3: Rosalina, the protector of the cosmos, opened her eyes as she sensed a great disturbance. She closed her eyes once more and heard a yell that could be heard through the cosmos if one were to listen.

"For too long has everything been out of balance! Now to correct the mistakes of the oh-so-great one! Now to cleanse this disgraceful world!" she heard.

"Hm," she mumbled. "MARI-!" Luigi screamed. She suddenly heard the scream of millions come to sudden silence. "The Mushroom Kingdom," she said.

She opened her eyes and looked out at the cosmos as they reflected her eyes. The Grand Star and all of her observatories were in place. The Lumas had all taken their leave to take their place in the cosmos, except for one. One Luma remained. It was smaller than a typical Luma. It also seemed to be timid. It squeaked in fear as it hid behind a pillar after Rosalina glanced at it.

"No need to be afraid little one," she said, "You can come out," she kneeled. The Luma slowly poked out, hopped slowly towards Rosalina, and immediately cowered behind her dress. Rosalina giggled a little. "It seems you are a late bloomer, little one. Do not worry. Your time will come," she said, "For now, destiny is calling to us."

Rosalina swung her wand as sparkles were released from it. The Comet Observatory tilted over and flew through the cosmos. Lil' Luma held on tightly to Rosalina's dress as the stars and planets flew by them quickly. Rosalina preferred not to haste things, for Lil' Luma's sake, and decided to turn this into a lesson.

"You see little one. These are the wide cosmos, and these are your family. The many Lumas who once lived in this Observatory eventually go out into the universe, and become their own stars and even worlds," she said. Lil' Luma squeaked in curiosity as it looked upon the stars. "Normally every Luma leaves at the same time, but you are a special one. I suppose you'll leave when you think it is the right time," she said. Lil' Luma squeaked.

They passed through many worlds as the stars flew by. Lil' Luma was fascinated by everything it saw, yet it still stayed behind Rosalina's robes. "We are arriving," Rosalina said. She slowed down The Comet Observatory and cloaked it in a magic barrier as they approached the world of the Mushroom Kingdom. Flying past them were rocks and debris. "Strange. These are not supposed to be here," she said.

They passed more rocks and some mushrooms that floated out in space. "It can't be," Rosalina said as she could not believe the sight that beheld her. Where she would see the Mushroom Kingdom from space, the only thing that could be seen was a world. A broken world with its pieces apart. "How could this have happened?" she asked herself. Lil' Luma gave a sad squeak.

While the planet itself was broken, its pieces still floated in space. Many of the pieces were intact. Peach's Castle remained, as well as Donkey Kong's cabin and Yoshi's Island. Rosalina was attempting to figure out what to do next. That was until…

"Hm?" she questioned. Lil' Luma squeaked with fear once more. Where the planet's core once stood, dark matter began to grow. As it grew, the sound of a raging wind could be heard. "Oh no," she said. Rosalina waved her wand ferociously and created a barrier that surrounded The Comet Observatory. She immediately moved it without warning as the pieces and debris of the planet were being consumed by this black hole. The Observatory's magic was squealing as Rosalina was forcing it to go against the black hole's pole.

"Hang on, little one," she said. Lil' Luma was squealing with worry. "Here we go!" she yelled. With enough power and tenacity, Rosalina managed to pull away from the black hole's pull but the magic of the Observatory received so much strain that it caused the Grand Star to fall apart into multiple stars and scatter across the universe. Rosalina stood up and realized that they were stranded, with nothing around them except the stars of the universe and the black hole they left behind.

Lil' Luma squeaked. "Our best hope is to allow the stars to send a message, and hope that an ally receives the call," she said. With her wand, she tossed sparkles of light towards the stars that remained in the universe. "Do not fret little one. We just have to have faith," she said. Lil' Luma squeaked once more.

The Halberd flew through space. King Dedede kept on complaining about his castle, which almost began to annoy Bandana Dee before she realized that the King could crush her like a can. Kirby was asleep, and Mario kept pacing back and forth. Meta Knight continued to pilot the ship.

