Asking for a Friend by Debra8652

Frank's chapter

Mi chiamo (my name is) Frank Plum. My crazy old bat m-i-l, Edna Mazur, lives with my wife, Helen, and I in Chambersburg, NJ, or just "the Burg". My older daughter, Valerie, has two daughters from her first husband, Steve, who cheated on her with their babysitter. Since moving back to Trenton, she became involved with Albert Kloughn, a struggling attorney. They are expecting a child and recently married, although Kloughn repeatedly performed the Triple Crown of F's - farting, fainting, and falling off his chair - whenever marriage was mentioned. Stephanie and her "special" friend Diesel ended up tricking Kloughn into marrying Valerie, tg. Maybe I'll eventually get a grandson.

Helen pushed my younger daughter, Stephanie, into relationships with men she considered to be respectable so she could maintain her standing in the Burg. She was thrilled when my pumpkin married Dickie Orr, who was an attorney with political aspirations. He quickly violated their wedding vows by screwing Joyce Barnhardt on their new dining room table. Stephanie quickly kicked The Dick to the curb and initiated a divorce that is still talked about in the Burg. You go, Pumpkin.

Helen then decided that Detective Joseph Morelli would be a respectable Burg husband for my pumpkin. Didn't she see that Morelli came from an abusive home life and wanted to dominate Stephanie and mold her into what he wanted, and not what she wanted and needed to be? Eventually, Morelli joined The Dick on the curb. 'Bout damn time.

Stephanie hit the spouse jackpot when she married Carlos "Ranger" Manoso, but so did he. They treat each other with respect and loyalty, in addition to being crazy about each other.

Speaking of crazy, I need to mention the other apprehension agent in Steph's life, Diesel. I call him The Psycho. I've threatened him with a knife and he didn't even blink. He came across a Border Collie pup while he was on one of his missions, the likes of which defy human abilities. He claims the pup, Remington, also has special abilities. Great. So, Rangeman has a pup with special abilities, as identified by Diesel's special abilities, and being raised by my pumpkin, who has some level of those abilities, probably from her maternal great-grandparents, who were Hungarian gypsies.

I've been around Remy many times and he is one spooky pup, let me tell you. When his eyes bore into mine I've gotten close to confessing things I've never done. I'd swear he can read my every thought - Ranger agrees with me. My biggest fear is that they will let Remy breed and create a whole litter of pups just like him. No one has ever mentioned if he had littermates - it's mind-boggling to think about. Maybe he should be registered as a weapon with the Department of Defense.

So, is it possible that Remy's special abilities are a tradeoff and he is unable to reproduce, fingers crossed? Would my pumpkin forgive me for suggesting the pup get neutered? Is it even possible to plan that without the pup knowing? Asking for a friend.

A/N I appreciate your reviews. Thanks to Daffybduck for suggesting that Frank needed a turn. Consider this a between the numbers chapter.
