Freminet's POV

It was my birthday, and I planned on spending it under the sea.

However, as soon as I left my bedroom, I was ambushed by my siblings.

"Good morning, Freminet", Lyney greeted.

"Happy birthday, Freminet", Lynette greeted.

"Th…thank you", I said. "Anyway, I'm going to…"

"Freminet", Lyney started, interrupting me. "Please come with us. There's somewhere we want to take you."

"Where", I asked in confusion.

"You'll find out when we get there", Lyney replied, before suddenly grabbing onto my hand. "Come on! Let's go!"

With that, Lyney started pulling me away, and I began getting nervous.

Are Lyney and Lynette going to surprise me for my birthday? That's very kind of them, but I don't want to…

Before my thought could finish…Lynette suddenly grabbed onto my free hand.

I looked up at her…and she gave me a reassuring look.

When I saw it, I took a deep breath.

Let me just see where Lyney and Lynette want to take me.

My siblings ended up leading me to Fleuve Cendre. When I saw it…memories of when I lived here with my mother began flooding my mind…and I had to fight back tears.

"Why…", I started. "Why did you two bring me here?"

"You'll find out soon", Lyney replied. "Ah, there he is!"

With this, I looked up…and saw an elderly man.

"Greetings, Abel", Lyney greeted.

"Hello again, you two", the man (who was named Abel) said.

He then turned his gaze to me, and I suddenly became very nervous.

"You must be Freminet", he asked.

"Y…yes", I replied, suddenly becoming very nervous. "Who…who are you?"

Abel did not answer, instead…he held up…a music box.

He then opened the lid, and a melody started playing.

When I heard it…my mind was flooded with memories of laying next to my mother while listening to this exact same melody.

"That song", I started. "It's…the same song my mother's pendant used to play!"

"May I please see the pendant", Abel asked.

"Why…", I started. "Why do you want to see it?"

"Abel is the one who made the pendant", Lynette revealed.

"R…really", I asked in shock.

"Yes", Abel replied. "I promise you that I just want to look at it."

For a moment, I hesitated. But then…I took the pendant out from under my clothing before holding it up.

When Abel saw it…it looked like he was going to tear up.

"I never thought I'd ever see this again", he revealed, before clearing his throat. "I made it as a wedding gift for my wife."

"Your…wife", I asked.

"Yes", Abel replied. "The song the pendant would play was a song she composed. Her dream was to make music that could connect people. But…before she could make that dream come true…she became ill…and passed away. I was so heartbroken that…I threw the pendant into the ocean, and I've regret it ever since."

After hearing this, I looked down at the pendant. Then…I made a decision.

"Here", I said, before holding it up. "You should have this."

"What", Abel asked in shock.

"It belonged to someone you loved dearly", I pointed out. "You should have it."

After hearing this, Abel took a closer look at the pendant.

Then…he smiled at me.

"No", he said. "You keep it. In fact, why don't you take this music box as well?"

"What", I asked in shock. "I…I can't do that!"

"My wife's dream was to connect people through her music", Abel pointed out. "If she found out her song was able to connect you to your late mother, I'm sure she would be very happy. So please, take it."

With that, able put the music box into my hands.

"I…", I started. "Th…Thank you so much, sir!"

After I said this, Abel gave me another smile.

"Well then", he started. "I'd better get going. My granddaughter is waiting for me at home. Take care, Freminet, and happy birthday."

With that, Abel left.

I then looked down at the music box…and felt a mix of emotions.

"Freminet", Lynette started. "Are you okay?"

"I'm…", I started, holding back my tears. "I'm okay."

After I said this, I looked up at my siblings.

"Lyney, Lynette", I started. "Thank you so much for doing this for me."

"Of course", Lynette replied.

"We just didn't want you to be sad on your birthday", Lyney added.

After he did…I got an idea.

"Um…", I started nervously. "Since it's my birthday, would you two like to do something with me?"

After I asked this, my siblings looked at each other in shock.

Then, they both smiled widely.

"Of course", Lyney replied.

"What would you like to do", Lynette asked.

We then started discussing what to do for my birthday…and a small smile came to my face.

Thank you, Lyney and Lynette. I'm very grateful that I get to spend my birthday with you two.