"You know, if you do not relax, then you will not be prepared when you come up against this Ganondorf again," he said. "Well I'm sorry, but how do you expect me to be relaxed when my brother and my friends are in trouble," Mario said. "I understand your concern, but you tell me this foe is unlike any you have seen. We must be at our best if we wish to be victorious. Look at Kirby," Meta Knight said, "He is always relaxed, and is possibly one of the greatest heroes in the universe." "Second to me of course," King Dedede said. "You're a hero?" Mario asked. "Why yes of course Mayrio," King Dedede replied. "Uh, it's Mario," Mario responded. "Yeah, yeah Mayrio," King Dedede said.

Meta Knight took a look at the scanners and spotted that an object was heading towards them. "We have a small object approaching," Meta Knight said. "What is it?" Bandana Dee asked. A Power Star flew past them, and Mario was able to get a good look at it. "Was that a star with eyes?" Bandana Dee asked. "That's a power star," Mario said, "The last time I dealt with them, it was when The Comet Observatory lost its power. We need to follow it. It can lead us to Rosalina," Mario said. "Are you sure?" Meta Knight asked. "Yeah, and if it's flying off, then Rosalina could be in danger," Mario said. "Alright. Here goes nothing," Meta Knight said. Meta Knight turned the boosters on The Halberd and headed straight towards the loose Power Star.

In a nearby world, we witness the magnificent kingdom of Hyrule. While it isn't as colorful as the Mushroom Kingdom or Dreamland, it was still vibrant with its wild. Princess Zelda, accompanied by her appointed knight, Link, and her royal advisor and friend, Impa, were walking down a path. "The Divine Beasts seem to be functioning at full capacity. The Champions have also significantly raised their skill in piloting them," Zelda said. "Princess. You've been working way too hard on this and your training. Perhaps a break would work for you," Impa said. "Not now Impa. This work is far too important," Zelda said. "Princess," Impa said.

They continued on their path. Link looked up to the sky and looked at something that was heading towards. He gasped and immediately ran up ahead and ducked him and Zelda behind his shield. "Link! What are you? Huh!" Zelda said. Link parried the Power Star that fell from the sky and it landed on a piece of land nearby. "What was that?!" Zelda asked. Link looked up. He still kept his guard to ensure it wasn't an attack from any enemies. "We should check it out," Zelda said. "Is that really wise?" Impa questioned. "Just for investigation," Zelda said.

The three of them walked towards the Power Star on the ground. "What is it?" Impa asked. "It looks like a star," Zelda said. "A star that fell from the sky? That normally doesn't happen during the day," Impa said. "Yes, but it is something I intend to investigate," Zelda said. Zelda reached for it and grabbed it. "It seems to emanate a power of some kind. A power beyond the Ancient Sheikah," Zelda said. "I'm not sure this is a good idea," Impa said. "Once I do my research into this, in theory, we could possibly use this for our cause," Zelda said. "If you say so," said Impa with unsurety. The three of them walked towards the Great Plateau as they were making their way back to Hyrule Castle. In the meantime…

The Halberd floated over the planet. "What are we doing? Why aren't we heading down there?" Mario asked. "Unlike our world, where spaceships are normal, and your world where you're able to vouch for us, we do not know of this world. I am unsure if the people would accept a battleship to land on their home," Meta Knight said. "Okay. Fair point. So how do we get the Power Star?" Mario asked. "Unfortunately, I had no time to finish the cloaking device I had been developing, so I will need time to complete it. For now, I'd assume it best for you and Kirby to head down," Meta Knight said. "How will we do that?" Mario asked. "Bandana Dee will aid you. Be warned though. We do not know the dangers of this world. You and Kirby will be on your own there," Meta Knight said. "Alright. Not frightening at all," Mario said, sarcastically.

Mario, Kirby, and Bandana Dee left towards a room. "So, how will we get down there?" Mario asked. "Oh. You'll see. Just enter right here," Bandana Dee said as she opened the door. "Okay," Mario said. Mario and Kirby entered as Bandana Dee closed the door behind. "So is this like a pod?" Mario asked. "Um… something like that," Bandana Dee replied. Bandana Dee left and spoke onto the speakers, "Meta Knight. Do it." "Wait a minute?" Mario questioned, "This isn't the?" In a matter of seconds, Mario and Kirby were thrown out through the cannons towards the world of Hyrule. "MAMMA MIA!" Mario screamed. "POYO!" Kirby screamed, excitedly.

