at his legs and although it was intercepted, it gave her a chance to create distance between them,
"Clever move" he said as he rushed towards, her again
Knowing she was never going to win if he kept getting close, she decided to keep him at range until she got a good opportunity. She raised her hand and started cooling the air causing icicles to shoot at Zoro, he dodged all but one which hit him in the shoulder, however even with the hit he kept his footing and closed the gap hitting her with two slashes which cut her leg and arm. She stumbled backwards before cooling the air behind her to launch herself forwards with a pillar of ice as she got a good hit on his torso with her hammer
"maybe I can win th..." she muttered softly before her world went black
She woke up to her new bed as Nami was touching her head with a cloth
"What happened" Frost said as she looked up at Nami
"You collided with the mast during your spar with Zoro" she said
"Dammit" Frost muttered
"DON'T BEAT YOUSELF UP ABOUT IT" Zoro shouted from outside the room
"KEEP IT DOWN SHE MAY HAVE A CONCUSSION" Nami shouted back before chastising herself for shouting
Zoro then walked into the room with food
"Here" He said as he gave her the food "I got that shitty cook in the restaurant to cook you something whilst you were recovering"
She looked at the meal, it was lasagna. Before anyone else could react she snatched the food and took a bite
"Sooo good" Frost said
Nami and Zoro chuckled at this before Zoro looked at her with a serious face
"You probably want to sleep of the concussion, I'll be looking forward to the next spar" he said before leaving the room
"Wht" she responded mouth full of food
"I'm pretty sure that's Zoro's way of saying you're a good fighter" Nami said "Then again that man is a mystery. Anyways I'm going to make sure Luffy hasn't broken anything"
With that Nami left the room leaving Frost by herself. She finished her meal and decided to take the sleep advice to heart.
For the first time in a while she was excited for the next day
