"Peregrine?" "Yes, Queen Ruby?" "We are going to Possibility. I have been summoned to a council of queens, and I am supposed to bring another dragon. As my most trusted general, you are the one to receive this honor." At this, she walked away, leaving Peregrine wondering what all this was about. A council of queens? What problem could possibly be so big, it could cause a need for a meeting of all the queens of Pyrrhia? Anything big enough to cause something that hadn't happened in hundreds of years could prove to be a serious threat to the kingdom that he had worked to protect for his entire life.
An hour later, Peregrine met up with the queen at the western tower along with two of the Royal Guard, his best friends, Condor and Harpy. As they approached the queen, Peregrine still couldn't stop himself from wondering what all this was about. "are you all ready?" queen Ruby asked. "We are, though I'm still curious about what all this is about." Queen Ruby answered, "Dragons have arrived from the Lost Continent, and they say the flee from a great evil. The queens are meeting to find out more about this evil and what we can do to help these new dragons." Peregrine was shocked. He had heard of the legend of the Lost Continent, as had most every dragon in Pyrrhia, but everyone had thought it was just a legend! He wondered what these dragons looked like, and how they knew their language. He turned to Condor and Harpy. "New dragons! It'll be weird meeting them, right?" "I know! I wonder what they're like!" Condor said in his energetic fashion. "Uh, am I the only one that noticed the whole 'great evil' part?" Harpy asked. "I guess you're right." Peregrine agreed solemnly. "Are you three finished yet?" Queen Ruby asked irritably. "Oops, sorry!" Harpy apologized. "We should probably go now." "For once, something we all agree on." As the four of them flew west to Possibility, Peregrine couldn't help from wondering what lay ahead.