Mario landed face first on a cliff on a mountain in the Great Plateau. Kirby floated down and landed beside him. "Oh, I'm gonna kill them when we get back," Mario said. Mario stood up and wiped off the dirt off his overalls. Kirby walked over to the edge of the cliff. "Hey! Wait up," Mario said. They both arrived at the edge of the cliff and witnessed the eternal beauty of Hyrule. "Oh wow. That is a view," Mario said. A wind came through and it nearly swiped Mario's cap off his hat. "Let's see," Mario said. Mario took a look and witnessed a giant castle in the distance. "I get the feeling that's where we'll need to go," Mario said. "Oh?" Kirby questioned. "Let's-a go," Mario said.

Zelda placed the Power Star on her desk as it floated. "Interesting," she said. She grabbed two wires from a Guardian and connected a small piece of ancient technology to them. "Here goes nothing," she said. She connected the wires to the Power Star and it rapidly began charging the technology. "Ha! It is working!" Zelda said excitedly, "Faster than expected!" The Power Star kept charging the tech towards a critical level as Zelda wrote in her journal. The tech began to whistle. "Hm?" Zelda questioned.

Link walked down the halls of the castle as he heard an explosion. He looked at Princess Zelda's Tower to see that smoke was coming out of the windows. He yelped as he ran as fast as wind towards the tower and broke down the gates. Zelda came out with her hair all smokey and puffy as she coughed out smoke. "That was… BRILLIANT!" she said. Link tilted his head, questioning what had happened. "If we could learn how to properly level this power, then the Guardians, and perhaps even the Divine Beast could increase their strength exponentially, and we'd be able to take down the Calamity Ganon with ease. I must take this to Purah," Zelda said. Link once again tilted his head in confusion. "Come on! We must head out immediately!" Zelda said as she stuffed the Power Star in her bag and ran off while pulling Link.

Mario and Kirby arrived at a town beneath the castle. It was lively and filled with commotion. "Wow. This place looks great," Mario said. As they walked, people stared as Mario was different and bigger, and Kirby was…. well… a pink puffball. "Do you think people are staring at us?" Mario asked. "Oh?" Kirby questioned. "Come on Link! No need to delay!" Zelda ordered. Link kept on running to keep up with her. "Now where would a Power Star be?" Mario asked. "Oof!" Mario and Zelda yelped as they bumped into each other. "Ugh. Apologies for that," Zelda said. "No problem. Here, you dropped your bag," Mario said.

Mario gave Zelda her bag, and the flap was opened small enough that Mario found a glimpse of the Power Star, but immediately gave Zelda the bag as he couldn't cause a scene in public. "Thank you. Now may the Goddess Hylia bless you for all eternity, and apologies again! Come on Link!" Zelda exclaimed. Link exclaimed as he continued running to catch up to Zelda. "We gotta follow them," Mario said. "Oh?" Kirby questioned.

Zelda and Link continued on their path towards the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, and notably Mario and Kirby followed close behind. They hid on the tall grass whenever they felt that Link and Zelda were beginning to notice. "Alright. We somehow have to get that bag. But how?" Mario whispered. "Oh?" Kirby questioned. "If we take this?... no, it will still amount to the same power," Zelda said, "How do you think we should solve this?" Link shook his head and put his hands up. "AH HAH!" a civilian yelled. Suddenly, a bunch of ninja-like goons popped out of nowhere and surrounded Zelda and Link. "Yiga Clan!" Zelda exclaimed. Link immediately pulled out The Master Sword. "HAHAHA! (Ugh, I really need to do more yoga)," said the head honcho of this squad. "Master Khoga," Zelda said. "Yes! It is I! Master Khoga!" he announced, "I have come to eliminate you! And I guess I'll also steal whatever is in that bag! YIGA CLAN! ATTACK!"

The Yiga Clan soldiers were closing in. They jumped towards Zelda but Link came in and hit them with the sword and tossed them away. "Hey! Let go!" Zelda exclaimed as a Yiga soldier grabbed her pack. Link ran in and smacked the Yiga soldier and launched him, as well as Zelda's pack. "Alright, this is our chance," Mario said. Mario was about to run to get the pack, until he saw that Link was beginning to struggle from the number of Yiga soldiers. "Oh," Mario said, "Pack. Or. Oh ravioli!" "Oh?" Kirby questioned.

