Chapter 5

Things go from good to bad.

Three weeks have passed and Evelyn is at the healing clinic. She's there because she hasn't been feeling well. The healer had Evelyn lay down. Then she waved her hands over her. Soon she stopped, smiled, and said "Congrats Evelyn you're with child." Evelyn gaped and said "Oh my Titan thank you." She sat up and got ready to go. Then the healer said "Oh my Aunt told me. That she heard that human. Named Philip is looking for you and Caleb." Evelyn's eyes went wide and said "Please tell your Aunt not to tell him where we are. And could you please not tell him about my pregnancy." The healer nodded and said "No problem."

Evelyn went home and found Caleb.

"I have good news and bad news." informed Evelyn

"Give me the good news first." stated Caleb

"The good news is I'm with child." beamed Evelyn

"That's wonderful my love." Caleb also beamed

"Now for the bad news. The healer's Aunt heard. That a human named Philip is looking for us." informed Evelyn

"Oh no the portal must have still been open. When he found the note that I has left him. And he's coming looking for me. We'll have to keep a low profile." fretted Caleb

Three months have passed and Evelyn is three months pregnant. She is showing a small baby bump. Right now she and Caleb are at home. They are relaxing after a long day. The couple are sitting outside enjoying a beautiful night. Caleb has his hands on Evelyn's small round stomach. Ever since Evelyn told him that she's with child. He's been enjoying every minute of it. Caleb has also been enjoying the changes that Evelyn's body is going through. The young man sighed happily and held his wife tight. Flapjack is snoozing in Caleb's hair on the top of his head.

Two months have passed and Evelyn is five months pregnant. She is showing a good size baby bump. Caleb and Evelyn are on their way home. Being the gentleman that he is Caleb is letting her go first. Philip has finally found out where Caleb and Evelyn are. And he is on his way to confront his brother. He is almost there and can see Caleb in the distance. And just ahead of him is Evelyn. He became enraged when he saw that Evelyn looks pregnant. Philip took of running toward Evelyn and Caleb. Caleb heard someone running toward him. He looked and saw Philip coming.

"Evelyn run get to the house. Go through the house and go out the back door." ordered Caleb

"What why?" asked Evelyn

"I can see Philip coming now go." replied Caleb

Evelyn nodded and ran to their house. She went through the house and went out the back. She ran two miles and stopped. Evelyn summoned her staff and said "Flapjack go protect Caleb." Flapjack turned from wood to a real bird. He took off flying toward Caleb. Back at the house Caleb is standing in front of the house. Philip walked up to Caleb.

"Where is she where is the witch?" asked Philip

"She isn't here I don't know where she went." replied Caleb

"I can't believe you choose a witch over me. And I can't believe that you're going. To have a child with her." boomed Philip

"Philip you're old enough to take care of yourself. I love Evelyn and we want to start a family. She and the people that live here are good people." informed Caleb

"If you won't tell me where she is. Then I will find her myself." bellowed Philip

"You'll have to get through me first. I'm not going to allow you to harm Evelyn." growled Caleb

With that said Caleb got out a dagger. Angry Philip got out fire glyph's he activated them ad threw them. Some landed on the ground around Caleb. And some landed on the house. Seeing the house and the ground on fire. Then Philip got out his dagger and charged at Caleb. Caleb had no choice but to run toward his brother. Suddenly Caleb heard chirping and Philip say "Get away from me you blasted bird." Caleb looked and saw Flapjack flying around Philip. Philip is swinging around his dagger.

"Be careful Flapjack!" yelled Caleb

Caleb ran closer to Philip and saw. As Philip swung his dagger and cut across Flapjack's left eye. Flapjack flew away from Philip and into a tree near by. With Evelyn she had walked up a hill. To get a good look below. She gasped when she saw that there. Is fire where her home is. Evelyn took off running as fast as she can. With Philip and Caleb, Caleb ran up to Philip. And yelled "How dare you hurt Flapjack!"

"The blasted bird was in my way!" spat Philip

"He was just protecting me. Evelyn probably sent him." stated Caleb

"Standing up for that witch's demon bird. After I kill the witch. I'm going to kill the bird too." barked Philip

"You're not going to lay a hand. On Evelyn nor Flapjack." boomed Caleb

"Then I will kill you as well." bellowed Philip

With that said the two brothers started fighting. Five minutes later Caleb got close enough to Philip. To wrap his arms around Philip in a hug.

"Philip no matter what you're brother and I love you. I just wish you would give Evelyn a chance." assured Caleb

Philip saw this as an opportunity so he. Raised his dagger and stabbed Caleb in the back. Caleb pushed away from Philip. Then Philip cut across Caleb's chest. Caleb then tripped and landed on his back on the ground. Caleb looked up at Philip and asked "How could you do that to me Philip."

"Because there is no saving you. That witch has completely corrupted you. Now I'm off to find that witch. And kill her and that bird of her's." replied Philip dryly

Just then Philip heard someone gasp. He looked and saw Evelyn. Ignoring Philip Evelyn ran over to Caleb. She knelt down and can see. That Caleb is bleeding and is having trouble breathing

"Evelyn.. get out.. of here.. He wants... to.. kill you... and Flapjack." stuttered Caleb

The young woman stood and faced Philip. She glared at him and asked "How could you do this to him?" Philip sighed and replied "I had no choice he is. To corrupted to be saved. Now I'm going to kill you and that bird of yours. I'm sure it won't be hard to find him." As Philip stepped toward Evelyn. He saw crystal blue sparks of magic coming from Evelyn's hands.

"If you value your life! I suggest that you leave! And never come back! Or I will blast you into dust!" spat Evelyn

In fear of Evelyn living up to her threat Philip ran off.
