I was in the car with my dad driving to school. It is so awkward to see even though I live with him and he is my headmaster of the school, we still dont get along. Who gets along with a father who cares more about his job than his kids? That's right. Eric Sweet has not just one but two kids. The problem is my mother saw that dad was working too much that she left him, but still left me with him while my mother took my twin Eddie to America. I miss him. It has been years since I have seen him. We also used to be close with our best friend, Jerome Clark. Our parents went to school together and even stayed at Anubis's house back in the day, which is why we are friends now. But what sucks even more is because dad is the headmaster, I have to move in earlier than all the rest of the students. I am going to be so bored. Just as I thought, we pulled up to school, and to my shock, I saw Jerome standing outside waiting for me.

My dad sees this and says, "I thought you might want a friend here before everyone shows up" I guess he did sometimes try to be a good dad. He parked, and Jerome came to open my door.

"Hey, Alex! How were your summer holidays" He asked me with a smile? God, I love his smile, I think. No! I can't think like that. He is my best friend.

"They were good, I guess. Mostly stayed home alone, you know." My dad is sad about my comment, but why does he care so much? He never did before. Little did I know I would find out in two weeks when my brother came to the school.

"Here you go, better to be heading off to your house," Dad said when he got my suitcase.

"Thanks, Mr. Sweet," I say as I want to get used to calling him that again. Jerome and I head to Anubis house with my stuff. We get there. I go to open the door. "Victor, we are home!" I yell. Next to me, I hear Jerome laugh. Victor comes out of his room.

"Do you have to yell, Alex? Or even say that," Victor said, a little annoyed. See, here is the thing Victor and I have this weird grandfather and granddaughter relationship that no one really understands. I mean, not even I do.

"O come on, you know you love me, victor!" He does not say anything, just looks at me. As well, just then, Trudy comes out.

"Hello, Sweeties! Welcome back to the house. How was it getting here" she said with a big smile.

"It was good, Trudy. I missed you!" I say as I hug her.

I missed you. Why dont you go unpacked? I will make your food. Jerome walks to his room.

"But really, how have you been, victor," I asked him, really wanting to know.

He smiled, knowing that I was winning this. "I am good, Alex. Thank you for asking."

"Of course, victor, you know I care for you," I say with a smile. "Well, I should be unpacking, but I want to talk for sure soon, victor" I ran upstairs to my room. Little did I know that we never got to talk.

At first, it was just a typical semester, but the second week came around, and everything changed. We were not just regular kids; that is where our story truly started.

I wake up the morning of the second week of school just like any normal day. I got ready and went downstairs for food. It was a little early that it was just Jerome and me. "Hey Jerome," I say to him.

"Goodmorning, Alex." He says with a smile.

"How did you sleep?"

"Fine, not too bad. The only thing is Alfie never stopped talking about amber." Jerome said

"Yeah, I am sorry I get the same with joy and Fabian," I say

"God, Imagine being in love with your best friend like that and never telling them."

"Yeah, it has got to be hard on the person for sure," I say in a weird voice. That, I hope, does not hint that I like him. One problem with that hope is Jerome Clark knows me too well.

"Wait, no way! You like someone who is your friend." He said

"What, no!"

"Come on; we have been friends for years. I know when you lie, and you are right now. So who is it" He says as he gets closer to me. I start to blush and try to look away. This just gives him more reason to believe that it is him. "Alex, look at me," he said in a caring voice. I look at him. "Do you like me?" he asked. To be real, all I could do was nod my head. The next thing I know, Jerome Clark is kissing me. I kiss back as well until he pulls away. "Damn, Alex, why did you never say anything? I mean, I liked you as well."

"I dont know. I didn't want to ruin our friendship. I mean, we have been friends for years now."

"Well, it will not. So Alex, will you go out with me?"

"Of course, you dork," I say as I hug him. But just then, everyone comes in.

Time skip to lunchtime Patricia's point of view before joy leaves

Joy and I walked into the lounge to hang out by the stage. However, this was when I hit the feet of some guy sleeping.

"Woah!" he said as he got woken up.

I was being my usual angry self. "Stick your feet in will!"

Shaking his head, he said, "you woke me" then he yawned from being tired.

"Yeah, well, student lounges are for lounging, not sleeping. The clue is in the name." I say.

"Ok, I was on a plane for 8 hours, then on a train for four more. Now I am in boreville Uk and dont need a Lecture from you, Hermione," he said

"Great, that's all we need. Another American whose only reference to the UK is Harry Potter. Who are you anyway" I say, angry.

"Who are you," he says with a head nod

"I asked you first."

"Haha, Really," He says, laughing

"Next time you trip someone up, remember it's considered polite to apologize in this country."

After I said that, he said, "Do you ever stop talking? I should call you Blabs better yet, yacker oh yeah, yacker."

"And maybe I should call you a cat bat hairball" he starts to slow clap for that and laugh, "I would love to stay and talk, but I am going to hang out somewhere else." we go to leave and go outside, but in the hallway joy says

"He is pretty cute, yeah."

"He likes to think he is."

Alex's point of view

"Who likes to think what?" I ask as my roommates walk by me.

"This new guy from America is so annoying he called me yacker," Patricia says

I laugh a little, thinking that it is funny. But Patricia says, "hey, you should be on my side!"

Just then, I feel an arm go around me. I look up and see Jerome. "Sorry, Trixy, but I think Alex should be taking his side. I mean, it would be weird for her not to take her brother's side."

"Wait, Eddie is here."

"Wait, that is Eddie, the twin we hear so much about," we said simultaneously.

"Yes, to both. Alex is in the lounge. I just saw him as I came this way." Jerome said.

"Thanks. Jerome wants to come with me to see him."

"Yeah, I mean, he is my best friend as well," Jerome said as he walked with me. I say bye to the girls as they walk outside. I went to see Eddie in the lounge.

"Eddie!" I scram, running to hug him

"Hey, sis, How are you doing."

"Good, but not important what are you doing here?" I asked, not knowing why.

"Well, it would seem Dad wants to change. He asked me to come here to get to know him. By the way, hey Clark, long time no see." Eddie says, holding out his hand for a handshake they made when we were young.

"I am good, mate. It is so good to see you. Happy to have you back!" Jerome said

"Wow, I am surprised you would think he would want to fix it with me before getting both kids here" I was hurt, and Jerome could tell, so he hugged me from the side in support.

"Still dont get along with dad. I am sorry. But wait, what is going on here" He asked to point Jerome and me.

"Well, you see, we kind of are dating," I said

"Clark, you better treat my sister, right," Eddie said, showing the big brother side of him.

"You know I will, Eddie." Just as Jerome said that, the bell rang to go to class. "Well, we have french. And you might want to head over to the house."

"Sound good. I will see you later," Eddie says as he hugs me before leaving. Jerome and I walk to class. We see Joy, Fabian, and Patricia all walking toward us.

Now, remember when I said that they went outside? Well turns out Patricia was taking a picture of Joy falling onto Fabian. When the bell rings, another American run into them, just that one moment can change it all.