The Yiga Clan were pushing Link back towards a hillside cliff. Link and Zelda stand behind him. "Link," Zelda said. "Haha! Time to die!" Master Kohga yelled. "Let's-a go!" Mario yelled. "Wha!?" Master Kohga yelled. Mario punched Master Kohga right in the middle of his mask and launched him at the hillside cliff. "Ugh! What was that-? AH!" Master Kohga screamed as he jumped to the side from Mario's fireball. "Master Kohga!" a Yiga soldier yelled. "Get off me!" Master Kohga yelled. "Humph!" Kirby grunted as he jumped on a Yiga soldier and punched him multiple times.

Link was able to find an opening and slashed the rest of the Yiga soldiers. "Ah! That's my time for my escape!" Master Kohga yelled as he ran away. He then tripped on Zelda's pack. "Huh? Haha! At least I get away with this!" he yelled as he raised the pack. "Wait! No!" Zelda and Mario yelled. "Bye bye!" Master Kohga yelled as he poofed away. The rest of the Yiga Clan also poofed away.

They got their bearings, and finally got towards introducing themselves. "Well, I suppose I must thank you for saving us," Zelda said. "No problem. I'm Mario," Mario introduced himself, "And Pinky over here is Kirby." "Poyo!" Kirby said. Zelda nodded, "I am Princess Zelda of Hyrule, and this is my appointed knight, Link." Link nodded. "I'm sorry if we seem to be hasty, but we must retrieve my pack. It had an important artifact and if it falls in the wrong hands, which it did, then it may be the end," Zelda said. "Yeah. I know. The Power Star. Right?" Mario asked. "Wait, how do you know of it? And you know about it?" Zelda asked. "Let's just say it came from where I'm from. I'll need it so I can get home," Mario said. "Hm. I suppose that is important," Zelda said, "But how do we know you won't take it for your own gain?" "Well I did just save you, and I could've taken it and ran off with it when I had the chance," Mario said. "That is a fair point," Zelda said.

"By any chance do you know where that red guy took it?" Mario asked. "They likely returned to their lair. We must plan an infiltration," Zelda said. "How will we do that?" Mario asked, "It's only the four of us." "On the contrary, we have other warriors who might be willing to help us," Zelda said. Link nodded. "We must request aid from The Champions of Hyrule," she said.

Inside the lair of the Yiga Clan, Master Kohga had placed the Power Star on top of his banana horde. "AH HA! SOON! (With whatever this thing is). WE'LL FREE LORD GANON AND WE'LL BE IN CONTROL!" Master Kohga yelled. The Yiga Clan were cheering and partying. "AH HA! (Now what?)" Master Kohga said.

A shadow portal appeared in the hall of the Yiga Clan's hideout. "What the? Guards! Check it out!" Master Kohga ordered. A couple of Yiga soldiers went to check out, and were immediately chucked out and knocked out. The steps of a large figure could be heard walking down the hallway. Then, Ganondorf made his appearance. "What? Who are you?" Master Kohga said, uninterested. "I am Ganondorf. Ruler of darkness," he said. "Ganon… Ganondorf! Lord Ganon!" Master Kohga exclaimed, frantically. He immediately jumped and bowed in front of Ganondorf, along with the rest of the Yiga Clan. "Hm. It seems you worship this version of me from here," he said. "Yes, Lord Ganon. We were promised power and vengeance," Master Kohga said. "Hm, then you shall receive your just rewards. In time," Ganondorf said. "What will you have us do? Lord Ganon?" Master Kohga asked.

"Simple. Cause chaos. I'd assume that the Link and Zelda of here will attempt to steal that," Ganondorf said as he pointed at the Power Star. "Oh. That thing. I'm not sure what that does," Master Kohga said. "It is important to them. So they will attempt to steal it back, cause chaos around Hyrule!" Ganondorf ordered. "Y-Yes Lord Ganon!" Master Kohga exclaimed. "I will have to leave, as I have other business. I will leave a Commander under you," Ganondorf said.

From another shadow portal behind Ganondorf, a giant crocodile wearing a crown and with a belly covered with gold. "Meet King K. Rool," Ganondorf said. "It's K. Rool time!" King K. Rool yelled.
