Medusa was in a human village. This village was full of looters and those who ravaged temples. While she was good at hiding it from her soft counterpart, she took it upon herself to destroy those places, including the many innocents within them. As she was turning the humans to stone, a pair of Angels flew by. They saw. In terror they tried to fly back to Skyworld to alert Palutena. Medusa cursed. She didn't WANT to hurt them. They weren't like humans. But they were witnesses. And needed to be silenced. She grabbed them from the air. And with one gaze, they were Stone, dropped to the ground and scattered among the ruins of the village…

Palutena was walking through Skyworld. She heard a loud piercing cry and saw many angels surrounding an area. Quickly running over, the young goddess ran over to the source of the noise. A baby. A baby angel. Wrapped in cloths with Λάκκος written on them. The baby looked up at her, confused.

"Hello…um…why are you just laying here?" Palutena had no idea how to care for a baby.

"We don't know. He was just…laying here" an angel said. Everyone looked worried. The baby looked up at Palutena. He stopped crying and looked at her, confused.

"Awa?" The baby babbled. Palutena giggled. Then she turned to the gathered Angels

"I'll take him back to my temple, let everyone know, so that his parents can come and get him. And maybe find a doctor?" Palutena said. The baby snuggled up to Palutena, gripping her dress. The baby cooed. The angels nodded and left, and Palutena warped back to her Temple.

Once inside, Palutena had no idea what to do. The baby was content to try and eat her hair. A doctor came and did some tests as the baby just kept playing with Palutena's hair.

"Well. He seems healthy but…" the doctor trailed off.

"But…?" Palutena asked, motioning for him to continue.

"His wings, they're too small. It's some sort of birth defect. Basically, he can't fly." The doctor explained. The room went silent. Palutena looked at the baby and held him up.

"So it will be harder to care for him, but that's ok! I'm sure your parents will come for you!" Palutena said, spinning around and holding the baby out. The baby laughed.

Weeks passed. Medusa kept leaving, she didn't care about the baby. Most angels avoided him, and Palutena could hear the judgmental whispers about the flightless baby. She stood outside her palace, holding the baby and the cloth with the Greek word for Pit on it.

"Hey Pit…I don't think anyone's gonna wanna take care of you…" Palutena said sadly. Pit just grabbed her finger and tried to eat it. But Palutena wasn't going to give up! Sure, she knew nothing of raising children, but she wasn't going to leave the little guy alone! She would take care of him! She would be his mom! Actually, she'd be more of a big sister. Yeah, that was better.

She decided to get the best baby stuff for little Pit! First, she made him a plushie. Humans gave their children adorable plush versions of creatures that are dangerous, such as bears. So, she made Pit a plushie Chimera! He loved it immediately. He wouldn't let anyone take it away. Next she made him a blanket! If there was one thing she was good at, it was weaving. She made a blanket with lots of Griffons on it, since Griffons always protected valuable treasures, such as gold, or even the golden fleece! So of course she couldn't resist putting them on the blanket meant for her little treasure. The blanket was big, so that he could still use it after he grew up. Then the baby needed a bed. For some reason, mortals put their babies in little cage beds. Her baby didn't need a cage bed! Palutena got an adult sized bed, and put Pit on it, with his plushie and blankie. He soon went to sleep…and soon Palutena was woken up to the sound of crying. Pit rolled out of bed. And thats why mortals put babies in cage beds. She put some bars around the bed so he couldn't roll out.

The only weird thing was…he never ate. Palutena got him the best food she could find in Skyworld, like Burgers, or Pizza, or anything a kid would like, but all he did was cry. And sleep. He tried to eat but he couldn't break pieces off. It was so weird. And that's when an angel approached.

"You know he needs to eat baby food, right?"

"What?"

And one visit to the doctor later, Pit was ravenously eating his baby food.

Pit was always by her side. Palutena was waiting for the papers she asked for. She was gonna tell her sister, Medusa, but she was never around so eh. Even when meeting with the rest of the Pantheon, Pit was on her lap, swaddled in his blankie. And he was pretty quiet and well behaved. Though they were confused when she brought him.

"Palutena…are you…aware of the child with you?" Posidon asked.

"Yes! He's mine!" She said, proudly showing off Pit as he giggled.

"My my, Palutena, he is ADORABLE! I would happily watch him for you." Hades said with an evil glint in his eye. Persephone also gave a similar smile. Palutena held Pit close protectively. All the other gods and goddesses were nervous. They did not need Palutena going on a rampage like Demeter did all those years ago.

"Come on, Palu. We'll be nice to him!" Persephone said, obviously lying. She was just as malicious as her husband.

"Back off, would you?" Artemis said. All the other gods and goddesses nervously nodded and agreed with Artemis. One thing they all knew, never mess with the child of a deity. Hades backed off. For now.

"Awawg!" He babbled to her one day in the temple.

"Awawg!" She repeated. Pit gasped and smiled.

"Ababababababado!" He said and looked at Palutena excitedly. She chuckled and repeated what he said. Pit smacked his hands on the ground and babbled more as she repeated. He ended up laughing so hard he started rolling. Palutena picked him up and tickled the baby which caused more laughter. Some angels looked over.

"Um…ma'am-"

Palutena gave them a death glare. Pit looked confused, but saw Palutena looking angry, so he decided to look angry too. The angels backed off.

Palutena needed to give him a bath. However, after last time where she just…put him in the shower, she realized SHE had to help him or he would just play in the water again. So she put him in the shower…and put the soap where he could reach it. She really should not have been surprised to find him trying to eat the shampoo bottle.

Pit started to babble to himself. Palutena thought it was adorable. She ended up taking a video of him telling a story to his plushie in the mysterious babble language, complete with lots of hand motions and falling.

A lot of angels thought it was weird she was caring for the flightless baby. They heard rumors she was going to adopt him. Eh, they probably were untrue. After all, who would waste their time trying to take care of a flightless angel!?

"Awuena!" Pit said. Palutena gasped.

"Say that again!" She said.

"Awuena! Awuena!" Pit said while clapping. She started showing him off while he said his version of her name. It had been only a few months. When was Hermes gonna bring those papers!?

Palutena and Medusa needed to do an important thing (human watching). So that meant Palutena needed a babysitter. She was with a sleeping Pit at the local Grocery Store For Deities. Palutena looked around. Demeter saw her. She stopped demanding to see a manager and threatening an employee because she couldn't use an expired coupon and headed over.

"Hello Palutena!" She said with a fake smile.

"Hello (Karen)" Palutena said, whispering that last part.

"What was that?" Demeter demanded.

"I said 'Hello Demeter!'" Palutena said.

"Well, I heard you needed someone to watch your…darling…little one! And my little Persephone has just been dying to get to know him!" Demeter said. She genuinely thought her daughter could do no wrong, when Persephone was just as sinister as her husband.

"Sorry, but I'm good." Palutena said, trying to get away.

"Oh come on now! Who else is gonna watch the flightless little brat?" Demeter said. The only reason Palutena didn't attack Demeter was because Pit was in her arms. Luckily for Palutena, that manager came back, and Demeter was distracted, demanding the employee be fired to notice Palutena quickly buy her groceries and leave. But she still needed someone to watch Pit. She was standing in The Shopping Mall For Deities so SOMEONE had to be here who could watch him! Palutena had tried asking some of the angels around Skyworld to watch him, but every single one said they were busy. Pit by this point had woken up. He was content to play with Palutena's hair for now. That's when she had a…kinda stupid idea! She would just disguise Pit as human, and they would watch him! She only needed to hide his wings and-

"What are you doing?" A voice said. Palutena turned to see Calliope, leader of the muses. Pit looked at the woman

"Hi!" He said. He had learned to say "yes" "no" "hi" and "bye bye"

"Aww! He's such a cute little guy!" Calliope said.

"Can you watch him tomorrow?" Palutena asked, abandoning her previous plan.

"Sure thing! I'll go tell my sisters!" Calliope said. The next day, Pit was dropped off by the Muses before Palutena met up with Medusa.

"Hey Medusa? Before we start I-"

"Shush," Medusa said.

"But this is im-"

"Quiet! Focus!" Medusa yelled. Palutena sulked but decided not to push it. Medusa left without a word at the end of the day. When Palutena went to get Pit, she saw the muses sitting around their sister Thalia, who was telling a story. Pit was on Clio's lap. He listened intently. Palutena waited because she wanted to hear the end. Then she made her presence known, and thanked the muses before returning home with her little angel.

"Bye Bye Moozes!" Pit said.

Pit decided that he was gonna crawl! And by crawl, he meant army crawl. And by that, he ended up just grabbing things and pulling himself around. Palutena found him hiding under a table. Trying to eat an apple.

"Awuena ungy?"

Palutena chuckled, "Can you crawl out of there?"

"YESNO!" Pit yelled. He loved the word yes, he loved the world no, so he always answered yes or no questions with both. He did manage to crawl out though.

Medusa was never around, so Palutena kinda did everything. Well, now some of that work was delegated to some willing angels. She wanted to spend her time with little Pit!

"Isn't that the flightless orphan?"

"Why him? Does she not know he can't fly?"

"I can hear you ya know?" Palutena said, as the gossiping angels fled in a panic. Palutena huffed. Pit decided to copy her, and huffed too.

The adoption papers arrived. Once signed, Pit would be her little brother, because she wasn't ready to be a mom. It would also make Pit the brother of all her siblings, including Medusa. So when Medusa came home to see that Palutena had signed adoption papers, all she could say was…

"Palu what the fu-"

AN: So, this is the start of what's basically a series of loosely connected one and two shots. They will either be fluff, or hurt comfort. Now some explanations. Chimera aren't just mishmash animals. In Greek myth, a Chimera was a creature that had the body of a lion, a lion's head and a ram's head, and its tail was a snake. As for Palutena and weaving, Palutena is (LOOSELY) based on Athena, who was the best weaver ever in the myths
